1. जब मनश्शे राज्य करने लगा तब वह बारह वर्ष का था, और यरूशलेम में पचपन वर्ष तक राज्य करता रहा।

1. A son of twelve years is Manasseh in his reigning, and fifty and five years he hath reigned in Jerusalem;

2. उस ने वह किया, जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा था, अर्थात् उन जातियों के घिनौने कामों के अनुसार जिनको यहोवा ने इस्राएलियों के साम्हने से देश से तिकाल दिया था।

2. and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, like the abominations of the nations that Jehovah dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel,

3. उस ने उन ऊंचे स्थानों को जिन्हें उसके पिता हिजकिरयाह ने तोड़ दिया था, फिर बनाया, और बाल नाम देवताओं के लिये वेदियां ओर अशेरा नाम मूरतें बनाई, और आकाश के सारे गण को दणडवत करता, और उनकी उपासना करता रहा।

3. and he turneth and buildeth the high places that Hezekiah his father hath broken down, and raiseth altars for Baalim, and maketh shrines, and boweth himself to all the host of the heavens, and serveth them.

4. और उस ने यहोवा के उस भवन मे वेदियां बनाई जिसके विषय यहोवा ने कहा था कि यरूशलेम में मेरा नाम सदा बना रहेगा।

4. And he hath built altars in the house of Jehovah of which Jehovah had said, 'In Jerusalem is My name to the age.'

5. वरन यहोवा के भवन के दोनों आंगनों में भी उस ने आकाश के सारे गण के लिये वेदियां बनाई।

5. And he buildeth altars to all the host of the heavens in the two courts of the house of Jehovah.

6. फिर उस ने हिन्नोम के बेटे की तराई में अपने लड़केबालों को होम करके चढ़ाया, और शुभ- अशुभ मुहूत को मानता, और टोना और तंत्रा- मंत्रा करता, और ओझों और भूतसिध्दिवालों से व्यवहार करता था। वरन उस ने ऐसे बहुत से काम किए, जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरे हैं और जिन से वह अप्रसन्न होता है।

6. And he hath caused his sons to pass over through fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom, and observed clouds and used enchantments and witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and a wizard; he hath multiplied to do the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, to provoke him to anger.

7. और उस ने अपनी खुदवाई हुई मूर्त्ति परमेश्वर के उस भवन में स्थापन की जिसके विषय परमेश्वर ने दाऊद और उसके पुत्रा सुलैमान से कहा था, कि इस भवन में, और यरूशलेम में, जिसको मैं ने इस्राएल के सब गोत्रों में से चुन लिया है मैं आना नाम सर्वदा रखूंगा,

7. And he placeth the graven image of the idol that he made in the house of God, of which God said unto David, and unto Solomon his son, 'In this house, and in Jerusalem that I have chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, I put My name to the age,

8. और मैं ऐसा न करूंगा कि जो देश मैं ने तुम्हारे पुरखाओं को दिया था, उस में से इस्राएल फिर मारा मारा फिरे; इतना अवश्य हो कि वे मेरी सब आज्ञाओं को अर्थात् मूसा की दी हुई सारी व्यवस्था और विधियों और नियमों को पालन करने की चौकसी करें।

8. and I add not to turn aside the foot of Israel from off the ground that I appointed to your fathers, only, if they watch to do all that I have commanded them -- to all the law, and the statutes, and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.'

9. और मनश्शे ने यहूदा और यरूशलेम के निवासियों को यहां तक भटका दिया कि उन्हों ने उन जातियों से भी बढ़कर बुराई की, जिन्हें यहोवा ने इस्राएलियों के साम्हने से विनाश किया था।

9. And Manasseh maketh Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, to do evil above the nations that Jehovah destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.

10. और यहोवा ने मनश्शे और उसकी प्रजा से बातें कीं, परन्तु उन्हों ने कुछ ध्यान नहीं दिया।

10. And Jehovah speaketh unto Manasseh and unto his people, and they have not attended,

11. तब यहोवा ने उन पर अश्शूर के सेनापतियों से चढ़ाई कराई, और ये मनश्शे को नकेल डालकर, और पीतल की बेड़ियां जकड़कर, उसे बाबेल को ले गए।

11. and Jehovah bringeth in against them the heads of the host that the king of Asshur hath, and they capture Manasseh among the thickets, and bind him with brazen fetters, and cause him to go to Babylon.

12. तब संकट में पड़कर वह अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा को मानने लगा, और अपने पूर्वजों के परमेश्वर के साम्हने बहुत दीन हुआ, और उस से प्रार्थना की।

12. And when he is in distress he hath appeased the face of Jehovah his God, and is humbled exceedingly before the God of his fathers,

13. तब उस ने प्रसन्न होकर उसकी बिनती सुनी, और उसको यरूशलेम में पहुंचाकर उसका राज्य लौटा दिया। तब मनश्शे को निश्चय हो गया कि यहोवा ही परमेश्वर है।

13. and prayeth unto Him, and He is entreated of him, and heareth his supplication, and bringeth him back to Jerusalem, to his kingdom, and Manasseh knoweth that Jehovah -- He [is] God.

