1. पौलुस की ओर से जो परमेश्वर की इच्छा से यीशु मसीह का प्रेरित होने के लिये बुलाया गया और भाई सोस्थिनेस की ओर से।

1. Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through the will of God, and Sosthenes the brother,

2. परमेश्वर की उस कलीसिया के निाम जो कुरिन्थुस में है, अर्थात् उन के नाम जो मसीह यीशु में पवित्रा किए गए, और पवित्रा होने के लिये बुलाए गए हैं; और उन सब के नाम भी जो हर जगह हमारे और अपने प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम की प्रार्थना करते हैं।

2. to the assembly of God that is in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all those calling upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place -- both theirs and ours:

3. हमारे पिता परमेश्वर और प्रभु यीशु मसीह की ओर से तुम्हें अनुग्रह और शान्ति मिलती रहे।।

3. Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ!

4. मैं तुम्हारे विषय में अपने परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद सदा करता हूं, इसलिये कि परमेश्वर का यह अनुग्रह तुम पर मसीह यीशु में हुआ।

4. I give thanks to my God always concerning you for the grace of God that was given to you in Christ Jesus,

5. कि उस में होकर तुम हर बात में अर्थात् सारे वचन और सारे ज्ञान में धनी किए गए।

5. that in every thing ye were enriched in him, in all discourse and all knowledge,

6. कि मसीह की गवाही तुम में पक्की निकली।

6. according as the testimony of the Christ was confirmed in you,

7. यहां तक कि किसी बरदान में तुम्हें घटी नहीं, और तुम हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह के प्रगट होने की बाट जोहते रहते हो।

7. so that ye are not behind in any gift, waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ,

8. वह तुम्हें अन्त तक दृढ़ भी करेगा, कि तुम हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह के दिन में निर्दोष ठहरो।

8. who also shall confirm you unto the end -- unblamable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ;

9. परमेश्वर सच्चा है; जिस ने तुम को अपने पुत्रा हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह की संगति में बुलाया है।।

9. faithful [is] God, through whom ye were called to the fellowship of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10. हे भाइयो, मैं तुम से यीशु मसीह जो हमारा प्रभु है उसके नाम के द्वारा बिनती करता हूं, कि तुम सब एक ही बात कहो; और तुम में फूट न हो, परन्तु एक ही मन और एक ही मत होकर मिले रहो।

10. And I call upon you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that the same thing ye may all say, and there may not be divisions among you, and ye may be perfected in the same mind, and in the same judgment,

11. क्योंकि हे मेरे भाइयों, खलोए के घराने के लोगों ने मुझे तुम्हारे विषय में बताया है, कि तुम में झगड़े हो रहे हैं।

11. for it was signified to me concerning you, my brethren, by those of Chloe, that contentions are among you;

12. मेरा कहना यह है, कि तुम में से कोई तो अपने आप को पौलुस का, कोई अपुल्लोस का, कोई कैफा का, कोई मसीह का कहता है।

12. and I say this, that each one of you saith, 'I, indeed, am of Paul' -- 'and I of Apollos,' -- 'and I of Cephas,' -- 'and I of Christ.'

13. क्या मसीह बट गया? क्या पौलुस तुम्हारे लिये क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया? या तुम्हें पौलुस के नाम पर बपतिस्मा मिला?

13. Hath the Christ been divided? was Paul crucified for you? or to the name of Paul were ye baptized;

14. मैं परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करता हूं, कि क्रिस्पुस और गयुस को छोड़, मैं ने तुम में से किसी को भी बपतिस्मा नहीं दिया।

14. I give thanks to God that no one of you did I baptize, except Crispus and Gaius --

15. कहीं ऐसा नह हो, कि कोई कहे, कि तुम्हें मेरे नाम पर बपतिस्मा मिला।

15. that no one may say that to my own name I did baptize;

16. और मैं ने स्तिफनास के घराने को भी बपतिस्मा दिया; इन को छोड़, मैं नहीं जानता कि मैं ने और किसी को बपतिस्मा दिया।

16. and I did baptize also Stephanas' household -- further, I have not known if I did baptize any other.

