1. तब एलीशा भविष्यद्वक्ता ने भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के चेलों में से एक को बुलाकर उस से कहा, कमर बान्ध, और हाथ में तेल की यह कुप्पी लेकर गिलाद के रामोत को जा।

1. Meanwhile, Elisha the prophet had summoned a member of the group of prophets. 'Get ready to travel,' he told him, 'and take this flask of olive oil with you. Go to Ramoth-gilead,

2. और वहां पहूंचकर येहू को जो यहोशापात का पुत्रा और निमशी का पोता है, ढूंढ़ लेना; तब भीतर जा, उसकी खड़ा कराकर उसके भइयों से अलग एक भीतरी कोठरी में ले जाना।

2. and find Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. Call him into a private room away from his friends,

3. तब तेल की यह कुप्पी लेकर तेल को उसके सिर पर यह कह कर डालना, यहोवा यों कहता है, कि मैं इस्राएल का राजा होने के लिये तेरा अभिषेक कर देता हूँ। तब द्वार खोलकर भागना, विलम्ह न करना।

3. and pour the oil over his head. Say to him, 'This is what the LORD says: I anoint you to be the king over Israel.' Then open the door and run for your life!'

4. तब वह जवान भविष्यद्वक्ता गिलाद के रामोत को गया।

4. So the young prophet did as he was told and went to Ramoth-gilead.

5. वहां पहुंचकर उस ने क्या देखा, कि सेनापति बैठे हए हैं; तब उस ने कहा, हे सेनापति, मुझे तुझ से कुछ कहना है। येहू ने पूछा, हम सभों में किस से ? उस ने कहा हे सेनापति, तुझी से !

5. When he arrived there, he found Jehu sitting around with the other army officers. 'I have a message for you, Commander,' he said.'For which one of us?' Jehu asked.'For you, Commander,' he replied.

6. तब वह उठकर घर में गया; और उस ने यह कहकर उसके सिर पर तेल डाला कि इस्राएल का परमेश्वर यहोवा यों कहता है, मैं अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल पर राजा होने के लिये तेरा अभिषेक कर देता हूँ।

6. So Jehu left the others and went into the house. Then the young prophet poured the oil over Jehu's head and said, 'This is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: I anoint you king over the LORD's people, Israel.

7. तो तू अपने स्वामी अहाब के घराने को मार डालना, जिस से मुझे अपने दास भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के वरन अपने सब दासों के खून का जो ईज़ेबेल ने बहाया, पलटा मिले।

7. You are to destroy the family of Ahab, your master. In this way, I will avenge the murder of my prophets and all the LORD's servants who were killed by Jezebel.

8. क्योंकि अहाब का समस्त घराना नाश हो जाएगा, और मैं अहाब के वंश के हर बक लड़के को और इस्राएल में के क्या बन्धुए, क्या स्वाधीन, हर एक को नाश कर डालूंगा।

8. The entire family of Ahab must be wiped out. I will destroy every one of his male descendants, slave and free alike, anywhere in Israel.

9. और मैं अहाब का घराना नबात के पुत्रा यारोबाम का सा, और अहिरयाह के पुत्रा बाशा का सा कर दूंगा।

9. I will destroy the family of Ahab as I destroyed the families of Jeroboam son of Nebat and of Baasha son of Ahijah.

10. और ईज़ेबेल को यिज्रैल की भ्ूिम में कुत्ते खाएंगे, और उसको मिट्टी देनेवाला कोई न होगा। तब वह द्वार खोलकर भाग गया।

10. Dogs will eat Ahab's wife Jezebel at the plot of land in Jezreel, and no one will bury her.' Then the young prophet opened the door and ran.

11. तब येहू अपने स्वामी के कर्मचारियों के पास निकल आया, और एक ने उस से पूछा, क्या कुशल है, वह बावला क्यों तेरे पास आया था? उस ने उन से कहा, तुम को मालूम होगा कि वह कौन है और उस से क्या बातचीत हुई।

11. Jehu went back to his fellow officers, and one of them asked him, 'What did that madman want? Is everything all right?' 'You know how a man like that babbles on,' Jehu replied.

12. उन्हों ने कहा झूठ है, हमें बता दे। उस ने कहा, उस ने मुझ से कहा तो बहुत, परन्तु मतलब यह है कि यहोवा यों कहता है कि मैं इस्राएल का राजा होने के लिये तेरा अभिषेक कर देता हूँ।

12. 'You're hiding something,' they said. 'Tell us.' So Jehu told them, 'He said to me, 'This is what the LORD says: I have anointed you to be king over Israel.''

13. तब उन्हों ने झट अपना अपना वस्त्रा उतार कर उसके तीचे सीढ़ी ही पर बिछाया, और नरसिंगे फूंककर कहने लगे, येहू राजा है।

13. Then they quickly spread out their cloaks on the bare steps and blew the ram's horn, shouting, 'Jehu is king!'

14. यों येहू जो निमशी का पोता और यहोशापात का पुत्रा था, उस ने योराम से राजद्रोह की गोष्ठी की। ( योराम तो सब इस्राएल समेत अराम के राजा हजाएल के कराण गिलाद के रामोत की रक्षा कर रहा था;

14. So Jehu son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi, led a conspiracy against King Joram. (Now Joram had been with the army at Ramoth-gilead, defending Israel against the forces of King Hazael of Aram.

