1. हे इस्राएल, सुन, आज तू यरदन पार इसलिये जानेवाला है, कि ऐसी जातियों को जो तुझ से बड़ी और सामर्थी हैं, और ऐसे बड़े नगरों को जिनकी श्हरपनाह आकाश से बातें करती हैं, अपने अधिकार में ले ले।

1. Heare O Israel, This daie shalt thou go ouer Iordane, that thou maiest come in to conquere the nacions, which are greater and mightier then thou, greate cities, walled vp vnto heauen,

2. उन में बड़े बड़े और लम्बे लम्बे लोग, अर्थात् अनाकवंशी रहते हैं, जिनका हाल तू जानता है, और उनके विषय में तू ने यह सुना है, कि अनाकवशियों के साम्हने कौन ठहर सकता है?

2. a greate people and of an hye stature, namely the childre of Enakim, whom thou hast knowne, and of whom thou hast herde saye: Who is able to stonde agaynst the children of Enakim?

3. इसलिये आज तू यह जान ले, कि जो तेरे आगे भस्म करनेवाली आग की नाई पार जानेवाला है वह तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा है; और वह उनका सत्यानाश करेगा, और वह उनको तेरे साम्हने दबा देगा; और तू यहोवा के वचन के अनुसार उनको उस देश से निकालकर शीघ्र ही नष्ट कर डालेगा।

3. Therfore shalt thou knowe this daye, that the LORDE yi God goeth before the, a cosumynge fyre. He shal destroye the, and shall subdue them before the, and shal driue them out, & shortly shall he brynge the to naught, as the LORDE hath promysed the.

4. जब तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा उन्हें तेरे साम्हने से निकाल चुके तब यह न सोचना, कि यहोवा तेरे धर्म के कारण तुझे इस देश का अधिकारी होने को ले आया है, किन्तु उन जातियों की दुष्टता ही के कारण यहोवा उनको तेरे साम्हने से निकालता है।

4. Now whan the LORDE thy God hath expelled them out before the, saye not thou the in thine hert: The LORDE hath brought me in to take possession of this lande for myne awne righteousnes sake, where as ye LORDE yet dryueth out the Heithen before the, because of their vngodlynes.

5. तू जो उनके देश का अधिकारी होने के लिये जा रहा है, इसका कारण तेरा धर्म वा मन की सीधाई नहीं है; तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा जो उन जातियों को तेरे साम्हने से निकालता है, उसका कारण उनकी दुष्टता है, और यह भी कि जो वचन उस ने इब्राहीम, इसहाक, और याकूब, तेरे पूर्वजों को शपथ खाकर दिया था, उसको वह पूरा करना चाहता है।

5. For thou commest not in to take their londe in possession, for thine awne righteousnes sake, and because of thy right hert: but the LORDE dryueth out these Heythen, for their awne vngodlynesse sake, and that he maye perfourme the worde, which the LORDE hath sworne vnto yi fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Iacob.

6. इसलिये यह जान ले कि तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा, जो तुझे वह अच्छा देश देता है कि तू उसका अधिकारी हो, उसे वह तेरे धर्म के कारण नहीं दे रहा है; क्योंकि तू तो एक हठीली जाति है।

6. Vnderstonde now therfore, that the LORDE yi God geueth not the this londe to possesse it, for thine awne righteousnes sake. For thou art a styffnecked people.

7. इस बात का स्मरण रख और कभी भी न भूलना, कि जंगल में तू ने किस किस रीति से अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को क्रोधित किया; और जिस देश से तू मि देश से निकला है जब तक तुम इस स्थान पर न पहंुचे तब तक तुम यहोवा से बलवा ही बलवा करते आए हो।

7. Remembre and forget not, how thou displeasedest the LORDE thy God in the wildernesse. Sence ye daye that thou departedst out of the londe of Egipte, tyll ye came vnto this place, haue ye bene dishobedient vnto the LORDE.

