1. जब यिर्मयाह यह भविष्यद्वाणी कर रहा था, तब इम्मेर का पुत्रा पशहूर ने जो याजक और यहोवा के भवन का प्रधान रखवाला था, वह सब सुना।

1. The priest Pashur son of Immer was the senior priest in GOD's Temple. He heard Jeremiah preach this sermon.

2. सो पशहूर ने यिर्मयाह भविष्यद्वक्ता को मारा और उसे उस काठ में डाल दिया जो यहोवा के भवन के ऊपर बिन्यामीन के फाटक के पास है।
इब्रानियों 11:36

2. He whipped Jeremiah the prophet and put him in the stocks at the Upper Benjamin Gate of GOD's Temple.

3. बिहान को जब पशहूर ने यिर्मयाह को काठ में से निकलवाया, तब यिर्मयाह ने उस से कहा, यहोवा ने तेरा नाम पशहूर नहीं मागोर्मिस्साबीब रखा है।

3. The next day Pashur came and let him go. Jeremiah told him, 'GOD has a new name for you: not Pashur but Danger-Everywhere,

4. क्योंकि यहोवा ने यों कहा है, देख, मैं तुझे तेरे लिये और तेरे सब मित्रों के लिये भी भय का कारण ठहराऊंगा। वे अपने शत्रुओं की तलवार से तेरे देखते ही वध किए जाएंगे। और मैं सब यहूदियों को बाबुल के राजा के वश में कर दूंगा; वह उनको बंधुआ करके बाबुल में ले जाएगा, और तलवार से मार डालेगा।

4. because GOD says, 'You're a danger to yourself and everyone around you. All your friends are going to get killed in battle while you stand there and watch. What's more, I'm turning all of Judah over to the king of Babylon to do whatever he likes with them--haul them off into exile, kill them at whim.

5. फिर मैं इस नगर के सारे धन को और इस में की कमाई और सब अनमोल वस्तुओं को और यहूदा के राजाओं का जितना रखा हुआ धन है, उस सब को उनके शत्रुओं के वश में कर दूंगा; और वे उसको लूटकर अपना कर लेंगे और बाबुल में ले जाएंगे।

5. Everything worth anything in this city, property and possessions along with everything in the royal treasury--I'm handing it all over to the enemy. They'll rummage through it and take what they want back to Babylon.

6. और, हे पशहूर, तू उन सब समेत जो तेरे घर में रहते हैं बंधुआई में चला जाएगा; अपने उन मित्रों समेत जिन से तू ने झूठी भविष्यद्वाणी की, तू बाबुल में जाएगा और वहीं मरेगा, और वहीं तुझे और उन्हें भी मिट्टी दी जाएगी।

6. ''And you, Pashur, you and everyone in your family will be taken prisoner into exile--that's right, exile in Babylon. You'll die and be buried there, you and all your cronies to whom you preached your lies.''

7. हे यहोवा, तू ने मुझे धोखा दिया, और मैं ने धोखा खाया; तू मुझ से बलवन्त है, इस कारण तू मुझ पर प्रबल हो गया। दिन भर मेरी हंसी होती है; सब कोई मुझ से ठट्ठा करते हैं।

7. You pushed me into this, GOD, and I let you do it. You were too much for me. And now I'm a public joke. They all poke fun at me.

8. क्योंकि जब मैं बातें करता हूँ, तब मैं जोर से पुकार पुकारकर ललकारता हूँ कि उपद्रव और उत्पात हुआ, हां उत्पात ! क्योंकि यहोवा का वचन दिन भर मेरे लिये निन्दा और ठट्ठा का कारण होता रहता है।

8. Every time I open my mouth I'm shouting, 'Murder!' or 'Rape!' And all I get for my GOD-warnings are insults and contempt.

