1. दाऊद का पुत्रा सुलैमान राज्य में स्थिर हो गया, और उसका परमेश्वर यहोवा उसके संग रहा और उसको बहुत ही बढ़ाया।

1. Then Salomon the sonne of Dauid was confirmed in his kingdome: and the Lord his God was with him, and magnified him highly.

2. और सुलैमान ने सारे इस्राएल से, अर्थात् सहस्रपतियों, शतपतियों, न्यायियों और इस्राएल के सब रईसों से जो पितरों के घरानों के मुख्य मुख्य पुरूष थे, बातें कीं।

2. And Salomon spake vnto all Israel, to the captaines of thousandes, and of hundreths, and to the iudges, and to all the gouernours in all Israel, euen the chiefe fathers.

3. और सुलैमान पूरी मण्डली समेत गिबोन के ऊंचे स्थान पर गया, क्योंकि परमेश्वर का मिलापवाला तम्बू, जिसे यहोवा के दास मूसा ने जंगल में बनाया था, वह वहीं पर था।

3. So Salomon and all the Congregation with him went to the hie place that was at Gibeon: for there was the Tabernacle of the Congregation of God which Moses the seruant of the Lord had made in the wildernesse.

4. परन्तु परमेश्वर के सन्दूक को दाऊद किर्यत्यारीम से उस स्थान पर ले आया था जिसे उस ने उसके लिये तैयार किया था, उस ने तो उसके लिये यरूशलेम में एक तम्बू खड़ा कराया था।

4. But the Arke of God had Dauid brought vp from Kiriath-iearim, when Dauid had made preparation for it: for he had pitched a tent for it in Ierusalem.

5. और पीतल की जो वेदी ऊरी के पुत्रा बसलेल ने, जो हूर का पोता था, बनाई थी, वह गिबोन में यहोवा के निवास के साम्हने थी। इसलिये सुलैमान मण्डली समेत उसके पास गया।

5. Moreouer the brasen altar that Bezaleel the sonne of Vri, the sonne of Hur had made, did hee set before the Tabernacle of the Lord: and Salomon and the Congregation sought it.

6. और सुलैमान ने वहीं उस पीतल की वेदी के पास जाकर, जो यहोवा के साम्हने मिलापवाले तम्बू के पास थी, उस पर एक हजार होमबलि चड़ाए।

6. And Salomon offred there before the Lord vpon the brasen altar that was in the Tabernacle of the Congregation: euen a thousand burnt offrings offred he vpon it.

7. उसी दिन रात को परमेश्वर ने सुलैमान को दर्शन देकर उस से कहा, जो कुछ तू चाहे कि मैं तुझे दूं, वह मांग।

7. The same night did God appeare vnto Salomon, and sayde vnto him, Aske what I shall giue thee.

8. सुलैमान ने परमेश्वर से कहा, तू मेरे पिता दाऊद पर बड़ी करूणा करता रहा और मुझ को उसके स्थान पर राजा बनाया है।

8. And Salomon sayde vnto God, Thou hast shewed great mercy vnto Dauid my father and hast made me to reigne in his stead.

9. अब हे यहोवा परमेश्वर ! जो बचन तू ने मेरे पिता दाऊद को दिया था, वह पूरा हो; तू ने तो मुझे ऐसी प्रजा का राजा बनाया है जो भूमि की धूलि के किनकों के समान बहुत है।

9. Nowe therefore, O Lord God, let thy promise vnto Dauid my father be true: for thou hast made mee King ouer a great people, like to the dust of the earth.

10. अब मुझे ऐसी बुध्दि और ज्ञान दे, कि मैं इस प्रजा के साम्हने अन्दर- बाहर आना- जाना कर सकूं, क्योंकि कौन ऐसा है कि तेरी इतनी बड़ी प्रजा का न्याय कर सके?

10. Giue me now wisdome and knowledge, that I may go out and go in before this people: for who can iudge this thy great people?

11. परमेश्वर ने सुलैमान से कहा, तेरी जो ऐसी ही मनसा हुई, अर्थात तू ने न तो धन सम्पत्ति मांगी है, न ऐश्वर्य्और न अपने बैरियों का प्राण और न अपनी दीर्घायु मांगी, केवल बुध्दि और ज्ञान का वर मांगा है, जिस से तू मेरी प्रजा का जिसके ऊपर मैं ने तुझे राजा नियुक्त किया है, न्याय कर सके,

11. And God sayde to Salomon, Because this was in thine heart, and thou hast not asked riches, treasures nor honour, nor the liues of thine enemies, neither yet hast asked long life, but hast asked for thee wisdome and knowledge that thou mightest iudge my people, ouer whome I haue made thee King,

12. इस कारण बुध्दि और ज्ञान तुझे दिया जाता है। और मैं तुझे इतना धन सम्पत्ति और ऐश्वर्य दूंगा, जितना न तो तुझ से पहिले किसी राजा को, मिला और न तेरे बाद किसी राजा को मिलेगा।

12. Wisdome and knowledge is granted vnto thee, and I will giue thee riches and treasures and honour, so that there hath not bene the like among the Kings which were before thee, neither after thee shall there be the like.

13. तब सुलैमान गिबोन के ऊंचे स्थान से, अर्थात् मिलापवाले तम्बू के साम्हने से यरूशलेम को आया और वहां इस्राएल पर राज्य करने लगा।

13. Then Salomon came from the hie place, that was at Gibeon, to Ierusalem from before the Tabernacle of the Congregation, and reigned ouer Israel.

14. फिर सुलैमान ने रथ और सवार इकट्ठे कर लिये; और उसके चौदह सौ रथ और बारह हजार सवार थे, और उनको उस ने रथों के नगरों में, और यरूशलेम में राजा के पास ठहरा रखा।

14. And Salomon gathered the charets and horesemen: and he had a thousand and foure hundreth charets, and twelue thousande horsemen, whome he placed in the charet cities, and with the King at Ierusalem.

15. और राजा ने ऐसा किया, कि यरूशलेम में सोने- चान्दी का मूल्य बहुतायत के कारण पत्थरों का सा, और देवदारों का मूल्य नीचे के देश के गूलरों का सा बना दिया।

15. And the King gaue siluer and gold at Ierusalem as stones, and gaue cedar trees as the wilde figge trees, that are abundantly in the playne.

16. और जो घोड़े सुलैमान रखता था, वे मिस्र से आते थे, और राजा के रयापारी उन्हें झुणड के झुणड ठहराए हुए दाम पर लिया करते थे।

16. Also Salomon had horses brought out of Egypt and fine linen: the Kings marchants receiued the fine linen for a price.

17. एक रथ तो छे सौ शेकेल चान्दी पर, और एक घोड़ा डेढ़ सौ शेकेल पर मिस्र से आता था; और इसी दाम पर वे हित्तियों के सब राजाओं और अराम के राजाओं के लिये उन्हीं के द्वारा लाया करते थे।

17. They came vp also and brought out of Egypt some charet, worth sixe hundreth shekels of siluer, that is an horse for an hundreth and fiftie: and thus they brought horses to all the Kings of the Hittites, and to the Kings of Aram by their meanes.
