1. जब यीशु अपने बारह चेलों को आज्ञा दे चुका, तो वह उन के नगरों में उपदेश और प्रचार करने को वहां से चला गया।।

1. When Jesus had finished giving instructions to His twelve disciples, He departed from there to teach and preach in their cities.

2. यूहन्ना ने बन्दीगृह में मसीह के कामों का समाचार सुनकर अपने चेलों को उस से यह पूछने भेजा।

2. Now when John, while imprisoned, heard of the works of Christ, he sent [word] by his disciples

3. कि क्या आनेवाला तू ही है: या हम दूसरे की बाट जोहें?
मलाकी 3:1

3. and said to Him, 'Are You the Expected One, or shall we look for someone else?'

4. यीशु ने उत्तर दिया, कि जो कुछ तुम सुनते हो और देखते हो, वह सब जाकर यूहन्ना से कह दो।

4. Jesus answered and said to them, 'Go and report to John what you hear and see:

5. कि अन्धे देखते हैं और लंगड़े चलते फिरते हैं; कोढ़ी शुद्ध किए जाते हैं और बहिरे सुनते हैं, मुर्दे जिलाए जाते हैं; और कंगालों को सुसमाचार सुनाया जाता है।

5. [the] BLIND RECEIVE SIGHT and [the] lame walk, [the] lepers are cleansed and [the] deaf hear, [the] dead are raised up, and [the] POOR HAVE THE GOSPEL PREACHED TO THEM.

6. और धन्य है वह, जो मेरे कारण ठोकर न खाए।

6. 'And blessed is he who does not take offense at Me.'

7. जब वे वहां से चल दिए, तो यीशु यूहन्ना के विषय में लोगों से कहने लगा; तुम जंगल में क्या देखते गए थे? क्या हवा से हिलते हुए सरकण्डे को?

7. As these men were going [away], Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John, 'What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken by the wind?

8. फिर तुम क्या देखने गए थे? देखो, जो कोमल वस्त्रा पहिनते हैं, वे राजभवनों में रहते हैं।

8. 'But what did you go out to see? A man dressed in soft [clothing]? Those who wear soft [clothing] are in kings' palaces!

9. तो फिर क्यों गए थे? क्या किसी भविष्यद्वक्ता को देखने को? हां; मैं तुम से कहता हूं, बरन भविष्यद्वक्ता से भी बड़े को।

9. 'But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and one who is more than a prophet.

10. यह वही है, जिस के विषय में लिखा है, कि देख; मैं अपने दूत को तेरे आगे भेजता हूं, जो तेरे आगे तेरा मार्ग तैयार करेगा।
निर्गमन 23:20, मलाकी 3:1

10. 'This is the one about whom it is written, 'BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER AHEAD OF YOU, WHO WILL PREPARE YOUR WAY BEFORE YOU.'

11. मैं तुम से सच कहता हूं, कि जो स्त्रियों से जन्मे हैं, उन में से यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देनेवालों से कोई बड़ा नहीं हुआ; पर जो स्वर्ग के राज्य में छोटे से छोटा है वह उस से बड़ा है।

11. 'Truly I say to you, among those born of women there has not arisen [anyone] greater than John the Baptist! Yet the one who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.

12. यूहन्ना बपतिस्मा देनेवाले के दिनों से अब तक स्वर्ग के राज्य पर जोर होता रहा है, और बलवाल उसे छीन लेते हैं।

12. 'From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force.

13. यूहन्ना तक सारे भविष्यद्वक्ता और व्यवस्था भविष्यद्ववाणी करते रहे।

13. 'For all the prophets and the Law prophesied until John.

14. और चाहो तो मानो, एलिरयाह जो आनेवाला था, वह यही है।
मलाकी 4:5

14. 'And if you are willing to accept [it], John himself is Elijah who was to come.

15. जिस के सुनने के कान हों, वह सुन ले।

15. 'He who has ears to hear, let him hear.

