1. जितने यहूदी लोग मिस्र देश में मिग्दोल, तहपन्हेस और नोप नगरों और पत्रोस देश में रहते थे, उनके विषय यिर्मयाह के पास यह वचन पहुंचा,

1. Jeremiah received a message from the Lord for all the people of Judah living in Egypt. The message was for the people of Judah living in the towns of Migdol, Tahpanhes, Memphis, and southern Egypt. This was the message:

2. इस्राएल का परमेश्वर, सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है कि जो विपत्ति मैं यरूशलेम और यहूदा के सब नगरों पर डाल चुका हूँ, वह सब तुम लोगों ने देखी है। देखो, वे आज के दिन कैसे उजड़े हुए और निर्जन हैं,

2. This is what the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, says: You people saw the disasters that I brought on the city of Jerusalem and on all the towns of Judah. The towns are empty piles of stones today.

3. क्योंकि उनके निवासियों ने वह बुराई की जिस से उन्हों ने मुझे रिस दिलाई थी वे जाकर दूसरे देवताओं के लिये धूप जलाते थे और उनकी उपासना करते थे, जिन्हें न तो तुम और न तुम्हारे पुरखा जानते थे।

3. They were destroyed because the people living in them did evil. They gave sacrifices to other gods, and that made me angry! Your people and your ancestors did not worship those gods in the past.

4. तौभी मैं अपने सब दास भविष्यद्वक्ताओं को बड़े यत्न से यह कहने के लिये तुम्हारे पास भेजता रहा कि यह घृणित काम मत करो, जिस से मैं घृणा रखता हूँ।

4. I sent my servants, the prophets, to those people again and again. They spoke my message and said to the people, 'Don't do this terrible thing. I hate for you to worship idols. '

5. पर उन्हों ने मेरी न सुनी और न मेरी ओर कान लगाया कि अपनी बुराई से फिरें और दूसरे देवताओं के लिये धूम न जलाएं।

5. But they didn't listen to the prophets or pay attention to them. They didn't stop doing wicked things. They didn't stop making sacrifices to other gods.

6. इस कारण मेरी जलजलाहट और कोप की आग यहूदा के नगरों और यरूशलेम की सड़कों पर भड़क गई; और वे आज के दिन तक उजाड़ और सुनसान पड़े हैं।

6. So I showed my anger against them. I punished the towns of Judah and the streets of Jerusalem. My anger made Jerusalem and the towns of Judah the empty piles of stone they are today.

7. अब यहोवा, सेनाओं का परमेश्वर, जो इस्राएल का परमेश्वर है, यों कहता है, तुम लोग क्यों अपनी यह बड़ी हानि करते हो, कि क्या पुरूष, क्या स्त्री, क्या बालक, क्या दूधपिउवा बच्चा, तुम सब यहूदा के बीच से नाश किए जाओ, और कोइ न रहे?

7. 'So this is what the Lord God All- Powerful, the God of Israel, says: Why are you hurting yourselves by continuing to worship idols? You are separating the men and women, the children and babies from the family of Judah. And so you leave yourselves without anyone left from the family of Judah.

8. क्योंकि इस मिस्र देश में जहां तुम परदेशी होकर रहने के लिये आए हो, तुम अपने कामों के द्वारा, अर्थात् दूसरे देवताओं के लिये धूप जलाकर मुझे रिस दिलाते हो जिस से तुम नाश हो जाओगे ओर पृथ्वी भर की सब जातियों के लोग तुम्हारी जाति की नामधराई करेंगे और तुम्हारी उपमा देकर शाप दिया करेंगे।

8. Why do you people want to make me angry by making idols? Now you are living in Egypt. And now you are making me angry by offering sacrifices to the false gods of Egypt. You will destroy yourselves, and it will be your own fault. The people of all the other nations on earth will say bad things about you and make fun of you.

9. जो जो बुराइयां तुम्हारे पुरखा, यहूदा के राजा और उनकी स्त्रियां, और तुम्हारी स्त्रियां, वरन तुम आप यहूदा देश और यरूशलेम की सड़कों में करते थे, क्या उसे तुम भूल गए हो?

9. Have you forgotten about the wicked things your ancestors did? And have you forgotten about the wicked things the kings and queens of Judah did? Have you forgotten about the wicked things you and your wives did in Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?

10. आज के दिन तक उनका मन चूर नहीं हुआ ओर न वे डरते हैं; और न मेरी उस व्यवस्था और उन विधियों पर चलते हैं जो मैं ने तुम्हारे पूर्वजों को और तुम को भी सुनवाई हैं।

10. Even to this day the people of Judah have not made themselves humble. They have not shown any respect for me, and they have not followed my teachings. They have not obeyed the laws I gave you and your ancestors.'

11. इस कारण इस्राएल का परमेश्वर, सेनाओं का यहोवा, यों कहता है, देखो, मैं तुम्हारे विरूद्व होकर तुम्हारी हानि करूंगा, ताकि सब यहूदियों का अन्त कर दूं।

11. 'So this is what the Lord All-Powerful, the God of Israel, says: I have decided to make terrible things happen to you. I will destroy the whole family of Judah.

