1. अहाब के मरने के बाद मोआब इस्राएल के विरूद्ध हो गया।

1. Then Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab:

2. और अहज्याह एक झिलमिलीदार खिड़की में से, जो शोमरोन में उसकी अटारी में थी, गिर पड़ा, और बीमार हो गया। तब उस ने दूतों को यह कहकर भेजा, कि तुम जाकर एक्रोन के बालजबूब नाम देवता से यह पूछ आओ, कि क्या मैं इस बीमारी से बचूंगा कि नहीं?

2. And Ahaziah fell thorow the lattesse windowe in his vpper chamber which was in Samaria: so he was sicke: then he sent messengers, to whome he saide, Goe, and enquire of Baal-zebub the God of Ekron, if I shall recouer of this my disease.

3. तब यहोवा के दूत ने तिशबी एलिरयाह से कहा, उठकर शोमरोन के राजा के दूतों से मिलने को जा, और उन से कह, क्या इस्राएल में कोई परमेश्वर नहीं जो तुम एक्रोन के बालजबूब देवता से पूछने जाते हो?

3. Then the Angel of the Lord said to Eliiah the Tishbite, Arise, and goe vp to meete the messengers of the King of Samaria, and say vnto them, Is it not because there is no God in Israel, that ye goe to enquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron?

4. इसलिये अब यहोवा तुझ से यों कहता है, कि जिस पलंग पर तू पड़ा है, उस पर से कभी न उठेगा, परन्तु मर ही जाएगा। तब एलिरयाह चला गया।

4. Wherefore thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not come downe from the bed on which thou art gone vp, but shalt die the death. So Eliiah departed.

5. जब अहज्याह के दूत उसके पास लौट आए, तब उस ने उन से पूछा, तुम क्यों लौट आए हो?

5. And the messengers returned vnto him, to whome he said, Why are ye nowe returned?

6. उन्हों ने उस से कहा, कि एक मनुष्य हम से मिलने को आया, और कहा, कि जिस राजा ने तुम को भेजा उसके पास लौटकर कहो, यहोवा यों कहता है, कि क्या इस्राएल में कोई परमेश्वर नहीं जो तू एक्रोन के बालजबूब देवता से पूछने को भेजता है? इस कारण जिस पलंग पर तू पड़ा है, उस पर से कभी न उठेगा, परन्तु मर ही जाएगा।

6. And they answered him, There came a man and met vs, and saide vnto vs, Goe, and returne vnto the King which sent you, and say vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Is it not because there is no God in Israel, that thou sendest to enquire of Baal-zebub the God of Ekron? Therefore thou shalt not come downe from the bed, on which thou art gone vp, but shalt die ye death.

7. उस ने उन से पूछा, जो मनुष्य तुम से मिलने को आया, और तुम से ये बातें कहीं, उसका कैसा रंग- रूप था?

7. And he saide vnto them, What maner of man was he which came and met you, and tolde you these wordes?

8. उन्हों ने उसको उत्तर दिया, वह तो रोंआर मनुष्य था और अपनी कमर में चमड़े का फेंटा बान्धे हुए था। उस ने कहा, वह तिशबी एलिरयाह होगा।

8. And they said vnto him, He was an hearie man, and girded with a girdle of lether about his loynes. Then sayde he, It is Eliiah the Tishbite.

9. तब उस ने उसके पास पचास सिपाहियों के एक प्रधान को उसके पचासों सिपाहियों समेत भेजा। प्रधान ने उसके पास जाकर क्या देखा कि वह पहाड़ की चोटी पर बैठा है। और उस ने उस से कहा, हे परमेश्वर के भक्त राजा ने कहा है, कि तू उतर आ।

9. Therefore the King sent vnto him a captaine ouer fiftie with his fiftie men, who went vp vnto him: for beholde, he sate on the toppe of a mountaine, and he saide vnto him, O man of God, the King hath commanded that thou come downe.

10. एलिरयाह ने उस पचास सिपाहियों के प्रधान से कहा, यदि मैं परमेश्वर का भक्त हूँ तो आकाश से आग गिरकर तुझे तेरे पचासों समेत भस्म कर डाले। तब आकाश से आग उतरी और उसे उसके पचासों समेत भस्म कर दिया।

10. But Eliiah answered, and saide to the captaine ouer the fiftie, If that I be a man of God, let fire come downe from the heauen, and deuoure thee and thy fiftie. So fire came downe from the heauen and deuoured him and his fiftie.

