1. मलाकी के द्वारा इस्राएल के विषय में कहा हुआ यहोवा का भारी वचन।।

1. The oracle of the word of Yahweh, unto Israel, by the hand of Malachi.

2. यहोवा यह कहता है, मैं ने तुम से प्रेम किया है, परन्तु तुम पूछते हो, तू ने किस बात में हम से प्रेम किया है? यहोवा की यह वाणी है, क्या एसाव याकूब का भाई न था?
रोमियों 9:13

2. I have loved you, saith Yahweh, and yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Is not Esau, brother, to Jacob? enquireth Yahweh, Yet have I loved Jacob,

3. तौभी मैं ने याकूब से प्रेम किया परन्तु एसाव को अप्रिय जानकर उसके पहाड़ों को उजाड़ डाला, और उसकी बपौती को जंगल के गीदड़ों का कर दिया है।

3. And, Esau, have I hated, and made his mountains a desolation, and his inheritance a dwelling for the jackals of the wilderness.

4. एदोम कहता है, हमारा देश उजड़ गया है, परन्तु हम खण्डहरों को फिरकर बसाएंगे; सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, यदि वे बनाए भी, परन्तु मैं ढा दूंगा; उनका नाम दुष्ट जाति पड़ेगा, और वे ऐसे लोग कहलाएंगे जि पर यहोवा सदैव क्रोधित रहे।

4. Whereas Edom, may say, We are laid waste, but we will again build the desolate places, Thus, saith Yahweh of hosts, They, may build, but, I, will pull down, and men shall call them, The Boundary of Lawlessness, and, The people with whom Yahweh hath indignation unto times age-abiding;

5. तुम्हारी आंखे इसे देखेंगी, और तुम कहोगे, यहोवा का प्रताप इस्राएल के सिवाने की परली ओर भी बढ़ता जाए।।

5. And, your own eyes, shall see, and, ye yourselves, shall say, Yahweh, be magnified, beyond the boundary of Israel.

6. पुत्रा पिता का, और दास स्वामी का आदर करता है। यदि मैं पिता हूं, तो मेरा आदर मानना कहां है? और यदि मैं स्वामी हूं, तो मेरा भय मानना कहां? सेनाओं का यहोवा, तुम याजकों से भी जो मेरे नाम का अपमान करते हो यही बात पूछता है। परन्तु तुम पूछते हो, हम ने किस बात में तेरे नाम का अपमान किया है? तुम मेरी वेदी पर अशुद्ध भोजन चढ़ाते हो।

6. A son, will honour a father, and, a servant, his lord, If then, a father, I am, where is mine honour? And, if, a lord, I am, where is my reverence? saith Yahweh of hosts to you, ye priests, who despise my Name, and yet say, Wherein have we despised thy Name?

7. तौभी तुम पूछते हो कि हम किस बात में तुझे अशुद्ध ठहराते हैं? इस बात में भी, कि तुम कहते हो, यहोवा की मेज तुच्छ है।

7. In bringing near upon mine altar, polluted food, while yet ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? Because ye say, As for the table of Yahweh, a thing to be despised, it is;

8. जब तुम अन्धे पशु को बलि करने के लिये समीप ले आते हो तो क्या यह बुरा नहीं? और जब तुम लंगड़े वा रोगी पशु को ले आते हो, तो क्या यह बुरा नहीं? अपने हाकिम के पास ऐसी भेंट ले आओ; क्या वह तुम से प्रसन्न होगा वा तुम पर अनुग्रह करेगा? सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।।

8. And when ye bring near the blind as a sacrifice, saying No harm! or when ye bring near the lame or the sick saying No harm! Offer it, I pray you, unto thy pasha, Will he accept thee? or lift up thy countenance? saith Yahweh of hosts.

9. और अब मैं तुम से कहता हूं, ईश्वर से प्रार्थना करो कि वह हम लोगों पर अनुग्रह करे। यह तुम्हारे हाथ से हुआ है; तब कया तुम समझते हो कि परमेश्वर तुम में से किसी का पक्ष करेगा? सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।

9. Now, therefore, pacify, I pray you, the face of GOD, that he may grant us favour, at your hands, hath this come to pass, Will he lift up the countenances, of any of you? saith Yahweh of hosts.

10. भला होता कि तुम में से कोई मन्दिर के किवाड़ों को बन्द करता कि तुम मेरी वेदी पर व्यर्थ आग जलाने न पाते! सेनाओं के यहोवा का यह वचन है, मैं तुम से कदापि प्रसन्न नहीं हूं, और न तुम्हारे हाथ से भेंट ग्रहण करूंगा।

10. Who is there, even among you, that will shut the doors, so as not to set light to mine altar, for nothing? I can take no pleasure in you, saith Yahweh of hosts, and, your present, can I not accept at your hand.

11. क्योंकि उदयाचल से लेकर अस्ताचल तक अन्यजातियों में मेरा नाम महान है, और हर कहीं मेरे नाम पर धूप और शुद्ध भेंट चढ़ाई जाती है; क्योंकि अन्यजातियों में मेरा नाम महान है, सेनाओं का यही वचन है।

11. For, from the rising of the sun, even unto the going in thereof, great is my Name among the nations, and, in every place, incense, is offered to my Name, and a pure present, for great is my Name among the nations, saith Yahweh of hosts.

12. परन्तु तुम लोग उसको यह कहकर अपवित्रा ठहराते हो कि यहोवा की मेज अशुद्ध है, और जो भोजनवस्तु उस पर से मिलती है वह भी तुच्छ है।
1 कुरिन्थियों 10:21

12. But ye are profaning me, in that ye say, As for the table of the Lord, polluted it is, and, as for his produce, contemptible is his food.

13. फिर तुम यह भी कहते हो, कि यह कैसा बड़ा उपद्रव है! सेनाओं के यहोवा का यह वचन है। तुम ने उस भोजनवस्तु के प्रति नाक भौं सिकोड़ी, और अत्याचार से प्राप्त किए हुए और लंगड़े और रोगी पशु की भेंट ले आते हो! क्या मैं ऐसी भेंट तुम्हारे हाथ से ग्रहण करूं? यहोवा का यही वचन है।

13. And ye have said, Lo! what a weariness! And ye have snuffed at Me, saith Yahweh of hosts, and have brought in the torn and the lame and the sick, thus have ye brought the present, Could I accept it at your hand? saith Yahweh.

14. जिस छली के झुण्ड में नरपशु हो परन्तु वह मन्नत मानकर परमेश्वर को बर्जा हुआ पशु चढ़ाए, वह शापित है; मैं तो महाराजा हूं, और मेरा नाम अन्यजातियों में भययोग्य है, सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।।

14. But accursed is he that defraudeth, who, when there is in his flock a male, yet voweth and sacrificeth a corrupt thing to the Lord, for, a great king, am I, saith Yahweh of hosts, and, my Name, is revered among the nations.