12. और बचे हुए यहूदी जो हठ करके मिस्र देश में आकर रहने लगे हैं, वे सब मिट जाएंगे; इस मिस्र देश में छोटे से लेकर बड़े तक वे तलवार और महंगी के द्वारा मरक मिट जाएंगे; और लोग उन्हें कोसेंगे और चकित होंगे; और उनकी उपमा देकर शाप दिया करेंगे और निन्दा भी करेंगे।

12. There were a few survivors from Judah. They came here to Egypt. But I will destroy the few survivors from the family of Judah. They will be killed with swords or die from hunger. The people of other nations will point at them and wish evil for them. People will be shocked and frightened by what has happened to them. The name of Judah will become a curse word and an insult.

13. सो जैसा मैं ने यरूशलेम को तलवार, महंगी और मरी के द्वारा दण्ड दिया है, वैसा ही मिस्र देश में रहनेवालों को भी दण्ड दूंगा,

13. I will punish those who have gone to live in Egypt. I will use swords, hunger, and terrible sicknesses to punish them. I will punish them just as I punished the city of Jerusalem.

14. कि जो बचे हुए यहूदी मिस्र देश में परदेशी होकर रहने के लिये आए हैं, यद्यपि वे यहूदा देश में रहने के लिये लौटने की बड़ी अभिलाषा रखते हैं, तौभी उन में से एक भी बचकर वहां न लौटने पाएगा; केवल कुछ ही भागे हुओं को छोड़ कोई भी वहां न लौटने पाएगा।

14. Not one of the few survivors of Judah who have gone to live in Egypt will escape my punishment. None of them will survive to come back to Judah. They want to come back to Judah and live there. But not one of them will go back to Judah, except a few people who escape.'

15. तब मिस्र देश के पत्रोस में रहनेवाले जितने पुरूष जानते थे कि उनकी स्त्रियां दूसरे देवताओं के लिये धूप जलाती हैं, और जितनी स्त्रियां बड़ी मण्डली में पास खड़ी थी, उन सभों ने यिर्मयाह को यह उत्तर दिया,

15. There were many people from Judah living in southern Egypt. Many of the women from Judah were meeting together in a large group and making sacrifices to other gods, and their husbands knew what they were doing. Those men said to Jeremiah,

16. जो वचन तू ने हम को यहोवा के नाम से सुनाया है, उसको हम नहीं सुनने की।

16. 'We will not listen to the message from the Lord that you spoke to us.

17. जो जो मन्नतें हम मान चुके हैं उन्हें हम निश्चय पूरी करेंगी, हम स्वर्ग की रानी के लिये धूप जलाएंगे और तपावन देंगे, जैसे कि हमारे पुरखा लोग और हम भी अपने राजाओं और और हाकिमों समेत यहूदा के नगरों में और यरूशलेम की सड़कों में करते थे; क्योंकि उस समय हम पेट भरके खाते और भले चंगे रहते और किसी विपत्ति में नहीं पड़ते थे।

17. We promised to make sacrifices to the Queen of Heaven, and we will do everything we promised. We will offer sacrifices and pour out drink offerings in worship to her. We did that in the past. Our ancestors, our kings, and our officials did that in the past. All of us did those things in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. When we worshiped the Queen of Heaven, we had plenty of food. We were successful. Nothing bad happened to us.

18. परन्तु जब से हम ने स्वर्ग की रानी के लिये धूप जलाना और तपावन देना छोड़ दिया, तब से हम को सब वस्तुओं की घटी है; और हम तलवार और महंगी के द्वारा मिट चले हैं।

18. But then we stopped making sacrifices to the Queen of Heaven, and we stopped pouring out drink offerings to her. And we have had problems ever since we stopped worshiping her. Our people have been killed by swords and hunger.'

19. और स्त्रियों ने कहा, जब हम स्वर्ग की रानी के लिये धूप जलातीं और चन्द्राकार रोटियां बनाकर तपावन देती थीं, तब अपने अपने पति के बिन जाने ऐसा नहीं करती थीं।

19. Then the women spoke up and said to Jeremiah, 'Our husbands knew what we were doing. We had their permission to make sacrifices to the Queen of Heaven. We had their permission to pour out drink offerings to her. Our husbands also knew that we were making cakes that looked like her.'

20. तब यिर्मयाह ने, क्या स्त्री, क्या पुरूष, जितने लोगों ने यह उत्तर दिया, उन सब से कहा,

20. Then Jeremiah spoke to all the men and women who had just said those things.

21. तुम्हारे पुरखा और तुम जो अपने राजाओं और हाकिमों और लोगों समेत यहूदा देश के नगरों और यरूशलेम की सड़कों में धूप जलाते थे, क्या वह यहोवा के ध्यान में नहीं आया?

21. He said to them, 'The Lord remembered that you made sacrifices in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. You and your ancestors, your kings, your officials, and the people of the land did that. He remembered what you had done and thought about it.

