1. वे कहते हैं, यदि कोई अपनी पत्नी को त्याग दे, और वह उसके पास से जाकर दूसरे पुरूष की हो जाए, तो वह पहिला क्या उसके पास फिर जाएगा? क्या वह देश अति अशुठ्ठ न हो जाएगा? यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि तू ने बहुत से प्रेमियों के साथ व्यभिचार किया है, क्या तू अब मेरी ओर फिरेगी?

1. GOD's Message came to me as follows: 'If a man's wife walks out on him And marries another man, can he take her back as if nothing had happened? Wouldn't that raise a huge stink in the land? And isn't that what you've done-- 'whored' your way with god after god? And now you want to come back as if nothing had happened.' GOD's Decree.

2. मुण्डे टीलों की ओर आंखें उठाकर देख ! ऐसा कौन सा स्थान है जहां तू ने कुकर्म न किया हो? माग में तू ऐसी बैठी जैसे एक अरबी जंगल में। तू ने देश को अपने व्यभिचार से अशुठ्ठ कर दिया है।

2. 'Look around at the hills. Where have you not had sex? You've camped out like hunters stalking deer. You've solicited many lover-gods, Like a streetwalking whore chasing after other gods.

3. इसी कारण झड़ियां और बरसात की पिछली वर्षा नहीं होती; तौभी तेरा माथा वेश्या का सा है, तू लज्जित होना ही नहीं जानती।

3. And so the rain has stopped. No more rain from the skies! But it doesn't even faze you. Brazen as whores, you carry on as if you've done nothing wrong.

4. क्या तू अब मुझे पुकारकर कहेगी, हे मेरे पिता, तू ही मेरी जवानी का साथी है?

4. Then you have the nerve to call out, 'My father! You took care of me when I was a child. Why not now?

5. क्या वह मन में सदा क्रोध रखे रहेगा? क्या वह उसको सदा बनाए रहेगा? तू ने ऐसा कहा तो है, परन्तु तू ने बुरे काम प्रबलता के साथ किए हैं।

5. Are you going to keep up your anger nonstop?' That's your line. Meanwhile you keep sinning nonstop.'

6. फिर योशिरयाह राजा के दिनों में यहोवा ने मुझ से यह भी कहा, क्या तू ने देखा कि भटकनेवाली इस्राएल ने क्या किया है? उस ने सब ऊंचे पहाड़ों पर और सब हरे पेड़ों के तले जा जाकर व्यभिचार किया है।

6. GOD spoke to me during the reign of King Josiah: 'You have noticed, haven't you, how fickle Israel has visited every hill and grove of trees as a whore at large?

7. तब मैं ने सोवा, जब ये सब काम वह कर चुके तब मेरी ओर फिरेगी; परन्तु वह न फिरी, और उसकी विश्वासघाती बहिन यहूदा ने यह देखा।

7. I assumed that after she had gotten it out of her system, she'd come back, but she didn't. Her flighty sister, Judah, saw what she did.

8. फिर मैं ने देखा, जब मैं ने भटकनेवाली इस्राएल को उसके व्यभिचार करने के कारण त्यागकर उसे त्यागपत्रा दे दिया; तौभी उसकी विश्वासघाती बहिन यहूदा न डरी, वरन जाकर वह भी व्यभिचारिणी बन गई।

8. She also saw that because of fickle Israel's loose morals I threw her out, gave her her walking papers. But that didn't faze flighty sister Judah. She went out, big as you please, and took up a whore's life also.

9. उसके निर्लज्ज- व्यभिचारिणी होने के कारण देश भी अशुठ्ठ हो गया, उस ने पत्थर और काठ के साथ भी व्यभिचार किया।

9. She took up cheap sex-and-religion as a sideline diversion, an indulgent recreation, and used anything and anyone, flouting sanity and sanctity alike, stinking up the country.

10. इतने पर भी उसकी विश्वासघाती बहिन यहूदा पूर्ण मन से मेरी ओर नहीं फिरी, परन्तु कपट से, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

10. And not once in all this did flighty sister Judah even give me a nod, although she made a show of it from time to time.' GOD's Decree.

11. और यहोवा ने मुझ से कहा, भटकनेवाली इस्राएल, विश्वासघातिन यहूदा से कम दोषी निकली है।

11. Then GOD told me, 'Fickle Israel was a good sight better than flighty Judah.

12. तू जाकर उत्तर दिशा में ये बातें प्रचार कर, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, हे भटकनेवाली इस्राएल लौट आ, मैं तुझ पर क्रोध की दृष्टि न करूंगा; क्योंकि यहोवा की यह वाणी है, मैं करूणामय हूँ; मैं सर्वदा क्रोध न रखे रहूंगा।

12. Go and preach this message. Face north toward Israel and say: ''Turn back, fickle Israel. I'm not just hanging back to punish you. I'm committed in love to you. My anger doesn't seethe nonstop.

13. केवल अपना यह अधर्म मान ले कि तू अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से फिर गई और सब हरे पेड़ों के तले इधर उधर दूसरों के पास गई, और मेरी बातों को नहीं माना, यहोवा की यह वाणी है।

13. Just admit your guilt. Admit your God-defiance. Admit to your promiscuous life with casual partners, pulling strangers into the sex-and-religion groves While turning a deaf ear to me.'' GOD's Decree.

