1. जो बातें मूसा ने यरदन के पार जंगल में, अर्थात् सूप के सामने के अराबा में, और पारान और तोपेल के बीच, और लाबान हसरोत और दीजाहाब में, सारे इस्त्राएलियों से कहीं वे ये हैं।

1. These bee the wordes which Moses spake vnto all Israel, on this side Iorden in the wildernesse, in the plaine, ouer against the red Sea, betweene Paran and Tophel, and Laban, and Hazeroth, and Di-zahab.

2. होरेब से कादेशबर्ने तक सेइर पहाड़ का मार्ग ग्यारह दिन का हैं।

2. There are eleuen dayes iourney from Horeb vnto Kadesh-barnea, by the way of mout Seir.

3. चालीसवें वर्ष के ग्यारहवें महीने के पहिले दिन को जो कुछ यहोवा ने मूसा को इस्त्राएलियों से कहने की आज्ञा दी थी, उसके अनुसार मूसा उन से ये बातें कहने लगा।

3. And it came to passe in the first day of the eleuenth moneth, in the fourtieth yeere that Moses spake vnto the children of Israel according vnto all that the Lord had giuen him in commandement vnto them,

4. अर्थात् जब मूसा ने ऐमोरियों के राजा हेशबोनवासी सीहोन और बाशान के राजा अशतारोतवासी ओग को एद्रेई में मार डाला,

4. After that he had slaine Sihon the king of the Amorites which dwelt in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, which dwelt at Ashtaroth in Edrei.

5. उसके बाद यरदन के पार मोआब देश में वह व्यवस्था का विवरण यों करने लगा,

5. On this side Iorden in the lande of Moab began Moses to declare this lawe, saying,

6. कि हमारे परमेश्वर यहोवा ने होरेब के पास हम से कहा था, कि तुम लोगों को इस पहाड़ के पास रहते हुए बहुत दिन हो गए हैं;

6. The Lord our God spake vnto vs in Horeb, saying, Ye haue dwelt long ynough in this mount,

7. इसलिये अब यहॉ से कूच करो, और एमोरियों के पहाड़ी देश को, और क्या अराबा में, क्या पहाड़ों में, क्या नीचे के देश में, क्या दक्खिन देश में, क्या समुद्र के तीर पर, जितने लोग एमोरियों के पास रहते हैं उनके देश को, अर्थात् लबानोन पर्वत तक और परात नाम महानद तक रहनेवाले कनानियों के देश को भी चले जाओ।

7. Turne you and depart, and goe vnto the mountaine of the Amorites, and vnto all places neere thereunto in the plaine, in the mountaine, or in the valley: both Southwarde, and to the Sea side, to the land of the Canaanites, and vnto Lebanon: euen vnto the great riuer, the riuer Perath.

8. सुनो, मैं उस देश को तुम्हारे साम्हने किऐ देता हॅू; जिस देश के विषय यहोवा ने इब्राहीम, इसहाक, और याकूब, तुम्हारे पितरों से शपथ खाकर कहा था, कि मैं इसे तुम को और तुम्हारे बाद तुम्हारे वंश को दूंगा, उसको अब जाकर अपने अधिकार में कर लो।

8. Beholde, I haue set the land before you: go in and possesse that land which the Lord sware vnto your fathers, Abraham, Izhak, and Iaakob, to giue vnto them and to their seede after them.

9. फिर उसी समय मैं ने तुम से कहा, कि मैं तुम्हारा भार अकेला नहीं सह सकता;

9. And I spake vnto you the same time, saying, I am not able to beare you my selfe alone:

10. क्योंकि तुम्हारे परमेश्वर यहोवा ने तुम को यहॉ तक बढ़ाया है, कि तुम गिनती में आज आकाश के तारों के समान हो गये हो।

10. The Lord your God hath multiplied you: and beholde, ye are this day as the starres of heauen in nomber:

11. तुम्हारे पितरों का परमेश्वर तुम को हजारगुणा और भी बढ़ाए, और अपने वचन के अनुसार तुम को आशीष भी देता रहे।

11. (The Lord God of your fathers make you a thousand times so many moe as ye are, and blesse you, as he hath promised you)

12. परन्तु तुम्हारे जंजाल, और भार, और झगड़े रगड़े को मैं अकेला कहॉ तक सह सकता हॅू।