15. परन्तु राजा योराम आप अपने घाव का जो अराम के राजा हजाएल से युठ्ठ करने के समय उसको अरामियों से लगे थे, उनका इलाज कराने के लिये यिज्रैल को लौठ गया था। ) तब येहू ने कहा, यदि तुम्हारा ऐसा मन हो, तो इस नगर में से कोई निकल कर यिज्रैल में सुनाने को न जाने पाए।

15. But King Joram was wounded in the fighting and returned to Jezreel to recover from his wounds.) So Jehu told the men with him, 'If you want me to be king, don't let anyone leave town and go to Jezreel to report what we have done.'

16. तब येहू रथ पर चढ़कर, यिज्रैल को चला जहां योराम पड़ा हुआ था; और यहूदा का राजा अहज्याह योराम के देखने को वहां आया था।

16. Then Jehu got into a chariot and rode to Jezreel to find King Joram, who was lying there wounded. King Ahaziah of Judah was there, too, for he had gone to visit him.

17. यिज्रैल के गुम्मट पर, जो पहरूआ खड़ा था, उस ने येहू के संग आते हुए दल को देखकर कहा, मुझे एक दल दीखता है; योराम ने कहा, एक सवार को बुलाकर उन लोगों से मिलने को भेज और वह उन से पूछे, क्या कुशल है?

17. The watchman on the tower of Jezreel saw Jehu and his company approaching, so he shouted to Joram, 'I see a company of troops coming!' 'Send out a rider to ask if they are coming in peace,' King Joram ordered.

18. तब बक सवार उस से मिलने को गया, और उस से कहा, राजा पूछता है, क्या कुशल है? येहू ने कहा, कुशल से तेरा क्या काम? हटकर मेरे पीछे चल। तब पहरूए ने कहा, वह दूत उनके पास पहुंचा तो था, परन्तु लौटकर नहीं आया।

18. So a horseman went out to meet Jehu and said, 'The king wants to know if you are coming in peace.' Jehu replied, 'What do you know about peace? Fall in behind me!' The watchman called out to the king, 'The messenger has met them, but he's not returning.'

19. तब उसने दूसरा सवार भेजा, और उस ने उनके पास पहुंचकर कहा, राजा पूछता है, क्या कुशल है? येहू ने कहा, कुशल से तेरा क्या काम? हटकर मेरे पीछे चल।

19. So the king sent out a second horseman. He rode up to them and said, 'The king wants to know if you come in peace.' Again Jehu answered, 'What do you know about peace? Fall in behind me!'

20. तब पहरूए ने कहा, वह भी उनके पास पहुंचा तो था, परन्तु लौटकर नहीं आया। हांकना निमशी के पोते येहू का सा है; वह तो बौड़हे की नाई हांकता है।

20. The watchman exclaimed, 'The messenger has met them, but he isn't returning either! It must be Jehu son of Nimshi, for he's driving like a madman.'

21. योराम ने कहा, मेरा रथ जुतवा। जब उसका रथ जुत गया, तब इस्राएल का राजा योराम और यहूदा का राजा अहज्याह, दोनो अपने अपने रथ पर चढ़कर निकल गए, और येहू से मिलने को बाहर जाकर यिज्रैल नाबोत की भूमि में उस से भेंट की।

21. 'Quick! Get my chariot ready!' King Joram commanded.Then King Joram of Israel and King Ahaziah of Judah rode out in their chariots to meet Jehu. They met him at the plot of land that had belonged to Naboth of Jezreel.

22. येहू को देखते ही योराम ने पूछा, हे येहू क्या कुशल है, येहू ने उत्तर दिया, जब तक तेरी माता ईज़ेबेल छिनालपन और टोना करती रहे, तब तक कुशल कहां?

22. King Joram demanded, 'Do you come in peace, Jehu?' Jehu replied, 'How can there be peace as long as the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother, Jezebel, are all around us?'

23. तब याराम रास फेर के, और अहज्याह से यह कहकर कि हे अहज्याह विश्वासघात है, भाग चल।

23. Then King Joram turned the horses around and fled, shouting to King Ahaziah, 'Treason, Ahaziah!'

24. तब येहू ने धनुष को कान तक खींचकर योराम के पखौड़ों के बीच ऐसा तीर मारा, कि वह उसका हृदय फोड़कर निकल गया, और वह अपने रथ में झुककर गिर पड़ा।

24. But Jehu drew his bow and shot Joram between the shoulders. The arrow pierced his heart, and he sank down dead in his chariot.

