1. मलाकी के द्वारा इस्राएल के विषय में कहा हुआ यहोवा का भारी वचन।।

1. A Message. GOD's Word to Israel through Malachi:

2. यहोवा यह कहता है, मैं ने तुम से प्रेम किया है, परन्तु तुम पूछते हो, तू ने किस बात में हम से प्रेम किया है? यहोवा की यह वाणी है, क्या एसाव याकूब का भाई न था?

2. GOD said, 'I love you.' You replied, 'Really? How have you loved us?' 'Look at history' (this is GOD's answer). 'Look at how differently I've treated you, Jacob, from Esau: I loved Jacob

3. तौभी मैं ने याकूब से प्रेम किया परन्तु एसाव को अप्रिय जानकर उसके पहाड़ों को उजाड़ डाला, और उसकी बपौती को जंगल के गीदड़ों का कर दिया है।

3. and hated Esau. I reduced pretentious Esau to a molehill, turned his whole country into a ghost town.'

4. एदोम कहता है, हमारा देश उजड़ गया है, परन्तु हम खण्डहरों को फिरकर बसाएंगे; सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है, यदि वे बनाए भी, परन्तु मैं ढा दूंगा; उनका नाम दुष्ट जाति पड़ेगा, और वे ऐसे लोग कहलाएंगे जि पर यहोवा सदैव क्रोधित रहे।

4. When Edom (Esau) said, 'We've been knocked down, but we'll get up and start over, good as new,' GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies said, 'Just try it and see how far you get. When I knock you down, you stay down. People will take one look at you and say, 'Land of Evil!' and 'the GOD-cursed tribe!'

5. तुम्हारी आंखे इसे देखेंगी, और तुम कहोगे, यहोवा का प्रताप इस्राएल के सिवाने की परली ओर भी बढ़ता जाए।।

5. 'Yes, take a good look. Then you'll see how faithfully I've loved you and you'll want even more, saying, 'May GOD be even greater, beyond the borders of Israel!'

6. पुत्रा पिता का, और दास स्वामी का आदर करता है। यदि मैं पिता हूं, तो मेरा आदर मानना कहां है? और यदि मैं स्वामी हूं, तो मेरा भय मानना कहां? सेनाओं का यहोवा, तुम याजकों से भी जो मेरे नाम का अपमान करते हो यही बात पूछता है। परन्तु तुम पूछते हो, हम ने किस बात में तेरे नाम का अपमान किया है? तुम मेरी वेदी पर अशुद्ध भोजन चढ़ाते हो।

6. 'Isn't it true that a son honors his father and a worker his master? So if I'm your Father, where's the honor? If I'm your Master, where's the respect?' GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies is calling you on the carpet: 'You priests despise me! 'You say, 'Not so! How do we despise you?' 'By your shoddy, sloppy, defiling worship. 'You ask, 'What do you mean, 'defiling'? What's defiling about it?'

7. तौभी तुम पूछते हो कि हम किस बात में तुझे अशुद्ध ठहराते हैं? इस बात में भी, कि तुम कहते हो, यहोवा की मेज तुच्छ है।

7. 'When you say, 'The altar of GOD is not important anymore; worship of GOD is no longer a priority,' that's defiling.

8. जब तुम अन्धे पशु को बलि करने के लिये समीप ले आते हो तो क्या यह बुरा नहीं? और जब तुम लंगड़े वा रोगी पशु को ले आते हो, तो क्या यह बुरा नहीं? अपने हाकिम के पास ऐसी भेंट ले आओ; क्या वह तुम से प्रसन्न होगा वा तुम पर अनुग्रह करेगा? सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।।

8. And when you offer worthless animals for sacrifices in worship, animals that you're trying to get rid of--blind and sick and crippled animals--isn't that defiling? Try a trick like that with your banker or your senator--how far do you think it will get you?' GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies asks you.

9. और अब मैं तुम से कहता हूं, ईश्वर से प्रार्थना करो कि वह हम लोगों पर अनुग्रह करे। यह तुम्हारे हाथ से हुआ है; तब कया तुम समझते हो कि परमेश्वर तुम में से किसी का पक्ष करेगा? सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।

9. 'Get on your knees and pray that I will be gracious to you. You priests have gotten everyone in trouble. With this kind of conduct, do you think I'll pay attention to you?' GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies asks you.

10. भला होता कि तुम में से कोई मन्दिर के किवाड़ों को बन्द करता कि तुम मेरी वेदी पर व्यर्थ आग जलाने न पाते! सेनाओं के यहोवा का यह वचन है, मैं तुम से कदापि प्रसन्न नहीं हूं, और न तुम्हारे हाथ से भेंट ग्रहण करूंगा।

10. 'Why doesn't one of you just shut the Temple doors and lock them? Then none of you can get in and play at religion with this silly, empty-headed worship. I am not pleased. The GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies is not pleased. And I don't want any more of this so-called worship!

11. क्योंकि उदयाचल से लेकर अस्ताचल तक अन्यजातियों में मेरा नाम महान है, और हर कहीं मेरे नाम पर धूप और शुद्ध भेंट चढ़ाई जाती है; क्योंकि अन्यजातियों में मेरा नाम महान है, सेनाओं का यही वचन है।

11. 'I am honored all over the world. And there are people who know how to worship me all over the world, who honor me by bringing their best to me. They're saying it everywhere: 'God is greater, this GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies.'

12. परन्तु तुम लोग उसको यह कहकर अपवित्रा ठहराते हो कि यहोवा की मेज अशुद्ध है, और जो भोजनवस्तु उस पर से मिलती है वह भी तुच्छ है।

12. 'All except you. Instead of honoring me, you profane me. You profane me when you say, 'Worship is not important, and what we bring to worship is of no account,'

13. फिर तुम यह भी कहते हो, कि यह कैसा बड़ा उपद्रव है! सेनाओं के यहोवा का यह वचन है। तुम ने उस भोजनवस्तु के प्रति नाक भौं सिकोड़ी, और अत्याचार से प्राप्त किए हुए और लंगड़े और रोगी पशु की भेंट ले आते हो! क्या मैं ऐसी भेंट तुम्हारे हाथ से ग्रहण करूं? यहोवा का यही वचन है।

13. and when you say, 'I'm bored--this doesn't do anything for me.' You act so superior, sticking your noses in the air--act superior to me, GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies! And when you do offer something to me, it's a hand-me-down, or broken, or useless. Do you think I'm going to accept it? This is GOD speaking to you!

14. जिस छली के झुण्ड में नरपशु हो परन्तु वह मन्नत मानकर परमेश्वर को बर्जा हुआ पशु चढ़ाए, वह शापित है; मैं तो महाराजा हूं, और मेरा नाम अन्यजातियों में भययोग्य है, सेनाओं के यहोवा का यही वचन है।।

14. 'A curse on the person who makes a big show of doing something great for me--an expensive sacrifice, say--and then at the last minute brings in something puny and worthless! I'm a great king, GOD-of-the-Angel-Armies, honored far and wide, and I'll not put up with it!