12. Howe can I alone beare your combrance and your charge, and your strife?

13. सो तुम अपने एक एक गोत्रा में से बुद्धिमान और समझदार और प्रसिद्ध पुरूष चुन लो, और मैं उन्हें तुम पर मुखिया ठहराऊॅगा।

13. Bring you men of wisedome and of vnderstanding, and knowen among your tribes, and I will make them rulers ouer you:

14. इसके उत्तर में तुम ने मुझ से कहा, जो कुछ तू हम से कहता है उसका करना अच्छा है।

14. Then ye answered me and said, The thing is good that thou hast commanded vs to doe.

15. इसलिये मैं ने तुम्हारे गोत्रों के मुख्य पुरूषों को जो बुद्धिमान और प्रसिद्ध पुरूष थे चुनकर तुम पर मुखिया नियुक्त किया, अर्थात् हजार हजार, सौ सौ, पचास पचास, और दस दस के ऊपर प्रधान और तुम्हारे गोत्रों के सरदार भी नियुक्त किए।

15. So I tooke the chiefe of your tribes wise and knowen men, and made them rulers ouer you, captaines ouer thousands, and captaines ouer hundreds, and captaines ouer fiftie, and captaines ouer tenne, and officers among your tribes.

16. और उस समय मैं ने तुम्हारे न्यायियों को आज्ञा दी, कि तुम अपने भाइयों के मुक मे सुना करो, और उनके बीच और उनके पड़ोसियों और परदेशियों के बीच भी धर्म से न्याय किया करो।

16. And I charged your iudges that same time, saying, Heare the controuersies betweene your brethren, and iudge righteously betweene euery man and his brother, and the stranger that is with him.

17. न्याय करते समय किसी का पक्ष न करना; जैसे बड़े की वैसे ही छोटे मनुष्य की भी सुनना; किसी का मुॅह देखकर न डरना, क्योंकि न्याय परमेश्वर का काम है; और जो मुक मा तुम्हारे लिये कठिन हो, वह मेरे पास ले आना, और मैं उसे सुनूंगा।

17. Ye shall haue no respect of person in iudgement, but shall heare the small aswell as the great: yee shall not feare the face of man: for the iudgement is Gods: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring vnto me, and I will heare it.

18. और मैं ने उसी समय तुम्हारे सारे कर्त्तव्य कर्म तुम को बता दिए।।

18. Also I commanded you the same time all the things which ye should doe.

19. और हम होरेब से कूच करके अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की आज्ञा के अनुसार उस सारे बड़े और भयानक जंगल में होकर चले, जिसे तुम ने एमोरियों के पहाड़ी देश के मार्ग में देखा, और हम कादेशबर्ने तक आए।

19. Then we departed from Horeb, and went through all that great and terrible wildernesse (as yee haue seene) by the way of the mountaine of the Amorites, as the Lord our God commanded vs: and we came to Kadesh-barnea.

20. वहाँ मैं ने तुम से कहा, तुम एमोरियों के पहाड़ी देश तक आ गए हो जिसको हमारा परमेश्वर यहोवा हमें देता है।

20. And I saide vnto you, Yee are come vnto the mountaine of the Amorites, which the Lord our God doeth giue vnto vs.

21. देखो, उस देश को तुम्हारा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुम्हारे साम्हने किए देता है, इसलिऐ अपने पितरों के परमेश्वर यहोवा के वचन के अनुसार उस पर चढ़ो, और उसे अपने अधिकार में ले लो; न तो तुम डरो और न तुम्हारा मन कच्चा हो।

21. Beholde, the Lord thy God hath layde the land before thee: go vp and possesse it, as the Lord the God of thy fathers hath saide vnto thee: feare not, neither be discouraged.

22. और तुम सब मेरे पास आकर कहने लगे, हम अपने आगे पुरूषों को भेज देंगे, जो उस देश का पता लगाकर हम को यह सन्देश दें, कि कौन सा मार्ग होकर चलना होगा और किस किस नगर में प्रवेश करना पड़ेगा?

22. Then ye came vnto me euery one, and said, We wil send men before vs, to search vs out the land and to bring vs word againe, what way we must go vp by, and vnto what cities we shall come.

