1. शमूएल ने शाऊल से कहा, यहोवा ने अपनी प्रजा इस्राएल पर राज्य करने के लिये तेरा अभिषेक करने को मुझे भेजा था; इसलिये अब यहोवा की बातें सुन ले।

1. Afterward Samuel said vnto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee King ouer his people, ouer Israel: nowe therefore obey the voyce of the wordes of the Lord.

2. सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, कि मुझे चेत आता है कि अमालेकियों ने इस्राएलियों से क्या किया; और जब इस्राएली मि से आ रहे थे, तब उन्हों ने मार्ग में उनका साम्हना किया।

2. Thus saith the Lord of hostes, I remember what Amalek did to Israel, howe they laide waite for the in ye way, as they came vp from Egypt.

3. इसलिये अब तू जाकर अमालेकियों को मार, और जो कुछ उनका है उसे बिना कोमलता किए सत्यानाश कर; क्या पुरूष, क्या स्त्री, क्या बच्चा, क्या दूधपिउवा, क्या गाय- बैल, क्या भेड़- बकरी, क्या ऊंट, क्या गदहा, सब को मार डाल।।

3. Nowe therefore goe, and sinite Amalek, and destroy ye all that perteyneth vnto them, and haue no compassion on them, but slay both man and woman, both infant and suckling, both oxe, and sheepe, both camell, and asse.

4. तब शाऊल ने लोगों को बुलाकर इकट्ठा किया, और उन्हें तलाईम में गिना, और वे दो लाख प्यादे, और दस हजार यहूदी पुरूष भी थे।

4. And Saul assembled ye people, and nombred them in Telaim, two hundreth thousande footemen, and ten thousand men of Iudah.

5. तब शाऊल ने अमालेक नगर के पास जाकर एक नाले में घातकों को बिठाया।

5. And Saul came to a citie of Amalek, and set watch at the riuer.

6. और शाऊल ने केनियों से कहा, कि वहां से हटो, अमालेकियों के मध्य में से निकल जाओ कहीं ऐसा न हो कि मैं उनके साथ तुम्हारा भी अन्त कर डालूं; क्योंकि तुम ने सब इस्राएलियों पर उनके मि से आते समय प्रीति दिखाई थी। और केनी अमालेकियों के मध्य में से निकल गए।

6. And Saul said vnto the Kenites, Goe, depart, and get you downe from among the Amalekites, least I destroy you with them: for ye shewed mercie to all the children of Israel, when they came vp from Egypt: and the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.

7. तब शाऊल ने हवीला से लेकर शूर तक जो मि के साम्हने है अमालेकियों को मारा।

7. So Saul smote the Amalekites from Hauilah as thou commest to Shur, that is before Egypt,

8. और उनके राजा अगाग को जीवित पकड़ा, और उसकी सब प्रजा को तलवार से सत्यानाश कर डाला।

8. And tooke Agag the King of the Amalekites aliue, and destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.

9. परन्तु अगाग पर, और अच्छी से अच्छी भेड़- बकरियों, गाय- बैलों, मोटे पशुओं, और मेम्नों, और जो कुछ अच्छा था, उन पर शाऊल और उसकी प्रजा ने कोमलता की, और उन्हें सत्यानाश करना न चाहा; परन्तु जो कुछ तुच्छ और निकम्मा था उसको उन्हों ने सत्यानाश किया।।

9. But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the better sheepe, and the oxen, and the fat beasts, and the lambes, and all that was good, and they would not destroy them: but euery thing that was vile and nought worth, that they destroyed.

10. तब यहोवा का यह वचन शमूएल के पास पहुंचा,

10. Then came the worde of the Lord vnto Samuel, saying,

11. कि मैं शाऊल को राजा बना के पछताता हूं; क्योंकि उस ने मेरे पीछे चलना छोड़ दिया, और मेरी आज्ञाओं का पालन नहीं किया। तब शमूएल का क्रोध भड़का; और वह रात भर यहोवा की दोहाई देता रहा।

11. It repenteth me that I haue made Saul King: for he is turned from me, and hath not performed my commandements. And Samuel was mooued, and cryed vnto the Lord all night.

12. बिहान को जब शमूएल शाऊल से भेंट करने के लिये सवेरे उठा; तब शमूएल को यह बताया गया, कि शाऊल कर्म्मेल को आया था, और अपने लिये एक निशानी खड़ी की, और घूमकर गिलगाल को चला गया है।

12. And when Samuel arose early to meete Saul in the morning, one tolde Samuel, saying, Saul is gone to Carmel: and beholde, he hath made him there a place, from whence he returned, and departed, and is gone downe to Gilgal.

