1. पौलुस की ओर से जो परमेश्वर की इच्छा से यीशु मसीह का प्रेरित होने के लिये बुलाया गया और भाई सोस्थिनेस की ओर से।

1. Paul, a called apostle of Jesus Christ, through God's will, and Sosthenes the brother,

2. परमेश्वर की उस कलीसिया के निाम जो कुरिन्थुस में है, अर्थात् उन के नाम जो मसीह यीशु में पवित्रा किए गए, और पवित्रा होने के लिये बुलाए गए हैं; और उन सब के नाम भी जो हर जगह हमारे और अपने प्रभु यीशु मसीह के नाम की प्रार्थना करते हैं।

2. Unto the assembly of God which is in Corinth, sanctified in Christ Jesus, called saints, with all who call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, in every place, their Lord and ours:

3. हमारे पिता परमेश्वर और प्रभु यीशु मसीह की ओर से तुम्हें अनुग्रह और शान्ति मिलती रहे।।

3. Favour unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and Lord Jesus Christ.

4. मैं तुम्हारे विषय में अपने परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद सदा करता हूं, इसलिये कि परमेश्वर का यह अनुग्रह तुम पर मसीह यीशु में हुआ।

4. I give thanks unto my God, at all times, concerning you, by reason of the favour of God given unto you in Christ Jesus,

5. कि उस में होकर तुम हर बात में अर्थात् सारे वचन और सारे ज्ञान में धनी किए गए।

5. That, in everything, ye have been enriched in him in all discourse and in all knowledge;

6. कि मसीह की गवाही तुम में पक्की निकली।

6. Even as, the witness of the Christ, hath been confirmed in you,

7. यहां तक कि किसी बरदान में तुम्हें घटी नहीं, और तुम हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह के प्रगट होने की बाट जोहते रहते हो।

7. So that ye come short in no gift of favour, ardently awaiting the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ:

8. वह तुम्हें अन्त तक दृढ़ भी करेगा, कि तुम हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह के दिन में निर्दोष ठहरो।

8. Who will also confirm you unto the end, unaccusable in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ :

9. परमेश्वर सच्चा है; जिस ने तुम को अपने पुत्रा हमारे प्रभु यीशु मसीह की संगति में बुलाया है।।

9. Faithful, is God, through whom ye have been called into the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.

10. हे भाइयो, मैं तुम से यीशु मसीह जो हमारा प्रभु है उसके नाम के द्वारा बिनती करता हूं, कि तुम सब एक ही बात कहो; और तुम में फूट न हो, परन्तु एक ही मन और एक ही मत होकर मिले रहो।

10. But I beseech you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, the same thing, ye, all, be saying, and that there be not, among you, divisions; but that ye be fitly joined together in the same mind, and in the same judgment.

11. क्योंकि हे मेरे भाइयों, खलोए के घराने के लोगों ने मुझे तुम्हारे विषय में बताया है, कि तुम में झगड़े हो रहे हैं।

11. For it hath been signified unto me, concerning you, my brethren, by them who are of the household of Chloe, that there are strifes among you,

12. मेरा कहना यह है, कि तुम में से कोई तो अपने आप को पौलुस का, कोई अपुल्लोस का, कोई कैफा का, कोई मसीह का कहता है।

12. Now I mean this, that, each one of you, is saying I, indeed, am of Paul, but, I, of Apollos, but, I, of Cephas, but, I, of Christ:

13. क्या मसीह बट गया? क्या पौलुस तुम्हारे लिये क्रूस पर चढ़ाया गया? या तुम्हें पौलुस के नाम पर बपतिस्मा मिला?

13. The Christ is divided! Was, Paul, crucified for you? Or, into the name of Paul, were ye immersed?

14. मैं परमेश्वर का धन्यवाद करता हूं, कि क्रिस्पुस और गयुस को छोड़, मैं ने तुम में से किसी को भी बपतिस्मा नहीं दिया।

14. I give thanks, that, none of you, did I immerse save Crispus and Gaius,

15. कहीं ऐसा नह हो, कि कोई कहे, कि तुम्हें मेरे नाम पर बपतिस्मा मिला।

15. Lest any should say into my own name, I immersed:

16. और मैं ने स्तिफनास के घराने को भी बपतिस्मा दिया; इन को छोड़, मैं नहीं जानता कि मैं ने और किसी को बपतिस्मा दिया।

16. Yea! I immersed the house of Stephanas also, besides, I know not whether, anyone else, I immersed.

17. क्योंकि मसीह ने मुझे बपतिस्मा देने को नहीं, बरन सुसमाचार सुनाने को भेजा है, और यह भी शब्दों के ज्ञान के अनुसार नहीं, ऐसा न हो कि मसीह का क्रूस व्यर्थ ठहरे।

17. For Christ sent me not, to be immersing, but to be telling the good news, not with wisdom of discourse, lest, void should be made, the cross of the Christ.