23. इस बात से प्रसन्न होकर मैं ने तुम में से बारह पुरूष, अर्थात् गोत्रा पीछे एक पुरूष चुन लिया;

23. So the saying pleased me well, and I tooke twelue men of you, of euery tribe one.

24. और वे पहाड़ पर चढ़ गए, और एशकोल नाम नाले को पहुँचकर उस देश का भेद लिया।

24. Who departed, and went vp into the mountaine, and came vnto the riuer Eshcol, and searched out the land.

25. और उस देश के फलों में से कुछ हाथ में लेकर हमारे पास आए, और हम को यह सन्देश दिया, कि जो देश हमारा परमेश्वर यहोवा हमें देता है वह अच्छा है।

25. And tooke of the fruite of the land in their hands, and brought it vnto vs, and brought vs worde againe, and sayd, It is a good land, which the Lord our God doeth giue vs.

26. तौभी तुम ने वहाँ जाने से नाह किया, किन्तु अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की आज्ञा के विरूद्ध होकर

26. Notwithstanding, ye would not go vp, but were disobedient vnto the commandement of the Lord your God,

27. अपने अपने डेरे में यह कहकर कुड़कुड़ाने लगे, कि यहोवा हम से बैर रखता है, इस कारण हम को मि देश से निकाल ले आया है, कि हम को एमोरियों के वश में करके सत्यनाश कर डाले।

27. And murmured in your tentes, and sayd, Because the Lord hated vs, therefore hath hee brought vs out of the land of Egypt, to deliuer vs into the hand of the Amorites, and to destroy vs.

28. हम किधर जाएँ? हमारे भाइयोें ने यह कहके हमारे मन को कच्चा कर दिया है, कि वहाँ के लोग हम से बड़े और लम्बे हैं; और वहाँ के नगर बड़े बड़े हैं, और उनकी शहरपनाह आकाश से बातें करती हैं; और हम ने वहाँ अनाकवंशियों को भी देखा है।

28. Whither shall we go vp? our brethren haue discouraged our hearts, saying, The people is greater, and taller then we: the cities are great and walled vp to heauen: and moreouer we haue seene the sonnes of the Anakims there.

29. मैं ने तुम से कहा, उनके कारण त्रास मत खाओ और न डरो।

29. But I sayd vnto you, Dread not, nor be afrayd of them.

30. तुम्हारा परमेश्वर यहोवा जो तुम्हारे आगे आगे चलता है वह आप तुम्हारी ओर से लड़ेगा, जैसे कि उस ने मिस्र में तुम्हारे देखते तुम्हारे लिये किया;

30. The Lord your God, who goeth before you, he shall fight for you, according to all that he did vnto you in Egypt before your eyes,

31. फिर तुम ने जंगल में भी देखा, कि जिस रीति कोई पुरूष अपने लड़के को उठाए चलता है, उसी रीति हमारा परमेश्वर यहोवा हम को इस स्थान पर पहुँचने तक, उस सारे मार्ग में जिस से हम आए हैं, उठाये रहा।
प्रेरितों के काम 13:18

31. And in the wildernesse, where thou hast seene how the Lord thy God bare thee, as a man doeth beare his sonne, in all the way which ye haue gone, vntill ye came vnto this place.

32. इस बात पर भी तुम ने अपने उस परमेश्वर यहोवा पर विश्वास नहीं किया,

32. Yet for all this ye did not beleeue the Lord your God,

33. जो तुम्हारे आगे आगे इसलिये चलता रहा, कि डेरे डालने का स्थान तुम्हारे लिये ढूंढ़े, और रात को आग में और दिन को बादल में प्रगट होकर चला, ताकि तुम को वह मार्ग दिखाए जिस से तुम चलो।

33. Who went in the way before you, to search you out a place to pitch your tentes in, in fire by night, that ye might see what way to goe, and in a cloude by day.

