1. मैं वही पौलुस जो तुम्हारे साम्हने दीन हूं, परन्तु पीठ पीछे तुम्हारी ओर साहस करता हूं; तुम को मसीह की नम्रता, और कोमलता के कारण समझाता हूं।

1. Nowe I Paul my selfe beseech you by the meekenes, and gentlenes of Christ, which when I am present among you am base, but am bolde toward you being absent:

2. मैं यह बिनती करता हूं, कि तुम्हारे साम्हने मुझे निर्भय होकर साहस करना न पड़े; जैसा मैं कितनों पर जो हम को शरीर के अनुसार चलनेवाले समझते हैं, वीरता दिखाने का विचार करता हूं।

2. And this I require you, that I neede not to be bolde when I am present, with that same confidence, wherewith I thinke to bee bolde against some, which esteeme vs as though wee walked according to the flesh.

3. क्योंकि यद्यपि हम शरीर में चलते फिरते हैं, तौभी शरीर के अनुसार नहीं लड़ते।

3. Neuerthelesse, though wee walke in the flesh, yet we doe not warre after the flesh.

4. क्योंकि हमारी लड़ाई के हथियार शारीरिक नहीं, पर गढ़ों को ढा देने के लिये परमेश्वर के द्वारा सामर्थी हैं।

4. (For the weapons of our warrefare are not carnall, but mightie through God, to cast downe holdes)

5. सो हम कल्पनाओं को, और हर एक ऊंची बात को, जो परमेश्वर की पहिचान के विरोध में उठती है, खण्डन करते हैं; और हर एक भावना को कैद करके मसीह का आज्ञाकारी बना देते हैं।

5. Casting downe the imaginations, and euery high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captiuitie euery thought to the obedience of Christ,

6. और तैयार रहते हैं कि जब तुम्हारा आज्ञा मानना पूरा हो जाए, तो हर एक प्रकार के आज्ञा न मानने का पलटा लें।

6. And hauing ready the vengeance against all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled.

7. तुम इन्हीं बातों को दखते हो, जो आंखों के साम्हने हैं, यदि किसी का अपने पर यह भरोसा हो, कि मैं मसीह का हूं, तो वह यह भी जान ले, कि जैसा वह मसीह का है, वैसे ही हम भी हैं।

7. Looke yee on things after the appearance? If any man trust in himselfe that hee is Christes, let him consider this againe of himself, that as he is Christes, euen so are we Christes.

8. क्योंकि यदि मैं उस अधिकार के विषय में और भी घमण्ड दिखाऊं, जो प्रभु ने तुम्हारे बिगाड़ने के लिये नहीं पर बनाने के लिये हमें दिया है, तो लज्जित न हूंगा।

8. For though I shoulde boast somewhat more of our authoritie, which the Lord hath giuen vs for edification, and not for your destruction, I should haue no shame.

9. यह मैं इसलिये कहता हूं, कि पत्रियों के द्वारा तुम्हें डरानेवाला न ठहरूं।

9. This I say, that I may not seeme as it were to feare you with letters.

10. क्योंकि कहते हें, कि उस की पत्रियां तो गम्भीर और प्रभावशाली हैं; परन्तु जब देखते हैं, तो वह देह का निर्बल और वक्तव्य में हल्का जान पड़ता है।

10. For the letters, sayeth hee, are sore and strong, but his bodily presence is weake, and his speache is of no value.

11. सो जो ऐसा कहता है, कि समझ रखे, कि जैसे पीठ पीछे पत्रियों में हमारे वचन हैं, वैसे ही तुम्हारे साम्हने हमारे काम भी होंगे।

11. Let such one thinke this, that such as wee are in woorde by letters, when we are absent, such wil we be also in deede, when we are present.

12. क्योंकि हमें यह हियाव नहीं कि हम अपने आप को उन में से ऐसे कितनों के साथ गिनें, या उन से अपने को मिलाएं, जो अपनी प्रशंसा करते हैं, और अपने आप को आपस में नाप तौलकर एक दूसरे से मिलान करके मूर्ख ठहरते हैं।

12. For wee dare not make our selues of the nomber, or to compare our selues to them, which praise themselues: but they vnderstand not that they measure themselues with themselues, and compare themselues with themselues.

13. हम तो सीमा से बाहर घमण्ड कदापि न करेंगे, परन्तु उसी सीमा तक जो परमेश्वर ने हमारे लिये ठहरा दी है, और उस में तुम भी आ गए हो और उसी के अनुसार घमण्ड भी करेंगे।

13. But we wil not reioyce of things, which are not within our measure, but according to the measure of the line, whereof God hath distributed vnto vs a measure to attaine euen vnto you.

14. क्योंकि हम अपनी सीमा से बाहर अपने आप को बढ़ाना नहीं चाहते, जैसे कि तुम तक न पहुंचने की दशा में होता, बरन मसीह का सुसमाचार सुनाते हुए तुम तक पहुंच चुके हैं।

14. For we stretche not our selues beyonde our measure, as though wee had not attained vnto you: for euen to you also haue we come in preaching the Gospel of Christ,

15. और हम सीमा से बाहर औरों के परिश्रम पर घमण्उ नहीं करते; परन्तु हमें आशा है, कि ज्यों ज्यों तुम्हारा विश्वास बढ़ता जाएगा त्यों त्यों हम अपनी सीमा के अनुसार तुम्हारे कारण और भी बढ़ते जाएंगे।

15. Not boasting of things which are without our measure: that is, of other mens labours: and we hope, when your faith shall increase, to bee magnified by you according to our line aboundantly,

16. कि हम तुम्हारे सिवानों से आगे बढ़कर सुसमाचार सुनाएं, और यह नहीं, कि हम औरों की सीमा के भीतर बने बनाए कामों पर घमण्ड करें।

16. And to preache the Gospel in those regions which are beyonde you: not to reioyce in another mans line, that is, in the thinges that are prepared alreadie.

17. परनतु जो घमण्ड करे, वह प्रभु पर घमण्ड करें।
यिर्मयाह 9:24

17. But let him that reioyceth, reioyce in the Lord.

18. क्योंकि जो अपनी बड़ाई करता है, वह नहीं, परन्तु जिस की बड़ाई प्रभु करता है, वही ग्रहण किया जाता है।।

18. For hee that praiseth himselfe, is not alowed, but he whome the Lord praiseth.
