1. फिर दाऊद और सेनापतियों ने आसाप, हेमान और यदूतून के कितने पुत्रों को सेवकाई के लिये अलग किया कि वे वीणा, सारंगी और झांझ बजा बजाकर नबूवत करें। और इस सेवकाई के काम करनेवाले मनुष्यों की गिनती यह थी :

1. David and the leaders of the liturgical cult set apart for service the descendants of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, as singers of inspired songs to the accompaniment of lyres and harps and cymbals.This is the list of those who performed this service:

2. अर्थात् आसाप के पुत्रों में से तो जक्कूर, योसेप, नतन्याह और अशरेला, आसाप के ये पुत्रा आसाप ही की आज्ञा में थे, जो राजा की आज्ञा के अनुसार नबूवत करता था।

2. Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah, sons of Asaph, under the direction of Asaph, who sang inspired songs under the guidance of the king.

3. फिर यदूतून के पुत्रों में से गदल्याह, सरीयशायाह, हसब्याह, मत्तित्याह, ये ही छे अपने पिता यदूतून की आज्ञा में होकर जो यहोवा का धन्यवाद और स्तुति कर करके नबूवत करता था, वीणा बजाते थे।

3. Of Jeduthun, these sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah; six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who sang inspired songs to the accompaniment of a lyre, to give thanks and praise to the LORD.

4. और हेमान के पुत्रों में से, मुक्किरयाह, मत्तन्याह, लज्जीएल, शबूएल, यरीमोत, हनन्याह, हनानी, एलीआता, गि लती, रोममतीएजेर, योशबकाशा, मल्लोती, होतीर और महजीओत।

4. Of Heman, these sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael, and Jerimoth; Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.

5. परमेश्वर की प्रतिज्ञानुकूल जो उसका नाम बढ़ाने की थी, ये सब हेमान के पुत्रा थे जो राजा का दश था; क्योंकि परमेश्वर ने हेमान को चौदह बेटे और तीन बेटियां दीं थीं।

5. All these were the sons of Heman, the king's seer in divine matters; to enhance his prestige, God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.

6. ये सब यहोवा के भवन में गाने के लिये अपने अपने पिता के अधीन रहकर, परमेश्वर के भवन, की सेवकाई में झांझ, सारंगी और वीणा बजाते थे। और आसाप, यदूतून और हेमान राजा के अधीन रहते थे।

6. All these, whether of Asaph, Jeduthun, or Heman, were under their fathers' direction in the singing in the house of the LORD to the accompaniment of cymbals, harps and lyres, serving in the house of God, under the guidance of the king.

7. इन सभों की गिनती भाइयों समेत जो यहोवा के गीत सीखे हुए और सब प्रकार से निपुण थे, दो सौ अठासी थी।

7. Their number, together with that of their brethren who were trained in singing to the LORD, all of them skilled men, was two hundred and eighty-eight.

8. और उन्हों ने क्या बड़ा, क्या छोटा, क्या गुरू, क्या चेला, अपनी अपनी बारी के लिये चिट्ठी डाली।

8. They cast lots for their functions equally, young and old, master and pupil alike.

9. और पहिली चिट्ठी आसाप के बेटों में से योसेप के नाम पर निकली, दूसरी गदल्याह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

9. The first lot fell to Asaph, the family of Joseph; he and his sons and his brethren were twelve. Gedaliah was the second; he and his brethren and his sons were twelve.

10. तीसरी जक्कूर के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

10. The third was Zaccur, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

11. चौथी यिस्री के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

11. The fourth fell to Izri, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

12. पांचवीं नतन्याह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

12. The fifth was Nethaniah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

13. छठीं बुक्किरयाह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

13. The sixth was Bukkiah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

14. सातवीं यसरेला के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

14. The seventh was Jesarelah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

15. आठवीं यशायाह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

15. The eighth was Jeshaiah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

16. नौवीं मतन्याह के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई समेत बारह थे।

16. The ninth was Mattaniah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

17. दसवीं शिमी के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

17. The tenth was Shimei, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

18. ग्यारहवीं अजरेल के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

18. The eleventh was Uzziel, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

19. बारहवीं हशब्याह के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

19. The twelfth fell to Hashabiah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

20. The thirteenth was Shubael, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

21. तेरहवी शूबाएल के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

21. The fourteenth was Mattithiah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

22. चौदहवीं मत्तिरयाह के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

22. The fifteenth fell to Jeremoth, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

23. पन्द्रहवीं यरेमोत के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

23. The sixteenth fell to Hananiah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

24. सोलहवीं हनन्याह के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

24. The seventeenth fell to Joshbekashah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

25. सत्राहवीं योशबकाशा के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

25. The eighteenth fell to Hanani, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

26. अठारहवीं हरानी के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

26. The nineteenth fell to Mallothi, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

27. उन्नीसवीं मल्लोती के नाम पर निकली, जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

27. The twentieth fell to Eliathah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

28. बीसवीं इलिरयाता के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

28. The twenty-first fell to Hothir, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

29. इक्कीसवीं होतीर के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

29. The twenty-second fell to Giddalti, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

30. बाईसवीं गि लती के नाम पर तिकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।

30. The twenty-third fell to Mahazioth, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.

31. तेईसवीं महजीओत के नाम पर निकली जिसके पुत्रा और भाई उस समेत बारह थे।
