1. मसीह ने स्वतंत्राता के लिये हमें स्वतंत्रा किया है; सो इसी में स्थिर रहो, और दासत्व के जूए में फिर से न जुतो।।

1. IN [this] freedom Christ has made us free [and completely liberated us]; stand fast then, and do not be hampered and held ensnared and submit again to a yoke of slavery [which you have once put off].

2. देखो, मैं पौलुस तुम से कहता हूं, कि यदि खतना कराओगे, तो मसीह से तुम्हें कुछ लाभ न होगा।

2. Notice, it is I, Paul, who tells you that if you receive circumcision, Christ will be of no profit (advantage, avail) to you [for if you distrust Him, you can gain nothing from Him].

3. फिर भी मैं हर एक खतना करानेवाले को जताए देता हूं, कि उसे सारी व्यवस्था माननी पड़ेगी।

3. I once more protest and testify to every man who receives circumcision that he is under obligation and bound to practice the whole of the Law and its ordinances.

4. तुम जो व्यवस्था के द्वारा धर्मी ठहरना चाहते हो, मसीह से अलग और अनुग्रह से गिर गए हो।

4. If you seek to be justified and declared righteous and to be given a right standing with God through the Law, you are brought to nothing and so separated (severed) from Christ. You have fallen away from grace (from God's gracious favor and unmerited blessing).

5. क्योंकि आत्मा के कारण, हम विश्वास से, आशा की हुई धार्मिकता की बाट जोहते हैं।

5. For we, [not relying on the Law but] through the [Holy] Spirit's [help], by faith anticipate and wait for the blessing and good for which our righteousness and right standing with God [our conformity to His will in purpose, thought, and action, causes us] to hope.

6. और मसीह यीशु में न खतना, न खतनारहित कुछ काम का है, परन्तु केवल विश्वास का जो प्रेम के द्वारा प्रभाव करता है।

6. For [if we are] in Christ Jesus, neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith activated and energized and expressed and working through love.

7. तुम तो भली भांति दौड रहे थे, अब किस ने तुम्हें रोक दिया, कि सत्य को न मानो।

7. You were running the race nobly. Who has interfered in (hindered and stopped you from) your heeding and following the Truth?

8. ऐसी सीख तुम्हारे बुलानेवाले की ओर से नहीं।

8. This [evil] persuasion is not from Him Who called you [Who invited you to freedom in Christ].

9. थोड़ा सा खमीर सारे गूंधे हुए आटे को खमीर कर डालता है।

9. A little leaven (a slight inclination to error, or a few false teachers) leavens the whole lump [it perverts the whole conception of faith or misleads the whole church].

10. मैं प्रभु पर तुम्हारे विषय में भरोसा रखताह हूं, कि तुम्हारा कोई दूसरा विचार न होगा; परन्तु जो तुम्हें घबरा देता है, वह कोई क्यों न हो दण्ड पाएगा।

10. [For my part] I have confidence [toward you] in the Lord that you will take no contrary view of the matter but will come to think with me. But he who is unsettling you, whoever he is, will have to bear the penalty.

11. परन्तु हे भाइयो, यदि मैं अब तक खतना का प्रचार करता हूं, तो क्यों अब तक सताया जाता हूं; फिर तो क्रूस की ठोकर जाती रही।

11. But, brethren, if I still preach circumcision [as some accuse me of doing, as necessary to salvation], why am I still suffering persecution? In that case the cross has ceased to be a stumbling block and is made meaningless (done away).

12. भला होता, कि जो तुम्हें डांवाडोल करते हैं, वे काट डाले जाते!

12. I wish those who unsettle and confuse you would [go all the way and] cut themselves off!

13. हे भाइयों, तुम स्वतंत्रा होने के लिये बुलाए गए हो परन्तु ऐसा न हो, कि यह स्वतंत्राता शारीरिक कामों के लिये अवसर बने, बरन प्र्रेम से एक दूसरे के दास बनो।

13. For you, brethren, were [indeed] called to freedom; only [do not let your] freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse [for selfishness], but through love you should serve one another.

