1. जिसके अण्ड कुचले गए वा लिंग काट डाला गया हो वह यहोवा की सभा में न आने पाए।।

1. A man with a crushed testicle or part of his sex organ cut off may not join with the men of Israel to worship the Lord.

2. कोई कुकर्म से जन्मा हुआ यहोवा की सभा में न आने पाए; किन्तु दस पीढ़ी तक उसके वंश का कोई यहोवा की सभा में न आने पाए।।

2. If a man's parents were not legally married, that man may not join with the men of Israel to worship the Lord. And none of his descendants to the tenth generation�may join in that group.

3. कोई अम्मोनी वा मोआबी यहोवा की सभा में न आने पाए; उनकी दसवीं पीढ़ी तक का कोई यहोवा की सभा में कभी न आने पाए;

3. 'An Ammonite or Moabite may not join with the men of Israel to worship the Lord. And none of their descendants�to the tenth generation�may join in that group.

4. इस कारण से कि जब तुम मि से निकलकर आते थे तब उन्हों ने अन्न जल लेकर मार्ग में तुम से भेंट नहीं की, और यह भी कि उन्हों ने अरम्नहरैम देश के पतोर नगरवाले बोर के पुत्रा बिलाम को तुझे शाप देने के लिये दक्षिणा दी।

4. The Ammonites and Moabites refused to give you bread and water on your trip at the time you came from Egypt. They also tried to hire Balaam to curse you. (Balaam was the son of Beor from the city of Pethor in Mesopotamia.)

5. परन्तु तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा ने तेरे निमित्त उसके शाप को आशीष से पलट दिया, इसलिये कि तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझ से प्रेम रखता था।

5. But the Lord your God refused to listen to Balaam. The Lord changed the curse into a blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you.

6. तू जीवन भर उनका कुशल और भलाई कभी न चाहना।

6. You must never try to make peace with the Ammonites or Moabites. As long as you live, don't be friendly to them.

7. किसी एदोमी से घृणा न करना, क्योंकि वह तेरा भाई है; किसी मिद्दी से भी घृणा न करना, क्योंकि उसके देश में तू परदेशी होकर रहा था।

7. 'You must not hate Edomites, because they are your relatives. You must not hate Egyptians, because you were a stranger in their land.

8. उनके जो परपोते उत्पन्न हों वे यहोवा की सभा में न आने पाएं।

8. The children of the third generation born to the Edomites and Egyptians may join with the people of Israel to worship the Lord.

9. जब तू शत्रुओं से लड़ने को जाकर छावनी डाले, तब सब प्रकार की बुरी बातों से बचा रहना।

9. When your army goes to fight against your enemies, stay away from everything that would make you unclean.

10. यदि तेरे बीच कोई पुरूष उस अशुद्धता से जो रात्रि को आप से आप हुआ करती है अशुद्ध हुआ हो, तो वह छावनी से बाहर जाए, और छावनी के भीतर न आए;

10. If there is any man who is unclean because he had a flow of semen during the night, he must go out of the camp. He must stay away from the camp.

11. परन्तु संध्या से कुछ पहिले वह स्नान करे, और जब सूर्य डूब जाए तब छावनी में आए।

11. Then, when evening comes, the man must bathe himself in water. And when the sun goes down, he may come into the camp again.

12. छावनी के बाहर तेरे दिशा फिरने का एक स्थान हुआ करे, और वहीं दिशा फिरने को जाया करना;

12. 'You also must have a place outside the camp where people can go to relieve themselves.

13. और तेरे पास के हथियारों में एक खनती भी रहे; और जब तू दिशा फिरने को बैठे, तब उस से खोदकर अपने मल को ढांप देना।

13. Among your weapons, you must also carry a stick to dig with. Then, when you relieve yourself, you must dig a hole and cover it up.