17. क्योंकि मसीह ने मुझे बपतिस्मा देने को नहीं, बरन सुसमाचार सुनाने को भेजा है, और यह भी शब्दों के ज्ञान के अनुसार नहीं, ऐसा न हो कि मसीह का क्रूस व्यर्थ ठहरे।

17. For Christ did not send me to baptize, but -- to proclaim good news; not in wisdom of discourse, that the cross of the Christ may not be made of none effect;

18. क्योंकि क्रूस की कथा नाश होनेवालों के निकट मूर्खता है, परन्तु हम उद्धार पानेवालों के निकट परमेश्वर की सामर्थ है।

18. for the word of the cross to those indeed perishing is foolishness, and to us -- those being saved -- it is the power of God,

19. क्योकि लिखा है, कि मैं ज्ञानवानों के ज्ञान को नाश करूंगा, और समझदारों की समझ को तुच्छ कर दूंगा।
यशायाह 29:14

19. for it hath been written, 'I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the intelligence of the intelligent I will bring to nought;'

20. कहां रहा ज्ञानवान? कहां रहा शास्त्री? कहां इस संसार का विवादी? क्या परमेश्वर ने संसार के ज्ञान को मूर्खता नहीं ठहराया?
यशायाह 19:12, यशायाह 33:18, यशायाह 44:25

20. where [is] the wise? where the scribe? where a disputer of this age? did not God make foolish the wisdom of this world?

21. क्योंकि जब परमेश्वर के ज्ञान के अनुसार संसार ने ज्ञान से परमेश्वर को न जाना तो परमेश्वर को यह अच्छा लगा, कि इस प्रकार की मूर्खता के द्वारा विश्वास करनेवालों को उद्धार दे।

21. for, seeing in the wisdom of God the world through the wisdom knew not God, it did please God through the foolishness of the preaching to save those believing.

22. यहूदी तो चिन्ह चाहते हैं, और यूनानी ज्ञान की खोज में हैं।

22. Since also Jews ask a sign, and Greeks seek wisdom,

23. परन्तु हम तो उस क्रूस पर चढ़ाए हुए मसीह का प्रचार करते हैं जो यहूदियों के निकट ठोकर का कारण, और अन्यजातियों के निकट मूर्खता है।

23. also we -- we preach Christ crucified, to Jews, indeed, a stumbling-block, and to Greeks foolishness,

24. परन्तु जो बुलाए हुए हैं क्या यहूदी, क्या यूनानी, उन के निकट मसीह परमेश्वर की सामर्थ, और परमेश्वर का ज्ञान है।

24. and to those called -- both Jews and Greeks -- Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God,

25. क्योंकि परमेश्वर की मूर्खता मनुष्यों के ज्ञान से ज्ञानवान है; और परमेश्वर की निर्बलता मनुष्यों के बल से बहुत बलवान है।।

25. because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men;

26. हे भाइयो, अपने बुलाए जाने को तो सोचो, कि न शरीर के अनुसार बहुत ज्ञानवान, और न बहुत सामर्थी, और न बहुत कुलीन बुलाए गए।

26. for see your calling, brethren, that not many [are] wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble;

27. परन्तु परमेश्वर ने जगत के मूर्खों को चुन लिया है, कि ज्ञानवालों को लज्जित करे; और परमेश्वर ने जगत के निर्बलों को चुन लिया है, कि बलवानों को लज्जित करे।

27. but the foolish things of the world did God choose, that the wise He may put to shame; and the weak things of the world did God choose that He may put to shame the strong;

28. और परमेश्वर ने जगत के नीचों और तुच्छों को, बरन जो हैं भी नहीं उन को भी चुन लिया, कि उन्हें जो हैं, व्यर्थ ठहराए।

28. and the base things of the world, and the things despised did God choose, and the things that are not, that the things that are He may make useless --

29. ताकि कोई प्राणी परमेश्वर के साम्हने घमण्ड न करने पाए।

29. that no flesh may glory before Him;

30. परन्तु उसी की ओर से तुम मसीह यीशु में हो, जो परमेश्वर की ओर से हमारे लिये ज्ञान ठहरा अर्थात् धर्म, और पवित्राता, और छुटकारा।
यिर्मयाह 23:5-6

30. and of Him ye -- ye are in Christ Jesus, who became to us from God wisdom, righteousness also, and sanctification, and redemption,

31. ताकि जैसा लिखा है, वैसा ही हो, कि जो घमण्ड करे वह प्रभु में घमण्ड करे।।

31. that, according as it hath been written, 'He who is glorying -- in the Lord let him glory.'