11. फिर राजा ने उसके पास पचास सिपाहियों के एक और प्रधान को, पचासों सिपाहियों समेत भेज दिया। प्रधान ने उस से कहा हे परमेश्वर के भक्त राजा ने कहा है, कि फुत से तू उतर आ।

11. Againe also he sent vnto him another captaine ouer fiftie, with his fiftie. Who spake, and saide vnto him, O man of God, thus the King commandeth, Come downe quickely.

12. एलिरयाह ने उत्तर देकर उन से कहा, यदि मैं परमेश्वर का भक्त हूँ तो आकाश से आग गिरकर तुझे, तेरे पचासों समेत भस्म कर डाले; तब आकाश से परमेश्वर की आग उतरी और उसे उसके पचासों समेत भस्म कर दिया।

12. But Eliiah answered, and saide vnto them, If I be a man of God, let fire come downe from the heauen, and deuoure thee and thy fiftie. So fire came downe from the heauen, and deuoured him and his fiftie.

13. फिर राजा ने तीसरी बार पचास सिपाहियों के एक और प्रधान को, पचासों सिपाहियों समेत भेज दिया, और पचास का वह तीसरा प्रधान चढ़कर, एलिरयाह के साम्हने घुटनों के बल गिरा, और गिड़गिड़ा कर उस से कहने लगा, हे परमेश्वर के भक्त मेरा प्राण और तेरे इन पचास दासों के प्राण तेरी दृष्टि में अनमोल ठहरें।

13. Yet againe he sent the third captaine ouer fiftie with his fiftie. And the thirde captaine ouer fiftie went vp, and came, and fell on his knees before Eliiah, and besought him, and saide vnto him, O man of God, I pray thee, let my life and the life of these thy fiftie seruants be precious in thy sight.

14. पचास पचास सिपाहियों के जो दो प्रधान अपने अपने पचासों समेत पहिले आए थे, उनको तो आग ने आकाश से गिरकर भस्म कर डाला, परन्तु अब मेरा प्राण तेरी दृष्टि में अनमोल ठहरे।

14. Beholde, there came fire downe from the heauen and deuoured the two former captaines ouer fiftie with their fifties: therefore let my life nowe be precious in thy sight.

15. तब यहोवा के दूत ने उलिरयाह से कहा, उसके संग नीचे जा, उस से पत डर। तब एलिरयाह उठकर उसके संग राजा के पास नीचे गया।

15. And the Angel of the Lord said vnto Eliiah, Goe downe with him, be not afraide of his presence. So he arose, and went downe with him vnto the King.

16. और उस से कहा, यहोवा यों कहता है, कि तू ने तो एक्रोन के बालजबूब देवता से पूछने को दूत भेजे थे तो क्या इस्राएल में कोई परमेश्वर नहीं कि जिस से तू पूछ सके? इस कारण तू जिस पलंग पर पड़ा है, उस पर से कभी न उठेगा, परन्तु मर ही जाएगा।

16. And he saide vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Because thou hast sent messengers to enquire of Baal-zebub the god of Ekron, (was it not because there was no God in Israel to inquire of his worde?) therefore thou shalt not come downe off the bed, on which thou art gone vp, but shalt die the death.

17. यहोवा के इस वचन के अनुसार जो एलिरयाह ने कहा था, वह मर गया। और उसके सन्तान न होने के कारण यहोराम उसके स्थान पर यहूदा के राजा यहोशापात के पुत्रा यहोराम के दूसरे वर्ष में राज्य करने लगा।

17. So he dyed according to the worde of the Lord which Eliiah had spoken. And Iehoram began to reigne in his steade, in the seconde yeere of Iehoram the sonne of Iehoshaphat King of Iudah, because he had no sonne.

18. अहज्याह के और काम जो उस ने किए वह क्या इस्राएल के राजाओं के इतिहास की पुस्तक में नहीं लिखे हैं?

18. Concerning the rest of the actes of Ahaziah, that he did, are they not written in the booke of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
