1. क्योंकि देखो, वह धधकते भट्ठे का सा दिन आता है, जब सब अभिमानी और सब दुराचारी लोग अनाज की खूंटी बन जाएंगे; और उस आनेवाले दिन में वे ऐसे भस्म हो जाएंगे कि उनका पता तक न रहेगा, सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।

1. 'You can be sure the day of the Lord is coming. My anger will burn like a furnace. All those who are proud will be like straw. So will all those who do what is evil. The day that is coming will set them on fire,' says the Lord who rules over all. 'Not even a root or a branch will be left to them.

2. परन्तु तुम्हारे लिये जो मेरे नाम का भय मानते हो, धर्म का सूर्य उदय होगा, और उसकी किरणों के द्वारा तुम चंगे हो जाओगे; और तुम निकलकर पाले हुए बछड़ों की नाई कूदोगे और फांदोगे।

2. 'But here is what will happen for you who have respect for me. The sun that brings life will rise. Its rays will bring healing to my people. You will go out and leap like calves that have just been let out of the barn.

3. तब तुम दुष्टों को लताड़ डालोगे, अर्थात्मेरे उस ठहराए हुए दिन में वे तुम्हारे पांवों के नीचे की राख बन जाएंगे, सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।।

3. 'Then you will stomp on sinful people. They will be like ashes under your feet. That will happen on the day I act,' says the Lord.

4. मेरे दास मूसा की व्यवस्था अर्थात् जो जो विधि और नियम मैं ने सारे इ एलियों के लिये उसको होरेब में दिए थे, उनको स्मरण रखो।।

4. 'Remember the law my servant Moses gave you. Remember the rules and laws I gave him at Mount Horeb. They were for the whole nation of Israel.

5. देखो, यहोवा के उस बड़े और भयानक दिन के आने से पहिले, मैं तुम्हारे पास एलिरयाह नबी को भेजूंगा।

5. 'I will send you the prophet Elijah. He will come before the day of the Lord arrives. It will be a great and terrifying day.

6. और वह माता पिता के मन को उनके पुत्रों की ओर, और पुत्रों के मन को उनके माता- पिता की ओर फेरेगा; ऐसा न हो कि मैं आकर पृथ्वी को सत्यानाश करूं।।

6. Elijah will teach parents how to love their children. He will also teach children how to honor their parents. If that does not happen, I will come. And I will put a curse on the land.'
