1. मसीह यीशु के दास पौलुस और तीमुथियुस की ओर से सब पवित्रा लोगों के नाम, जो मसीह यीशु में होकर फिलिप्पी मेेें रहते हैं, अध्यक्षों और सेवकों समेत।

1. From Paul and Timothy, servants of Christ Jesus. To all of God's holy people in Christ Jesus who live in Philippi, including your elders and deacons:

2. हमारे पिता परमेश्वर और प्रभु यीशु मसीह की ओर से तुम्हें अनुग्रह और शान्ति मिलती रहे।।

2. Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

3. मैं जब जब तुम्हें स्मरण करता हूं, तब तब अपने परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करता हूं।

3. I thank my God every time I remember you,

4. और जब कभी तुम सब के लिये बिनती करता हूं, तो सदा आनन्द के साथ बिनती करता हूं।

4. always praying with joy for all of you.

5. इसलिये, कि तुम पहिले दिन से लेकर आज तक सुसमाचार के फैलाने में मेरे सहभागी रहे हो।

5. I thank God for the help you gave me while I preached the Good News -- help you gave from the first day you believed until now.

6. और मुझे इस बात का भरोसा है, कि जिस ने तुम में अच्छा काम आरम्भ किया है, वही उसे यीशु मसीह के दिन तक पूरा करेगा।

6. God began doing a good work in you, and I am sure he will continue it until it is finished when Jesus Christ comes again.

7. उचित है, कि मैं तुम सब के लिये ऐसा ही विचार करूं क्योंकि तुम मेरे मन में आ बसे हो, और मेरी कैद में और सुसमाचार के लिये उत्तर और प्रमाण देने में तुम सब मेरे साथ अनुग्रह में सहभागी हो।

7. And I know that I am right to think like this about all of you, because I have you in my heart. All of you share in God's grace with me while I am in prison and while I am defending and proving the truth of the Good News.

8. इस में परमेश्वर मेरा गवाह है, कि मैं मसीह यीशु की सी प्रीति करके तुम सब की लालसा करता हूं।

8. God knows that I want to see you very much, because I love all of you with the love of Christ Jesus.

9. और मैं यह प्रार्थना करता हूं, कि तुम्हारा प्रेम, ज्ञान और सब प्रकार के विवेक सहित और भी बढ़ता जाए।

9. This is my prayer for you: that your love will grow more and more; that you will have knowledge and understanding with your love;

10. यहां तक कि तुम उत्तम से उत्तम बातों को प्रिय जानो, और मसीह के दिन तक सच्चे बने रहो; और ठोकर न खाओ।

10. that you will see the difference between good and bad and will choose the good; that you will be pure and without wrong for the coming of Christ;

11. और उस धार्मिकता के फल से जो यीशु मसीह के द्वारा होते हैं, भरपूर होते जाओ जिस से परमेश्वर की महिमा और स्तुति होती रहे।।

11. that you will do many good things with the help of Christ to bring glory and praise to God.

12. हे भाइयों, मैं चाहता हूं, कि तुम यह जान लो, कि मुझ पर जो बीता है, उस से सुसमाचार ही की बढ़ती हुई है।

12. I want you brothers and sisters to know that what has happened to me has helped to spread the Good News.

13. यहां तक कि कैसरी राज्य की सारी पलटन और शेष सब लोगों में यह प्रगट हो गया है कि मैं मसीह के लिये कैद हूं।

13. All the palace guards and everyone else knows that I am in prison because I am a believer in Christ.

14. और प्रभु में जो भाई हैं, उन में से बहुधा मेरे कैद होने के कारण, हियाव बान्ध कर, परमेश्वर का वचन निधड़क सुनाने का और भी हियाव करते हैं।

14. Because I am in prison, most of the believers have become more bold in Christ and are not afraid to speak the word of God.

15. कितने तो डाह और झगड़े के कारण मसीह का प्रचार करते हैं और कितने भली मनसा से।

15. It is true that some preach about Christ because they are jealous and ambitious, but others preach about Christ because they want to help.

