1. जो बात यहोवा कहता है, उसे सुनो: उठकर, पहाड़ों के साम्हने वादविवाद कर, और टीले भी तेरी सुनने पाएं।

1. Hear ye now what the LORD saith; Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.

2. हे पहाड़ों, और हे पृथ्वी की अटल नेव, यहोवा का वादविवाद सुनो, क्योंकि यहोवा का अपनी प्रजा के साथ मुक मा है, और वह इस्राएल से वादविवाद करता है।।

2. Hear ye, O mountains, the LORD'S controversy, and ye strong foundations of the earth: for the LORD hath a controversy with his people, and he will plead with Israel.

3. हे मेरी प्रजा, मैं ने तेरा क्या किया, और क्या करके मैं ने तुझे उकता दिया है?

3. O my people, what have I done to thee? and wherein have I wearied thee? testify against me,

4. मेरे विरूद्ध साक्षी दे! मैं तो तुझे मि देश से निकाल ले आया, और दासत्व के घर में से तुझे छुड़ा लाया; और तेरी अगुवाई करने को मूसा, हारून और मरियम को भेज दिया।

4. For I brought thee out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee from the house of servants; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

5. हे मेरी प्रजा, स्मरण कर, कि मोआब के राजा बालक ने तेरे विरूद्ध कौन सी युक्ति की? और बोर के पुत्रा बिलाम ने उसको क्या सम्मत्ति दी? और शित्तिम से गिल्गाल तक की बातों का स्मरण कर, जिस से तू यहोवा के धर्म के काम समझ सके।।

5. O my people, remember now what Balak king of Moab consulted, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal; that ye may know the righteousness of the LORD.

6. मैं क्या लेकर यहोवा के सम्मुख आऊं, और ऊपर रहनेवाले परमेश्वर के साम्हने झुकूं? क्या मैं होमबलि के लिये एक एक वर्ष के बछड़े लेकर उसके सम्मुख आऊं?

6. Wherewith shall I come before the LORD, {and} bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt-offerings, with calves of a year old?

7. क्या यहोवा हजारों मेढ़ों से, वा तेल की लाखों नदियों से प्रसन्न होगा? क्या मैं अपने अपराध के प्रायश्चित्त में अपने पहिलौठे को वा अपने पाप के बदले में अपने जन्माए हुए किसी को दूं?

7. Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, {or} with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my first-born {for} my transgression, the fruit of my body {for} the sin of my soul?

8. हे मनुष्य, वह तुझे बता चुका है कि अच्छा क्या है; और यहोवा तुझ से इसे छोड़ और क्या चाहता है, कि तू न्याय से काम करे, और कृपा से प्रीति रखे, और अपने परमेश्वर के साथ नम्रता से चले?
मत्ती 23:23

8. He hath shown thee, O man, what {is} good; and what the LORD doth require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

9. यहोवा इस नगर को पुकार रहा है, और सम्पूर्ण ज्ञान, तेरे नाम का भय मानना है: राजदण्ड की, और जो उसे देनेवाला है उसकी बात सुनो!

9. The LORD'S voice crieth to the city, and {the man of} wisdom shall see thy name: hear ye the rod, and who hath appointed it.

10. क्या अब तक दुष्ट के घर में दुष्टता से पाया हुआ धन और छोटा एपा घृणित नहीं है?

10. Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure {that is} abominable?

11. क्या मैं कपट का तराजू और घटबढ़ के बटखरों की थैली लेकर पवित्रा ठहर सकता हूं?

11. Shall I count {them} pure with the wicked balances, and with the bag of deceitful weights?

12. यहां के धनवान् लोग उपद्रव का काम देखा करते हैं; और यहां के सब रहनेवाले झूठ बोलते हैं और उनके मुंह से छल की बातें निकलती हैं।

12. For the rich men thereof are full of violence, and the inhabitants thereof have spoken lies, and their tongue {is} deceitful in their mouth.

13. इस कारण मैं तुझे मारते मारते बहुत ही घायल करता हूं, और तेरे पापों के कारण तुझ को उजाड़ डालता हूं।

13. Therefore also will I make {thee} sick in smiting thee, in making {thee} desolate because of thy sins.

14. तू खाएगा, परन्तु तृप्त न होगा, तेरा पट जलता ही रहेगा; और तू अपनी सम्पत्ति लेकर चलेगा, परन्तु न बचा सकेगा, और जो कुछ तू बचा भी ले, उसको मैं तलवार चलाकर लुटवा दूंगा।

14. Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down {shall be} in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and {that} which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.

15. तू बोएगा, परन्तु लवेगा नहीं; तू जलपाई का तेल निकालेगा, परन्तु लगाने न पाएगा; और दाख रौंदेगा, परन्तु दाखमधु पीने न पाएगा।

15. Thou shalt sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou shalt tread the olives, but thou shalt not anoint thee with oil; and sweet wine, but shalt not drink wine.

16. क्योंकि वे ओम्री की विधियों पर, और अहाब के घराने के सब कामों पर चलते हैं; और तुम उनकी युक्तियों के अनुसार चलते हो; इसलिये मैं तुझे उजाड़ दूंगा, और इस नगर के रहनेवालों पर ताली बजवाऊंगा, और तुम मेरी प्रजा की नामधराई सहोगे।।

16. For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab, and ye walk in their counsels; that I should make thee a desolation, and the inhabitants thereof an hissing: therefore ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
