1. Then sayd the chiefe Priest, Are these things so?

2. उस ने कहा; हे भाइयो, और पितरो सुनो, हमारा पिता इब्राहीम हारान में बसने से पहिले जब मिसुपुतामिया में था; तो तेजोमय परमेश्वर ने उसे दर्शन दिया।

2. And he sayd, Ye men, brethren and Fathers, hearken. That God of glory appeared vnto our father Abraham, while he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran,

3. And said vnto him, Come out of thy countrey, and from thy kindred, and come into the land, which I shall shewe thee.

4. तब वह कसदियों के देश से निकलकर हारान में जा बसा; और उसके पिता की मृत्यु के बाद परमेश्वर ने उसको वहां से इस देश में लाकर बसाया जिस में अब तुम बसते हो।

4. Then came he out of the land of the Chaldeans, and dwelt in Charran. And after that his father was dead, God brought him from thence into this land, wherein ye now dwell,

5. And hee gaue him none inheritance in it, no, not the bredth of a foote: yet he promised that he would giue it to him for a possession, and to his seede after him, when as yet hee had no childe.

6. But God spake thus, that his seede should be a soiourner in a strange land: and that they should keepe it in bondage, and entreate it euill foure hundreth yeeres.

8. Hee gaue him also the couenant of circumcision: and so Abraham begate Isaac, and circumcised him the eight day: and Isaac begate Iacob, and Iacob the twelue Patriarkes.

9. And the Patriarkes moued with enuie, solde Ioseph into Egypt: but God was with him,

10. And deliuered him out of all his afflictions, and gaue him fauour and wisdome in the sight of Pharao King of Egypt, who made him gouernour ouer Egypt, and ouer his whole house.

11. Then came there a famine ouer all the land of Egypt and Chanaan, and great affliction, that our fathers found no sustenance.

12. परन्तु याकूब ने यह सुनकर, कि मिसर में अनाज है, हमारे बापदादों को पहिली बार भेजा।

12. But when Iacob heard that there was corne in Egypt, he sent our fathers first:

13. और दूसरी बार यूसुफ अपने भाइयों पर प्रगट को गया, और यूसुुफ की जाति फिरौन को मालूम हो गई।

13. And at the second time, Ioseph was knowen of his brethren, and Iosephs kindred was made knowen vnto Pharao.

14. तब यूसुफ ने अपने पिता याकूब और अपने सारे कुटुम्ब को, जो पछत्तर व्यक्ति थे, बुला भेजा।

14. Then sent Ioseph and caused his father to be brought, and all his kindred, euen threescore and fifteene soules.

15. So Iacob went downe into Egypt, and he dyed, and our fathers,

16. And were remoued into Sychem, and were put in the sepulchre, that Abraham had bought for money of the sonnes of Emor, sonne of Sychem.

17. परन्तु जब उस प्रतिज्ञा के पूरे होने का समय निकट आया, तो परमेश्वर ने इब्राहीम से की थी, तो मिसर में वे लोग बढ़ गए; और बहुत हो गए।

17. But when the time of the promise drewe neere, which God had sworne to Abraham, the people grewe and multiplied in Egypt,

18. Till another King arose, which knewe not Ioseph.

19. The same dealt subtilly with our kindred, and euill entreated our fathers, and made them to cast out their yong children, that they should not remaine aliue.

20. उस समय मूसा उत्पन्न हुआ जो बहुत ही सुन्दर था; और वह तीन महीने तक अपने पिता के घर में पाला गया।

20. The same time was Moses borne, and was acceptable vnto God, which was nourished vp in his fathers house three moneths.

21. परन्तु जब फेंक दिया गया तो फिरौन की बेटी ने उसे उठा लिया, और अपना पुत्रा करके पाला।

21. And when he was cast out, Pharaohs daughter tooke him vp, and nourished him for her owne sonne.

22. और मूसा को मिसरियों की सारी विद्या पढ़ाई गई, और वह बातों और कामों में सामर्थी था।

22. And Moses was learned in all the wisdome of the Egyptians, and was mightie in wordes and in deedes.

23. जब वह चालीस वर्ष का हुआ, तो उसके मन में आया कि मैं अपने इस्त्राएली भाइयों से भेंट करूं।

23. Nowe when he was full fourtie yeere olde, it came into his heart to visite his brethren, the children of Israel.

24. और उस ने एक व्यक्ति पर अन्याय होने देखकर, उसे बचाया, और मिसरी को मारकर सताए हुए का पलटा लिया।

24. And whe he saw one of them suffer wrong, he defended him, and auenged his quarell that had the harme done to him, and smote the Egyptian.

25. उस ने सोचा, कि मेरे भाई समझेंगे कि परमेश्वर मेरे हाथों से उन का उद्धार करेगा, परन्तु उन्हों ने न समझा।

25. For hee supposed his brethren would haue vnderstand, that God by his hande should giue them deliuerance: but they vnderstoode it not.

