1. पौलुस की ओर से, जो परमेश्वर की इच्छा से मसीह यीशु का प्रेरित है, और भाई तीमुथियुस की ओर से।

1. Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

2. मसीह में उन पवित्रा और विश्वासी भाइयों के नाम जो कुलुस्से में रहते हैं।। हमारे पिता परमेश्वर की ओर से तुम्हें अनुग्रह और शान्ति प्राप्त होती रहे।।

2. To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ [who are] at Colossae: Grace to you and peace from God our Father.

3. हम तुम्हारे लिये नित प्रार्थना करके अपने प्रभु यीशु मसीह के पिता अर्थात् परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करते हैं।

3. We give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

4. क्योंकि हम ने सुना है, कि मसीह यीशु पर तुम्हारा विश्वास है, और सब पवित्रा लोगों से प्रेम रखते हो।

4. since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and the love which you have for all the saints;

5. उस आशा की हुई वस्तु के कारण जो तुम्हारे लिये स्वर्ग में रखी हुई है, जिस का वर्णन तुम उस सुसमाचार के सत्य वचन में सुन चुके हो।

5. because of the hope laid up for you in heaven, of which you previously heard in the word of truth, the gospel

6. जो तुम्हारे पास पहुंचा है और जैसा जगत में भी फल लाता, और बढ़ता जाता है; अर्थात् जिस दिन से तुम ने उस को सुना, और सच्चाई से परमेश्वर का अनुग्रह पहिचाना है, तुम में भी ऐसा ही करता है।

6. which has come to you, just as in all the world also it is constantly bearing fruit and increasing, even as [it has been doing] in you also since the day you heard [of it] and understood the grace of God in truth;

7. उसी की शिक्षा तुम ने हमारे प्रिय सहकर्मी इपफ्रास से पाई, जो हमारे लिये मसीह का विश्वासयोग्य सेवक है।

7. just as you learned [it] from Epaphras, our beloved fellow bond-servant, who is a faithful servant of Christ on our behalf,

8. उसी ने तुम्हारे प्रेम को जो आत्मा में है हम पर प्रगट किया।।

8. and he also informed us of your love in the Spirit.

9. इसी लिये जिस दिन से यह सुना है, हम भी तुम्हारे लिये यह प्रार्थना करने और बिनती करने से नहीं चूकते कि तुम सारे आत्मिक ज्ञान और समझ सहित परमेश्वर की इच्छा की पहिचान में परिपूर्ण हो जाओ।

9. For this reason also, since the day we heard [of it], we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding,

10. ताकि तुम्हारा चाल- चलन प्रभु के योग्य हो, और वह सब प्रकार से प्रसन्न हो, और तुम में हर प्रकार के भले कामों का फल लगे, और परमेश्वर की पहिचान में बढ़ते जाओ।

10. so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please [Him] in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

11. और उस की महिमा की शक्ति के अनुसार सब प्रकार की सामर्थ से बलवन्त होते जाओ, यहां तक कि आनन्द के साथ हर प्रकार से धीरज और सहनशीलता दिखा सको।

11. strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously

12. और पिता का धन्यवाद करते रहो, जिस ने हमें इस योग्य बनाया कि ज्योति में पवित्रा लोगों के साथ मीरास में समभागी हों।

12. giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light.

13. उसी ने हमें अन्धकार के वश से छुड़ाकर अपने प्रिय पुत्रा के राज्य में प्रवेश कराया।

13. For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

14. जिस से हमें छुटकारा अर्थात् पापों की क्षमा प्राप्त होती है।

14. in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.

15. वह तो अदृश्य परमेश्वर का प्रतिरूप और सारी सृष्टि में पहिलौठा है।

15. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

16. क्योंकि उसी में सारी वस्तुओं की सृष्टि हुई, स्वर्ग की हो अथवा पृथ्वी की, देखी या अनदेखी, क्या सिंहासन, क्या प्रभुतांए, क्या प्रधानताएं, क्या अधिकार, सारी वस्तुएं उसी के द्वारा और उसी के लिये सृजी गई हैं।
नीतिवचन 16:4

16. For by Him all things were created, [both] in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities-- all things have been created through Him and for Him.

17. और वही सब वस्तुओं में प्रथम है, और सब वस्तुएं उसी में स्थिर रहती हैं।
नीतिवचन 8:22-25

17. He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.

18. और वही देह, अर्थात् कलीसिया का सिर है; वही आदि है और मरे हुओं में से जी उठनेवालों में पहिलौठा कि सब बातों में वही प्रधान ठहरे।

18. He is also head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

19. क्योंकि पिता की प्रसन्नता इसी में है कि उस में सरी परिपूर्णता वास करे।

19. For it was the [Father's] good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

20. और उसके क्रूस पर बहे हुए लोहू के द्वारा मेल मिलाप करके, सब वस्तुओं को उसी के द्वारा से अपने साथ मेल कर ले चाहे वे पृथ्वी पर की हों, चाहे स्वर्ग में की।

20. and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, [I say], whether things on earth or things in heaven.

21. और उस ने अब उसकी शारीरिक देह में मृत्यु के द्वारा तुम्हारा भी मेल कर लिया जो पहिले निकाले हुए थे और बुरे कामों के कारण मन से बैरी थे।

21. And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, [engaged] in evil deeds,

22. ताकि तुम्हें अपने सम्मुख पवित्रा और निष्कलंक, और निर्दोष बनाकर उपस्थित करे।

22. yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach--

23. यदि तुम विश्वास की नेव पर दृढ़ बने रहो, और उस सुसमाचार की आशा को जिसे तुम ने सुना है न छोड़ो, जिस का प्रचार आकाश के नीचे की सारी सृष्टि में किया गया; और जिस का मैं पौलुस सेवक बना।।

23. if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

24. अब मैं उन दुखों के कारण आनन्द करता हूं, जो तुम्हारे लिये उठाता हूं, और मसीह के क्लेशों की घटी उस की देह के लिये, अर्थात् कलीसिया के लिये, अपने शरीर में पूरी किए देता हूं।

24. Now I rejoice in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I do my share on behalf of His body, which is the church, in filling up what is lacking in Christ's afflictions.

25. जिस का मैं परमेश्वर के उस प्रबन्ध के अनुसार सेवक बना, जो तुम्हारे लिये मुझे सौंपा गया, ताकि मैं परमेश्वर के वचन को पूरा पूरा प्रचार करूं।

25. Of [this church] I was made a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the [preaching of] the word of God,

26. अर्थात् उस भेद को समयों और पीढ़ियों से गुप्त रहा, परन्तु अब उसके उन पवित्रा लोगों पर प्रगट हुआ है।

26. [that is], the mystery which has been hidden from the [past] ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints,

27. जिन पर परमेश्वर ने प्रगट करना चाहा, कि उन्हें ज्ञात हो कि अन्यजातियों में उस भेद की महिमा का मूल्य क्या है? और वह यह है, कि मसीह जो महिमा की आशा है तुम में रहता है।

27. to whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

28. जिस का प्रचार करके हम हर एक मनुष्य को जता देते हैं और सारे ज्ञान से हर एक मनुष्य को सिखाते हैं, कि हम हर एक व्यक्ति को मसीह में सिद्ध करके उपस्थित करें।

28. We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ.

29. और इसी के लिये मैं उस की उस शक्ति के अनुसार जो मुझ में सामर्थ के साथ प्रभाव डालती है तन मन लगाकर परिश्रम भी करता हूं।

29. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.