34. परन्तु तुम्हारी वे बातें सुनकर यहोवा का कोप भड़क उठा, और उस ने यह शपथ खाई,

34. Then the Lord heard the voyce of your wordes, and was wroth, and sware, saying,

35. कि निश्चय इस बुरी पीढ़ी के मनुष्यों में से एक भी उस अच्छे देश को देखने न पाऐगा, जिसे मैं ने उनके पितरों को देने की शपथ खाई थी।

35. Surely there shall not one of these men of this froward generation, see that good land, which I sware to giue vnto your fathers,

36. यपुन्ने का पुत्रा कालेब ही उसे देखने पाऐगा, और जिस भूमि पर उसके पाँव पड़े हैं उसे मैं उसको और उसके वंश को भी दूंगा; क्योंकि वह मेरे पीछे पूरी रीति से हो लिया है।

36. Saue Caleb the sonne of Iephunneh: he shall see it, and to him will I giue the land that he hath troden vpon, and to his children, because he hath constantly followed the Lord.

37. और मुझ पर भी यहोवा तुम्हारे कारण क्रोधित हुआ, और यह कहा, कि तू भी वहाँ जाने न पाएगा;

37. Also the Lord was angry with me for your sakes, saying, Thou also shalt not goe in thither,

38. नून का पुत्रा यहोशू जो तेरे साम्हने खड़ा रहता है, वह तो वहाँ जाने पाएगा; सो तू उसको हियाव दे, क्योंकि उस देश को इस्राएलियों के अधिकार में वही कर देगा।

38. But Ioshua the sonne of Nun which standeth before thee, he shall go in thither: incourage him: for he shall cause Israel to inherite it.

39. फिर तुम्हारे बालबच्चे जिनके विषय में तुम कहते हो, कि ये लूट में चले जाएंगे, और तुम्हारे जो लड़केबाले अभी भले बुरे का भेद नहीं जानते, वे वहाँ प्रवेश करेंगे, और उनको मैं वह देश दूँगा, और वे उसके अधिकारी होंगे।

39. Moreouer, your children, which ye sayd should be a praye, and your sonnes, which in that day had no knowledge betweene good and euill, they shall go in thither, and vnto them wil I giue it, and they shall possesse it.

40. परन्तु तुम लोग घूमकर कूच करो, और लाल समुद्र के मार्ग से जंगल की ओर जाओ।

40. But as for you, turne backe, and take your iourney into the wildernesse by the way of the red Sea.

41. तब तुम ने मुझ से कहा, हम ने यहोवा के विरूद्व पाप किया हैं; अब हम अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की आज्ञा के अनुसार चढ़ाई करेंगे और लड़ेंगे। तब तुम अपने अपने हथियार बान्धकर पहाड़ पर बिना सोचे समझे चढ़ने को तैयार हो गए।

41. Then ye answered and sayd vnto me, We haue sinned against the Lord, we wil go vp, and fight, according to all that the Lord our God hath commanded vs: and ye armed you euery man to the warre, and were ready to goe vp into the mountaine.

42. तब यहोवा ने मुझ से कहा, उन से कह दे, कि तुम मत चढ़ो, और न लड़ो; क्योंकि मैं तुम्हारे मध्य में नहीं हँू; कहीं ऐसा न हो कि तुम अपने शत्रुओं से हार जाओ।

42. But the Lord said vnto me, Say vnto them, Goe not vp, neither fight, (for I am not among you) least ye fall before your enemies.

43. यह बात मैं ने तुम से कह दी, परन्तु तुम ने न मानी; किन्तु ढ़िठाई से यहोवा की आज्ञा का उल्लंघन करके पहाड़ पर चढ़ गए।

43. And when I told you, ye would not heare, but rebelled against the commandement of the Lord, and were presumptuous, and went vp into the mountaine.

44. तब उस पहाड़ के निवासी एमोरियों ने तुम्हारा साम्हना करने को निकलकर मधुमक्खियों की नाई तुम्हारा पीछा किया, और सेईर देश के होर्मा तक तुम्हें मारते मारते चले आए।

44. Then the Amorites which dwelt in that mountaine came out against you, and chased you (as bees vse to doe) and destroied you in Seir, euen vnto Hormah.

45. तब तुम लौटकर यहोवा के साम्हने रोने लगे; परन्तु यहोवा ने तुम्हारी न सुनी, न तुम्हारी बातों पर कान लगाया।

45. And when ye came againe, ye wept before the Lord, but the Lord would not heare your voyce, nor incline his eares vnto you.

46. और तुम कादेश में बहुत दिनों तक पड़े रहे, यहाँ तक कि एक जुग हो गया।।

46. So ye abode in Kadesh a long time, according to the time that ye had remained before.
