1. फिर यहोवा ने हारून से कहा, कि पवित्रास्थान के अधर्म का भार तुझ पर, और तेरे पुत्रों और तेरे पिता के घराने पर होगा; और तुम्हारा याजक कर्म के अधर्म का भार भी तेरे पुत्रों पर होगा।

1. AND THE Lord said to Aaron, You and your sons and your father's house with you shall bear and remove the iniquity of the sanctuary [that is, the guilt for the offenses which the people unknowingly commit when brought into contact with the manifestations of God's presence]. And you and your sons with you shall bear and remove the iniquity of your priesthood [your own unintentional offenses].

2. और लेवी का गोत्रा, अर्थात् तेरे मूलपुरूष के गोत्रावाले जो तेरे भाई हैं, उनको भी अपने साथ ले आया कर, और वे तुझ से मिल जाएं, और तेरी सेवा टहल किया करें, परन्तु साक्षीपत्रा के तम्बू के साम्हने तू और तेरे पुत्रा ही आया करें।

2. And your brethren also of the tribe of Levi, the tribe of your [fore]father, bring with you, that they may be joined to you and minister to you; but only you and your sons with you shall come before the Tent of the Testimony [into the Holy Place where only priests may go and into the Most Holy Place which only the high priest dares enter].

3. जो तुझे सौंपा गया है उसकी और सारे तम्बू की भी वे रक्षा किया करें; परन्तु पवित्रास्थान के पात्रों के और वेदी के समीप न आएं, ऐसा न हो कि वे और तुम लोग भी मर जाओ।

3. And the Levites shall attend you [as servants] and attend to all the duties of the Tent; only they shall not come near the sacred vessels of the sanctuary or to the brazen altar, that they and also you [Aaron] die not.

4. सो वे तुझ से मिल जाएं, और मिलापवाले तम्बू की सारी सेवकाई की वस्तुओं की रक्षा किया करें; परन्तु जो तेरे कुल का न हो वह तुम लोगों के समीप न आने पाए।

4. And they shall be joined to you and attend to the duties of the Tent of Meeting--all the [menial] service of the Tent--and no stranger [no layman, anyone who is not a Levite] shall come near you [Aaron and your sons].

5. और पवित्रास्थान और वेदी की रखवाली तुम ही किया करो, जिस से इस्त्राएलियों पर फिर कोप न भड़के।

5. And you shall attend to the duties of the sanctuary and attend to the altar [of burnt offering and the altar of incense], that there be no wrath any more upon the Israelites [as in the incident of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram]. [Num. 16:42-50.]

6. परन्तु मैं ने आप तुम्हारे लेवी भाइयों को इस्त्राएलियों के बीच से अलग कर लिया है, और वे मिलापवाले तम्बू की सेवा करने के लिये तुम को और यहोवा को सौंप दिये गए हैं।

6. And I, behold, I have taken your brethren the Levites from among the Israelites; to you they are a gift, given to the Lord, to do the [menial] service of the Tent of Meeting.

7. पर वेदी की और बीचवाले पर्दे के भीतर की बातों की सेवकाई के लिये तू और तेरे पुत्रा अपने याजकपद की रक्षा करना, और तुम ही सेवा किया करना; क्योंकि मैं तुम्हें याजकपद की सेवकाई दान करता हूं; और जो तेरे कुल का न हो वह यदि समीप आए तो मार डाला जाए।।

7. Therefore you and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood for everything of the altar [of burnt offering and the altar of incense] and [of the Holy of Holies] within the veil, and you shall serve. I give you your priesthood as a service of gift. And the stranger [anyone other than Moses or your sons, Aaron] who comes near shall be put to death. [Exod. 40:18, 20, 26.]

8. फिर यहोवा ने हारून से कहा, सुन, मै आप तुझ को उठाई हुई भेंट सौंप देता हूं, अर्थात् इस्त्राएलियों की पवित्रा की हुई वस्तुएं; जितनी हों उन्हें मैं तेरा अभिषेक वाला भाग ठहराकर तुझे और तेरे पुत्रों को सदा का हक करके दे देता हूं।
1 कुरिन्थियों 9:13

8. And the Lord said to Aaron, And I, behold, I have given you the charge of My heave offerings [whatever is taken out and kept of the offerings made to Me], all the dedicated and consecrated things of the Israelites; to you have I given them [as your portion] and to your sons as a continual allowance forever by reason of your anointing as priests. [Lev. 7:35.]

9. जो परमपवित्रा वस्तुएं आग में होम न ही जाएंगी वे तेरी ही ठहरें, अर्थात् इस्त्राएलियों के सब चढ़ावों में से उनके सब अन्नबलि, सब पापबलि, और सब दोषबलि, जो वे मुझ को दें, वह तेरे और तेरे पुत्रों के लिये परमपवित्रा ठहरें।

9. This shall be yours of the most holy things, reserved from the fire: every offering of the people, every cereal offering and sin offering and trespass offering of theirs, which they shall render to Me, shall be most holy for you [Aaron] and for your sons.

