1. मैं मसीह में सच कहता हूं, झूठ नहीं बोलता और मेरा विवेक भी पवित्रा आत्मा में गवाही देता है।

1. I Say the truth in Christ and lie not, in that whereof my conscience beareth me witness in the holy ghost,

2. कि मुझे बड़ा शोक है, और मेरा मन सदा दुखता रहता है।

2. that I have great heaviness, and continual sorrow in my heart.

3. For I have wished myself to be cursed from Christ for my brethren, which are(and) my kinsmen as pertaining to the flesh.

4. Which are the Israelites, to whom pertaineth the adoption, (of the children) and the glory, and the testaments,(convenants) and the ordinance of the law,(the law that was given) and the service of God, and the promises,

5. पुरखे भी उन्हीं के हैं, और मसीह भी शरीर के भाव से उन्हीं में से हुआ, जो सब के ऊपर परम परमेश्वर युगानुयुग धन्य है। आमीन।

6. I speak not these things as though the words of God had took(taken) none effect. For they are not all Israelites which came of Israel;

7. और न इब्राहीम के वंश होने के कारण सब उस की सन्तान ठहरे, परन्तु (लिखा है) कि इसहाक ही से तेरा वंश कहलाएगा।

7. Neither are they all children straightway because they are the seed of Abraham: But in Isaac shall thy seed be called,

8. अर्थात् शरीर की सन्तान परमेश्वर की सन्तान नहीं, परन्तु प्रतिज्ञा के सन्तान वंश गिने जाते हैं।

8. that is to say; They which are the children of the flesh, are not the children of God. But the children of promise are counted the seed.

9. क्योंकि प्रतिज्ञा का वचन यह है, कि मैं इस समय के अनुसार आऊंगा, और सारा के पुत्रा होगा।

9. For this is a word of promise, about this time will I come, and Sara shall have a son.

10. और केवल यही नहीं, परन्तु जब रिबका भी एक से अर्थात् हमारे पिता इसहाक से गर्भवती थी।

10. Neither was it to with her only: but also when Rebecca was with child by one, I mean(namely) by our father Isaac,

11. और अभी तक न तो बालक जन्मे थे, और न उन्हों ने कुछ भला या बुरा किया था कि उस ने कहा, कि जेठा छुटके का दास होगा।

11. yer the children were born, when they had neither done good neither bad (that the purpose of God which is by election, might stand) it was said unto her, not by the reason(deserving) of works, but by grace of the caller,

12. इसलिये कि परमेश्वर की मनसा जो उसके चुन लेने के अनुसार है, कर्मों के कारण नहीं, परन्तु बुलानेवाले पर बनी रहे।

12. the elder shall serve the younger.(The greater shall serve the less)

13. As it is written: Jacob he loved, but Esau he hated.

14. सो हम क्या कहें? क्या परमेश्वर के यहां अन्याय है? कदापि नहीं!

14. What shall we say then? is there any unrighteousness with God? God forbid.

15. क्योंकि वह मूसा से कहता है, मैं जिस किसी पर दया करना चाहूं, उस पर दया करूंगा, और जिस किसी पर कृपा करना चाहूं उसी पर कृपा करूंगा।

15. For he saith to Moses: I will shew mercy to whom I shew mercy: And will have compassion on whom I have compassion.

16. सो यह न तो चाहनेवाले की, न दौड़नेवाले की परन्तु दया करनेवाले परमेश्वर की बात है।

16. So lieth it not then in a man's will, or running,(cunning) but in the mercy of God.

17. क्योंकि पवित्रा शास्त्रा में फिरौन से कहा गया, कि मैं ने तुझे इसी लिये खड़ा किया है, कि तुझ में अपनी सामर्थ दिखाऊं, और मेरे नाम का प्रचार सारी पृथ्वी पर हो।

17. For the scripture saith unto Pharaoh: Even for this same purpose(this cause) have I stirred thee up, to shew my power on thee, and that my name might be declared thorowout all the world.(declared in all lands)

18. सो वह जिस पर चाहता है, उस पर दया करता है; और जिसे चाहता है, उसे कठोर कर देता है।

18. So hath he mercy on whom he will. And whom he will he maketh hard hearted.(hardeneth)

19. सो तू मुझ से कहेगा, वह फिर क्यों दोष लगाता है? कौन उस की इच्छा का साम्हना करता हैं?

19. Thou wilt say then unto me: why then blameth he us yet? For who can resist his will?

20. हे मनुष्य, भला तू कौन है, जो परमेश्वर का साम्हना करता है? क्या गढ़ी हुई वस्तु गढ़नेवाले से कह सकती है कि तू ने मुझे ऐसा क्यों बनाया है?
यशायाह 29:16, यशायाह 45:9

20. But O man what art thou, which disputest with God? shall the work say to the workman: why hast thou made me on this fashion?