16. कई एक तो यह जान कर कि मैं सुसमाचार के लिये उत्तर देने को ठहराया गया हूं प्रेम से प्रचार करते हैं।

16. They preach because they have love, and they know that God gave me the work of defending the Good News.

17. और कई एक तो सीधाई से नहीं पर विरोध से मसीह की कथा सुनाते हैं, यह समझ कर कि मेरी कैद में मेरे लिये क्लेश उत्पन्न करें।

17. But the others preach about Christ for selfish and wrong reasons, wanting to make trouble for me in prison.

18. सो क्या हुआ? केवल यह, कि हर प्रकार से चाहे बहाने से, चाहे सच्चाई से, मसीह की कथा सुनाई जाती है, और मैं इस से आनन्दित हूं, और आनन्दित रहूंगा भी।

18. But it doesn't matter. The important thing is that in every way, whether for right or wrong reasons, they are preaching about Christ. So I am happy, and I will continue to be happy.

19. क्योंकि मैं जानता हूं, कि तुम्हारी बिनती के द्वारा, और यीशु मसीह की आत्मा के दान के द्वारा इस का प्रतिफल मेरा उद्धार होगा।

19. Because you are praying for me and the Spirit of Jesus Christ is helping me, I know this trouble will bring my freedom.

20. मैं तो यही हार्दिक लालसा और आशा रखता हूं, कि मैं किसी बात में लज्जित न होऊं, पर जैसे मेरे प्रबल साहस के कारण मसीह की बड़ाई मेरी देह के द्वारा सदा होती रही है, वैसा ही अब भी हो चाहे मैं जीवित रहूं वा मर जाऊं।

20. I expect and hope that I will not fail Christ in anything but that I will have the courage now, as always, to show the greatness of Christ in my life here on earth, whether I live or die.

21. क्योंकि मेरे लिये जीवित रहना मसीह है, और मर जाना लाभ है।

21. To me the only important thing about living is Christ, and dying would be profit for me.

22. पर यदि शरीर में जीवित रहना ही मेरे काम के लिये लाभदायक है तो मैं नहीं जानता, कि किस को चुनूं।

22. If I continue living in my body, I will be able to work for the Lord. I do not know what to choose -- living or dying.

23. क्योंकि मैं दोनों के बीच अधर में लटका हूं; जी तो चाहता है कि कूच करके मसीह के पास जा रहूं, क्योंकि यह बहुत ही अच्छा है।

23. It is hard to choose between the two. I want to leave this life and be with Christ, which is much better,

24. परन्तु शरीर में रहना तुम्हारे कारण और भी आवश्यक है।

24. but you need me here in my body.

25. और इसलिये कि मुझे इस का भरोसा है सो मैं जानता हूं कि मैं जीवित रहूंगा, बरन तुम सब के साथ रहूंगा जिस से तुम विश्वास में दृढ़ होते जाओ और उस में आनन्दित रहो।

25. Since I am sure of this, I know I will stay with you to help you grow and have joy in your faith.

26. और जो घमण्ड तुम मेरे विषय में करते हो, वह मेरे फिर तुम्हारे पास आने से मसीह यीशु में अधिक बढ़ जाए।

26. You will be very happy in Christ Jesus when I am with you again.

27. केवल इतना करो कि तुम्हारा चाल- चलन मसीह के सुसमाचार के योग्य हो कि चाहे मैं आकर तुम्हें देखूं, चाहे न भी आऊं, तुम्हारे विषय में यह सुनूं, कि तुम एक ही आत्मा में स्थिर हो, और एक चित्त होकर सुसमाचार के विश्वास के लिये परिश्रम करते रहते हो।

27. Only one thing concerns me: Be sure that you live in a way that brings honor to the Good News of Christ. Then whether I come and visit you or am away from you, I will hear that you are standing strong with one purpose, that you work together as one for the faith of the Good News,

28. और किसी बात में विरोधियों से भय नहीं खाते? यह उन के लिये विनाश का स्पष्ट चिन्ह है, परन्तु तुम्हारे लिये उद्धार का, और यह परमेश्वर की ओर से है।

28. and that you are not afraid of those who are against you. All of this is proof that your enemies will be destroyed but that you will be saved by God.

29. क्योंकि मसीह के कारण तुम पर यह अनुग्रह हुआ कि न केवल उस पर विश्वास करो पर उसके लिये दुख भी उठाओ।

29. God gave you the honor not only of believing in Christ but also of suffering for him, both of which bring glory to Christ.

30. और तुम्हें वैसा ही परिश्रम करना है, जैसा तुम ने मुझे करते देखा है, और अब भी सुनते हो, कि मैं वैसा ही करता हूं।।

30. When I was with you, you saw the struggles I had, and you hear about the struggles I am having now. You yourselves are having the same kind of struggles.
