1. इसलिये प्रिय, बालकों की नाई परमेश्वर के सदृश बनो।

1. Become ye, therefore, imitators of God, as children beloved,

2. और प्रेम में चलो; जैसे मसीह ने भी तुम से प्रेम किया; और हमारे लिये अपने आप को सुखदायक सुगन्ध के लिये परमेश्वर के आगे भेंट करके बलिदान कर दिया।
निर्गमन 29:18, भजन संहिता 40:6

2. And walk in love even as, the Christ also, loved you, and delivered himself up in your behalf, an offering and sacrifice unto God, for a fragrance of sweet smell.

3. और जैसा पवित्रा लागों के योग्य है, वैसा तु में व्यभिचार, और किसी प्रकार अशुद्ध काम, या लोभ की चर्चा तक न हो।

3. But, fornication, and all impurity, or covetousness, let it not be named among you even as becometh saints;

4. और न निर्लज्जता, न मूढ़ता की बातचीत की, न ठट्ठे की, क्योंकि ये बातें सोहती नहीं, बरन धन्यवाद ही सुना जाएं।

4. And shamelessness and foolish talking, or jesting, which things are beneath you, but, rather, giving of thanks;

5. क्योंकि तुम यह जानते हो, कि किसी व्यभिचारी, या अशुद्ध जन, या लोभी मनुष्य की, जो मूरत पूजनेवाले के बराबर है, मसीह और परमेश्वर के राज्य में मीरास नहीं।

5. For, this, ye know, if ye take note that no fornicator, or impure or greedy person, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of the Christ and God.

6. कोई तुम्हें व्यर्थ बातों से धोखा न दे; क्योंकि इन ही कामों के कारण परमेश्वर का क्रोध आज्ञा ने माननेवालों पर भड़कता है।

6. Let no one be deceiving you with empty words; for, because of these things, is coming the anger of God upon the sons of obstinacy:

7. इसलिये तुम उन के सहभागी न हो।

7. Do not, then, become co-partners with them;

8. क्योंकि तुम तो पहले अन्धकार थे परन्तु अब प्रभु में ज्योति हो, सो ज्योति की सन्तान की नाई चलो।

8. For ye were, at one time, darkness, but, now, are ye light in the Lord, as children of light, be walking,

9. (क्योंकि ज्योंति का फल सब प्रकार की भलाई, और धार्मिकता, और सत्य है)।

9. For, the fruit of the light, is in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth,

10. और यह परखो, कि प्रभु को क्या भाता है?

10. Putting to the test what is well-pleasing unto the Lord;

11. और अन्धकार के निष्फल कामों में सहभागी न हो, बरन उन पर उलाहना दो।

11. And be not joining in fellowship in the unfruitful works of darkness, but, rather, be even administering reproof;

12. क्योंकि उन के गुप्त कामों की चर्चा भी लाज की बात है।

12. For, of the secret things which are brought to pass by them, it is, shameful, even to speak!

13. पर जितने कामों पर उलाहना दिया जाता है वे सब ज्योति से प्रगट होते हैं, क्योंकि जो सब कुछ को प्रगट करता है, वह ज्योंति है।

13. All things, however, when reproved by the light, become manifest, for, all that of itself maketh manifest, is, light;

14. इस कारण वह कहता है, हे सोनेवाले जाग और मुर्दों में से जी उठ; तो मसीह की ज्योति तुझ पर चमकेगी।।
यशायाह 52:1, यशायाह 60:1

14. Wherefore it saith Up! thou sleeper, and arise from among the dead, and the Christ will shine upon thee.

15. इसलिये ध्यान से देखो, कि कैसी चाल चलते हो; निर्बुद्धियों की नाईं नहीं पर बुद्धिमानों की नाईं चलो।

15. Be taking heed, therefore, exactly how ye are walking, not as unwise, but as wise,

16. और अवसर को बहुमोल समझो, क्योंकि दिन बुरे हैं।
आमोस 5:13

16. Buying out for yourselves the opportunity, because, the days, are evil;

17. इस कारण निर्बुद्धि न हो, पर ध्यान से समझो, कि प्रभु की इच्छा क्या है?

