1. योशिरयाह के पुत्रा, यहूदा के राजा यहोयाकीम के राज्य के आरम्भ में यहोवा की ओर से यह वचन यिर्मयाह के पास पहुंचा।

1. In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word unto Jeremiah, from Yahweh, saying:

2. यहोवा ने मुझ से यह कहा, बन्धन और जूए बनवाकर अपनी गर्दन पर रख।

2. Thus, said Yahweh unto me, Make thee, bonds and bars, and put them upon thine own neck.

3. तब उन्हें एदोम और मोआब और अम्मोन और सोर और सीदोन के राजाओं के पास, उन दूतों के हाथ भेजना जो यहूदा के राजा सिदकिरयाह के पास यरूशलेम में आए हैं।

3. Then shalt thou send them unto the king of Edom and unto the king of Moab and unto the king of the sons of Ammon, and unto the king of Tyre and unto the king of Zidon, by the hand of messengers coming into Jerusalem, unto Zedekiah king of Judah.

4. और उनको उनके स्वामियों के लिये यह कहकर आज्ञा देना, कि, इस्राएल का परमेश्वर सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है,

4. And thou shall give them charge unto their lords saying, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts God of Israel, Thus shall ye say unto your lords:

5. अपने अपने स्वामी से यों कहो कि पृथ्वी को और पृथ्वी पर के मनुष्यों और पशुओं को अपनी बड़ी शक्ति और बढ़ाई हुई भुजा के द्वारा मैं ने बनाया, और जिस किसी को मैं चाहता हूँ उसी को मैं उन्हें दिया करता हूँ।

5. I, made The earth The man and the beast that are on the face of the earth By my great power, And by mine outstretched arm, And gave it to whomsoever was right in mine own eyes.

6. अब मैं ने ये सब देश, अपने दास बाबुल के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर को आप ही दे दिए हैं; और मैदान के जीवजन्तुओं को भी मैं ने उसे दिया है कि वे उसके आधीन रहें।

6. Now, therefore, I, have given all these lands, into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon my servant, Moreover also, the wild beast of the field, have I given him, to serve him.

7. ये सब जातियां उसके और उसके बाद उसके बेटे और पोते के आधीन उस समय तक रहेंगी जब तक उसके भी देश का दिन न आए; तब बहुत सी जातियां और बड़े बड़े राजा उस से भी अपनी सेवा करवाएंगे।

7. Therefore shall all the nations serve him, and his son, and his sons son, until the time even of his own land, itself arrive, when many nations and great kings, shall use him as a slave.

8. सो जो जाति वा राज्य बाबुल के राजा नबूकदनेस्सर के आधीन न हो और उसका जूआ अपनी गर्दन पर न ले ले, उस जाति को मैं तलवार, महंगी और मरी का दण्ड उस समय तक देता रहूंगा जब तक उसको उसके हाथ के द्वारा मिटा न दूं यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

8. And it shall come to pass that, the nation or kingdom which will not serve him, even Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and that will not put its neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, with sword and with famine, and with pestilence, will I bring punishment upon that nation, Declareth Yahweh, until I have consumed them by his hand.

9. इसलिये तुम लोग अपने भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और भावी कहनेवालों और टोनहों और तांत्रिकों की ओर चित्त मत लगाओ जो तुम से कहते हैं कि तुम को बाबुल के राजा के आधीन नहीं होना पड़ेगा।

9. Ye, therefore do not ye hearken unto your prophets, nor unto your diviners, nor unto your dreams, nor unto your users of hidden arts nor unto your mutterers of incantations, in that, they, are speaking unto you saying, Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon;

10. क्योंकि वे तुम से झूठी भविष्यद्वाणी करते हैं, जिस से तुम अपने अपने देश से दूर हो जाओ और मैं आप तुम को दूर करके नष्ट कर दूं।

10. for falsehood, are they prophesying unto you, that ye may be far removed from off your own soil, and I drive you out, and ye be destroyed

11. परन्तु जो जाति बाबुल के राजा का जूआ अपनी गर्दन पर लेकर उसके आधीन रहेगी उसको मैं उसी के देश में रहने दूंगा; और वह उस में खेती करती हुई बसी रहेगी, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

11. But the nation that shall bring its neck into the yoke of the king of Babylon and serve him, I will let them remain in quietness upon their own soil, Declareth Yahweh, and they shall till it, and dwell therein.

12. और यहूदा के राजा सिदकिरयाह से भी मैं ने ये बातें कहीं, अपनी प्रजा समेत तू बाबुल के राजा का जूआ अपनी गर्दन पर ले, और उसके और उसकी प्रजा के आधीन रहकर जीवित रह।

12. Also unto Zedekiah king of Judah, spake I, according to all these words saying, Bring your necks into the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him and his people and live!