16. मैं इस समय के लोगों की उपमा किस से दूं? वे उन बालकों के समान हैं, जो बाजारों में बैठे हुए एक दूसरे से पुकारकर कहते हैं।

16. 'But to what shall I compare this generation? It is like children sitting in the market places, who call out to the other [children],

17. कि हम ने तुम्हारे लिये बांसली बजाई, और तुम न नाचे; हम ने विलाप किया, और तुम ने छाती नहीं पीटी।

17. and say, 'We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.'

18. क्योंकि यूहन्ना न खाता आया और न पीता, और वे कहते हैं कि उस में दुष्टात्मा है।

18. 'For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, 'He has a demon!'

19. मनुष्य का पुत्रा खाता- पीता आया, और वे कहते हैं कि देखो, पेटू और पियक्कड़ मनुष्य, महसूल लेनेवालों और पापियों का मित्रा; पर ज्ञान अपने कामों में सच्चा ठहराया गया है।

19. 'The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, 'Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!' Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.'

20. तब वह उन नगरों को उलाहना देने लगा, जिन में उस ने बहुतेरे सामर्थ के काम किए थे; क्योंकि उन्हों ने अपना मन नहीं फिराया था।

20. Then He began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles were done, because they did not repent.

21. हाय, खुराजीन; हाय, बैतसैदा; जो सामर्थ के काम तुम में किए गए, यदि वे सूर और सैदा में किए जाते, तो टाट ओढ़कर, और राख में बैठकर, वे कब से मन फिरा लेते।

21. 'Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles had occurred in Tyre and Sidon which occurred in you, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.

22. परन्तु मैं तुम से कहता हूं; कि न्याय के दिन तुम्हारी दशा से सूर और सैदा की दशा अधिक सहने योग्य होगी।

22. 'Nevertheless I say to you, it will be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in [the] day of judgment than for you.

23. और हे कफरनहूम, क्या तू स्वर्ग तक ऊंचा किया जाएगा? तू तो अधोलोक तक नीचे जाएगा; जो सामर्थ के काम तुझ में किए गए है, यदि सदोम में किए जाते, तो वह आज तक बना रहता।

23. 'And you, Capernaum, will not be exalted to heaven, will you? You will descend to Hades; for if the miracles had occurred in Sodom which occurred in you, it would have remained to this day.

24. पर मैं तुम से कहता हूं, कि न्याय के दिन तेरी दशा से सदोम के देश की दशा अधिक सहने योग्य होगी।

24. 'Nevertheless I say to you that it will be more tolerable for the land of Sodom in [the] day of judgment, than for you.'

25. उसी समय यीशु ने कहा, हे पिता, स्वर्ग और पृथ्वी के प्रभु; मैं तेरा धन्यवाद करता हूं, कि तू ने इन बातों को ज्ञानियों और समझदारों से छिपा दखा, और बालकों पर प्रगट किया है।

25. At that time Jesus said, 'I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from [the] wise and intelligent and have revealed them to infants.

26. हां, हे पिता, क्योंकि तुझे यही अच्छा लगा।

26. 'Yes, Father, for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.

27. मेरे पिता ने मुझे सब कुछ सौंपा है, और कोई पुत्रा को नहीं जानता, केवल पिता; और कोई पिता को नहीं जानता, केवल पुत्रा और वह जिस पर पुत्रा उसे प्रगट करना चाहे।

27. 'All things have been handed over to Me by My Father; and no one knows the Son except the Father; nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and anyone to whom the Son wills to reveal [Him].

28. हे सब परिश्रम करनेवालों और बोझ से दबे लोगों, मेरे पास आओ; मैं तुम्हें विश्राम दूंगा।

28. 'Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

29. मेरा जूआ अपने ऊपर उठा लो; और मुझ से सीखो; क्योंकि मैं नम्र और मन में दी हूं: और तुम अपने मन में विश्राम पाओगे।
यिर्मयाह 6:16

29. 'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS.

30. क्योंकि मेरा जूआ सहज और मेरा बोझ हल्का है।।

30. 'For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.'
