1. उसी समय दाऊद के घराने और यरूशलेम के निवासियों के लिये पाप और मलिनता धोने के निमित्त एक बहता हुआ सोता होगा।।

1. In that day, there shall be an opened fountain, for the house of David, and for the Inhabitants of Jerusalem, for sin and for uncleanness.

2. और सेनाओं के यहोवा की यह वाणी है, कि उस समय मैं इस देश मे से मूर्तो के नाम मिटा डालूंगा, और वे फिर स्मरण में न रहेंगी; और मैं भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और अशुद्ध आत्मा को इस देश में से निकाल दूंगा।

2. And it shall come to pass, in that day, declareth Yahweh of hosts, That I will cut off the names of idols out of the land, and they shall not be remembered any more, Moreover also, even the prophets and the spirit of impurity, will I cause to pass away out of the land.

3. और यदि कोई फिर भविष्यद्वााणी करे, तो उसके माता- पिता, जिन से वह उत्पन्न हुआ, उस से कहेंगे, तू जीवित न बचेगा, क्योंकि तू ने यहोवा के नाम से झूठ कहा है; सो जब वह भविष्यद्वाणी करे, तब उसके माता- पिता जिन से वह उत्पन्न हुआ उसको बेध डालेंगे।

3. So shall it come about that, when any man shall prophesy again, then will his own father and his own mother, of whom he was born, say unto him, Thou shalt not live! For falsehood hast thou spoken in the name of Yahweh, So will his own father and his own mother of whom he was born, pierce him through, when he prophesieth,

4. उस समय हर एक भविष्यद्वक्ता भविष्यवाणी करते हुए अपने अपने दर्शन से लज्जित होंगे, और धोखा देने के लिये कम्बल का वस्त्रा न पहिनेंगे,

4. Yea it shall come to pass, in that day, that the prophets, will turn pale, every man by reason of his vision when he prophesieth, neither will they put on a mantle of hair to deceive.

5. वरन्तु वह कहेगा, मैं भविष्यद्वक्ता नहीं, किसान हूं; क्योंकि लड़कपन ही से मैं औरों का दास हूं।

5. But he will say, No prophet, am I, One tilling the ground, am I, for, one of the common people, hath owned me from my youth.

6. तब उस से यह पूछा जाएगा, तेरी छाती पर ये घाव कैसे हुए, तब वह कहेगा, ये वे ही हैं जो मेरे प्रेमियों के घर में मुझे लगे हैं।।

6. Then will one say unto him, What are these wounds between thy hands? And he will say, Wherewith I was wounded in the house of them who loved me.

7. सेनाओं के यहोवा की यह वाणी है, हे तलवार, मेरे ठहराए हुए चरवाहे के विरूद्ध अर्थात् जो पुरूष मेरा स्वजाति है, उसके विरूद्ध चल। तू उस चरवाहे को काट, तब भेड़- बकरियां तितर- बितर हो जाएंगी; और बच्चों पर मैं अपने हाथ बढ़ाऊंगा।

7. O Sword! awake against my shepherd, even against the man that is my companion, urgeth Yahweh of hosts, Smite the shepherd, and let the flock, be scattered, Howbeit I will turn back my hand over the little ones.

8. यहोवा की यह भी वाणी है, कि इस देश के सारे निवासियों की दो तिहाई मार डाली जाएगाी और बची हुई तिहाई उस में बनी रहेगी।

8. And it shall come to pass, in all the land, declareth Yahweh, Two-thirds therein, shall be cut off, and expire, but, a third, shall be left therein;

9. उस तिहाई को मैं आग में डालकर ऐसा निर्मल करूंगा, जैसा रूपा निर्मल किया जाता है, और ऐसा जाचूंगा जैसा सोना जांचा जाता है। वे मुझ से प्रार्थना किया करेंगे, और मैं उनकी सुनूंगा। मैं उनके विषय में कहूंगा, ये मेरी प्रजा हैं, और वे मेरे विषय में कहेंगे, यहोवा हमारा परमेश्वर है।।

9. And I will bring the third into the fire, and will smelt them as one smelteth silver, and will try them, as one trieth gold, It, will call upon my name, and, I, will answer it, and will say, My people, it is! and, it, will say, Yahweh, is my God!