8. फिर होरेब के पास भी तुम ने यहोवा को क्रोधित किया, और वह क्रोधित होकर तुम्हें नष्ट करना चाहता था।

8. For in Horeb ye angred the LORDE, so that of wrath he wolde haue destroyed you,

9. जब मैं उस वाचा के पत्थर की पटियाओं को जो यहोवा ने तुम से बान्धी थी लेने के लिये पर्वत के ऊपर चढ़ गया, तब चालीस दिन और चालीस रात पर्वत ही के ऊपर रहा; और मैं ने न तो रोटी खाई न पानी पिया।

9. whan I was gone vp to ye mount, to receaue the tables of stone, namely the tables of the couenaunt which the LORDE made wt you, and I abode fortye dayes & fortye nightes vpon the mount, and ate no bred, & dranke no water:

10. और यहोवा ने मुझे अपने ही हाथ की लिखी हुई पत्थर की दोनों पटियाओं को सौंप दिया, और वे ही वचन जिन्हें यहोवा ने पर्वत के ऊपर आग के मध्य में से सभा के दिन तुम से कहे थे वे सब उन पर लिखे हुए थे।

10. and the LORDE gaue me ye two tables of stone, wrytten with the fynger of God, and in them was acordinge to all the wordes, which the LORDE sayde vnto you vpon the mount out of the fyre, in the daye of the gatheringe together.

11. और चालीस दिन और चालीस रात के बीत जाने पर यहोवा ने पत्थर की वे दो वाचा की पटियाएं मुझे दे दीं।

11. And after the fortye dayes and fortye nightes, ye LORDE gaue me ye two tables of stone, namely ye tables of the couenaunt,

12. और यहोवा ने मुझ से कहा, उठ, यहां से झटपट नीचे जा; क्योंकि तेरी प्रजा के लोग जिनको तू मि से निकालकर ले आया है वे बिगड़ गए हैं; जिस मार्ग पर चलने की आज्ञा मैं ने उन्हें दी थी उसको उन्हों ने झटपट छोड़ दिया है; अर्थात् उन्हों ने तुरन्त अपने लिये एक मूर्त्ति ढालकर बना ली है।

12. and sayde vnto me: vp, & get ye downe quyckly from hence, for thy people whom thou broughtest out of Egipte, haue marred the selues, they are soone gone out of the waye, which I commaunded them, and haue made them a molten ymage.

13. फिर यहोवा ने मुझ से यह भी कहा, कि मैं ने उन लोगो को देख लिया, वे हठीली जाति के लोग हैं;

13. And the LORDE saide vnto me: I se this people, that it is a styffnecked people:

14. इसलिये अब मुझे तू मत रोक, ताकि मैं उन्हें नष्ट कर डालूं, और धरती के ऊपर से उनका नाम वा चिन्ह तक मिटा डालूं, और मैं उन से बढ़कर एक बड़ी और सामर्थी जाति तुझी से उत्पन्न करूंगा।

14. let me alone, that I maye destroye them, and put out their name from vnder heaue. I wyl make of the a people mightier and greater the this is.

15. तब मैं उलटे पैर पर्वत से नीचे उतर चला, और मेरे दोनों हाथों में वाचा की दोनों पटियाएं थीं।

15. And as I turned me, & wente downe fro the mount which brent wt fyre, & had ye two tables of the couenaunt in both my hades,

16. और मैं ने देखा कि तुम ने अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के विरूद्ध महापाप किया; और अपने लिये एक बछड़ा ढालकर बना लिया है, और तुरन्त उस मार्ग से जिस पर चलने की आज्ञा यहोवा ने तुम को दी थी उसको तुम ने तज दिया।

16. I loked, & beholde, ye had synned agaynst ye LORDE yor God, so yt ye had made you a molten calfe, & were soone turned out of ye waie which the LORDE had commaunded you.

17. तब मैं ने उन दोनों पटियाओं को अपने दोनो हाथों से लेकर फेंक दिया, और तुम्हारी आंखों के साम्हने उनको तोड़ डाला।

17. Then toke I the two tables, & cast them out of both my handes, & brake the before youre eyes,

18. तब तुम्हारे उस महापाप के कारण जिसे करके तुम ने यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुराई की, और उसे रीस दिलाई थी, मैं यहोवा के साम्हने मुंह के बल गिर पड़ा, और पहिले की नाई, अर्थात् चालीस दिन और चालीस रात तक, न तो रोटी खाई और न पानी पिया।

18. & I fell before the LORDE (euen as at the first tyme) fortye dayes & fortye nightes, & nether ate bred, ner drake water, because of all youre synnes which ye had synned, whan ye dyd soch euell in the sighte of the LORDE, to prouoke him vnto wrath.

