1. हे बाशान की गायो, यह वचन सुनो, तुम जो सामरिया पर्वत पर हो, जो कंगालों पर अन्धेर करतीं, और दरिद्रों को कुचल डालती हो, और अपने अपने पति से कहती हो कि ला, दे हम पीएं!

1. 'Listen, you [[lovely]] cows of Bashan, who live on Mount Shomron, who oppress the poor and grind down the needy, who say to their husbands, 'Bring something to drink':

2. परमेश्वर यहोवा अपनी पवित्राता की शपथ खाकर कहता है, देखो, तुम पर ऐसे दिन आनेवाले हैं, कि तुम कटियाओं से, और तुम्हारी सन्तान मछली की बन्सियों से खींच लिए जाएंगे।

2. [Adonai ELOHIM] has sworn by his holiness that your time is surely coming. 'You will be dragged away with hooks, the last of you with fishhooks.

3. और तुम बाड़े के नाकों से होकर सीधी निकल जाओगी और हर्म्मोन में डाली जाआगी, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।।

3. You will leave through breaks in the wall, each woman right behind the next, and be sent off to Harmonah,' says ADONAI.

4. बेतेल में आकर अपराध करो, और गिल्गाल में आकर बहुत से अपराध करो; अपने चढ़ावे भोर को, और अपने दशमांश हर तीसरे दिन ले आया करो;

4. 'Come to Beit-El, and commit crimes; to Gilgal, and commit more crimes! Bring your sacrifices in the morning and your tithes after three days;

5. धन्यवादबलि खमीर मिलाकर चढ़ाओ, और अपने स्वेच्छाबलियों की चर्चा चलाकर उनका प्रचार करो; क्योंकि हे इस्राएलियो, ऐसा करना तुमको भवता है, परमेश्वर यहोवा की यही वाणी है।।

5. burn leavened bread as a thank offering; brag in public about your voluntary offerings; because that's what you love to do, Isra'el!' says [Adonai ELOHIM.]

6. मैं ने तुम्हारे सब नगरों में दांत की सफाई करा दी, और तुम्हारे सब स्थानों में रोटी की घटी की है, तौभी तुम मेरी ओर फिरकर न आए, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।।

6. 'I made your teeth clean of food in all your cities, left you nothing to eat in all your villages; still you haven't returned to me,' says ADONAI.

7. और जब कटनी के तीन महीने रह गए, तब मैं ने तुम्हारे लिये वर्षा न की; मैं ने एक नगर में जल बरसाकर दूसरे में न बरसाया; एक खेत में जल बरसा, और दूसरा खेत जिस में न बरसा; वह सूख गया।

7. 'I withheld the rain from you three months before the harvest. I made it rain on one city and not on another- one field had rain, while another with no rain dried up;

8. इसलिये दो तीन नगरों के लोग पानी पीने को मारे मारे फिरते हुए एक ही नगर में आए, परन्तु तृप्त न हुए; तौभी तुम मेरी ओर न फिरे, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।।

8. from two or three cities they would stagger to one city for water to drink, but there wasn't enough; still you haven't returned to me,' says ADONAI.

9. मैं ने तुमको लूह और गेरूई से मारा है; और जब तुम्हारी वाटिकाएं और दाख की बारियां, और अंजीर और जलपाई के वृक्ष बहुत हो गए, तब टिडि्डयां उन्हें खा गईं; तौभी तुम मेरी ओर फिरकर न आए, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।।

9. I struck your crops with hot winds and blight, your many gardens and vineyards; the cutter-worms devoured your fig and olive trees; still you haven't returned to me,' says ADONAI.

10. मैं ने तुम्हारे बीच में मि देश की सी मरी फैलाई; मैं ने तुम्हारे घाड़ों को छिनवा कर तुम्हारे जवानों को तलवार से घात करा दिया; और तुम्हारी छावनी की दुर्गन्ध तुम्हारे पास पहुंचाई; तौभी तुम मेरी ओर फिरकर न आए, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।।

10. I sent a plague on you like that of Egypt, put your young men to death with the sword; let your horses be captured; and filled your nostrils with the stench of your camps; still you haven't returned to me,' says ADONAI.

11. मैं ने तुम में से कई एक को ऐसा उलट दिया, जैसे परमेश्वर ने सदोम और अमोरा को उलट दिया था, और तुम आग से निकाली हुई लुकटी के समान ठहरे; तौभी तुम मेरी ओर फिरकर न आए, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।।

11. 'I overthrew some of you, as when God overthrew S'dom and 'Amora; you were like a burning stick snatched from the fire; still you haven't returned to me,' says ADONAI.

12. इस कारण, हे इस्राएल, मैं तुझ से ऐसा ही करूंगा, और इसलिये कि मैं तुझ में यह काम करने पर हूं, हे इस्राएल, अपने परमेश्वर के साम्हने आने के लिये तैयार हो जा।।

12. 'This is why I will deal with you in this way, Isra'el; and because I will deal with you in this way, prepare to meet your God, Isra'el-

13. देख, पहाड़ों का बनानेवाला और पवन का सिरजनेवाला, और मनुष्य को उसके मन का विचार बतानेवाला और भोर को अन्धकार करनेवाला, और जो पृथ्वी के ऊंचे स्थानों पर चलनेवाला है, उसी का नाम सेनाओं का परमेश्वर यहोवा है।।

13. him who forms mountains and creates wind, who declares to humankind his thoughts, who turns the morning to darkness and strides on the heights of the earth- [Adonai ELOHEI]-[Tzva'ot] is his name.'
