1. जब योताम राज्य करने लगा तब वह पचीस वर्ष का था, और यरूशलेम में सोलह वर्ष तक राज्य करता रहा। और उसकी माता का नाम यरूशा था, जो सादोक की बेठी थी।

1. Iotham was fiue and twentie yere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned sixteene yeere in Ierusalem, and his mothers name was Ierushah the daughter of Zadok.

2. उस ने वह किया, जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में ठीक है, अर्थात् जैसा उसके पिता उज्जिरयाह ने किया था, ठीक वैसा ही उस ने भी किया : तौभी वह यहोवा के मन्दिर में न घुसा। और प्रजा के लोग तब भी बिगड़ी चाल चलते थे।

2. And hee did vprightly in the sight of the Lord according to all that his father Vzziah did, saue that hee entred not into the Temple of the Lord, and the people did yet corrupt their wayes.

3. उसी ने यहोवा के भवन के ऊपरवाले फाटक को बनाया, और ओपेल की शहरपनाह पर बहुत कुछ बनवाया।

3. He buylt the hie gate of the house of the Lord, and he buylt very much on the wall of the castle.

4. फिर उस ने यहूदा के पहाड़ी देश में कई नगर दृढ़ किए, और जंगलों में गढ़ और गुम्मट बनाए।

4. Moreouer hee buylt cities in the mountaines of Iudah, and in the forests he buylt palaces and towres.

5. और वह अम्मोनियों के राजा से युठ्ठ करके उन पर प्रबल हो गया। उसी वर्ष अम्मोनियों ने उसको सौ किक्कार चांदी, और दस दस हजार कोर गेहूं और जव दिया। और फिर दूसरे और तीसरे वर्ष में भी उन्हों ने उसे उतना ही दिया।

5. And he fought with the King of the children of Ammon, and preuailed against them. And the children of Ammon gaue him the same yere an hundreth talents of siluer, and ten thousande measures of wheate, and ten thousand of barley: this did the children of Ammon giue him both in the second yeere and the third.

6. यों योताम सामथ हो गया, क्योंकि वह अपने आप को अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा के सम्मुख जानकर सीधी चाल चलता था।

6. So Iotham became mightie because hee directed his way before the Lord his God.

7. योताम के और काम और उसके सब युठ्ठ और उसकी चाल चलन, इन सब बातों का वर्णन इस्राएल और यहूदा के राजाओं के इतिहास में लिखा है।

7. Concerning the rest of the acts of Iotham, and all his warres and his wayes, loe, they are written in the booke of the Kings of Israel, and Iudah.

8. जब वह राजा हुआ, तब पचीस वर्ष का था; और वह यरूशलेम में सोलह वर्ष तक राज्य करता रहा।

8. He was fiue and twentie yeere olde when he began to reigne, and reigned sixteene yeere in Ierusalem.

9. निदान योताम अपने पुरखाओं के संग सो गया और उसे दाऊदपुर में मिट्टी दी गई। और उसका पुत्रा आहाज उसके स्थान पर राज्य करने लगा।

9. And Iotham slept with his fathers, and they buryed him in the citie of Dauid: and Ahaz his sonne reigned in his stead.
