1. बिहान को यहोशू सबेरे उठा, और सब इस्राएलियों को साथ ले शित्तीम से कूच कर यरदन के किनारे आया; और वे पार उतरने से पहिले वहीं टिक गए।

1. Therfor Josue roos bi nyyt, and mouede tentis; and thei yeden out of Sechym, and camen to Jordan, he and alle the sones of Israel, and dwelliden there thre daies.

2. और तीन दिन के बाद सरदारों ने छावनी के बीच जाकर

2. And whanne tho daies weren passid, crieris yeden thorouy the myddis of tentis,

3. प्रजा के लोगों को यह आज्ञा दी, कि जब तुम को अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक और उसे उठाए हुए लेवीय याजक भी देख पड़ें, तब अपने स्थान से कूच करके उसके पीछे पीछे चलना,

3. and bigunnen to crie, Whanne ye seen the arke of boond of pees of youre Lord God, and the preestis of the generacioun of Leuy berynge it, also rise ye, and sue the biforgoeris;

4. परन्तु उसके और तुम्हारे बीच में दो हजार हाथ के अटकल अन्तर रहे; तुम सन्दूक के निकट न जाना। ताकि तुम देख सको, कि किस मार्ग से तुम को चलना है, क्योंकि अब तक तुम इस मार्ग पर होकर नहीं चले।

4. and a space of twey thousynde cubitis be bitwixe you and the arke, that ye moun se fer, and knowe bi what weie ye schulen entre, for ye `yeden not bifore bi it; and be ye war, that ye neiye not to the arke.

5. फिर यहोशू ने प्रजा के लोगों से कहा, तुम अपने आप को पवित्रा करो; क्योंकि कल के दिन यहोवा तुम्हारे मध्य में आश्चर्यकर्म करेगा।

5. And Josue seide to the puple, Be ye halewid, for to morew the Lord schal make merueilis among you.

6. तब यहोशू ने याजकों से कहा, वाचा का सन्दूक उठाकर प्रजा के आगे आगे चलो। तब वे वाचा का सन्दूक उठाकर आगे आगे चले।

6. And Josue seide to the preestis, Take ye the arke of the boond of pees `of the Lord, and go ye bifor the puple. Whiche filliden the heestis, and tooken the arke, and yeden bifor hem.

7. तब यहोवा ने यहोशू से कहा, आज के दिन से मैं सब इस्राएलियों के सम्मुख तेरी प्रशंसा करना आरम्भ करूंगा, जिस से वे जान लें कि जैसे मैं मूसा के संग रहता था वैसे ही मैं तेरे संग भी हूं।

7. And the Lord seide to Josue, To dai Y schal bigynne to enhaunse thee bifor al Israel, that thei wite, that as Y was with Moises, so Y am also with thee.

8. और तू वाचा के सन्दूक के उठानेवाले याजकों को यह आज्ञा दे, कि जब तुम यरदन के जल के किनारे पहुंचो, तब यरदन में खड़े रहना।।

8. Forsothe comaunde thou to preestis, that beren the arke of bond of pees, and seie thou to hem, Whanne ye han entrid in to a part of the watir of Jordan, stonde ye therynne.

9. तब यहोशू ने इस्राएलियों से कहा, कि पास आकर अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के वचन सुनो।

9. And Josue seide to the sones of Israel, Neiye ye hidur, and here ye the word of youre Lord God.

10. और यहोशू कहने लगा, कि इस से तुम जान लोगे कि जीवित ईश्वर तुम्हारे मध्य में है, और वह तुम्हारे सामहने से नि:सन्देह कनानियों, हित्तियों, हिव्वियों, परिज्जियों, गिर्गाशियों, एमोरियों, और यबूसियों को उनके देश में से निकाल देगा।

10. And eft he seide, In this ye schulen wite that the Lord God lyuynge is in the myddis of you; and he schal distrye in youre siyt Cananey, Ethei, Euey, and Feresei, and Gergesei, and Jebusei, and Amorrei.

11. सुनो, पृथ्वी भर के प्रभु की वाचा का सन्दूक तुम्हारे आगे आगे यरदन में जाने पर है।

11. Lo! the arke of boond of pees of the Lord of al erthe schal go bifor you thorouy Jordan.

12. इसलिये अब इस्राएल के गात्रों में से बारह पुरूषों को चुन लो, वे एक एक गोत्रा में से एक पुरूष हो।

12. Make ye redi twelue men of the twelue lynagis of Israel, bi ech lynage o man.

13. और जिस समय पृथ्वी भर के प्रभु यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक उठानेवाले याजकों के पांव यरदन के जल में पड़ेंगे, उस समय यरदन का ऊपर से बहता हुआ जल थम जाएगा, और ढेर होकर ठहरा रहेगा।

13. And whanne the preestis, that beren the arke of boond of pees of the Lord God of al erthe, han set the steppis of her feet in the watris of Jordan, the watris that ben lowere schulen renne doun, and schulen faile; forsothe the watris that comen fro aboue schulen stonde togidere in o gobet.

14. सो जब प्रजा के लोगों ने अपने डेरों से यरदन पार जाने को कूच किया, और याजक वाचा का सन्दूक उठाए हुए प्रजा के आगे आगे चले,

14. Therfor the puple yede out of her tabernaclis to passe Jordan; and the preestis that baren the arke of boond of pees yeden bifor the puple.

15. और सन्दूक के उठानेवाले यरदन पर पहुंचे, और सन्दूक के उठानेवाले याजकों के पांव यरदन के तीर के जल में डूब गए (यरदन का जल तो कटनी के समय के सब दिन कड़ारों के ऊपर ऊपर बहा करता है),

15. And whanne the preestis entriden in to Jordan, and her feet weren dippid in the part of watir; forsothe Jordan `hadde fillid the brynkis of his trow in the tyme of `ripe corn;

16. तब जो जल ऊपर की ओर से बहा आता था वह बहुत दूर, अर्थात् आदाम नगर के पास जो सारतान के निकट है रूककर एक ढेर हो गया, और दीवार सा उठा रहा, और जो जल अराबा का ताल, जो खारा ताल भी कहलाता है, उसकी ओर बहा जाता था, वह पूरी रीति से सूख गया; और प्रजा के लाग यरीहो के साम्हने पार उतर गए।

16. the watris yeden doun, and stoden in o place, and wexiden grete at the licnesse of an hil, and apperiden fer fro the citee that was clepid Edom, `til to the place of Sarthan; sotheli the watris that weren lowere yeden doun in to the see of wildirnesse, which is now clepid the deed see, `til the watris failiden outirli.

17. और याजक यहोवा की वाचा का सन्दूक उठाए हुए यरदन के बीचों बीच पहुंचकर स्थल पर स्थिर खड़े रहे, और सब इस्राएली स्थल ही स्थल पार उतरते रहे, निदान उस सारी जाति के लोग यरदन पार हो गए।।

17. Forsothe the puple yede thorouy Jordan; and the preestis, that baren the arke of the boond of pees of the Lord, stoden gird on the drie erthe in the myddis of Jordan, and al the puple passide thorouy the drie trow.