10. उनको परमपवित्रा वस्तु जानकर खाया करना; उनको हर एक पुरूष खा सकता है; वे तेरे लिये पवित्रा हैं।

10. As the most holy thing and in a sacred place shall you eat of it; every male [of your house] shall eat of it. It shall be holy to you. [Lev. 22:10-16.]

11. फिर ये वस्तुएं भी तेरी ठहरें, अर्थात् जितनी भेंट इस्त्राएली हिलाने के लिये दें, उनको मैं तुझे और तेरे बेटे- बेटियों को सदा का हक करके दे देता हूं; तेरे घराने में जितने शुद्ध हों वह उन्हें खा सकेंगे।

11. And this also is yours: the heave offering of their gift, with all the wave offerings of the Israelites. I have given them to you and to your sons and to your daughters with you as a continual allowance forever; everyone in your house who is [ceremonially] clean may eat of it.

12. फिर उत्तम से उत्तम नया दाखमधु, और गेहूं, अर्थात् इनकी पहली उपज जो वे यहोवा को दें, वह मैं तुझ को देता हूं।

12. All the best of the oil, and all the best of the [fresh] wine and of the grain, the firstfruits of what they give to the Lord, to you have I given them.

13. उनके देश के सब प्रकार की पहली उपज, जो वे यहोवा के लिये ले आएं, वह तेरी ही ठहरे; तेरे घराने में जितने शुद्ध हों वे उन्हें खा सकेंगें।

13. Whatever is first ripe in the land, which they bring to the Lord, shall be yours. Everyone who is [ceremonially] clean in your house may eat of it.

14. इस्त्राएलियों में जो कुछ अर्पण किया जाए वह भी तेरा ही ठहरे।

14. Every devoted thing in Israel [everything that has been vowed to the Lord] shall be yours.

15. सब प्राणियों में से जितने अपनी अपनी मां के पहिलौठे हों, जिन्हें लोग यहोवा के लिये चढ़ाएं, चाहे मनुष्य के चाहे पशु के पहिलौठे हों, वे सब तेरे ही ठहरें; परन्तु मनुष्यों और अशुद्ध पशुओं के पहिलौठों को दाम लेकर छोड़ देना।

15. Everything that first opens the womb in all flesh, which they bring to the Lord, whether it be of men or beasts, shall be yours. Nevertheless the firstborn of man you shall surely redeem, and the firstling of unclean beasts you shall redeem.

16. और जिन्हें छुड़ाना हो, जब वे महीने भर के हों तब उनके लिये अपने ठहराए हुए मोल के अनुसार, अर्थात् पवित्रास्थान के बीस गेरा के शेकेल के हिसाब से पांच शेकेल लेके उन्हें छोड़ना।

16. And those that are to be redeemed of them, from a month old shall you redeem, according to your estimate [of their age], for the fixed price of five shekels in silver, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, which is twenty gerahs.

17. पर गाय, वा भेड़ी, वा बकरी के पहिलौठे को न छोड़ना; वे तो पवित्रा हैं। उनके लोहू को वेदी पर छिड़क देना, और उनकी चरबी को हव्य करके जलाना, जिस से यहोवा के लिये सुखदायक सुगन्ध हो;

17. But the firstling of a cow or of a sheep or of a goat you shall not redeem. They [as the firstborn of clean beasts belong to God and] are holy. You shall sprinkle their blood upon the altar and shall burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet and soothing odor to the Lord.

18. परन्तु उनका मांस तेरा ठहरे, और हिलाई हुई छाती, और दहिनी जांघ भी तेरा ही ठहरे।

18. And the flesh of them shall be yours, as the wave breast and as the right shoulder are yours.

19. पवित्रा वस्तुओं की जितनी भेंटें इस्त्राएली यहोवा को दें, उन सभों को मैं तुझे और तेरे बेटे- बेटियों को सदा का हक करके दे देता हूं: यह तो तेरे और तेरे वंश के लिये यहोवा की सदा के लिये नमक की अटल वाचा है।

19. All the heave offerings [the lifted-out and kept portions] of the holy things which the Israelites give to the Lord I give to you and to your sons and your daughters with you, as a continual debt forever. It is a covenant of salt [that cannot be dissolved or violated] forever before the Lord for you [Aaron] and for your posterity with you.

20. फिर यहोवा ने हारून से कहा, इस्त्राएलियों के देश में तेरा कोई भाग न होगा, और न उनके बीच तेरा कोई अंश होगा; उनके बीच तेरा भाग और तेरा अंश मैं ही हूं।।

20. And the Lord said to Aaron, You shall have no inheritance in the land [of the Israelites], neither shall you have any part among them. I am your portion and your inheritance among the Israelites.