22. क्या उस ने उसको स्मरण न किया? सो जब यहोवा तुम्हारे बुरे और सब घृणित कामों को और अधिक न सह सका, तब तुम्हारा देश उजड़कर निर्जन और सुनसान हो गया, यहां तक कि लोग उसकी उपमा देकर शाप दिया करते हैं, जैसे कि आज होता है।

22. The Lord hated the terrible things you did, and he could not be patient with you any longer. So he made your country an empty desert. No one lives there now. Other people say bad things about that country.

23. क्योंकि तुम धूप जलाकर यहोवा के विरूद्व पाप करते और उसकी नहीं सुनते थे, और उसकी व्यवस्था और विधियों और चितौनियों के अनुसार नहीं चले, इस कारण यह विपत्ति तुम पर आ पड़ी है, जैसे कि आज है।

23. The reason all those bad things happened to you is because you made sacrifices to other gods. You sinned against the Lord. You didn't obey him or follow his teachings or the laws he gave you. You didn't keep your part of the agreement. '

24. फिर यिर्मयाह ने उन सब लोगों से और उन सब स्त्रियों से कहा, हे सारे मिस्र देश में रहनेवाले यहूदियो, यहोवा का वचन सुनोे

24. Then Jeremiah spoke to all the men and women. He said, 'All you people of Judah who are now in Egypt, listen to the message from the Lord:

25. इस्राएल का परमेश्वर, सेनाओं का यहोवा, यों कहता है, कि तुम ने और तुम्हारी स्त्रियों ने मन्नतें मानी और यह कहकर उन्हें पूरी करते हो कि हम ने स्वर्ग की रानी के लिये धूप जलाने और तपावन देने की जो जो मन्नतें मानी हैं उन्हें हम अवश्य ही पूरी करेंगे; और तुम ने अपने हाथों से ऐसा ही किया। सो अब तुुम अपनी अपनी मन्नतों को मानकर पूरी करो !

25. This is what the Lord All- Powerful, the God of the people of Israel, says: You women did what you said you would do. You said, 'We will keep the promises we made. We promised to make sacrifices and pour out drink offerings to the Queen of Heaven.' So go ahead. Do what you promised you would do. Keep your promises.

26. परन्तु हे मिस्र देश में रहनेवाले सारे यहूदियो यहोवा का वचन सुनोे सुनो, मैं ने अपने बड़े नाम की शपथ खाई है कि अब पूरे मिस्र देश में कोई यहूदी मनुष्य मेरा नाम लेकर फिर कभी यह न कहने पाएगा कि 'प्रभु यहोवा के जीवन की सौगन्ध'।

26. But, listen to the message from the Lord, all you people of Judah who are living in Egypt: 'I use my great name and make this promise: I promise that none of the people of Judah who are now living in Egypt will ever again use my name to make promises. They will never again say, 'As surely as the Lord lives,

27. सुनो, अब मैं उनकी भलाई नहीं, हानि ही की चिन्ता करूंगा; सो मिस्र देश में रहनेवाले सब यहूदी, तलवार और महंगी के द्वारा मिटकर नाश हो जाएंगे जब तक कि उनका सर्वनाश न हो जाए।

27. 'I am watching over the people of Judah, but I am not watching over them to take care of them. I am watching over them to hurt them. The people of Judah who live in Egypt will die from hunger and be killed by swords. They will continue to die until they are finished.

28. और जो तलवार से बचकर और मिस्र देश से लौटकर यहूदा देश में पहुंचेंगे, वे थोड़े ही होंगे; और मिस्र देश में रहने के लिये आए हुए सब यहूदियों में से जो बच पाएंगे, वे जान लेंगे कि किसका वचन पूरा हुआ, मेरा वा उनका।

28. Some people of Judah will escape being killed by the sword. They will come back to Judah from Egypt. But only a few people of Judah will escape. Then the survivors of Judah who came to live in Egypt will know whose word will come true. They will know whether my word or their word came true.

29. इस बात का मैं यह चिन्ह देता हूं, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि मैं तुम्हें इसी स्थान में दण्ड दूंगा, जिस से तुम जान लोगे कि तुम्हारी हानि करने में मेरे वचन निश्चय पूरे होंगे।

29. I will give you people proof,' says the Lord, 'that I will punish you here in Egypt. Then you will know for sure that my promises to hurt you will really happen.

30. यहोवा यों कहता हे, देखो, जैसा मैं ने यहूदा के राजा सिदकिरयाह को उसके शत्रु अर्थात् उसके प्राण के खोजी बाबुल के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर के हाथ में कर दिया, वैसे ही मैं मिस्र के राजा फिरौन होप्रा को भी उसके शत्रुओं के, अर्थात् उसके प्राण के खोजियों के हाथ में कर दूंगा।

30. 'This will be your proof that I will do what I say.' This is what the Lord says: 'Pharaoh Hophra is the king of Egypt. His enemies want to kill him. I will give Pharaoh Hophra to his enemies. Zedekiah was the king of Judah. Nebuchadnezzar was Zedekiah's enemy, and I gave Zedekiah to his enemy. In the same way I will give Pharaoh Hophra to his enemy.''
