1. अपने मुंह में नरसिंगा लगा। वह उकाब की नाईं यहोवा के घर पर झपटेगा, क्योंकि मेरे घर के लोगों ने मेरी वाचा तोड़ी, और मेरी व्यवस्था का उल्लंघन किया है।

1. To thy mouth, with a horn! Like an eagle, on the house of Yahweh, because they have violated my covenant, and, against my law, have they transgressed.

2. वे मुझ से पुकारकर कहेंगे, हे हमारे परमेश्वर, हम इस्राएली लोग तुझे जानते हैं।

2. Unto me, shall they make outcry, My God! we acknowledge thee we , Israel!

3. परन्तु इस्राएल ने भलाई को मन से उतार दिया है; शत्रु उसके पीछे पड़ेगा।।

3. Israel hath cast away what is good, an enemy, shall pursue him.

4. वे राजाओं को ठहराते रहे, परन्तु मेरी इच्छा से नहीं। वे हाकिमों को भी ठहराते रहे, परन्तु मेरे अनजाने में। उन्हों ने अपना सोना- चान्दी लेकर मूरतें बना लीं जिस से वे ही नाश हो जाएं।

4. They, have appointed kings, but not from me, have made rulers, but I have not acknowledged them: of their silver and their gold, they made themselves idols, to the end they might be cut off.

5. हे शोमरोन, उस ने तेरे बछड़े को मन से उतार दिया है, मेरा क्रोध उन पर भड़का है। वे निर्दोष होने में कब तक विलम्ब करेंगे?

5. He hath cast away thy calf, O Samaria, kindled is mine anger upon them, How long shall they not endure to be innocent?

6. यह इस्राएल से हुआ है।। एक कारीगर ने उसे बनाया; वह परमेश्वर नहीं है। इस कारण शोमरोन का वह बछड़ा टुकड़े टुकड़े हो जाएगा।।

6. For, of Israel, is even that thing! A craftsman, made it, and, a No-god, it is! For, into fragments, shall the Calf of Samaria be broken.

7. वे वायु बोते हैं, और वे बवण्डर लवेंगे। उनके लिये कुछ खेत रहेगा नहीं न उनकी उपज से कुछ आटा होगा; और यदि हो भी तो परदेशी उसको खा डालेंगे।

7. For, to the wind, they sow, and, to the whirlwind, they reap: stalk, hath it none, That which shooteth forth, shall yield no meal, If so be it yield, foreigners, swallow it lip,

8. इस्राएल निगला गया; अब वे अन्यजातियों में ऐसे निकम्मे ठहरे जैसे तुच्छ बरतन ठहरता है।

8. Swallowed up, is Israel; Now, have they gone among the nations, like a vessel in which no man taketh, delight.

9. क्योंकि वे अश्शूर को ऐसे चले गए, जैसा जंगली गदहा झुण्ड से बिछुड़ के रहता है; एप्रैम ने यारों को मजदूरी पर रखा है।

9. For, they, have gone up to Assyria, A wild ass going alone for himself, is Ephraim! They have hired lovers!

10. यद्यपि वे अन्यजातियों में से मजदूर बनाकर रखें, तौभी मैं उनको इकट्ठा करूंगा। और वे हाकिमों और राजा के बोझ के कारण घटने लेगेंगे।

10. Even though they hire them among the nations, at once, will I gather them, when they have begun to be diminished by reason of the burden of the king of rulers.

11. एप्रैम ने पाप करने को बहुत सी वेदियां बनाई हैं, वे ही वेदियां उसके पापी ठहरने का कारण भी ठहरीं।

11. Because Ephraim hath multiplied altars sinfully, they have become to him the altars of sin.

12. मैं तो उनके लिये अपनी व्यवस्था की लाखों बातें लिखता आया हूं, परन्तु वे उन्हें पराया समझते हैं।

12. I have been wont to write for him the myriad things of my law, Like something alien, have they been accounted.

13. वे मेरे लिये बलिदान तो करते हैं, और पशु बलि भी करते हैं, परन्तु उसका फल मांस ही है; वे आप ही उसे खाते हैं; परन्तु यहोवा उन से प्रसन्न नहीं होता। अब वह उनके अधर्म की सुधि लेकर उनके पाप का दण्ड देगा; वे मि में लौट जाएंगे।

13. My sacrificial gifts, have they been sacrificing as common flesh, and have eaten, Yahweh, hath not accepted them, Now, will he call to mind their iniquity, that he may punish their sin, they, to Egypt, will return.

14. क्योंकि इस्राएल ने अपने कर्त्ता को बिसरा कर महल बनाए, और यहूदा ने बहुत से गढ़वाले नगरों को बसाया है; परन्तु मैं उनके नगरों में आग लगाऊंगा, और उस से उनके गढ़ भस्म हो जाएंगे।

14. And so Israel hath forgotten his Maker, and hath built temples, and, Judah, hath multiplied fortified cities, Therefore will I send a fire upon his cities, and it shall consume the palaces thereof.