14. हे भटकनेवाले लड़को लौट आओ, क्योंकि मैं तुम्हरा स्वामी हूँ; यहोवा की यह वाणी है। तुम्हारे प्रत्येक नगर पीछे एक, और प्रत्येक कुल पीछे दो को लेकर मैं सिरयोन में पहुंचा दूंगा।

14. 'Come back, wandering children!' GOD's Decree. 'I, yes I, am your true husband. I'll pick you out one by one-- This one from the city, these two from the country-- and bring you to Zion.

15. और मैं तुम्हें अपने मन के अनुकूल चरवाहे दूंगा, जो ज्ञान और बुध्दि से तुम्हें चराएंगे।

15. I'll give you good shepherd-rulers who rule my way, who rule you with intelligence and wisdom.

16. उन दिनों में जब तुम इस देश में बढ़ो, और फूलो- फलोे, तब लोग फिर ऐसा न कहेंगे, 'यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक'; यहोवा की यह भी वाणी हे। उसका विचार भी उनके मन में न आएगा, न लोग उसके न रहने से चिन्ता करेंगे; और न उसकी मरम्मत होगी।

16. 'And this is what will happen: You will increase and prosper in the land. The time will come'--GOD's Decree!--'when no one will say any longer, 'Oh, for the good old days! Remember the Ark of the Covenant?' It won't even occur to anyone to say it--'the good old days.' The so-called good old days of the Ark are gone for good.

17. उस समय सरूशलेम यहोवा का सिंहासन कहलाएगा, और सब जातियां उसी यरूशलेम में मेरे नाम के निमित्त इकट्ठी हुआ करेंगी, और, वे फिर अपने बुरे मन के हठ पर न चलेंगी।

17. 'Jerusalem will be the new Ark--'GOD's Throne.' All the godless nations, no longer stuck in the ruts of their evil ways, will gather there to honor GOD.

18. उन दिनों में यहूदा का घराना इस्राएल के घराने के साथ चलेगा और वे दोनों मिलकर उत्तर के देश से इस देश में आएंगे जिसे मैं ने उनके पूर्वजों को निज भाग करके दिया था।

18. 'At that time, the House of Judah will join up with the House of Israel. Holding hands, they'll leave the north country and come to the land I willed to your ancestors.

19. मैं ने सोचा था, मैं कैसे तुझे लड़कों में गिनकर वह मनभावना देश दूं जो सब जातियों के देशों का शिरोमणि है। और मैं ने सोचा कि तू मुझे पिता कहेगी, और मुझ से फिर न भटकेगी।

19. 'I planned what I'd say if you returned to me: 'Good! I'll bring you back into the family. I'll give you choice land, land that the godless nations would die for.' And I imagined that you would say, 'Dear father!' and would never again go off and leave me.

20. इस में तो सन्देह नहीं कि जैसे विश्वासघाती स्त्री अपने प्रिय से मन फेर लेती है, वैसे ही हे इस्राएल के घराने, तू मुझ से फिर गया है, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

20. But no luck. Like a false-hearted woman walking out on her husband, you, the whole family of Israel, have proven false to me.' GOD's Decree.

21. मुण्डे टीलों पर से इस्राएलियों के रोने और गिड़गिड़ाने का शब्द सुनाई दे रहा है, क्योंकि वे टेढ़ी चाल चलते रहे हैं और अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को भूल गए हैं।

21. The sound of voices comes drifting out of the hills, the unhappy sound of Israel's crying, Israel lamenting the wasted years, never once giving her God a thought.

22. हे भटकनेवाले लड़को, लौट आओ, मैं तुम्हारा भटकना सुधार दूंगा। देख, हम तेरे पास आए हैं; क्योंकि तू ही हमारा परमेश्वर यहोवा है।

22. 'Come back, wandering children! I can heal your wanderlust!' 'We're here! We've come back to you. You're our own true GOD!

23. निश्ख्य पहाड़ों और पहाड़ियों पर का कोलाहल व्यर्थ ही है। इस्राएल का उठ्ठार निश्चय हमारे परमेश्वर यहोवा ही के द्वारा है।

23. All that popular religion was a cheap lie, duped crowds buying up the latest in gods. We're back! Back to our true GOD, the salvation of Israel.

24. परन्तु हमारी जवानी ही से उस बदनामी की वस्तु ने हमारे पुरखाओं की कमाई अर्थात् उनकी भेड़- बकरी और गाय- बैल और उनके बेटे- बेटियों को निगल लिया है।

24. The Fraud picked us clean, swindled us of what our ancestors bequeathed us, Gypped us out of our inheritance-- God-blessed flocks and God-given children.

25. हम लज्जित होकर लेट जाएं, और हमारा संकोच हमारी ओढ़नी बन जाए; क्योंकि हमारे पुरखा और हम भी युवा अवस्था से लेकर आज के दिन तक अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के विरूद्ध पाप करते आए हैं; और हम ने अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की बातों को नहीं माना है।

25. We made our bed and now lie in it, all tangled up in the dirty sheets of dishonor. All because we sinned against our GOD, we and our fathers and mothers. From the time we took our first steps, said our first words, we've been rebels, disobeying the voice of our GOD.'