13. तब शमूएल शाऊल के पास गया, और शाऊल ने उस से कहा, तुझे यहोवा की ओर से आशीष मिले; मैं ने यहोवा की आज्ञा पूरी की है।

13. Then Samuel came to Saul, and Saul said vnto him. Blessed be thou of the Lord, I haue fulfilled the commandement of the Lord.

14. शमूएल ने कहा, फिर भेड़- बकरियों का यह मिमियाना, और गय- बैलों का यह बंबाना जो मुझे सुनाई देता है, यह क्यों हो रहा है?

14. But Samuel saide, What meaneth then the bleating of the sheepe in mine eares, and the lowing of the oxen which I heare?

15. शाऊल ने कहा, वे तो अमालेकियों के यहां से आए हैं; अर्थात् प्रजा के लोगों ने अच्छी से अच्छी भेड़- बकरियों और गाय- बैलों को तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा के लिये बलि करने को छोड़ दिया है; और बाकी सब को तो हम ने सत्यानाश कर दिया है।

15. And Saul answered, They haue brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheepe, and of the oxen to sacrifice them vnto the Lord thy God, and the remnant haue we destroyed.

16. तब शमूएल ने शाऊल से कहा, ठहर जा! और जो बात यहोवा ने आज रात को मुझ से कही है वह मैं तुझ को बताता हूं। उस ने कहा, कह दे।

16. Againe Samuel saide to Saul, Let me tell thee what the Lord hath saide to me this night. And he said vnto him, Say on.

17. शमूएल ने कहा, जब तू अपनी दृष्टि में छोटा था, तब क्या तू इस्राएली गोत्रियों का प्रधान न हो गया, और क्या यहोवा ने इस्राएल पर राज्य करने को तेरा अभिषेक नहीं किया?

17. Then Samuel saide, When thou wast litle in thine owne sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel? for the Lord anointed thee King ouer Israel.

18. और यहोवा ने तुझे यात्रा करने की आज्ञा दी, और कहा, जाकर उन पापी अमालेकियों को सत्यानाश कर, और जब तक वे मिट न जाएं, तब तक उन से लड़ता रह।

18. And the Lord sent thee on a iourney, and saide, Goe, and destroy those sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them, vntill thou destroy them.

19. फिर तू ने किस लिये यहोवा की वह बात टालकर लूट पर टूट के वह काम किया जो यहोवा की दृष्टि में बुरा है?

19. Nowe wherefore hast thou not obeyed the voyce of the Lord, but hast turned to the pray, and hast done wickedly in the sight of the Lord?

20. शाऊल ने शमूएल से कहा, नि:सन्देह मैं ने यहोवा की बात मानकर जिधर यहोवा ने मुझे भेजा उधर चला, और अमालेकियों को सत्यानाश किया है।

20. And Saul saide vnto Samuel, Yea, I haue obeyed the voyce of the Lord, and haue gone the way which the Lord sent me, and haue brought Agag the King of Amalek, and haue destroyed the Amalekites.

21. परन्तु प्रजा के लोग लूट में से भेड़- बकरियों, और गाय- बैलों, अर्थात् सत्यानाश होने की उत्तम उत्तम वस्तुओं को गिलगाल में तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा के लिये बलि चढ़ाने को ले आए हैं।

21. But the people tooke of the spoyle, sheepe, and oxen, and the chiefest of the things which shoulde haue bene destroyed, to offer vnto the Lord thy God in Gilgal.

22. शमूएल ने कहा, क्या यहोवा होमबलियों, और मेलबलियों से उतना प्रसन्न होता है, जितना कि अपनी बात के माने जाने से प्रसन्न होता है? सुन मानना तो बलि चढ़ाने और कान लगाना मेढ़ों की चर्बी से उत्तम है।
मरकुस 12:32-33

22. And Samuel saide, Hath the Lord as great pleasure in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as when the voyce of the Lord is obeyed? beholde, to obey is better then sacrifice, and to hearken is better then the fatte of rammes.

23. देख बलवा करना और भावी कहनेवालों से पूछना एक ही समान पाप है, और हठ करना मूरतों और गृहदेवताओं की पूजा के तुल्य है। तू ने जो यहोवा की बात को तुच्छ जाना, इसलिये उस ने तुझे राजा होने के लिये तुच्छ जाना है।

23. For rebellion is as the sinne of withcraft, and transgression is wickednesse and idolatrie. Because thou hast cast away the worde of the Lord, therefore hee hath cast away thee from being King.

