1. जब भोर हुई, तो सब महायाजकों और लोगों के पुरनियों ने यीशु के मार डालने की सम्मति की।

1. And morning having come, all the chief priests and the elders of the people took counsel against Jesus, so as to put him to death;

2. और उन्हों ने उसे बान्धा और ले जाकर पीलातुस हाकिम के हाथ में सौंप दिया।।

2. and having bound him, they did lead away, and delivered him up to Pontius Pilate, the governor.

3. जब उसके पकड़वानेवाले यहूदा ने देखा कि वह दोषी ठहराया गया है तो वह पछताया और वे तीस चान्दी के सिक्के महायाजकों और पुरनियों के पास फेर लाया।

3. Then Judas -- he who delivered him up -- having seen that he was condemned, having repented, brought back the thirty silverlings to the chief priests, and to the elders, saying,

4. और कहा, मैं ने निर्दोषी को घात के लिये पकड़वाकर पाप किया है? उन्हों ने कहा, हमें क्या? तू ही जान।

4. 'I did sin, having delivered up innocent blood;' and they said, 'What -- to us? thou shalt see!'

5. तब वह उन सिक्कों को मन्दिर में फेंककर चला गया, और जाकर अपने आप को फांसी दी।

5. and having cast down the silverlings in the sanctuary, he departed, and having gone away, he did strangle himself.

6. महायाजकों ने उन सिक्कों को लेकर कहा, इन्हें भण्डार में रखना उचित नहीं, क्योंकि यह लोहू का दाम है।

6. And the chief priests having taken the silverlings, said, 'It is not lawful to put them to the treasury, seeing it is the price of blood;'

7. सो उन्हों ने सम्मति करके उन सिक्कों से परदेशियों के गाड़ने के लिये कुम्हार का खेत मोल ले लिया।

7. and having taken counsel, they bought with them the field of the potter, for the burial of strangers;

8. इस कारण वह खेत आज तक लोहू का खेत कहलाता है।

8. therefore was that field called, 'Field of blood,' unto this day.

9. तब जो वचन यिर्मयाह भविष्यद्वक्ता के द्वारा कहा गया था वह पूरा हुआ; कि उन्हों ने वे तीस सिक्के अर्थात् उस ठहराए हुए मूल्य को (जिसे इस्त्राएल की सन्तान में से कितनों ने ठहराया था) ले लिए।

9. Then was fulfilled that spoken through Jeremiah the prophet, saying, 'And I took the thirty silverlings, the price of him who hath been priced, whom they of the sons of Israel did price,

10. and gave them for the field of the potter, as the Lord did appoint to me.'

11. And Jesus stood before the governor, and the governor did question him, saying, 'Art thou the king of the Jews!' And Jesus said to him, 'Thou sayest.'

12. जब महायाजक और पुरनिए उस पर दोष लगा रहे थे, तो उस ने कुछ उत्तर नहीं दिया।
यशायाह 53:7

12. And in his being accused by the chief priests and the elders, he did not answer any thing,

13. इस पर पीलातुस ने उस से कहा: क्या तू नहीं सुनता, कि ये तेरे विरोध में कितनी गवाहियां दे रहे हैं?

13. then saith Pilate to him, 'Dost thou not hear how many things they witness against thee?'

14. परन्तु उस ने उस को एक बात का भी उत्तर नहीं दिया, यहां तक कि हाकिम को बड़ा आश्चर्य हुआ।

14. And he did not answer him, not even to one word, so that the governor did wonder greatly.

15. और हाकिम की यह रीति थी, कि उस पर्व्व में लोगों के लिये किसी एक बन्धुए को जिसे वे चाहते थे, छोड़ देता था।

15. And at the feast the governor had been accustomed to release one to the multitude, a prisoner, whom they willed,

16. उस समय बरअब्बा नाम उन्हीं में का एक नामी बन्धुआ था।

16. and they had then a noted prisoner, called Barabbas,

17. सो जब वे इकट्ठे हुए, तो पीलातुस ने उन से कहा; तुम किस को चाहते हो, कि मैं तुम्हारे लिये छोड़ दूं? बरअब्बा को, या यीशु को जो मसीह कहलाता है?