14. इसके बाद उस ने दाऊदमुर से बाहर गीहोन के पश्चिम की ओर नाले में मच्छली फाटक तक एक शहरपनाह बनवाई, फिर ओपेल को घेरकर बहुत ऊंचा कर दिया; और यहूदा के सब गढ़वाले नगरों में सेनापति ठहरा दिए।

14. And after this he hath built an outer wall to the city of David, on the west of Gihon, in the valley, and at the entering in at the fish-gate, and it hath gone round to the tower, and he maketh it exceeding high, and he putteth heads of the force in all the cities of the bulwarks in Judah.

15. फिर उस ने पराये देवताओं को और यहोवा के भवन में की मूर्त्ति को, और जितनी वेदियां उस ने यहोवा के भवन के पर्वत पर, और यरूशलेम में बनवाई थीं, उन सब को दूर करके नगर से बाहर फेंकवा दिया।

15. And he turneth aside the gods of the stranger, and the idol, out of the house of Jehovah, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of Jehovah and in Jerusalem, and casteth [them] to the outside of the city.

16. तब उस ने यहोवा की वेदी की मरम्मत की, और उस पर मेलबलि और धन्यवादबलि चढ़ाने लगा, और यहूदियों को इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा की उपासना करते की आज्ञा दी।

16. And he buildeth the altar of Jehovah, and sacrificeth upon it sacrifices of peace-offerings and thank-offering, and saith to Judah to serve Jehovah, God of Israel;

17. तौभी प्रजा के लोग ऊंचे स्थानों पर बलिदान करते रहे, परन्तु केवल अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के लिये।

17. but still the people are sacrificing in high places, only -- to Jehovah their God.

18. मनश्शे के ओर काम, और उस ने जो प्रार्थना अपने परमेश्वर से की, और उन दर्शियों के वचन जो इस्राएल के परमेश्वर यहोवा के नाम से उस से बातें करते थे, यह सब इस्राएल के राजाओं के इतिहास में लिखा हुआ है।

18. And the rest of the matters of Manasseh, and his prayer unto his God, and the matters of the seers, those speaking unto him in the name of Jehovah, God of Israel, lo, they are [on the book of] the matters of the kings of Israel;

19. और उसकी प्रार्थना और वह कैसे सुनी गई, और उसका सारा पाप और विश्वासघात और उस ने दीन होने से पहिले कहां कहां ऊंचे स्थान बनवाए, और अशेरा नाम और खुदी हुई मूर्त्तियां खड़ी कराई, यह सब होशे के वचनों में जिखा है।

19. and his prayer, and his entreaty, and all his sin, and his trespass, and the places in which he had built high places, and established the shrines and the graven images before his being humbled, lo, they are written beside the matters of Hozai.

20. निदान मनश्शे अपने पुरखाओं के संग सो गया और उसे उसी के घर में मिट्टी दी गई; और उसका पुत्रा आमोन उसके स्थान पर राज्य करने लगा।

20. And Manasseh lieth with his fathers, and they bury him in his own house, and reign doth Amon his son in his stead.

21. जब आमोन राज्य करने लगा, तब वह बाईस वर्ष का था, और यरूशलेम में दो वर्ष तक राज्य करता रहा।

21. A son of twenty and two years [is] Amon in his reigning, and two years he hath reigned in Jerusalem,

22. और उस ने अपने पिता मनश्शे की नाई वह किया जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा है। और जितनी मूर्त्तियां उसके पिता मनश्शे ने खोदकर बनवाई थीं, वह भी उन सभों के साम्हने बलिदान करता और उन सभों की उपासना भी करता था।

22. and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, as did Manasseh his father, and to all the graven images that Manasseh his father had made hath Amon sacrificed, and serveth them,

23. और जैसे उसका पिता मनश्शे यहोवा के साम्हने दीन हुआ, वैसे वह दीन न हुआ, वरन आमोन अधिक दोषी होता गया।

23. and hath not been humbled before Jehovah, like the humbling of Manasseh his father, for Amon himself hath multiplied guilt.

24. और उसके कर्मचारियों ने द्रोह की गोष्ठी करके, उसको उसी के भवन में मार डाला।

24. And his servants conspire against him, and put him to death in his own house,

25. तब साधारण लोगों ने उन सभों को मार डाला, जिन्हों ने राजा आमोन से द्रोह की गोष्ठी की थी; और लोगों ने उसके पुत्रा योशिरयाह को उसके स्थान पर राजा बनाया।

25. and the people of the land smite all those conspiring against king Amon, and the people of the land cause Josiah his son to reign in his stead.
