1. जब तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा उन जातियों को नाश करे जिनका देश वह तुझे देता है, और तू उनके देश का अधिकारी हो के उनके नगरों और घरों में रहने लगे,

1. Whan ye LORDE thy God shall haue roted out ye nacios, whose londe ye LORDE thy God shal geue the, so yt thou hast conquered them, and dwellest in their cities and houses,

2. तब अपने देश के बीच जिसका अधिकारी तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझे कर देता है तीन नगर अपने लिये अलग कर देना।

2. thou shalt appoynte the out thre cities in the myddes of the lode, yt the LORDE thy God shal geue ye to possesse.

3. और तू अपने लिये मार्ग भी तैयार करना, और अपने देश के जो तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझे सौंप देता है तीन भाग करना, ताकि हर एक खूनी वहीं भाग जाए।

3. Thou shalt prepare the waye, and parte the coastes of yi londe (which ye LORDE thy God shal deuyde out vnto the) in to thre partes, that whosoeuer hath commytted a slaughter, maye flie thither.

4. और जो खूनी वहां भागकर अपने प्राण को बचाए, वह इस प्रकार का हो; अर्थात् वह किसी से बिना पहिले बैर रखे वा उसको बिना जाने बूझे मार डाला हो

4. And this shalbe the cause, that whosoeuer hath committed a slaughter, maye flye thyther, and lyue.

6. ऐसा न हो कि मार्ग की लम्बाई के कारण खून का पलटा लेनेवाला अपने क्रोध के ज्वलन में उसका पीछा करके उसको जा पकड़े, और मार डाले, यद्यपि वह प्राणदण्ड के योग्य नहीं, क्योंकि उस से बैर नहीं रखता था।

6. lest the auenger of bloude folowe after the deedsleyer, whyle his hert is whote, and ouertake him, whyle the waye is so farre, and slaye him, where as yet no cause of death is in hi, for so moch as he hated him not in tyme passed.

7. इसलिये मैं तुझे यह आज्ञा देता हूं, कि अपने लिये तीन नगर अलग कर रखना।

7. Therfore commaunde I the, that thou appoynte out thre cities.

8. और यदि तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा उस शपथ के अनुसार जो उस ने तेरे पूर्वजों से खाई थी तेरे सिवानों को बढ़ाकर वह सारा देश तुझे दे, जिसके देने का वचन उस ने तेरे पूर्वजों को दिया था

8. And whan the LORDE yi God enlargeth thy borders, as he hath sworne vnto thy fathers, & geueth the all the lode which he promysed thy fathers to geue

9. यदि तू इन सब आज्ञाओं के मानने में जिन्हें मैं आज तुझ को सुनाता हूं चौकसी करे, और अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा से प्रेम रखे और सदा उसके मार्गों पर चलता रहे तो इन तीन नगरों से अधिक और भी तीन नगर अलग कर देना,

9. (so that thou kepe all these comaundementes, and do yt I commaunde the this daye, yt thou loue the LORDE thy God, and walke in his wayes all yi life longe) the shalt thou adde yet thre cities vnto these thre,

10. इसलिये कि तेरे उस देश में जो तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तेरा निज भाग करके देता है किसी निर्दोष का खून न बहाया जाए, और उसका दोष तुझ पर न लगे।

10. that innocent bloude be not shed in thy londe (which the LORDE yi God geueth the to enheritaunce) and so bloude come vpon the.

11. परन्तु यदि कोई किसी से बैर रखकर उसकी घात में लगे, और उस पर लपककर उसे ऐसा मारे कि वह मर जाए, और फिर उन नगरों में से किसी में भाग जाए,

11. But yf eny man beare hate agaynst his neghboure, and layeth waite for him, and ryseth agaynst him, and smyteth him that he dye, and flyeth in to one of these cities,

12. तो उसके नगर के पुरनिये किसी को भेजकर उसको वहां से मंगाकर खून के पलटा लेनेवाले के हाथ में सौंप दे, कि वह मार डाला जाए।

12. then shall the Elders of the same cite sende thither, and cause him to be fetched from thence, and delyuer him in to the handes of the auenger of bloude, that he maye dye:

13. उस पर तरस न खाना, परन्तु निर्दोष के खून का दोष इस्राएल से दूर करना, जिस से तुम्हारा भला हों।।

13. thine eye shal not pitie him, and the giltye bloude shalt thou put awaye fro Israel, that thou mayest prospere.

14. जो देश तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा तुझ को देता है, उसका जो भाग तुझे मिलेगा, उस में किसी का सिवाना जिसे अगले लोगों ने ठहराया हो न हटाना।।

14. Thou shalt not remoue thy neghbours marck, which they of olde tyme haue set in thine enheritaunce, that thou enheretest in the londe, which the LORDE thy God hath geuen the to possesse it.

15. किसी मनुष्य के विरूद्ध किसी प्रकार के अधर्म वा पाप के विषय में, चाहे उसका पाप कैसा ही क्यो न हो, एक ही जन की साक्षी न सुनना, परन्तु दो वा तीन साक्षीयों के कहने से बात पक्की ठहरे।

15. One witnesse shal not stonde vp alone agaynst a man, ouer eny trespace or synne, what maner of synne so euer it be, yt a man can do, but in the mouth of two or thre witnesses shal euery matter be stablished.

16. यदि कोई झूठी साक्षी देनेवाला किसी के विरूद्ध याहोवा से फिर जाने की साक्षी देने को खड़ा हो,

16. But yf an vnrighteous wytnesse stonde vp agaynst eny man, to testifye eny trespace vpon him,

17. तो वे दोनों मनुष्य, जिनके बीच ऐसा मुक मा उठा हो, यहोवा के सम्मुख, अर्थात् उन दिनों के याजकों और न्यायियों के साम्हने खड़े किए जाएं;

17. then shall both the men that stryue together, stonde before the LORDE, before the prestes and Iudges, which shall be at the same tyme.

18. तब न्यायी भली भांति पूछपाछ करें, और यदि यह निर्णय पाए कि वह झूठा साक्षी है, और अपने भाई के विरूद्ध झूठी साक्षी दी है

18. And the iudges shall make diligent inquisicion: & yf the witnesse be founde false, and hath geue false witnesse agaynst his brother,

19. तो अपने भाई की जैसी भी हानि करवाने की युक्ति उस ने की हो वैसी ही तुम भी उसकी करना; इसी रीति से अपने बीच में से ऐसी बुराई को दूर करना।
1 कुरिन्थियों 5:13

19. then shall ye do vnto him, euen as he thoughte to do vnto his brother: that thou mayest put awaye the euell from the that

20. और दूसरे लोग सुनकर डरेंगे, और आगे को तेरे बीच फिर ऐसा बुरा काम नहीं करेंगे।

20. other maye heare and feare, and take nomore vpon them to do soch wicked poyntes amonge you.

21. और तू बिलकुल तरस न खाना; प्राण की सन्ती प्राण का, आंख की सन्ती आंख का, दांत की सन्ती दांत का, हाथ की सन्ती हाथ का, पांव की सन्ती पांव का दण्ड देना।।
मत्ती 5:38

21. Thine eye shall not pitie him. Soule for soule, eye for eye, tothe for tothe, hande for hande, fote for fote.