13. जब यहोवा ने उस जाति के विषय जो बाबुल के राजा के आधीन न हो, यह कहा है कि वह तलवार, महंगी और मरी से नाश होगी; तो फिर तू क्यों अपनी प्रजा समेत मरना चाहता है?

13. Wherefore, should ye die, thou, and thy people, by sword, by famine, and by pestilence, as Yahweh hath spoken against the nation that will not serve the king of Babylon?

14. जो भविष्यद्वक्ता तुझ से कहते हैं कि तुझ को बाबुल के राजा के आधीन न होना पड़ेगा, उनकी मत सुन; क्योंकि वे तुझ से झूठी भविष्यद्वाणी करते हैं।

14. Do not, then hearken unto the words of the prophets who are speaking unto you, saying Ye shall not serve the king of Babylon, for falsehood, are they prophesying unto you.

15. यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि मैं ने उन्हें नहीं भेजा, वे मेरे नाम से झूठी भिकष्यद्वाणी करते हैं; और इसका फल यही होगा कि मैं तुझ को देश से निकाल दूंगा, और तू उन नबियों समेत जो तुझ से भविष्यद्वाणी करते हैं नष्ट हो जाएगा।
मत्ती 7:22

15. For I have not sent them, Declareth Yahweh, but they are prophesying in my name, falsely, to the end I may drive yon out and ye be destroyed, ye and the prophets who are prophesying unto you.

16. तब याजकों और साधारण लोगों से भी मैं ने कहा, यहोवा यों कहता है, तुम्हारे जो भविष्यद्वक्ता तुम से यह भविष्यद्वाणी करते हैं कि यहोवा के भवन के पात्रा अब शीघ्र ही बाबुल से लौटा दिए जाएंगे, उनके वचनों की ओर कान मत धरो, क्योंकि वे तुम से झूठी भविष्यद्वाणी करते हैं।

16. Also unto the priests, and unto all this people, spake I, saying, Thus! saith Yahweh, Do not hearken unto the words of your prophets, who are prophesying unto you saying, Lo! the vessels of the house of Yahweh, are to be brought back out of Babylon now, quickly; for falsehood, are they prophesying unto you.

17. उनकी मत सुनो, बाबुल के राजा के आधीन होकर और उसकी सेवा करके जीवित रहो।

17. Do not hearken unto them, serve the king of Babylon land live! wherefore, should this city become a desolation?

18. यह नगर क्यों उजाड़ हो जाए? यदि वे भविष्यद्वक्ता भी हों, और यदि यहोवा का वचन उनके पास हो, तो वे सेनाओं के यहोवा से बिनती करें कि जो पात्रा यहोवा के भवन में और यहूदा के राजा के भवन में और यरूशलेम में रह गए हैं, वे बाबुल न जाने पाएं।

18. But, if prophets, they are, and if the word of Yahweh is with them, let them intercede, I pray you, with Yahweh of hosts, that the vessels which are left remaining in the house of Yahweh and the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem, come not into Babylon.

19. क्योंकि सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है कि जो खम्भे और पीतल की नान्द, गंगाल और कुर्सियां और और पात्रा इस नगर में रह गए हैं,

19. For Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts Concerning the pillars, and concerning the sea, and concerning the stands, and concerning the residue of the vessels that remain in this city

20. जिन्हें बाबुल का राजा नबूकदनेस्सर उस समय न ले गया जब वह यहोयाकीम के पुत्रा यहूदा के राजा यकोन्याह को और यहूदा और यरूशलेम के सब कुलीनों को बंधुआ करके यरूशलेम से बाबुल को ले गया था,

20. which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon took not when he carried away captive Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim king of Judah from Jerusalem to Babylon, with all the nobles of Judah and Jerusalem,

21. जो पात्रा यहोवा के भवन में और यहूदा के राजा के भवन में और यरूशलेम में रह गए हैं, उनके विषय में इस्राएल का परमेश्वर सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है कि वे भी बाबुल में पहुंचाए जाएंगे;

21. Yea Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts God of Israel Concerning the vessels that are left in thee house of Yahweh and the house of the king of Judah, and Jerusalem,

22. और जब तक मैं उनकी सुधि न लूं तब तक वहीं रहेंगे, और तब मैं उन्हें लाकर इस स्थान में फिर रख दूंगा, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

22. Into Babylon, shall they be taken And there, shall they remain, Until the day that I visit them, Declareth Yahweh, When I will bring them up, and restore them unto this place.
