1. Uzziahn son of Amaziah became king of Judah during Jeroboam's twenty-seventh year as king of Israel.

2. जब वह राज्य करने लगा, तब सोलह वर्ष का था, और यरूशलेम में बावन वर्ष राज्य करता रहा। उसकी माता का नाम यकोल्याह था, जो यरूशलेम की थी।

2. Uzziah was sixteen years old when he became king, and he ruled fifty-two years in Jerusalem. His mother was named Jecoliah, and she was from Jerusalem.

3. जैसे उसका पिता अमस्याह किया करता था जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में ठीक था, वैसे ही वह भी करता था।

3. He did what the Lord said was right, just as his father Amaziah had done.

4. तौभी ऊंचे स्थान गिराए न गए; प्रजा के लोग उस समय भी उन पर बलि चढ़ाते, और धूप जलाते रहे।

4. But the places where gods were worshiped were not removed, so the people still made sacrifices and burned incense there.

5. और यहोवा ने उस राजा को ऐसा मारा, कि वह मरने के दिन तक कोढ़ी रहा, और अलग एक घर में रहता था। और योताम नाम राजपुत्रा उसके घराने के काम पर अधिकारी होकर देश के लोगों का न्याय करता था।

5. The Lord struck Uzziah with a skin disease, which he had until the day he died. So he had to live in a separate house. Jotham, the king's son, was in charge of the palace, and he governed the people of the land.

8. यहूदा के राजा अजर्याह के अड़तीसवें वर्ष में यारोबाम का पुत्रा जकर्याह इस्राएल पर शोमरोन में राज्य करने लगा, और छे महीने राज्य किया।

8. Zechariah son of Jeroboam was king over Israel in Samaria. He ruled for six months during Uzziah'sn thirty-eighth year as king of Judah.

10. और याबेश के पुत्रा शल्लूम ने उस से राजद्रोह की गोष्ठी करके उसको प्रजा के साम्हने मारा, और उसका घात करके उसके स्थान पर राजा हुआ।

10. Shallum son of Jabesh made plans against Zechariah and killed him in front of the people. Then Shallum became king in his place.

13. यहूदा के राजा उज्जिरयाह के उनतालीसवें वर्ष में याबेश का पुत्रा शल्लूम राज्य करने लगा, और महीने भर शोमरोन में राज्य करता रहा।

13. Shallum son of Jabesh became king during Uzziah's thirty-ninth year as king of Judah. Shallum ruled for a month in Samaria.

14. क्योंकि गादी के पुत्रा मनहेम ने, तिर्सा से शोमरोन को जाकर याबेश के पुत्रा शल्लूम को वहीं मारा, और उसे घात करके उसके स्थान पर राजा हुआ।

14. Then Menahem son of Gadi came up from Tirzah to Samaria and attacked Shallum son of Jabesh in Samaria. He killed him and became king in Shallum's place.

16. Menahem started out from Tirzah and attacked Tiphsah, destroying the city and the area nearby. This was because the people had refused to open the city gate for him. He defeated them and ripped open all their pregnant women.

17. यहूदा के राजा अजर्याह के उनतालीसवें वर्ष में गादी का पुत्रा मनहेम इस्राएल पर राज्य करने लगा, और दस वर्ष शोमरोन में राज्य करता रहा।

17. Menahem son of Gadi became king over Israel during Uzziah's thirty-ninth year as king of Judah. Menahem ruled ten years in Samaria,

18. उस ने वह किया, जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा था, अर्थात् नबात के पुत्रा यारोबाम जिस ने इस्राएल से पाप कराया था, उसके पापों के अनुसार वह करता रहा, और उन से वह जीवन भर अलग न हुआ।

18. and he did what the Lord said was wrong. Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to sin, and all the time Menahem was king, he did not stop doing the same sins.