17. they therefore having been gathered together, Pilate said to them, 'Whom will ye I shall release to you? Barabbas or Jesus who is called Christ?'

18. क्योंकि वह जानता था कि उन्हों ने उसे डाह से पकड़वाया है।

18. for he had known that because of envy they had delivered him up.

19. जब वह न्याय की गद्दी पर बैठा हुआ था तो उस की पत्नी ने उसे कहला भेजा, कि तू उस धर्मी के मामले में हाथ न डालना; क्योंकि मैं ने आज स्वप्न में उसके कारण बहुत दुख उठाया है।

19. And as he is sitting on the tribunal, his wife sent unto him, saying, 'Nothing -- to thee and to that righteous one, for many things did I suffer to-day in a dream because of him.'

20. महायाजकों और पुरनियों ने लोगों को उभारा, कि वे बरअब्बा को मांग ले, और यीशु को नाश कराएं।

20. And the chief priests and the elders did persuade the multitudes that they might ask for themselves Barabbas, and might destroy Jesus;

21. हाकिम ने उन से पूछा, कि इन दोनों में से किस को चाहते हो, कि तुम्हारे लिये छोड़ दूं? उन्हों ने कहा; बरअब्बा को।

21. and the governor answering said to them, 'Which of the two will ye [that] I shall release to you?' And they said, 'Barabbas.'

22. पीलातुस ने उन से पूछा; फिर यीशु को जो मसीह कहलाता है, क्या करूं? सब ने उस से कहा, वह क्रूस पर चढ़ाया जाए।

22. Pilate saith to them, 'What then shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?' They all say to him, 'Let be crucified!'

23. हाकिम ने कहा; क्यों उस ने क्या बुराई की है? परन्तु वे और भी चिल्ला, चिल्लाकर कहने लगे, 'वह क्रूस पर चढ़ाया जाए'।

23. And the governor said, 'Why, what evil did he?' and they were crying out the more, saying, 'Let be crucified.'

24. जब पीलातुस ने देखा, कि कुछ बन नहीं पड़ता परन्तु इस के विपरीत हुल्लड़ होता जाता है, तो उस ने पानी लेकर भीड़ के साम्हने अपने हाथ धोए, और कहा; मैं इस धर्मी के लोहू से निर्दोष हूं; तुम ही जानो।

24. And Pilate having seen that it profiteth nothing, but rather a tumult is made, having taken water, he did wash the hands before the multitude, saying, 'I am innocent from the blood of this righteous one; ye -- ye shall see;'

25. सब लोगों ने उत्तर दिया, कि इस का लोहू हम पर और हमारी सन्तान पर हो।

25. and all the people answering said, 'His blood [is] upon us, and upon our children!'

26. Then did he release to them Barabbas, and having scourged Jesus, he delivered [him] up that he may be crucified;

27. तब हाकिम के सिपाहियों ने यीशु को किले में ले जाकर सारी पलटन उसके चहुं ओर इकट्ठी की।

27. then the soldiers of the governor having taken Jesus to the Praetorium, did gather to him all the band;

28. और उसके कपड़े उतारकर उसे किरमिजी बागा पहिनाया।

28. and having unclothed him, they put around him a crimson cloak,

29. और काटों को मुकुट गूंथकर उसके सिर पर रखा; और उसके दहिने हाथ में सरकण्डा दिया और उसके आगे घुटने टेककर उसे ठट्ठे में उड़ाने लगे, कि हे यहूदियों के राज नमस्कार।

29. and having plaited him a crown out of thorns they put [it] on his head, and a reed in his right hand, and having kneeled before him, they were mocking him, saying, 'Hail, the king of the Jews.'

30. और उस पर थूका; और वही सरकण्डा लेकर उसके सिर पर मारने लगे।
यशायाह 50:6

30. And having spit on him, they took the reed, and were smiting on his head;

31. जब वे उसका ठट्ठा कर चुके, तो वह बागा उस पर से उतारकर फिर उसी के कपड़े उसे पहिनाए, और क्रूस पर चढ़ाने के लिये ले चले।।

31. and when they had mocked him, they took off from him the cloak, and put on him his own garments, and led him away to crucify [him].

