1. तब इब्राहीम ने एक और पत्नी ब्याह ली जिसका नाम कतूरा था।

1. And Abraham took another wife named Keturah.

2. और उस से जिम्रान, योक्षान, मदना, मिद्यान, यिशबाक, और शूह उत्पन्न हुए।

2. And she bore him Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah.

3. और योक्षान से शबा और ददान उत्पन्न हुए। और ददान के वंश में अश्शूरी, लतूशी, और लुम्मी लोग हुए।

3. And Jokshan begot Sheba and Dedan; and the sons of Dedan were the Asshurim, and the Letushim, and the Leummim.

4. और मिद्यान के पुत्रा एपा, एपेर, हनोक, अबीदा, और एल्दा हुए, से सब कतूरा के सन्तान हुए।

4. And the sons of Midian were Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.

5. इसहाक को तो इब्राहीम ने अपना सब कुछ दिया।

5. And Abraham gave all that he had to Isaac.

6. पर अपनी रखेलियों के पुत्रों को, कुछ कुछ देकर अपने जीते जी अपने पुत्रा इसहाक के पास से पूरब देश में भेज दिया।

6. And to the sons of the concubines that Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts, and, while he yet lived, sent them away from Isaac his son, eastward to the east country.

7. इब्राहीम की सारी अवस्था एक सौ पचहत्तर वर्ष की हुई।

7. And these are the days of the years of Abraham's life which he lived: a hundred and seventy-five years.

8. और इब्राहीम का दीर्घायु होने के कारण अर्थात् पूरे बुढ़ापे की अवस्था में प्राण छूट गया।

8. And Abraham expired and died in a good old age, old and full [of days]; and was gathered to his peoples.

9. और उसके पुत्रा इसहाक और इश्माएल ने, हित्ती सोहर के पुत्रा एप्रोन की मम्रे के सम्मुखवाली भूमि में, जो मकपेला की गुफा थी, उस में उसको मिट्टी दी गई।

9. And his sons Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah, in the field of Ephron the son of Zohar the Hittite, which was opposite to Mamre --

10. अर्थात् जो भूमि इब्राहीम ने हित्तियों से मोल ली थी : उसी में इब्राहीम, और उस की पत्नी सारा, दोनों को मिट्टी दी गई।

10. the field that Abraham had purchased of the sons of Heth: there was Abraham buried, and Sarah his wife.

11. इब्राहीम के मरने के पश्चात् परमेश्वर ने उसके पुत्रा इसहाक को जो लहैरोई नाम कुएं के पास रहता था आशीष दी।।

11. And it came to pass after the death of Abraham, that God blessed his son Isaac. And Isaac dwelt at Beer-lahai-roi.

12. इब्राहीम का पुत्रा इश्माएल जो सारा की लौंडी हाजिरा मिद्दी से उत्पन्न हुआ था, उसकी यह वंशावली है।

12. And these are the generations of Ishmael, Abraham's son, whom Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's bondwoman, bore to Abraham.

13. इश्माएल के पुत्रों के नाम और वंशावली यह है : अर्थात् इश्माएल का जेठा पुत्रा नबायोत, फिर केदार, अद्बेल, मिबसाम,

13. And these are the names of the sons of Ishmael by their names according to their generations: Nebaioth, the firstborn of Ishmael; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,

14. मिश्मा, दूमा, मस्सा,

14. and Mishma, and Dumah, and Massa,

15. हदर, तेमा, यतूर, नपीश, और केदमा।

15. Hadad and Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedmah.

16. इश्माएल के पुत्रा ये ही हुए, और इन्हीं के नामों के अनुसार इनके गांवों, और छावनियों के नाम भी पड़े; और ये ही बारह अपने अपने कुल के प्रधान हुए।

16. These are the sons of Ishmael, and these are their names, in their hamlets and their encampments -- twelve princes of their peoples.

17. इश्माएल की सारी अवस्था एक सौ सैंतीस वर्ष की हुई : तब उसके प्राण छूट गए, और वह अपने लोगों में जा मिला।

17. And these are the years of the life of Ishmael: a hundred and thirty-seven years; and he expired and died, and was gathered to his peoples.

18. और उसके वंश हवीला से शूर तक, जो मि के सम्मुख अश्शूर् के मार्ग में है, बस गए। और उनका भाग उनके सब भाईबन्धुओं के सम्मुख पड़ा।।

18. And they dwelt from Havilah to Shur, which is opposite to Egypt, as one goes towards Assyria. He settled before the face of all his brethren.