25. तब येहू ने बिदकर नाम अपने एक सरदार से कहा, उसे उठाकर यिज्रैली नाबोत की भूमि में फेंक दे; स्मरण तो कर, कि जब मैं और तू, हम दोनो एक संग सवार होकर उसके पिता अहाब के पीछे पीछे चल रहे थे तब यहोवा ने उस से यह भरी वचन कहवाया था, कि यहोवा की यह वाणी है,

25. Jehu said to Bidkar, his officer, 'Throw him into the plot of land that belonged to Naboth of Jezreel. Do you remember when you and I were riding along behind his father, Ahab? The LORD pronounced this message against him:

26. कि नाबोत और उसके पुत्रों का जो खून हुआ, उसे मैं ने देखा है, और यहोवा की यह वाण्एी है, कि मैं उसी भूमि में तुझे बदला दूंगा। तो अब यहोवा के उस वचन के अनुसार इसे उठाकर उसी भूमि में फेंक दे।

26. 'I solemnly swear that I will repay him here on this plot of land, says the LORD, for the murder of Naboth and his sons that I saw yesterday.' So throw him out on Naboth's property, just as the LORD said.'

27. यह देखकर यहूदा का राजा अहज्याह बारी के भवन के मार्ग से भाग चला। और येहू ने उसका पीछा करके कहा, उसे भी रथ ही पर मारो; तो वह भी यिबलाम के पास की गूर की चढ़ाई पर मारा गया, और मगिद्दॊ तक भगकर मर गया।

27. When King Ahaziah of Judah saw what was happening, he fled along the road to Beth-haggan. Jehu rode after him, shouting, 'Shoot him, too!' So they shot Ahaziah in his chariot at the Ascent of Gur, near Ibleam. He was able to go on as far as Megiddo, but he died there.

28. तब उसके कर्मचारियों ने उसे रथ पर यरूशलेम को पहुंचाकर दाऊदपुर में उसके पुरखाओं के बीच मिट्टी दी।

28. His servants took him by chariot to Jerusalem, where they buried him with his ancestors in the City of David.

29. अहज्याह तो अहाब के पुत्रा योराम के ग्यारहवें वर्ष में यहूदा पर राज्य करने लगा था।

29. Ahaziah had become king over Judah in the eleventh year of the reign of Joram son of Ahab.

30. जब येहू यिज्रैल को आया, तब ईज़ेबेल यह सुन अपनी आंखों में सुर्मा लगा, अपना सिर संवारकर, खिड़की में से झांकने लगी।

30. When Jezebel, the queen mother, heard that Jehu had come to Jezreel, she painted her eyelids and fixed her hair and sat at a window.

31. जब येहू फाटक में होकर आ रहा था तब उस ने कहा, हे अपने स्वामी के घात करने वाले जिम्री, क्या कुशल है?

31. When Jehu entered the gate of the palace, she shouted at him, 'Have you come in peace, you murderer? You're just like Zimri, who murdered his master!'

32. तब उस ने खिड़की की ओर मुंह उठाकर पूछा, मेरी ओर कौन है? कौन? इस पर दो तीन खोजों ने उसकी ओर झांका।

32. Jehu looked up and saw her at the window and shouted, 'Who is on my side?' And two or three eunuchs looked out at him.

33. तब उस ने कहा, उसे नीचे गिरा दो। सो उन्हों ने उसको नीचे गिरा दिया, और उसके लोहू के कुछ छींटे भीत पर और कुछ घोड़ों पर पड़े, और उन्हों ने उसको पांव से लताड़ दिया।

33. 'Throw her down!' Jehu yelled. So they threw her out the window, and her blood spattered against the wall and on the horses. And Jehu trampled her body under his horses' hooves.

34. तब वह भीतर जाकर खाने पीने लगा; और कहा, जाओ उस स्रापित स्त्री को देख लो, और उसे मिट्टी दो; वह तो राजा की बेटी है।

34. Then Jehu went into the palace and ate and drank. Afterward he said, 'Someone go and bury this cursed woman, for she is the daughter of a king.'

35. जब वे उसे मिट्टी देने गए, तब उसकी खोपड़ी पांवों और हथेलियों को छोड़कर उसका और कुछ न पाया।

35. But when they went out to bury her, they found only her skull, her feet, and her hands.

36. सो उन्हों ने लौटकर उस से कह दिया; तब उस ने कहा, यह यहोवा का वह वचन है, जो उस ने अपने दास तिशबी एलिरयाह से कहलवाया था, कि ईज़ेबेल का मांस यिज्रैल की भूमि में कुत्तों से खाया जाएगा।

36. When they returned and told Jehu, he stated, 'This fulfills the message from the LORD, which he spoke through his servant Elijah from Tishbe: 'At the plot of land in Jezreel, dogs will eat Jezebel's body.

37. और ईज़ेबेल की लोथ यिज्रैल की भूमि पर खाद की नाई पड़ी रहेगी, यहां तक कि कोई न कहेगा, यह ईज़ेबेल है।

37. Her remains will be scattered like dung on the plot of land in Jezreel, so that no one will be able to recognize her.''
