1. पौलुस की ओर से जो हमारे उद्धारकर्ता परमेश्वर, और हमारी आशा- स्थान मसीह यीशु की आज्ञा से मसीह यीशु का प्रेरित है, तिमुथियुस के नाम जो विश्वास में मेरा सच्चा पुत्रा है।।

1. From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus, by the command of God our Savior and Christ Jesus our hope.

2. पिता परमेश्वर, और हमारे प्रभु मसीह यीशु से, तुझे अनुग्रह और दया, और शान्ति मिलती रहे।।

2. To Timothy, a true child to me because you believe: Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

3. जैसे मैं ने मकिदुनिया को जाते समय तुझे समझाया था, कि इफिसुस में रहकर कितनों को आज्ञा दे कि और प्रकार की शिक्षा न दें।

3. I asked you to stay longer in Ephesus when I went into Macedonia so you could command some people there to stop teaching false things.

4. और उन ऐसी कहानियों और अनन्त वंशावलियों पर मन न लगाएं, जिन से विवाद होते हैं; और परमेश्वर के उस प्रबन्ध के अनुसार नहीं, जो विश्वास से सम्बन्ध रखता है; वैसे ही फिर भी कहता हूं।

4. Tell them not to spend their time on stories that are not true and on long lists of names in family histories. These things only bring arguments; they do not help God's work, which is done in faith.

5. आज्ञा का सारांश यह है, कि शुद्ध मन और अच्छे विवेक, और कपटरहित विश्वास से प्रेम उत्पन्न हो।

5. The purpose of this command is for people to have love, a love that comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a true faith.

6. इन को छोड़कर कितने लोग फिरकर बकवाद की ओर भटक गए हैं।

6. Some people have missed these things and turned to useless talk.

7. और व्यवस्थापक तो होना चाहते हैं, पर जो बातें कहते और जिन को दृढ़ता से बोलते हैं, उन को समझते भी नहीं।

7. They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not understand either what they are talking about or what they are sure about.

8. पर हम जानते हैं, कि यदि कोई व्यवस्था को व्यवस्था की रीति पर काम में लाए, तो वह भली है।

8. But we know that the law is good if someone uses it lawfully.

9. यह जानकर कि व्यवस्था धर्मी जन के लिये नहीं, पर अधर्मियों, निरंकुशों, भक्तिहीनों, पापीयों, अपवित्रों और अशुद्धों, मां- बाप के घात करनेवालों, हत्यारों।

9. We also know that the law is not made for good people but for those who are against the law and for those who refuse to follow it. It is for people who are against God and are sinful, who are not holy and have no religion, who kill their fathers and mothers, who murder,

10. व्याभिचारियों, पुरूषगामियों, मनुष्य के बेचनेवालों, झूठों, और झूठी शपथ खानेवालों, और इन को छोड़ खरे उपदेश के सब विरोधियों के लिये ठहराई गई है।

10. who take part in sexual sins, who have sexual relations with people of the same sex, who sell slaves, who tell lies, who speak falsely, and who do anything against the true teaching of God.

11. यही परमधन्य परमेश्वर की महिमा के उस सुसमाचार के अनुसार है, जो मुझे सौंपा गया है।।

11. That teaching is part of the Good News of the blessed God that he gave me to tell.

12. और मैं, अपने प्रभु मसीह यीशु का, जिस ने मुझे सामर्थ दी है, धन्यवाद करता हूं; कि उस ने मुझे विश्वासयोग्य समझकर अपनी सेवा के लिये ठहराया।

12. I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who gave me strength, because he trusted me and gave me this work of serving him.

13. मैं तो पहिले निन्दा करनेवाला, और सतानेवाला, और अन्धेर करनेवाला था; तौभी मुझ पर दया हुई, क्योंकि मैं ने अविश्वास की दशा में बिन समझे बूझे, ये काम किए थे।

13. In the past I spoke against Christ and persecuted him and did all kinds of things to hurt him. But God showed me mercy, because I did not know what I was doing. I did not believe.

14. और हमारे प्रभु का अनुग्रह उस विश्वास और प्रेम के साथ जो मसीह यीशु में है, बहुतायत से हुआ।

14. But the grace of our Lord was fully given to me, and with that grace came the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

15. यह बात सच और हर प्रकार से मानने के योग्य है, कि मसीह यीशु पापियों का उद्धार करने के लिये जगत में आया, जिन में सब से बड़ा मैं हूं।

15. What I say is true, and you should fully accept it: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am the worst.

16. पर मुझपर इसलिये दया हुई, कि मुझ सब से बड़े पापी में यीशु मसीह अपनी पूरी सहनशीलता दिखाए, कि जो लोग उस पर अनन्त जीवन के लिये विश्वास करेंगे, उन के लिये मैं एक आदर्श बनूं।

16. But I was given mercy so that in me, the worst of all sinners, Christ Jesus could show that he has patience without limit. His patience with me made me an example for those who would believe in him and have life forever.

17. अब सनातन राजा अर्थात् अविनाशी अनदेखे अद्वैत परमेश्वर का आदर और महिमा युगानुयुग होती रहे। आमीन।।

17. To the King that rules forever, who will never die, who cannot be seen, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

18. हे पुत्रा तीमुथियुस, उन भविष्यद्ववाणियों के अनुसार जो पहिले तेरे विषय में की गई थीं, मैं यह आज्ञा सौंपता हूं, कि तू उन के अनुसार अच्छी लड़ाई को लड़ता रहे।

18. Timothy, my child, I am giving you a command that agrees with the prophecies that were given about you in the past. I tell you this so you can follow them and fight the good fight.

19. और विश्वास और उस अच्छे विवेक को थामें रहे जिसे दूर करने के कारण कितनों का विश्वास रूपी जहाज डूब गया।

19. Continue to have faith and do what you know is right. Some people have rejected this, and their faith has been shipwrecked.

20. उन्हीं में से हुमिनयुस और सिकन्दर हैं जिन्हें मैं ने शैतान को सौंप दिया, कि वे निन्दा करना न सीखें।।

20. Hymenaeus and Alexander have done that, and I have given them to Satan so they will learn not to speak against God.