21. फिर मिलापवाले तम्बू की जो सेवा लेवी करते हैं उसके बदले मैं उनको इस्त्राएलियों का सब दशमांश उनका निज भाग कर देता हूं।
इब्रानियों 7:5

21. And, behold, I have given the Levites all the tithes in Israel for an inheritance in return for their service which they serve, the [menial] service of the Tent of Meeting.

22. और भविष्य में इस्त्राएली मिलापवाले तम्बू के समीप न आएं, ऐसा न हो कि उनके सिर पर पाप लगे, और वे मर जाएं।

22. Henceforth the Israelites shall not come near the Tent of Meeting [the covered sanctuary, the Holy Place, and the Holy of Holies], lest they incur guilt and die.

23. परन्तु लेवी मिलापवाले तम्बू की सेवा किया करें, और उनके अधर्म का भार वे ही उठाया करें; यह तुम्हारी पीढ़ीयों में सदा की विधि ठहरे; और इस्त्राएलियों के बीच उनका कोई निज भाग न होगा।

23. But the Levites shall do the [menial] service of the Tent of Meeting, and they shall bear and remove the iniquity of the people [that is, be answerable for the legal pollutions of the holy things and offer the necessary atonements for unintentional offenses in these matters]. It shall be a statute forever in all your generations, that among the Israelites the Levites have no inheritance [of land].

24. क्योंकि इस्त्राएली जो दशमांश यहोवा को उठाई हुई भेंट करके देंगे, उसे मैं लेवियों को निज भाग करके देता हूं, इसीलिये मैं ने उनके विषय में कहा है, कि इस्त्राएलियों के बीच कोई भाग उनको न मिले।

24. But the tithes of the Israelites, which they present as an offering to the Lord, I have given to the Levites to inherit; therefore I have said to them, Among the Israelites they shall have no inheritance. [They have homes and cities and pasturage to use but not to possess as their personal inheritance.]

25. फिर यहोवा ने मूसा से कहा,

25. And the Lord said to Moses,

26. तू लेवियों से कह, कि जब जब तुम इस्त्राएलियों के हाथ से वह दशमांश लो जिसे यहोवा तुम को तुम्हारा निज भाग करके उन से दिलाता है, तब तब उस में से यहोवा के लिये एक उठाई हुई भेंट करके दशमांश का दशमांश देना।

26. Moreover, you shall say to the Levites, When you take from the Israelites the tithe which I have given you from them for your inheritance, then you shall present an offering from it to the Lord, even a tenth of the tithe [paid by the people].

27. और तुम्हारी उठाई हुई भेंट तुम्हारे हित के लिये ऐसी गिनी जाएगी जैसा खलिहान में का अन्न, वा रसकुण्ड में का दाखरस गिना जाता है।

27. And what you lift out and keep [your heave offering] shall be credited to you as though it were the grain of the threshing floor or as the fully ripe produce of the vine.

28. इस रीति तुम भी अपने सब दशमांशों में से, जो इस्त्राएलियों की ओर से पाओगे, यहोवा को एक उठाई हुई भेंट देना; और यहोवा की यह उठाई हुई भेंट हारून याजक को दिया करना।

28. Likewise you shall also present an offering to the Lord of all your tithes which you receive from the Israelites; and therefore you shall give this heave offering [lifted out and kept] for the Lord to Aaron the priest.

29. जितने दान तुम पाओ उन में से हर एक का उत्तम से उत्तम भाग, जो पवित्रा ठहरा है, सो उसे यहोवा के लिये उठाई हुई भेंट करके पूरी पूरी देना।

29. Out of all the gifts to you, you shall present every offering due to the Lord, of all the best of it, even the hallowed part lifted out and held back out of it [for the Levites].

30. इसलिये तू लेवियों से कह, कि जब तुम उस में का उत्तम से उत्तम भाग उठाकर दो, तब यह तुम्हारे लिये खलिहान में के अन्न, और रसकुण्ड के रस के तुल्य गिना जाएगा;

30. Therefore you shall say to them, When you have lifted out and held back the best from it [and presented it to the Lord by giving it to yourselves, the Levites], then it shall be counted to [you] the Levites just as if it were the increase of the threshing floor or of the winepress.

31. और उसको तुम अपने घरानों समेत सब स्थानों में खा सकते हो, क्योंकि मिलापवाले तम्बू की जो सेवा तुम करोगे उसका बदला यही ठहरा है।
मत्ती 10:10, 1 कुरिन्थियों 9:13

31. And you may eat it in every place, you and your households, for it is your reward for your service in the Tent of Meeting.

32. और जब तुम उसका उत्तम से उत्तम भाग उठाकर दो तब उसके कारण तुम को पाप न लगेगा। परन्तु इस्त्राएलियों की पवित्रा की हुई वस्तुओं को अपवित्रा न करना, ऐसा न हो कि तुम मर जाओ।।

32. And you shall be guilty of no sin by reason of it when you have lifted out and held back the best of it; neither shall you have polluted the holy things of the Israelites, neither shall you die [because of it].