17. For this cause, do not become foolish, but have discernment as to what is the will of the Lord;

18. और दाखरस से मतवाले न बनो, क्योंकि इस से लुचपर होता है, पर आत्मा से परिपूर्ण होते जाओ।
नीतिवचन 23:31

18. And be not getting drunk with wine, in which is dissoluteness, but be getting filled in Spirit;

19. और आपस में भजन और स्तुतिगान और आत्मिक गीत गाया करो, और अपने अपने मन में प्रभु के साम्हने गाते और कीर्तन करते रहो।
भजन संहिता 33:2-3

19. Speaking to yourselves, with psalms and hymns and spiritual songs; singing, and striking the strings, with your heart unto the Lord;

20. और सदा सब बातों के लिये हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम से परमेश्वर पिता का धन्यवाद करते रहो।

20. Giving thanks, always, for all things, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, unto your God and Father;

21. और मसीह के भय से एक दूसरे के आधीन रहो।।

21. Submitting yourselves one to another in reverence of Christ,

22. हे पत्नियों, अपने अपने पति के ऐसे अधीन रहो, जैसे प्रभु के।
उत्पत्ति 3:16

22. Ye wives, unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord,

23. क्योंकि पति पत्नी का सिर है जैसे कि मसीह कलीसिया का सिर है; और आप ही देह का उद्धारकर्ता है।

23. Because, a husband, is the head of his wife, as, the Christ also, is the head of the assembly, he, being the saviour of the body,

24. पर जैसे कलीसिया मसही के आधीन है, वैसे ही पत्नियां भी हर बात में अपने अपने पति के आधीन रहें।

24. Nevertheless, as, the assembly, submitteth herself unto the Christ, so, the wives, unto their husbands, in everything:

25. हे पतियों, अपनी अपनी पत्नी से प्रेम रखो, जैसा मसीह ने भी कलीसिया से प्रेम करके अपने आप को उसके लिये दे दिया।

25. Ye husbands, be loving your wives, even as, the Christ also, loved the assembly, and delivered, himself, up in her behalf,

26. कि उस को वचन के द्वारा जल के स्नान से शुद्ध करके पवित्रा बनाए।

26. That, her, he might sanctify, having purified her with the bath of water, in declaration,

27. और उसे एक ऐसी तेजस्वी कलीसिया बनाकर अपने मास खड़ी करे, जिस में न कलंक, न झुर्री, न कोई ऐसी वस्तु हो, बरन पवित्रा और निर्दोष हो।

27. That, he, might present, unto himself, the assembly, all glorious, not having spot or wrinkle or any of such things, but that she should be holy and blameless;

28. इसी प्रकार उचित है, कि पति अपनी अपनी पत्नी से प्रेम रखता है, वह अपने आप से प्रेम रखता है।

28. So, ought the husbands also to be loving their own wives, as their own bodies, he that loveth his own wife, loveth himself,

29. क्योंकि किसी ने कभी अपने शरीर से बैर नहीं रखा बरन उसका पालन- पोषण करता है, जैसा मसीह भी कलीसिया के साथ करता है

29. No one, in fact, ever yet hated, his own flesh, but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as, the Christ, the assembly,

30. इसलिये कि हम उस की देह के अंग हैं।

30. Because, members, are we of his body;

31. इस कारण मनुष्य माता पिता को छोड़कर अपनी पत्नी से मिला रहेगा, और वे दोनों एक तन होंगे।
उत्पत्ति 2:24

31. For this cause, will a man leave his father and his mother, and will cleave unto his wife, and, they two, shall become, one flesh.

32. यह भेद तो बड़ा है; पर मैं मसीह और कलीसिया के विषय में कहता हूं।

32. This sacred secret, is, great, I, however, am speaking as to Christ and as to the assembly;

33. पर तुम में से हर एक अपनी पत्नी से अपने समान प्रेम रखे, और पत्नी भी अपने पति का भय माने।।

33. Nevertheless, ye also, do ye, individually, each man be so loving, his own wife, as himself, and, the wife, see that she reverence her husband.