14. क्योंकि सारी व्यवस्था इस एक ही बात में पूरी हो जाती है, कि तू अपने पड़ोसी से अपने समान प्रेम रख।
लैव्यव्यवस्था 19:18

14. For the whole Law [concerning human relationships] is complied with in the one precept, You shall love your neighbor as [you do] yourself. [Lev. 19:18.]

15. पर यदि तुम एक दूसरे को दांत से काटते और फाड़ खाते हो, तो चौकस रहो, कि एक दूसरे का सत्यानाश न कर दो।।

15. But if you bite and devour one another [in partisan strife], be careful that you [and your whole fellowship] are not consumed by one another.

16. पर मैं कहता हूं, आत्मा के अनुसार चलो, तो तुम शरीर की लालसा किसी रीति से पूरी न करोगे।

16. But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit [responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit]; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).

17. क्योंकि शरीर आत्मा के विरोध में लालसा करती है, और ये एक दूसरे के विरोधी हैं; इसलिये कि जो तुम करना चाहते हो वह न करने पाओ।

17. For the desires of the flesh are opposed to the [Holy] Spirit, and the [desires of the] Spirit are opposed to the flesh (godless human nature); for these are antagonistic to each other [continually withstanding and in conflict with each other], so that you are not free but are prevented from doing what you desire to do.

18. और यदि तुम आत्मा के चलाए चलते हो तो व्यवस्था के आधीन न रहे।

18. But if you are guided (led) by the [Holy] Spirit, you are not subject to the Law.

19. शरीर के काम तो प्रगट हैं, अर्थात् व्यभिचार, गन्दे काम, लुचपन।

19. Now the doings (practices) of the flesh are clear (obvious): they are immorality, impurity, indecency,

20. मूत्ति पूजा, टोना, बैर, झगड़ा, ईर्ष्या, क्रोध, विरोध, फूट, विधर्म।

20. Idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, anger (ill temper), selfishness, divisions (dissensions), party spirit (factions, sects with peculiar opinions, heresies),

21. डाह, मलवालापन, लीलाक्रीड़ा, और इन के ऐसे और और काम हैं, इन के विषय में मैं तुम को पहिले से कह देता हूं जैसा पहिले कह भी चुका हूं, कि ऐसे ऐसे काम करनेवाले परमेश्वर के राज्य के वारिस न होंगे।

21. Envy, drunkenness, carousing, and the like. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

22. पर आत्मा का फल प्रेम, आनन्द, मेल, धीरज,

22. But the fruit of the [Holy] Spirit [the work which His presence within accomplishes] is love, joy (gladness), peace, patience (an even temper, forbearance), kindness, goodness (benevolence), faithfulness,

23. और कृपा, भालाई, विश्वास, नम्रता, और संयम हैं; ऐसे ऐसे कामों के विरोध में कोई व्यवस्था नहीं।

23. Gentleness (meekness, humility), self-control (self-restraint, continence). Against such things there is no law [that can bring a charge].

24. और जो मसीह यीशु के हैं, उन्हों ने शरीर को उस की लालसाओं और अभिलाषों समेत क्रूस पर चढ़ा दिया है।।

24. And those who belong to Christ Jesus (the Messiah) have crucified the flesh (the godless human nature) with its passions and appetites and desires.

25. यदि हम आत्मा के द्वारा जीवित हैं, तो आत्मा के अनुसार चलें भी।

25. If we live by the [Holy] Spirit, let us also walk by the Spirit. [If by the Holy Spirit we have our life in God, let us go forward walking in line, our conduct controlled by the Spirit.]

26. हम घमण्डी होकर न एक दूसरे को छेड़ें, और न ऐ दूसरे से डाह करें।

26. Let us not become vainglorious and self-conceited, competitive and challenging and provoking and irritating to one another, envying and being jealous of one another.
