1. जब शाऊल के पुत्रा ने सुना, कि अब्नेर हेब्रोन में मारा गया, तब उसके हाथ ढीले पड़ गए, और सब इस्राएली भी घबरा गए।

2. शाऊल के पुत्रा के दो जन थे जो दलों के प्रधान थे; एक का नाम बाना, और दूसरे का नाम रेकाब था, ये दोनों बेरोतवासी बिन्यामीनी रिम्मोन के पुत्रा थे, ( क्योंकि बेरोत भी बिन्यामीन के भाग में गिना जाता है;

2. Forsothe twei men, princes of theues, weren to the sone of Saul; name to oon was Baana, and name to the tother was Rechab, the sones of Remmon Berothite, of the sones of Beniamyn; for also Beroth is arettid in Beniamyn.

3. और बेरोती लोग गितैम को भाग गए, और आज के दिन तक वहीं परदेशी होकर रहते हैं।)

4. शाऊल के पुत्रा योनातन के एक लगड़ा बेटा था। जब यिज्रेल से शाऊल और योनातन का समाचार आया तब वह पांच वर्ष का था; उस समय उसकी धाई उसे उठाकर भागी; और उसके उतावली से भागने के कारण वह गिरके लंगड़ा हो गया। और उसका नाम मपीबोशेत था।

5. उस बेरोती रिम्मोन के पुत्रा रेकाब और बाना कड़े घाम के समय ईशबोशेत के घर में जब वह दोपहर को विश्राम कर रहा था आए।

5. Therfor Rechab and Baana, sones of Remmon of Beroth, camen, and entriden in the hoot dai in to the hows of Isbosech, that slepte on his bed in myd dai, `and the womman oischer of the hous clensynge wheete, slepte strongli.

6. और गेहूं ले जाने के बहाने मे घर में घुस गए; और उसके पेट में मारा; तब रेकाब और उसका भाई बाना भाग निकले।

6. Forsothe thei entriden into the hows pryueli, and token eeris of whete; and Rechab, and Baana, his brother, smytiden Isbosech in the schar, and fledden.

7. जब वे घर में घुसे, और वह सोने की कोठरी में चारपाई पर सोता था, तब अन्हों ने उसे मार डाला, और उसका सिर काट लिया, और उसका सिर लेकर रातोंरात अराबा के मार्ग से चले।

7. Sotheli whanne thei hadden entrid in to the hous, he slepte on his bedde in a closet; and thei smytiden and killiden hym; and whanne `his heed was takun, thei yeden bi the weie of deseert in al the nyyt.

8. और वे ईशबोशेत का सिर हेब्रोन में दाऊद के पास ले जाकर राजा से कहने लगे, देख, शाऊल जो तेरा शत्रु और तेरे प्राणों का ग्राहक था, उसके पुत्रा ईशबोशेत का यह सिर है; तो आज के दिन यहोवा ने शाऊल और उसके वंश से मेरे प्रभु राजा का पलटा लिया है।

8. And thei brouyten the heed of Isbosech to Dauid, in Ebron, and thei seiden to the kyng, Lo! the heed of Isbosech, sone of Saul, thin enemy, that souyte thi lijf; and the Lord yaf to dai to oure lord the kyng veniaunce of Saul and of his seed.

9. दाऊद ने बेरोती रिम्मोन के पुत्रा रेकाब और उसके भाई बाना को उत्तर देकर उन से कहा, यहोवा जो मेरे प्राण को सब विपत्तियों से छुड़ाता आया है, उसके जीवन की शपथ,

9. Forsothe Dauid answeride to Rechab, and Baana, his brother, the sones of Remmon of Beroth, and seide to hem, The Lord lyueth, that delyueride my lijf fro al angwisch;

10. जब किसी ने यह जानकर, कि मैं शुभ समाचार देता हूं, सिकलग में मुझ को शाऊल के मरने का समाचार दिया, तब मैं ने उसको पकड़कर घात कराया; अर्थात् उसको समाचार का यही बदला मिला।

10. for Y helde hym that telde to me, and seide, Saul is deed, which man gesside hym silf to telle prosperitees, and Y killide hym in Sichelech, to whom it bihofte me yyue meede for message;

11. फिर जब दुष्ट मनुष्यों ने एक निर्दोष मनुष्य को उसी के घर में, वरन उसकी चारपाई ही पर घात किया, तो मैं अब अवश्य ही उसके खून का पलटा तुम से लूंगा, और तुम्हें धरती पर से नष्ट कर डालूंगा।

11. hou myche more now, whanne wickid men han slayn a giltles man in his hows on his bed, schal I not seke his blood of youre hond, and schal Y do awey you fro erthe?

12. तब दाऊद ने जवानों को आज्ञा दी, और उन्हों ने उनको घात करके उनके हाथ पांव काट दिए, और उनकी लोथों को हेब्रोन के पोखरे के पास टांग दिया। तब ईशबोशेत के सिर को उठाकर हेब्रोन में अब्नेर की कब्र में गाड़ दिया।

12. Therfor Dauid comaundide to his children, and thei killiden hem; and thei kittiden awei the hondis and `feet of hem, and hangiden hem ouer the cisterne in Ebron. Forsothe thei token the heed of Isbosech, and birieden in the sepulcre of Abner, in Ebron.