19. अश्शूर के राजा पूल ने देश पर चढ़ाई की, और मनहेम ने उसको हजार किक्कार चान्दी इस इच्छा से दी, कि वह उसका यहायक होकर राज्य को उसके हाथ में स्थिर रखे।

19. Pul king of Assyria came to attack the land. Menahem gave him about seventy-four thousand pounds of silver so Pul would support him and make his hold on the kingdom stronger.

20. यह चान्दी अश्शूर के राजा को देने के लिये मनहेम ने बड़े बड़े धनवान इस्राएलियों से ले ली, एक एक पुरूष को पचास पचास शेकेल चान्दी देनी पड़ी; तब अश्शूर का राजा देश को छोड़कर लौट गया।

20. Menahem taxed Israel to pay about one and one-fourth pounds of silver to each soldier of the king of Assyria. So the king left and did not stay in the land.

23. Pekahiah son of Menahem became king over Israel in Samaria during Uzziah'sn fiftieth year as king of Judah. Pekahiah ruled two years,

24. उस ने वह किया जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा था, अर्थात् नबात के पुत्रा यारोबाम जिस ने इस्राएल से पाप रिाया था, उसके पापों के अनुसार वह करता रहा, और उन से वह अलग न हुआ।

24. and he did what the Lord said was wrong. Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to sin, and Pekahiah did not stop doing the same sins.

25. Pekah son of Remaliah was one of Pekahiah's captains, and he made plans against Pekahiah. He took fifty men of Gilead with him and killed Pekahiah, as well as Argob and Arieh, in the palace at Samaria. Then Pekah became king in Pekahiah's place.

28. उस ने वह किया, जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा था, अर्थात् नबात के पुत्रा यारोबाम, जिस ने इस्राऐल से पाप कराया था, उसके पापों के अनुसार वह करता रहा, और उन से वह अलग न हुआ।

28. and he did what the Lord said was wrong. Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to sin, and Pekah did not stop doing the same sins.

29. Tiglath-Pilesern was king of Assyria. He attacked while Pekah was king of Israel, capturing the cities of Ijon, Abel Beth Maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, and Hazor. He also captured Gilead and Galilee and all the land of Naphtali and carried the people away to Assyria.

30. Then Hoshea son of Elah made plans against Pekah son of Remaliah and attacked and killed him. Then Hoshea became king in Pekah's place during the twentieth year Jotham son of Uzziah was king.

33. जब वह राज्य करने लगा, तब पचीस वर्ष का था, और यरूशलेम में सोलह वर्ष तक राज्य करता रहा। और उसकी पाता का नाम यरूशा था जो सादोक की बेटी थी।

33. Jotham was twenty-five years old when he became king, and he ruled sixteen years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Jerusha daughter of Zadok.

34. उस ने वह किया जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में ठीक था, अर्थात् जैसा उसके पिता उजिरयाह ने किया था, ठीक वैसा ही उस ने भी किया।

34. Jotham did what the Lord said was right, just as his father Uzziah had done.

35. तौभी ऊंचे स्थान गिराए न गए, प्रजा के लोग उन पर उस समय भी बलि चढाते और धूम जलाते रहे। यहोवा के भवन के ऊंचे फाटक को इसी ने बनाया था।

35. But the places where gods were worshiped were not removed, and the people still made sacrifices and burned incense there. Jotham rebuilt the Upper Gate of the Temple of the Lord.

36. योताम के और सब काम जो उस ने किए, वे क्या यहूदा के राजाओं के इतिहास की पुस्तक में नहीं लिखे हैं?

37. At that time the Lord began to send Rezin king of Aram and Pekah son of Remaliah against Judah.

38. निदान योताम अपने पुरखाओं के संग सो गया और अपने मुलपुरूष दाऊद के नगर में अपने पुरखाओं के बीच उसको मिट्टी दी गई, और उसका पुत्रा आहाज उसके स्थान पर राज्य करने लगा।

38. Jotham died and was buried with his ancestors in Jerusalem, the city of David, his ancestor. Then Jotham's son Ahaz became king in his place.