14. क्योंकि तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझ को बचाने और तेरे शत्रुओं को तुझ से हरवाने को तेरी छावनी के मध्य घूमता रहेगा, इसलिये तेरी छावनी पवित्रा रहनी चाहिये, ऐसा न हो कि वह तेरे मध्य में कोई अशुद्ध वस्तु देखकर तुझ से फिर जाए।।

14. This is because the Lord your God is there with you in your camp to save you and to help you defeat your enemies. So the camp must be holy. Then he will not see something disgusting and leave you.

15. जो दास अपने स्वामी के पास से भागकर तेरी शरण ले उसको उसके स्वामी के हाथ न पकड़ा देना;

15. 'If a slaves run away and come to you, don't force them to go back to their masters.

16. वह तेरे बीच जो नगर उसे अच्छा लगे उसी में तेरे संग रहने पाए; और तू उस पर अन्धेर न करना।।

16. Runaway slaves may live with you wherever they like in whatever city they choose. You must not trouble them.

17. इस्राएली स्त्रियों में से कोई देवदासी न हो, और न इस्राएलियों में से कोई पुरूष ऐसा बुरा काम करनेवाला हो।

17. 'An Israelite man or woman must never become a temple prostitute.

18. तू वेश्यापन की कमाई वा कुत्ते की कमाई किसी मन्नत को पूरी करने के लिये अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के घर में न लाना; क्योंकि तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा के समीप ये दोनों की दोनों कमाई घृणित कर्म है।।

18. The money earned by a prostitute, either a male or female, must not be brought to the special house of the Lord your God. That money cannot be used to pay for a gift that was promised to the Lord your God, because that kind of sin is disgusting to him.

19. अपने किसी भाई को ब्याज पर ऋण न देना, चाहे रूपया हो, चाहे भोजन- वस्तु हो, चाहे कोई वस्तु हो जो ब्याज पर दी जाति है, उसे ब्याज न देना।

19. When you loan something to another Israelite, you must not charge interest. Don't charge interest on money, on food or on anything that may earn interest.

20. तू परदेशी को ब्याज पर ऋण तो दे, परन्तु अपने किसी भाई से ऐसा न करना, ताकि जिस देश का अधिकारी होने को तू जा रहा है, वहां जिस जिस काम में अपना हाथ लगाए, उन सभों को तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझे आशीष दे।।

20. You may charge interest to a foreigner. But you must not charge interest to another Israelite. If you follow these rules, the Lord your God will bless you in everything you do in the land where you are going to live.

21. जब तू अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के लिये मन्नत माने, तो उसके पूरी करने में विलम्ब न करना; क्योंकि तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा उसे निश्चय तुझ से ले लेगा, और विलम्ब करने से तू पापी ठहरेगा।
मत्ती 5:33

21. When you make a promise to the Lord your God, don't be slow to pay everything you promised. The Lord your God will demand that you pay it. You will sin if you don't pay what you promised.

22. परन्तु यदि तू मन्नत न माने, तो तेरा कोई पाप नहीं।

22. If you don't make a promise, you are not sinning.

23. जो कुछ तेरे मुंह से निकले उसके पूरा करने में चौकसी करना; तू अपने मुंह से वचन देकर अपनी इच्छा से अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की जैसी मन्नत माने, वैसा ही स्वतंत्राता पूर्वक उसे पूरा करना।

23. But you must do what you say you will do. If you make a special promise to God, you chose to make that promise. God did not force you to make that promise. So you must do what you promised!

24. जब तू किसी दूसरे की दाख की बारी में जाए, तब पेट भर मनमाने दाख खा तो खा, परन्तु अपने पात्रा में कुछ न रखना।
मत्ती 12:1

24. 'When you go through another person's vineyard, you may eat as many grapes as you want. But you cannot put any of the grapes in your basket.

25. और जब तू किसी दूसरे के खड़े खेत में जाए, तब तू हाथ से बालें तोड़ सकता है, परन्तु किसी दूसरे के खड़े खेत पर हंसुआ न लगाना।।

25. When you go through another person's field of grain, you may eat all the grain you can pick with your hands. But you cannot use a sickle to cut that person's grain and take it with you.