21. क्या कुम्हार को मिट्टी पर अधिकार नहीं, कि एक ही लौंदे मे से, एक बरतन आदर के लिये, और दूसरे को अनादर के लिये बनाए? तो इस में कौन सी अचम्भे की बात है?

21. Hath not the potter power over the clay, even of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

22. कि परमेश्वर ने अपना क्रोध दिखाने और अपनी सामर्थ प्रगट करने की इच्छा से क्रोध के बरतनों की, जो विनाश के लिये तैयार किए गए थे बड़े धीरज से सही।
यशायाह 54:16, यिर्मयाह 50:25

22. Even so, God willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, suffered with long(brought forth with great) patience the vessels of wrath, ordained to damnation,

23. और दया के बरतनों पर जिन्हें उस ने महिमा के लिये पहिले से तैयार किया, अपने महिमा के धन को प्रगट करने की इच्छा की?

23. that he might declare the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had prepared(prepayred) unto glory:

24. अर्थात् हम पर जिन्हें उस ने न केवल यहूदियों में से बरन अन्यजातियों में से भी बुलाया।

24. that is to say, us which he called, not of the jews only, but also of the gentiles.

25. जैसा वह होशे की पुस्तक में भी कहता है, कि जो मेरी प्रजा न थी, उन्हें मैं अपनी प्रजा कहूंगा, और जो प्रिया न थी, उसे प्रिया कहूंगा।
होशे 2:23

25. As he saith in Osee: I will call them my people which were not my people: and her beloved which was not beloved.

26. और ऐसा होगा कि जिस जगह में उन से यह कहा गया था, कि तुम मेरी प्रजा नहीं हो, उसी जगह वे जीवते परमेश्वर की सन्तान कहलाएंगे।
होशे 1:10

26. And it shall come to pass in the place where it was said unto them: Ye are not my people, that there shall be called the sons(children) of the living God.

27. और यशायाह इस्त्राएल के विषय में पुकारकर कहता है, कि चाहे इस्त्राएल की सन्तानों की गिनती समुद्र के बालू के बारबर हो, तौभी उन में से थोड़े ही बचेंगे।
यशायाह 10:22-23

27. But Esaias crieth for(concerning) Israel, though the number of the children of Israel be as the sand of the sea, yet shall a remnant be saved.

28. क्योंकि प्रभु अपना वचन पृथ्वी पर पूरा करके, धार्मिकता से शीघ्र उसे सिद्ध करेगा।
यशायाह 10:22-23

28. He finisheth the work verily and maketh it short in righteousness. For a short word will God make on earth.

29. जैसा यशायाह ने पहिले भी कहा था, कि यदि सेनाओं का प्रभु हमारे लिये कुछ वंश न छोड़ता, तो हम सदोम की नाईं हो जाते, और अमोरा के सरीखे ठहरते।।
यशायाह 1:9

29. And as Esaias said before: Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us seed, we had been made as Zodoma, and had been likened to Gomorra.

30. सो हम क्या कहें? यह कि अन्यजातियों ने जो धार्मिकता की खोज नहीं करते थे, धार्मिकता प्राप्त की अर्थात् उस धार्मिकता को जो विश्वास से है।

30. What shall we say then? we say that the gentiles which followed not righteousness, have overtaken righteousness I mean the righteousness which cometh of faith.

31. परन्तु इस्त्राएली; जो धर्म की व्यवस्था की खोज करते हुए उस व्यवस्था तक नहीं पहुंचे।

31. But Israel which followed the law of righteousness, could not attain unto the law of righteousness.

32. किस लिये? इसलिये कि वे विश्वास से नहीं, परन्तु मानों कर्मों से उस की खोज करते थे: उन्हों ने उस ठोकर के पत्थर पर ठोकर खाई।
यशायाह 8:14

32. And wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith: but as it were by the works of the law.(but as it were out of the deserving of works) For they have stumbled at the stumbling stone.

33. जैसा लिखा है; देखो मैं सिरयोन में एक ठेस लगने का पत्थर, और ठोकर खाने की चटान रखता हूं; और जो उस पर विश्वास करेगा, वह लज्जित न होगा।।
यशायाह 28:16

33. As it is written: Behold I put in Syon a stumbling stone, and a rock which shall make men fall.(to be offended at) And none that believe on him, shall be ashamed.(and who so ever believeth on him, shall not be confounded)