9. यदि मैं कहूं, मैं उसकी चर्चा न करूंगा न उसके नाम से बोलूंगा, तो मेरे हृदय की ऐसी दशा होगी मानो मेरी हडि्डयों में धधकती हुई आग हो, और मैं अपने को रोकते रोकते थक गया पर मुझ से रहा नहीं जाता।

9. But if I say, 'Forget it! No more GOD-Messages from me!' The words are fire in my belly, a burning in my bones. I'm worn out trying to hold it in. I can't do it any longer!

10. मैं ने बहुतों के मुंह से अपना अपवाद सुना है। चारों ओर भय ही भय है ! मेरी जान पहचान के सब जो मेरे ठोकर खाने की बाट जोहते हैं, वे कहते हैं, उसके दोष बताओ, तब हम उनकी चर्चा फैला देंगे। कदाचित वह धोखा खाए, तो हम उस पर प्रबल होकर, उस से बदला लेंगे।

10. Then I hear whispering behind my back: 'There goes old 'Danger-Everywhere.' Shut him up! Report him!' Old friends watch, hoping I'll fall flat on my face: 'One misstep and we'll have him. We'll get rid of him for good!'

11. परन्तु यहोवा मेरे साथ है, वह भयंकर वीर के समान है; इस कारण मेरे सतानेवाले प्रबल न होंगे, वे ठोकर खाकर गिरेंगे। वे बुध्दि से काम नहीं करते, इसलिये उन्हें बहुत लज्जित होना पड़ेगा। उनका अपमान सदैव बना रहेगा और कभी भूला न जाएगा।

11. But GOD, a most fierce warrior, is at my side. Those who are after me will be sent sprawling-- Slapstick buffoons falling all over themselves, a spectacle of humiliation no one will ever forget.

12. हे सेनाओं के यहोवा, हे धर्मियों के परखनेवाले और हृदय और मन के ज्ञाता, जो बदला तू उन से लेगा, उसे मैं देखूं, क्योंकि मैं ने अपना मुक़ मा तेरे ऊपर छोड़ दिया है।

12. Oh, GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies, no one fools you. You see through everyone, everything. I want to see you pay them back for what they've done. I rest my case with you.

13. यहोवा के लिये गाओ; यहोवा की स्तुति करो ! क्योंकि वह दरिद्र जन के प्राण को कुकर्मियों के हाथ से बचाता है।

13. Sing to GOD! All praise to GOD! He saves the weak from the grip of the wicked.

14. स्रापित हो वह दिन जिस में मैं उत्पन्न हुआ ! जिस दिन मेरी माता ने मुझ को जन्म दिया वह धन्य न हो !

14. Curse the day I was born! The day my mother bore me-- a curse on it, I say!

15. स्रापित हो वह जन जिस ने मेरे पिता को यह समाचार देकर उसको बहुत आनन्दित किया कि तेरे लड़का उत्पन्न हुआ है।

15. And curse the man who delivered the news to my father: 'You've got a new baby--a boy baby!' (How happy it made him.)

16. उस जन की दशा उन नगरों की सी हो जिन्हें यहोवा ने बिन दया ढा दिया; उसे सवेरे तो चिल्लाहट और दोपहर को युठ्ठ की ललकार सुनाई दिया करे,

16. Let that birth notice be blacked out, deleted from the records, And the man who brought it haunted to his death with the bad news he brought.

17. क्योंकि उस ने मुझे गर्भ ही में न मार डाला कि मेरी माता का गर्भाशय ही मेरी क़ब्र होती, और मैं उसी में सदा पड़ा रहता।

17. He should have killed me before I was born, with that womb as my tomb, My mother pregnant for the rest of her life with a baby dead in her womb.

18. मैं क्यों उत्पात और शोक भोगने के लिये जन्मा और कि अपने जीवन में परिश्रम और दुेचा देखूं, और उपने दिन नामधराई में व्यतीत करूं?

18. Why, oh why, did I ever leave that womb? Life's been nothing but trouble and tears, and what's coming is more of the same.
