1. सुनो, यहोवा का हाथ ऐसा छोटा नहीं हो गया कि उद्धार न कर सके, न वह ऐसा बहिरा हो गया है कि सुन न सके;

1. Lo! the hand of Yahweh is not too short to say, Neither is his ear too heavy to hear.

2. क्योंकि तुम्हारे हाथ हत्या से और तुम्हारी अंगुलियां अधर्म के कर्मो से अपवित्रा हो गई है; तुम्हारे मुंह से तो झूठ और तुम्हारी जीभ से कुटिल बातें निकलती हैं।

2. But, your iniquities, have become separators betwixt you and your God, And your sins, have caused a biding of face from you that he should-not hear.

3. क्योंकि तुम्हारे हाथ हत्या से और तुम्हारी अंगुलियां अधर्म के कर्मों से अपवित्रा हो गईं हैं; तुम्हारे मुंह से तो झूठ और तुम्हारी जीभ से कुटिल बातें निकलती हैं।

3. For, your hands, are defiled with blood, And, your fingers, with iniquity, Your lips, have spoken falsehood, and Your tongue, muttereth, perversity.

4. कोई धर्म के साथ नालिश नहीं करता, न कोई सच्चाई से मुक मा लड़ता है; वे मिथ्या पर भरोसा रखते हैं और झूठ बातें बकते हैं, उसको मानो उत्पात का गर्भ रहता, और वे अनर्थ को जन्म देते हैं।

4. None, sueth in righteousness, and None, pleadeth in faithfulness, Men are trusting in confusion, And speaking vanity, Conceiving wickedness And bringing forth iniquity:

5. वे सांपिन के अण्डे सेते और मकड़ी के जाले बनाते हैं; जो कोई उनके अण्डे खाता वह मर जाता है, और जब कोई एक को फोड़ता तब उस में से सपोला निकलता है।

5. Vipers eggs, do they hatch, Spiders threads, do they weave, he that eateth of their eggs, dieth, And, that which is crushed, bringeth forth an adder;

6. उनके जाले कपड़े का काम न देंगे, न वे अपने कामों से अपने को ढाप सकेंगे। क्योंकि उनके काम अनर्थ ही के होते हैं, और उनके हाथों से अपद्रव का काम होता है।

6. Their thread, shall not become a garment, Neither shall they cover themselves with their fabrics, Their fabrics, are fabrics of iniquity, Yea the product of violence is in their hands;

7. वे बुराई करने को दौड़ते हैं, और निर्दोष की हत्या करने को तत्पर रहते हैं; उनकी युक्तियां व्यर्थ हैं, उजाड़ और विनाश ही उनके मार्गों में हैं।

7. Their feet, to mischief, do run, And they speed to shed innocent blood, Their devices, are devices of iniquity, Wasting and destruction, are in their high roads;

8. शान्ति का मार्ग वे जानते ही नहीं और न उनके व्यवहार में न्याय है; उनके पथ टेढ़े हैं, जो कोई उन पर चले वह शान्ति न पाएगा।।
रोमियों 3:15-17

8. the way of well-being, have they not known, And there is no justice in their tracks, Their paths, have they made crooked for themselves, None who treadeth therein knoweth well being.

9. इस कारण न्याय हम से दूर है, और धर्म हमारे समीप ही नहीं आता हम उजियाले की बाट तो जोहते हैं, परन्तु, देखो अन्धियारा ही बना रहता है, हम प्रकाश की आशा तो लगाए हैं, परन्तु, घोर अन्धकार ही में चलते हैं।

9. For this cause, hath justice removed far from us, And righteousness overtaketh us not, We wait for light, But lo! darkness, For brightness, In thick darkness, we walk:

10. हम अन्धों के समान भीत टटोलते हैं, हां, हम बिना आंख के लोगों की नाईं टटोलते हैं; हम दिन- दोपहर रात की नाईं ठोकर खाते हैं, हृष्टपुष्टों के बीच हम मुर्दों के समान हैं।

10. We grope, as blind men for a wall, Yea, as men without eyes, do we grope, We have stumbled at broad noon as though it were twilight, In desolate places like the dead!

11. हम सब के सब रीछों की नाई चिल्लाते हैं और पण्डुकों के समान च्यूं च्यूं करते हैं; हम न्याय की बाट तो जोहते हैं, पर वह कहीं नहीं; और उद्धार की बाट जोहते हैं पर वह हम से दूर ही रहता है।

11. We growl like bears all of us, And, like doves, do we, mournfully coo, We wait For justice, and there is none, For salvation it is far from us!