19. इब्राहीम के पुत्रा इसहाक की वंशावली यह है : इब्राहीम से इसहाक उत्पन्न हुआ।

19. And these are the generations of Isaac, Abraham's son. Abraham begot Isaac.

20. और इसहाक ने चालीस वर्ष का होकर रिबका को, जो प नराम के वासी, अरामी बतूएल की बेटी, और अरामी लाबान की बहिन भी, ब्याह लिया।

20. And Isaac was forty years old when he took Rebecca as wife, the daughter of Bethuel the Syrian of Padan-Aram, the sister of Laban the Syrian.

21. इसहाक की पत्नी तो बांझ थी, सो उस ने उसके निमित्त यहोवा से बिनती की: और यहोवा ने उसकी बिनती सुनी, सो उसकी पत्नी रिबका गर्भवती हुई।
रोमियों 9:10

21. And Isaac entreated Jehovah for his wife, because she was barren; and Jehovah was entreated of him, and Rebecca his wife conceived.

22. और लड़के उसके गर्भ में आपस में लिपटके एक दूसरे को मारने लगे : तब उस ने कहा, मेरी जो ऐसी ही दशा रहेगी तो मैं क्योंकर जीवित रहूंगी? और वह यहोवा की इच्छा पूछने को गई।
लूका 1:41

22. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If [it be] so, why am I thus? And she went to inquire of Jehovah.

23. तब यहोवा ने उस से कहा तेरे गर्भ में दो जातियां हैं, और तेरी कोख से निकलते ही दो राज्य के लोग अलग अलग होंगे, और एक राज्य के लोग दूसरे से अधिक सामर्थी होंगे और बड़ा बेटा छोटे के अधीन होगा।
रोमियों 9:12

23. And Jehovah said to her, Two nations are in thy womb, And two peoples shall be separated from thy bowels; And one people shall be stronger than the other people, And the elder shall serve the younger.

24. जब उसके पुत्रा उत्पन्न होने का समय आया, तब क्या प्रगट हुआ, कि उसके गर्भ में जुड़वे बालक है।

24. And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb.

25. और पहिला जो उत्पन्न हुआ सो लाल निकला, और उसका सारा शरीर कम्बल के समान रोममय था; सो उसका नाम एसाव रखा गया।

25. And the first came out red -- all over like a hairy garment; and they called his name Esau.

26. पीछे उसका भाई अपने हाथ से एसाव की एड़ी पकडे हुए उत्पन्न हुआ; और उसका नाम याकूब रखा गया। और जब रिबका ने उनको जन्म दिया तब इसहाक साठ वर्ष का था।

26. And after that came his brother out; and his hand took hold of Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob. And Isaac was sixty years old when they were born.

27. फिर वे लड़के बढ़ने लगे और एसाव तो वनवासी होकर चतुर शिकार खेलनेवाला हो गया, पर याकूब सीधा मनुष्य था, और तम्बुओं में रहा करता था।

27. And the boys grew, and Esau became a man skilled in hunting, a man of the field; and Jacob was a homely man, dwelling in tents.

28. और इसहाक तो एसाव के अहेर का मांस खाया करता था, इसलिये वह उस से प्रीति रखता था : पर रिबका याकूब से प्रीति रखती थी।।

28. And Isaac loved Esau, because venison was to his taste; and Rebecca loved Jacob.

29. याकूब भोजन के लिये कुछ दाल पका रहा था : और एसाव मैदान से थका हुआ आया।

29. And Jacob had cooked a dish; and Esau came from the field, and he was faint.

30. तब एसाव ने याकूब से कहा, वह जो लाल वस्तु है, उसी लाल वस्तु में से मुझे कुछ खिला, क्योंकि मैं थका हूं। इसी कारण उसका नाम एदोम भी पड़ा।

30. And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with the red -- the red thing there, for I am faint. Therefore was his name called Edom.

31. याकूब ने कहा, अपना पहिलौठे का अधिकार आज मेरे हाथ बेच दे।

31. And Jacob said, Sell me now thy birthright.

32. एसाव ने कहा, देख, मै तो अभी मरने पर हूं : सो पहिलौठे के अधिकार से मेरा क्या लाभ होगा ?

32. And Esau said, Behold, I am going to die, and of what use can the birthright be to me?

33. याकूब ने कहा, मुझ से अभी शपथ खा : सो उस ने उस से शपथ खाई : और अपना पहिलौठे का अधिकार याकूब के हाथ बेच डाला।
इब्रानियों 12:16

33. And Jacob said, Swear unto me now. And he swore unto him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.

34. इस पर याकूब ने एसाव को रोटी और पकाई हुई मसूर की दाल दी; और उस ने खाया पिया, तब उठकर चला गया। यों एसाव ने अपना पहिलौठे का अधिकार तुच्छ जाना।।

34. And Jacob gave Esau bread and the dish of lentils; and he ate and drank, and rose up and went away. Thus Esau despised the birthright.
