1. पौलुस की ओर से जो हमारे उद्धारकर्ता परमेश्वर, और हमारी आशा- स्थान मसीह यीशु की आज्ञा से मसीह यीशु का प्रेरित है, तिमुथियुस के नाम जो विश्वास में मेरा सच्चा पुत्रा है।।

2. पिता परमेश्वर, और हमारे प्रभु मसीह यीशु से, तुझे अनुग्रह और दया, और शान्ति मिलती रहे।।

2. Vnto Timothe his naturall sonne in the fayth.Grace mercy and peace from God oure father and Lorde Iesus Christ oure Lorde.

3. जैसे मैं ने मकिदुनिया को जाते समय तुझे समझाया था, कि इफिसुस में रहकर कितनों को आज्ञा दे कि और प्रकार की शिक्षा न दें।

4. और उन ऐसी कहानियों और अनन्त वंशावलियों पर मन न लगाएं, जिन से विवाद होते हैं; और परमेश्वर के उस प्रबन्ध के अनुसार नहीं, जो विश्वास से सम्बन्ध रखता है; वैसे ही फिर भी कहता हूं।

5. आज्ञा का सारांश यह है, कि शुद्ध मन और अच्छे विवेक, और कपटरहित विश्वास से प्रेम उत्पन्न हो।

5. for ye ende of the comaundemet is love that cometh of a pure herte and of a good conscience and of fayth vnfayned:

6. इन को छोड़कर कितने लोग फिरकर बकवाद की ओर भटक गए हैं।

6. fro the which thinges some have erred and have turned vnto vayne iangelinge

7. और व्यवस्थापक तो होना चाहते हैं, पर जो बातें कहते और जिन को दृढ़ता से बोलते हैं, उन को समझते भी नहीं।

7. because they wolde be doctours the scripture and yet vnderstonde not what they speake nether wherof they affirme.

8. पर हम जानते हैं, कि यदि कोई व्यवस्था को व्यवस्था की रीति पर काम में लाए, तो वह भली है।

8. We knowe yt the lawe is good yf a man vse it lawfully

9. यह जानकर कि व्यवस्था धर्मी जन के लिये नहीं, पर अधर्मियों, निरंकुशों, भक्तिहीनों, पापीयों, अपवित्रों और अशुद्धों, मां- बाप के घात करनेवालों, हत्यारों।

9. vnderstondinge this how yt the lawe is not geven vnto a righteous man bu vnto the vnrighteous and disobediet to the vngodly and to synners to vnholy and vnclean to murtherers of fathers and murtherers of mothers to manslears

10. व्याभिचारियों, पुरूषगामियों, मनुष्य के बेचनेवालों, झूठों, और झूठी शपथ खानेवालों, और इन को छोड़ खरे उपदेश के सब विरोधियों के लिये ठहराई गई है।

10. and whormongers: to them that defile them selves with mankynde: to menstealers: to lyars and to periured and so forth yf ther be eny other thinge that is cotrary to holsome doctrine

11. यही परमधन्य परमेश्वर की महिमा के उस सुसमाचार के अनुसार है, जो मुझे सौंपा गया है।।

12. और मैं, अपने प्रभु मसीह यीशु का, जिस ने मुझे सामर्थ दी है, धन्यवाद करता हूं; कि उस ने मुझे विश्वासयोग्य समझकर अपनी सेवा के लिये ठहराया।

12. And I thanke Christ Iesus oure Lorde which hath made me stronge: for he counted me true and put me in office

13. मैं तो पहिले निन्दा करनेवाला, और सतानेवाला, और अन्धेर करनेवाला था; तौभी मुझ पर दया हुई, क्योंकि मैं ने अविश्वास की दशा में बिन समझे बूझे, ये काम किए थे।

13. when before I was a blasphemar and a persecuter and a tyraut. But I obtayned mercy because I dyd it ignorautly thorow vnbelefe.

14. और हमारे प्रभु का अनुग्रह उस विश्वास और प्रेम के साथ जो मसीह यीशु में है, बहुतायत से हुआ।

14. Neverthelater the grace of oure Lorde was more aboundaunt with fayth and love which is in Christ Iesu.

15. यह बात सच और हर प्रकार से मानने के योग्य है, कि मसीह यीशु पापियों का उद्धार करने के लिये जगत में आया, जिन में सब से बड़ा मैं हूं।

15. This is a true sayinge and by all meanes worthy to be receaved that Christ Iesus came into the world to save synners of whom I am chefe.

16. पर मुझपर इसलिये दया हुई, कि मुझ सब से बड़े पापी में यीशु मसीह अपनी पूरी सहनशीलता दिखाए, कि जो लोग उस पर अनन्त जीवन के लिये विश्वास करेंगे, उन के लिये मैं एक आदर्श बनूं।

16. Notwithstondinge for this cause was mercy geve vnto me that Iesus Christ shuld fyrst shewe on me all longe pacience vnto the ensample of them which shall in tyme to come beleve on him vnto eternall lyfe.

17. अब सनातन राजा अर्थात् अविनाशी अनदेखे अद्वैत परमेश्वर का आदर और महिमा युगानुयुग होती रहे। आमीन।।

17. So then vnto god kynge everlastinge immortall invisible and wyse only be honoure and prayse for ever and ever Amen.

18. हे पुत्रा तीमुथियुस, उन भविष्यद्ववाणियों के अनुसार जो पहिले तेरे विषय में की गई थीं, मैं यह आज्ञा सौंपता हूं, कि तू उन के अनुसार अच्छी लड़ाई को लड़ता रहे।

18. This commaundement commit I vnto the sonne Timotheus accordynge to the prophisies which in tyme past were prophisied of the yt thou in them shuldest fyght a good fyght

19. और विश्वास और उस अच्छे विवेक को थामें रहे जिसे दूर करने के कारण कितनों का विश्वास रूपी जहाज डूब गया।

19. havinge fayth and good consciece which some have put awaye fro them and as cocerninge fayth have made shipwracke.

20. उन्हीं में से हुमिनयुस और सिकन्दर हैं जिन्हें मैं ने शैतान को सौंप दिया, कि वे निन्दा करना न सीखें।।

20. Of whose nombre is Himeneus and Alexander which I have delivered vnto Satan yt they myght be taught not to blaspheme