26. दूसरे दिन जब वे आपस में लड़ रहे थे, तो वह वहां आ निकला; और यह कहके उन्हें मेल करने के लिये समझाया, कि हे पुरूषो, तुम तो भाई भाई हो, एक दूसरे पर क्यों अन्याय करते हो?

26. And the next day, he shewed himselfe vnto them as they stroue, and woulde haue set them at one againe, saying, Syrs, ye are brethren: why doe ye wrong one to another?

27. परन्तु जो अपने पड़ोसी पर अन्याय कर रहा था, उस ने उसे यह कहकर हटा दिया, कि तुझे किस ने हम पर हाकिम और न्यायी ठहराया है?

27. But he that did his neighbour wrong, thrust him away, saying, Who made thee a prince, and a iudge ouer vs?

28. क्या जिस रीति से तू ने कल मिसरी को मार डाला मुझे भी मार डालना चाहता है?

28. Wilt thou kill mee, as thou diddest the Egyptian yesterday?

29. यह बात सुनकर, मूसा भागा; और मिद्यान देश में परदेशी होकर रहने लगा: और वहां उसके दो पुत्रा उत्पन्न हुए।

29. Then fled Moses at that saying, and was a stranger in the land of Madian, where he begate two sonnes.

30. जब पूरे चालीस वर्ष बीत गए, तो एक स्वर्ग दूत ने सीनै पहाड़ के जंगल में उसे जलती हुई झाड़ी की ज्वाला में दर्शन दिया।

30. And when fourtie yeres were expired, there appeared to him in the wildernes of mout Sina, an Angel of the Lord in a flame of fire, in a bush.

31. मूसा ने उस दर्शन को देखकर अचम्भा किया, और जब देखने के लिये पास गया, तो प्रभु का यह शब्द हुआ।

31. And when Moses sawe it, hee wondred at the sight: and as he drew neere to consider it, the voyce of the Lord came vnto him, saying,

32. कि मैं तेरे बापदादों, इब्राहीम, इसहाक और याकूब का परमेश्वर हूं: तब तो मूसा कांप उठा, यहां तक कि उसे देखने का हियाव न रहा।

32. I am the God of thy fathers, the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Iacob. Then Moses trembled, and durst not behold it.

33. तब प्रभु ने उस से कहा; अपने पावों से जूती उतार ले, क्योंकि जिस जगह तू खड़ा है, वह पवित्रा भूमि है।

33. Then the Lord said to him, Put off thy shoes from thy feete: for the place where thou standest, is holy ground.

34. मैं ने सचमुच अपने लोगों की दुर्दशा को जो मिसर में है, देखी है; और उन की आह और उन का रोना सुन लिया है; इसलिये उन्हें छुड़ाने के लिये उतरा हूं। अब आ, मैं तुझे मिसर में भेंजूंगा।

34. I haue seene, I haue seene the affliction of my people, which is in Egypt, and I haue heard their groning, and am come downe to deliuer them: and nowe come, and I will sende thee into Egypt.

35. जिस मूसा को उन्हों ने यह कहकर नकारा था कि तुझे किस ने हम पर हाकिम और न्यायी ठहराया है; उसी को परमेश्वर ने हाकिम और छुड़ानेवाला ठहराकर, उस स्वर्ग दूत के द्वारा जिस ने उसे झाड़ी में दर्शन दिया था, भेजा।

35. This Moses whome they forsooke, saying, Who made thee a prince and a iudge? the same God sent for a prince, and a deliuerer by the hand of the Angel, which appeared to him in the bush.

36. यही व्यक्ति मिसर और लाल समुद्र और जंगल में चालीस वर्ष तक अद्भुत काम और चिन्ह दिखा दिखाकर उन्हें निकाल लाया।

36. Hee brought them out, doing wonders, and miracles in the land of Egypt, and in the red sea, and in the wildernes fourtie yeeres.

37. यह वही मूसा है, जिस ने इस्त्राएलियों से कहा; कि परमेश्वर तुम्हारे भाइयों में से तुम्हारे लिये मुझ सा एक भविष्यद्वक्ता उठाएगा।

37. This is that Moses, which saide vnto the children of Israel, A Prophet shall the Lord your God raise vp vnto you, euen of your brethren, like vnto me: him shall ye heare.

38. यह वही है, जिस ने जंगल में कलीसिया के बीच उस स्वर्गदूत के साथ सीनै पहाड़ पर उस से बातें की, और हमारे बापदादों के साथ था: उसी को जीवित वचन मिले, कि हम तक पहुंचाए।

38. This is he that was in the Congregation, in the wildernes with the Angell, which spake to him in mount Sina, and with our fathers, who receiued the liuely oracles to giue vnto vs.