32. बाहर जाते हुए उन्हें शमौन नाम एक कुरेनी मनुष्य मिला, उन्होंने उसे बेगार में पकड़ा कि उसका क्रूस उठा ले चले।

32. And coming forth, they found a man, a Cyrenian, by name Simon: him they impressed that he might bear his cross;

33. और उस स्थान पर जो गुलगुता नाम की जगह अर्थात् खोपड़ी का स्थान कहलाता है पहुंचकर।

33. and having come to a place called Golgotha, that is called Place of a Skull,

34. उन्हों ने पित्त मिलाया हुआ दाखरस उसे पीने को दिया, परन्तु उस ने चखकर पीना न चाहा।

34. they gave him to drink vinegar mixed with gall, and having tasted, he would not drink.

35. तब उन्हों ने उसे क्रूस पर चढ़ाया; और चिटि्ठयां डालकर उसके कपड़े बांट लिए।

35. And having crucified him, they divided his garments, casting a lot, that it might be fulfilled that was spoken by the prophet, 'They divided my garments to themselves, and over my vesture they cast a lot;'

36. and sitting down, they were watching him there,

37. और उसका दोषपत्रा, उसके सिर के ऊपर लगाया, कि 'यह यहूदियों का राजा यीशु है'।

37. and they put up over his head, his accusation written, 'This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.'

38. तब उसके साथ दो डाकू एक दहिने और एक बाएं क्रूसों पर चढ़ाए गए।

38. Then crucified with him are two robbers, one on the right hand, and one on the left,

39. and those passing by were speaking evil of him, wagging their heads,

40. और यह कहते थे, कि हे मन्दिर के ढानेवाले और तीन दिन में बनानेवाले, अपने आप को तो बचा; यदि तू परमेश्वर का पुत्रा है, तो क्रूस पर से उतर आ।

40. and saying, 'Thou that art throwing down the sanctuary, and in three days building [it], save thyself; if Son thou art of God, come down from the cross.'

41. इसी रीति से महायाजक भी शास्त्रियों और पुरनियों समेत ठट्ठा कर करके कहते थे, इस ने औरों को बचाया, और अपने को नहीं बचा सकता।

41. And in like manner also the chief priests mocking, with the scribes and elders, said,

42. यह तो 'इस्राएल का राजा है'। अब क्रूस पर से उतर आए, तो हम उस पर विश्वास करें।

42. 'Others he saved; himself he is not able to save! If he be King of Israel, let him come down now from the cross, and we will believe him;

43. उस ने परमेश्वर का भरोसा रखा है, यदि वह इस को चाहता है, तो अब इसे छुड़ा ले, क्योंकि इस ने कहा था, कि 'मैं परमेश्वर का पुत्रा हूं'।

43. he hath trusted on God, let Him now deliver him, if He wish him, because he said -- Son of God I am;'

44. इसी प्रकार डाकू भी जो उसके साथ क्रूसों पर चढ़ाए गए थे उस की निन्दा करते थे।।

44. with the same also the robbers, who were crucified with him, were reproaching him.

45. दोपहर से लेकर तीसरे पहर तक उस सारे देश में अन्धेरा छाया रहा।
आमोस 8:9

45. And from the sixth hour darkness came over all the land unto the ninth hour,

46. तीसरे पहर के निकट यीशु ने बड़े शब्द से पुकारकर कहा, एली, एली, लमा शबक्तनी? अर्थात् हे मेरे परमेश्वर, हे मेरे परमेश्वर, तू ने मुझे क्यों छोड़ दिया?

46. and about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a great voice, saying, 'Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?' that is, 'My God, my God, why didst Thou forsake me?'

47. जो वहां खड़े थे, उन में से कितनों ने यह सुनकर कहा, वह तो एलिरयाह को पुकारता है।

47. And certain of those standing there having heard, said -- 'Elijah he doth call;'

48. उन में से एक तुरन्त दौड़ा, और स्पंज लेकर सिरके में डुबोया, और सरकण्डे पर रखकर उसे चुसाया।

48. and immediately, one of them having run, and having taken a spunge, having filled [it] with vinegar, and having put [it] on a reed, was giving him to drink,

49. औरों ने कहा, रह जाओ, देखें, एलिरयाह उसे बचाने आता है कि नहीं।

49. but the rest said, 'Let alone, let us see if Elijah doth come -- about to save him.'