12. क्योंकि हमारे अपराध तेरे साम्हने बहुत हुए हैं, हमारे पाप हमारे विरूद्ध साक्षी दे रहे हैं; हमारे अपराध हमारे संग हैं और हम अपने अधर्म के काम जानते हैं:

12. For our transgressions have multiplied before thee, And flour sins have witnessed against us, For, our transgressions, are with us, And as for our iniquities, we acknowledge them:

13. हम ने यहोवा का अपराध किया है, हम उस से मुकर गए और अपने परमेश्वर के पीछे चलना छोड़ दिया, हम अन्धेर करने लगे और उलट फेर की बातें कहीं, हम ने झूठी बातें मन में गढ़ीं और कही भी हैं।

13. Transgressing, and denying Yahweh, And turning away from following our God, Speaking oppression and revolt, Conceiving, and muttering from the heart, words of falsehood.

14. न्याय तो पीछे हटाया गया और धर्म दूर खड़ा रह गया; सच्चाई बाजार में गिर पड़ी और सिधाई प्रवेश नहीं करने पाती।

14. So then there hath been a driving back of justice, And righteousness, afar off, standeth, For truth, hath stumbled in the broad-way, And, right, cannot enter;

15. हां, सच्चाई खोई, और जो बुराई से भागता है सो शिकार हो जाता है।। यह देखकर यहोवा ने बुरा माना, क्योंकि न्याय जाता रहा,

15. And the truth hath been found missing, And he that hath turned away from wrong is liable to be despoiled, And when, Yahweh, looked, Then was it grievous in his eyes that there was no justice:

16. उस ने देखा कि कोई भी पुरूष नहीं, और इस से अचम्भा किया कि कोई बिनती करनेवाला नहीं; तब उस ने अपने ही भुजबल से उद्धार किया, और अपने धर्मी होने के कारण वह सम्भल गया।

16. When he saw that there was no mighty man, Then was he astonished that there was none to interpose, So his own arm brought him salvation, And his own righteousness, the same, upheld him;

17. उस ने धर्म को झिलम की नाई पहिन लिया, और उसके सिर पर उद्धार का टोप रखा गया; उस ने पलटा लेने का वस्त्रा धारण किया, और जलजलाहट को बागे की नाई पहिन लिया है।

17. And he put on Righteousness as a coat of mail, And a helmet of victory upon his head, And he put on the garments of avenging, for clothing, And wrapped about him as a cloak jealousy,

18. उनके कर्मों के अनुसार वह उनको फल देगा, अपने द्रोहियों पर वह अपना क्रोध भड़काएगा और अपने शत्रुओं को उनकी कमाई देगा; वह द्वीपवासियों को भी उनकी कमाई भर देगा।

18. According to their deeds, accordingly, will he repay, Indignation to his adversaries, Recompense to his enemies, To the Coastlands recompense, will he repay:

19. तब पश्चिम की ओर लोग यहोवा के नाम का, और पूर्व की ओर उसकी महिमा का भय मानेंगे; क्योंकि जब शत्रु महानद की नाईं चढ़ाई करेंगे तब यहोवा का आत्मा उसके विरूद्ध झण्डा खड़ा करेगा।।

19. That they may revere From the West the name of Yahweh, And from the Rising of the Sun his glory, For he will come in like a rushing stream, the breath of Yahweh, driving it on;

20. और याकूब में जो अपराध से मन फिराते हैं उनके लिये सिरयोन में एक छुड़ानेवाला आएगा, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

20. So shall come in for Zion, a Redeemer, Even for such as are turning from transgression in Jacob, Declareth Yahweh.

21. और यहोवा यह कहता है, जो वाचा मैं ने उन से बान्धी है वह यह है, कि मेरा आत्मा तुझ पर ठहरा है, और अपने वचन जो मैं ने तेरे मुंह में डाले हैं अब से लेकर सर्वदा तक वे मेरे मुंह से, और, तेरे पुत्रों और पोतों के मुंह से भी कभी न हटेंगे।।

21. And as for me, this, shall be my covenant with them, Saith Yahweh: My spirit that is upon thee, And my words which I have put in thy mouth, Shall not he taken out of thy mouth Nor out of the mouth of thy seed. Nor out of the mouth of thy seeds seed, Saith Yahweh, From henceforth even unto times age-abiding.