19. मैं तो यहोवा के उस कोप और जल- जलाहट से डर रहा था, क्योंकि वह तुम से अप्रसन्न होकर तुम्हें सत्यानाश करने को था। परन्तु यहोवा ने उस बार भी मेरी सुन ली।

19. For I was afrayed of the wrath and indignacion, wherwith the LORDE was angrie wt you, euen to haue destroyed you. And the LORDE herde me at that tyme also.

20. और यहोवा हारून से इतना क्रोधित हुआ कि उसे भी सत्यानाश करना चाहा; परन्तु उसी समय मैं ने हारून के लिये भी प्रार्थना की।

20. Morouer the LORDE was very angrie wt Aaron, so that he wolde haue destroyed him, but I made intercession for Aaron also at ye same tyme.

21. और मैं ने वह बछड़ा जिसे बनाकर तुम पापी हो गए थे लेकर, आग में डालकर फूंक दिया; और फिर उसे पीस पीसकर ऐसा चूर चूरकर डाला कि वह धूल की नाई जीर्ण हो गया; और उसकी उस राख को उस नदी में फेंक दिया जो पर्वत से निकलकर नीचे बहती थी।

21. As for youre synne (namely, the calfe that ye had made) I toke it, and burnt it with the fyre, and smote it a sunder, & grynde it in peces, euen vnto dust, and cast the dust in to the broke that descended from the mount.

22. फिर तबेरा, और मस्सा, और किब्रोतहत्तावा में भी तुम ने यहोवा को रीस दिलाई थी।

22. Ye displeased the LORDE also, at Tabera, and at Massa, and at the lustgraues,

23. फिर जब यहोवा ने तुम को कोदशबर्ने से यह कहकर भेजा, कि जाकर उस देश के जिसे मैं ने तुम्हें दिया है अधिकारी हो जाओ, तब भी तुम ने अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की आज्ञा के विरूद्ध बलवा किया, और न तो उसका विश्वास किया, और न उसकी बात मानी।

23. and wha he sent you from Cades Barnea, and sayde: Go vp, and conquere the londe which I haue geuen you. And ye were disobedient vnto the mouth of the LORDE youre God, and beleued not on him, and herkened not vnto his voyce:

24. जिस दिन से मैं तुम्हें जानता हूं उस दिन से तुम यहोवा से बलवा ही करते आए हो।

24. for ye haue bene disobediet vnto the LORDE, as longe as I haue knowne you.

25. मैं यहोवा के साम्हने चालीस दिन और चालीस रात मुंह के बल पड़ा रहा, क्योंकि यहोवा ने कह दिया था, कि वह तुम को सत्यानाश करेगा।

25. The fell I before ye LORDE fortye daies and fortye nightes, which I laye there. For ye LORDE sayde, he wolde destroye you.

26. और मैं ने यहोवा से यह प्रार्थना की, कि हे प्रभु यहोवा, अपना प्रजारूपी निज भाग, जिनको तू ने अपने महान् प्रताप से छुड़ा लिया है, और जिनको तू ने अपने बलवन्त हाथ से मि से निकाल लिया है, उन्हें नष्ट न कर।

26. But I made intercession vnto the LORDE, and sayde: O LORDE LORDE, destroye not yi people and thine enheritaunce, which thou thorow thy greate power hast delyuered, and broughte out of Egipte with a mightie hade.

27. अपने दास इब्राहीम, इसहाक, और याकूब को स्मरण कर; और इन लोगों की कठोरता, और दुष्टता, और पाप पर दृष्टि न कर,

27. Remembre thy seruauntes Abraham, Isaac and Iacob. Loke not vpon the stubburnesse, and vngodlynesse and synne of this people

28. जिस से ऐसा न हो कि जिस देश से तू हम को निकालकर ले आया है, वहां से लोग कहने लगें, कि यहोवा उन्हें उस देश में जिसके देश का वचन उनको दिया था नहीं पहुंचा सका, और उन से बैर भी रखता था, इसी कारण उस ने उन्हें जंगल में निकालकर मार डाला है।

28. (that the londe wherout thou hast broughte vs, saye not: The LORDE was not able to bringe them in to the lande, that he promysed them, and because he hated them, therfore hath he broughte them out, to destroye the in the wyldernesse:)

29. ये लोग तेरी प्रजा और निज भाग हैं, जिनको तू ने अपने बड़े सामर्थ्य और बलवन्त भुजा के द्वारा निकाल ले आया है।।

29. For they are thy people & thine enheritaunce, which thou hast broughte out wt thy greate power, and with thy stretched out arme.