50. तब यीशु ने फिर बड़े शब्द से चिल्लाकर प्राण छोड़ दिए।

50. And Jesus having again cried with a great voice, yielded the spirit;

51. और देखो मन्दिर का परदा ऊपर से नीचे तक फट कर दो टुकड़े हो गया: और धरती डोल गई और चटानें तड़कर गईं।

51. and lo, the vail of the sanctuary was rent in two from top unto bottom, and the earth did quake, and the rocks were rent,

52. और कब्रें खुल गईं; और सोए हुए पवित्रा लोगों की बहुत लोथें जी उठीं।

52. and the tombs were opened, and many bodies of the saints who have fallen asleep, arose,

54. And the centurion, and those with him watching Jesus, having seen the earthquake, and the things that were done, were exceedingly afraid, saying, 'Truly this was God's Son.'

55. वहां बहुत सी स्त्रियां जो गलील से यीशु की सेवा करती हुईं उसके साथ आईं थीं, दूर से देख रही थीं।

55. And there were there many women beholding from afar, who did follow Jesus from Galilee, ministering to him,

56. उन में मरियम मगदलीली और याकूब और योसेस की माता मरियम और जब्दी के पुत्रों की माता थीं।

56. among whom was Mary the Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and of Joses, and the mother of the sons of Zebedee.

57. जब सांझ हुई तो यूसुफ नाम अरिमतियाह का एक धनी मनुष्य जो आप ही यीशु का चेला था आया: उस ने पीलातुस के पास जाकर यीशु की लोथ मांगी।

57. And evening having come, there came a rich man, from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also himself was discipled to Jesus,

58. he having gone near to Pilate, asked for himself the body of Jesus; then Pilate commanded the body to be given back.

59. And having taken the body, Joseph wrapped it in clean linen,

60. और उसे अपनी नई कब्र में रखा, जो उस ने चटान में खुदवाई थी, और कब्र के द्वार पर बड़ा पत्थर लुढ़काकर चला गया।

60. and laid it in his new tomb, that he hewed in the rock, and having rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb, he went away;

61. और मरियम मगदलीनी और दूसरी मरियम वहां कब्र के साम्हने बैठी थीं।।

61. and there were there Mary the Magdalene, and the other Mary, sitting over-against the sepulchre.

62. दूसरे दिन जो तैयारी के दिन के बाद का दिन था, महायाजकों और फरीसियों ने पीलातुस के पास इकट्ठे होकर कहा।

62. And on the morrow that is after the preparation, were gathered together the chief priests, and the Pharisees, unto Pilate,

63. हे महाराज, हमें स्मरण है, कि उस भरमानेवाले ने अपने जीते जी कहा था, कि मैं तीन दिन के बाद जी उठूंगा।

63. saying, 'Sir, we have remembered that that deceiver said while yet living, After three days I do rise;

64. सो आज्ञा दे कि तीसरे दिन तक कब्र की रखवाली की जाए, ऐसा न हो कि उसके चेले आकर उसे चुरा ले जाएं, और लोगों से कहनें लगें, कि वह मरे हुओं में से जी उठा है: तब पिछला धोखा पहिले से भी बुरा होगा।

64. command, then, the sepulchre to be made secure till the third day, lest his disciples, having come by night, may steal him away, and may say to the people, He rose from the dead, and the last deceit shall be worse than the first.'

65. पीलातुस ने उन से कहा, तुम्हारे पास पहरूए तो हैं जाओ, अपनी समझ के अनुसार रखवाली करो।

65. And Pilate said to them, 'Ye have a watch, go away, make secure -- as ye have known;'

66. सो वे पहरूओं को साथ ले कर गए, और पत्थर पर मुहर लगाकर कब्र की रखवाली की।।

66. and they, having gone, did make the sepulchre secure, having sealed the stone, together with the watch.