18. क्योंकि क्रूस की कथा नाश होनेवालों के निकट मूर्खता है, परन्तु हम उद्धार पानेवालों के निकट परमेश्वर की सामर्थ है।

18. For, the discourse which concerneth the cross, unto them, indeed, who are perishing, is, foolishness; but, unto them who are being saved unto us, it is, God's power.

19. क्योकि लिखा है, कि मैं ज्ञानवानों के ज्ञान को नाश करूंगा, और समझदारों की समझ को तुच्छ कर दूंगा।
यशायाह 29:14

19. For it is written I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and, the discernment of the discerning, will I set aside.

20. कहां रहा ज्ञानवान? कहां रहा शास्त्री? कहां इस संसार का विवादी? क्या परमेश्वर ने संसार के ज्ञान को मूर्खता नहीं ठहराया?
यशायाह 19:12, यशायाह 33:18, यशायाह 44:25

20. Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Hath not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

21. क्योंकि जब परमेश्वर के ज्ञान के अनुसार संसार ने ज्ञान से परमेश्वर को न जाना तो परमेश्वर को यह अच्छा लगा, कि इस प्रकार की मूर्खता के द्वारा विश्वास करनेवालों को उद्धार दे।

21. For, seeing that, in the wisdom of God, the world, through its wisdom, did not get to knew God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the thing proclaimed, to save them that believe.

22. यहूदी तो चिन्ह चाहते हैं, और यूनानी ज्ञान की खोज में हैं।

22. Seeing that both, Jews for signs, do ask, and, Greeks for wisdom, do seek,

23. परन्तु हम तो उस क्रूस पर चढ़ाए हुए मसीह का प्रचार करते हैं जो यहूदियों के निकट ठोकर का कारण, और अन्यजातियों के निकट मूर्खता है।

23. Whereas, we, proclaim a Christ who hath been crucified, unto Jews, indeed, an occasion of stumbling, and, unto Gentiles, foolishness;

24. परन्तु जो बुलाए हुए हैं क्या यहूदी, क्या यूनानी, उन के निकट मसीह परमेश्वर की सामर्थ, और परमेश्वर का ज्ञान है।

24. But, unto the called themselves both Jews and Greeks, Christ, God's power, and, God's wisdom.

25. क्योंकि परमेश्वर की मूर्खता मनुष्यों के ज्ञान से ज्ञानवान है; और परमेश्वर की निर्बलता मनुष्यों के बल से बहुत बलवान है।।

25. Because, God's foolish thing, is, wiser than men, and, God's weak thing, mightier than men.

26. हे भाइयो, अपने बुलाए जाने को तो सोचो, कि न शरीर के अनुसार बहुत ज्ञानवान, और न बहुत सामर्थी, और न बहुत कुलीन बुलाए गए।

26. For be looking at the calling of you, brethren, that there were not many wise, according to flesh. Not many powerful, not many high-born:

27. परन्तु परमेश्वर ने जगत के मूर्खों को चुन लिया है, कि ज्ञानवालों को लज्जित करे; और परमेश्वर ने जगत के निर्बलों को चुन लिया है, कि बलवानों को लज्जित करे।

27. On the contrary the foolish things of the world, hath God chosen, that he might put to shame them who are wise, and, the weak things of the world, hath God chosen, that he might put to shame the things that are mighty,

28. और परमेश्वर ने जगत के नीचों और तुच्छों को, बरन जो हैं भी नहीं उन को भी चुन लिया, कि उन्हें जो हैं, व्यर्थ ठहराए।

28. And, the low-born things of the world, and the things that are despised, hath God chosen, and the things that are not, that, the things that are, he might bring to nought;

29. ताकि कोई प्राणी परमेश्वर के साम्हने घमण्ड न करने पाए।

29. So that no flesh should boast before God.

30. परन्तु उसी की ओर से तुम मसीह यीशु में हो, जो परमेश्वर की ओर से हमारे लिये ज्ञान ठहरा अर्थात् धर्म, और पवित्राता, और छुटकारा।
यिर्मयाह 23:5-6

30. But, of him, are, ye, in Christ Jesus, who hath been made wisdom unto us, from God, both righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

31. ताकि जैसा लिखा है, वैसा ही हो, कि जो घमण्ड करे वह प्रभु में घमण्ड करे।।
यिर्मयाह 9:24

31. In order that, even as it is written He that boasteth, in the Lord, let him boast.