24. शाऊल ने शमूएल से कहा, मैं ने पाप किया है; मैं ने तो अपनी प्रजा के लोगों का भय मानकर और उनकी बात सुनकर यहोवा की आज्ञा और तेरी बातों का उल्लंघन किया है।

24. Then Saul sayde vnto Samuel, I haue sinned: for I haue transgressed the commandement of the Lord, and thy wordes, because I feared the people, and obeyed their voyce.

25. परन्तु अब मेरे पाप को क्षमा कर, और मेरे साथ लौट आ, कि मैं यहोवा को दण्डवत् करूं।

25. Nowe therefore I pray thee, take away my sinne, and turne againe with mee, that I may worship the Lord.

26. शमूएल ने शाऊल से कहा, मैं तेरे साथ न लौटूंगा; क्योंकि तू ने यहोवा की बात को तुच्छ जाना है, और यहोवा ने तुझे इस्राएल का राजा होने के लिये तुच्छ जाना है।

26. But Samuel saide vnto Saul, I will not returne with thee: for thou hast cast away the word of the Lord, and the Lord hath cast away thee, that thou shalt not be King ouer Israel.

27. तब शमूएल जाने के लिये घूमा, और शाऊल ने उसके बागे की छोर को पकड़ा, और वह फट गया।

27. And as Samuel turned himselfe to goe away, he caught the lappe of his coate, and it rent.

28. तब शमूएल ने उस से कहा आज यहोवा ने इस्राएल के राज्य को फाड़कर तुझ से छीन लिया, और तेरे एक पड़ोसी को जो तुझ से अच्छा है दे दिया है।

28. Then Samuel saide vnto him, The Lord hath rent the kingdome of Israel from thee this day, and hath giuen it to thy neighbour, that is better then thou.

29. और जो इस्राएल का बलमूल है वह न तो झूठ बोलता और न पछताता है; क्योंकि वह मनुष्य नहीं है, कि पछताए।
इब्रानियों 6:18

29. For in deede the strength of Israel will not lye nor repent: for hee is not a man that hee should repent.

30. उस ने कहा, मैं ने पाप तो किया है; तौभी मेरी प्रजा के पुरनियों और इस्राएल के साम्हने मेरा आदर कर, और मेरे साथ लौट, कि मैं तेरे परमेश्वर यहोवा को दण्डवत करूं।

30. Then he saide, I haue sinned: but honour mee, I pray thee, before the Elders of my people, and before Israel, and turne againe with mee, that I may worship the Lord thy God.

31. तब शमूएल लौटकर शाऊल के पीछे गया; और शाऊल ने यहोवा का दण्डवत् की।

31. So Samuel turned againe, and followed Saul: and Saul worshipped the Lord.

32. तब शमूएल ने कहा, अमालेकियों के राजा आगाग को मेरे पास ले आओ। तब आगाग आनन्द के साथ यह कहता हुआ उसके पास गया, कि निश्चय मृत्यु का दु:ख जाता रहा।

32. Then saide Samuel, Bring yee hither to me Agag ye King of the Amalekites: and Agag came vnto him pleasantly, and Agag saide, Truely the bitternesse of death is passed.

33. शमूएल ने कहा, जैसे स्त्रियां तेरी तलवार से निर्वंश हुई हैं, वैसे ही तेरी माता स्त्रियों में निर्वंश होगी। तब शमूएल ने आगाग को गिलगाल में यहोवा के साम्हने टुकड़े टुकड़े किया।।

33. And Samuel sayde, As thy sworde hath made women childlesse, so shall thy mother bee childelesse among other women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the Lord in Gilgal.

34. तब शमूएल रामा को चला गया; और शाऊल अपने नगर गिबा को अपने घर गया।

34. So Samuel departed to Ramah, and Saul went vp to his house to Gibeah of Saul.

35. और शमूएल ने अपने जीवन भर शाऊल से फिर भेंट न की, क्योंकि शमूएल शाऊल के लिये विलाप करता रहा। और यहोवा शाऊल को इस्राएल का राजा बनाकर पछताता था।।

35. And Samuel came no more to see Saul vntill the day of his death: but Samuel mourned for Saul, and the Lord repented that hee made Saul King ouer Israel.
