1. हे परमेश्वर तू कब तक? क्या सदैव मुझे भूला रहेगा? तू कब तक अपना मुखड़ा मुझ से छिपाए रहेगा?

1. To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. HOW LONG will You forget me, O Lord? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?

2. मैं कब तक अपने मन ही मन में युक्तियां करता रहूं, और दिन भर अपने हृदय में दुखित रहा करूं, कब तक मेरा शत्रु मुझ पर प्रबल रहेगा?

2. How long must I lay up cares within me and have sorrow in my heart day after day? How long shall my enemy exalt himself over me?

3. हे मेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा मेरी ओर ध्यान दे और मुझे उत्तर दे, मेरी आंखों में ज्योति आने दे, नहीं तो मुझे मृत्यु की नींद आ जाएगी;

3. Consider and answer me, O Lord my God; lighten the eyes [of my faith to behold Your face in the pitchlike darkness], lest I sleep the sleep of death,

4. ऐसा न हो कि मेरा शत्रु कहे, कि मैं उस पर प्रबल हो गया; और ऐसा न हो कि जब मैं डगमगाने लगूं तो मेरे शत्रु मगन हों।।

4. Lest my enemy say, I have prevailed over him, and those that trouble me rejoice when I am shaken.

5. परन्तु मैं ने तो तेरी करूणा पर भरोसा रखा है; मेरा हृदय तेरे उद्धार से मगन होगा।

5. But I have trusted, leaned on, and been confident in Your mercy and loving-kindness; my heart shall rejoice and be in high spirits in Your salvation.

6. मैं परमेश्वर के नाम का भजन गाऊंगा, क्योंकि उस ने मेरी भलाई की है।।

6. I will sing to the Lord, because He has dealt bountifully with me.