39. To whom our fathers would not obey, but refused, and in their hearts turned backe againe into Egypt:

40. और हारून से कहा; हमारे लिये ऐसा देवता बना, जो हमारे आगे आगे चलें; क्योंकि यह मूसा जा हमें मिसर देश से निकाल लाया, हम नहीं जानते उसे क्या हुआ?

40. Saying vnto Aaron, Make vs gods that may goe before vs: for we knowe not what is become of this Moses that brought vs out of the land of Egypt.

41. उन दिनों में उन्हों ने एक बछड़ा बनाकर, उस की मूरत के आगे बलि चढ़ाया; और अपने हाथों के कामों में मगन होने लगे।

41. And they made a calfe in those dayes, and offered sacrifice vnto the idole, and reioyced in the workes of their owne handes.

42. Then God turned himselfe away, and gaue them vp to serue the host of heauen, as it is written in the booke of the Prophets, O house of Israel, haue ye offred to me slaine beasts and sacrifices by the space of fourtie yeres in the wildernes?

43. और तुम मोलेक के तम्बू और रिफान देवता के तारे को लिए फिरते थे; अर्थात् उन आकारों को जिन्हें तुम ने दण्डवत करने के लिये बनाया था: सो मैं तुम्हें बाबुर के परे ले जाकर बसाऊंगा।

43. And ye tooke vp the tabernacle of Moloch, and the starre of your god Remphan, figures, which ye made to worship them: therefore I will carie you away beyond Babylon.

44. Our fathers had the tabernacle of witnes, in the wildernes, as hee had appointed, speaking vnto Moses, that he should make it according to the fashion that he had seene.

45. Which tabernacle also our fathers receiued, and brought in with Iesus into the possession of the Gentiles, which God draue out before our fathers, vnto the dayes of Dauid:

46. Who found fauour before God, and desired that hee might finde a tabernacle for the God of Iacob.

48. परन्तु परम प्रधान हाथ के बनाए घरों में नहीं रहता, जैसा कि भविष्यद्वक्ता ने कहा।

48. Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with handes, as saith the Prophet,

49. कि प्रभु कहता है, स्वर्ग मेरा सिहांसन और पृथ्वी मेरे पांवों तले की पीढ़ी है, मेरे लिये तुम किस प्रकार का घर बनाओगे? और मेरे विश्राम का कौन सा स्थान होगा?

49. Heauen is my throne, and earth is my footestoole: what house wil ye build for me, saith the Lord? or what place is it that I should rest in?

50. क्या ये सब वस्तुएं मेरे हाथ की बनाई नहीं? हे हठीले, और मन और कान के खतनारहित लोगो, तुम सदा पवित्रा आत्मा का साम्हना करते हो।

51. Ye stiffenecked and of vncircumcised heartes and eares, ye haue alwayes resisted the holy Ghost: as your fathers did, so do you.

53. Which haue receiued the Lawe by the ordinance of Angels, and haue not kept it.

54. ये बातें सुनकर वे जल गए और उस पर दांत पीसने लगे।

54. But when they heard these thinges, their heartes brast for anger, and they gnashed at him with their teeth.

55. परन्तु उस ने पवित्रा आत्मा से परिपूर्ण होकर स्वर्ग की ओर देखा और परमेश्वर की महिमा को और यीशु को परमेश्वर की दहिनी ओर खड़ा देखकर।

55. But he being full of the holy Ghost, looked stedfastly into heauen, and sawe the glory of God, and Iesus standing at the right hand of God,

56. कहा; देखों, मैं स्वर्ग को खुला हुआ, और मनुष्य के पुत्रा को परमेश्वर के दहिनी ओर खड़ा हुआ देखता हूं।

56. And said, Beholde, I see the heauens open, and the Sonne of man standing at the right hand of God.

57. तब उन्हों ने बड़े शब्द से चिल्लाकर कान बन्द कर लिए, और एक चित्त होकर उस पर झपटे।

57. Then they gaue a shoute with a loude voyce, and stopped their eares, and ranne vpon him violently all at once,

58. और उसे नगर के बाहर निकालकर पत्थरवाह करने लगे, और गवाहों ने अपने कपड़े उतार रखे।

58. And cast him out of the citie, and stoned him: and the witnesses layd downe their clothes at a yong mans feete, named Saul.

59. और वे स्तिुफनुस को पत्थरवाह करते रहे, और वह यह कहकर प्रार्थना करता रहा; कि हे प्रभु यीशु, मेरी आत्मा को ग्रहण कर।

59. And they stoned Steuen, who called on God, and said, Lord Iesus, receiue my spirit.

60. फिर घुटने टेककर ऊंचे शब्द से पुकारा, हे प्रभु, यह पाप उन पर मत लगा, और यह कहकर सो गया: और शाऊल उसके बध मे सहमत था।।

60. And he kneeled downe, and cried with a loude voyce, Lord, laye not this sinne to their charge. And when he had thus spoken, he slept.
