1. फारस देश के राजा कु ू के राज्य के तीसरे वर्ष में दानिरयेल पर, जो बेलतशस्सर भी कहलाता है, एक बात प्रगट की गई। और वह बात सच थी कि बड़ा युद्ध होगा। उस ने इस बात को बूझ लिया, और उसको इस देखी हुई बात की समझ आ गई।।

1. In the third year that Cyrus was the king of Persia, some news was made known to Daniel (who was called Belteshazzar). The news was true and it was about a battle. He received understanding of the news in a special dream.

2. उन दिनों मैं, दानिरयेल, तीन सप्ताह तक शोक करता रहा।

2. In those days, I, Daniel, had been full of sorrow for three weeks.

3. उन तीन सप्ताहों के पूरे होने तक, मैं ने न तो स्वादिष्ट भोजन किया और न मांस वा दाखमधु अपने मुंह में रखा, और न अपनी देह में कुछ भी तेल लगाया।

3. I did not eat any fine food, and no meat or wine came into my mouth. And I did not use any oil at all, until the three weeks were finished.

4. फिर पहिले महिने के चौबीसवें दिन को जब मैं हि :केल नाम नबी के तीर पर था,

4. On the twentyfourth day of the first month, I was standing by the side of the wide Tigris River.

5. तब मैं ने आंखें उठाकर देखा, कि सन का वस्त्रा पहिने हुए, और ऊफाज देश के कुन्दन से कमर बान्धे हुए एक पुरूष खड़ा है।

5. I looked up and saw a certain man dressed in linen. Around him was a belt of fine gold.

6. His body was like shining stone. His face looked like lightning. His eyes were like fire. His arms and feet were like shining brass. And his voice was like the noise of many people.

7. I, Daniel, was the only one who saw the special dream. The men who were with me did not see it. But they were filled with much fear, and ran away to hide themselves.

8. तब मैं अकेला रहकर यह अद्भुत दर्शन देखता रहा, इस से मेरा बल जाता रहा; मैं भयातुर हो गया, और मुझ में कुछ भी बल न रहा।

8. So I was left alone and saw this special dream. I had no strength left. My skin color turned white as if I were dead, and there was no strength left in me.

9. तौभी मैं ने उस पुरूष के वचनों का शब्द सुना, और जब वह मुझे सुन पड़ा तब मैं मुंह के बल गिर गया और गहरी नींद में भूमि पर औंधे मुंह पड़ा रहा।।

9. Then I heard the sound of his words. And as soon as I heard him speak, I fell into a deep sleep with my face to the ground.

10. फिर किसी ने अपने हाथ से मेरी देह को छुआ, और मुझे उठाकर घुटनों और हथेलियों के बल थरथराते हुए बैठा दिया।

10. Then a hand touched me and I shook with fear on my hands and knees.

11. तब उस ने मुझ से कहा, हे दानिरयेल, हे अति प्रिय पुरूष, जो वचन मैं तुझ से कहता हूं उसे समझ ले, और सीधा खड़ा हो, क्योंकि मैं अभी तेरे पास भेजा गया हूं। जब उस ने मुझ से यह वचन कहा, तब मैं खड़ा तो हो गया परन्तु थरथराता रहा।

11. And he said to me, 'O Daniel, you who are loved very much, understand what I am about to tell you, and stand up. For I have now been sent to you.' When he said this to me, I stood up shaking in fear.

12. फिर उस ने मुझ से कहा, हे दानिरयेल, मत डर, क्योंकि पहिले ही दिन को जब तू ने समझने- बूझने के लिये मन लगाया और अपने परमेश्वर के साम्हने अपने को दीन किया, उसी दिन तेरे वचन सुने गए, और मैं तेरे वचनों के कारण आ गया हूं।

12. Then he said to me, 'Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind on understanding and getting rid of your pride before your God, your words were heard. And I have come because of your words.

13. But the ruler of Persia stood against me for twenty-one days. Then Michael, one of the leading princes of honor, came to help me, because I had been left there with the king of Persia.

14. और जब मैं तुझे समझाने आया हूं, कि अन्त के दिनों में तेरे लोगों की क्या दशा होगी। क्योंकि जो दर्शन तू ने देखा है, वह कुछ दिनों के बाद पूरा होगा।।

14. Now I have come to help you understand what will happen to your people in the last days. For the special dream is about the days yet to come.'

15. जब वह पुरूष मुझ से ऐसी बातें कह चुका, तब मैं ने भूमि की ओर मुंह किया और चुपका रह गया।

15. When he had said this to me, I turned my face toward the ground and could not speak.

16. तब मनुष्य के सन्तान के समान किसी ने मेरे ओंठ छुए, और मैं मुंह खोलकर बालने लगा। और जो मेरे साम्हने खड़ा था, उस से मैं ने कहा, हे मेरे प्रभु, दर्शन की बातों के कारण मुझ को पीड़ा सी उठी, और मुझ में कुछ भी बल नहीं रहा।

16. Then one who looked like a man touched my lips, and I opened my mouth and spoke. I said to him who was standing in front of me, 'O my lord, pain has come to me because of the special dream, and I have no strength left.

17. सो प्रभु का दास, अपने प्रभु के साथ क्योंकर बातें कर सके? क्योंकि मेरी देह में ने तो कुछ बल रहा, और न कुछ सांस ही रह गई।।

17. How can I, your servant, talk with you, my lord? My strength is gone and no breath is left in me.'

18. तब मनुष्य के समान किसी ने मुझे छूकर फिर मेरा हियाव बन्धाया।

18. Then the one who looked like a man touched me again and gave me strength.

19. और उस ने कहा, हे अति प्रिय पुरूष, मत डर, तुझे शान्ति मिले; तू दृढ़ हो और तेरा हियाव बन्धा रहे। जब उस ने यह कहा, तब मैं ने हियाव बान्धकर कहा, हे मेरे प्रभु, अब कह, क्योंकि तू ने मेरा हियाव बन्धाया है।

19. He said, 'O man who is loved very much, do not be afraid. May peace be with you. Be strong and have strength of heart.' And when he had spoken to me, I received strength, and said, 'May my lord speak, for you have given me strength.'

20. तब उस ने कहा, क्या तू जानता है कि मैं किस कारण तेरे पास आया हूं? अब मैं फारस के प्रधार से लडने को लौंटृंगा; और जब मैं निकलूंगा, तब यूनाना का प्रधान आएगा।

20. He said, 'Do you understand why I have come to you? Soon I will return to fight against the ruler of Persia. And when I go, the ruler of Greece will come.

21. और जो कुछ सच्ची बातों से भरी हुई पुस्तक में लिखा हुआ है, वह मैं तुझे बताता हूं; उन प्रधानों के विरूद्ध, तुम्हारे प्रधान मीकाएल को छोड़, मेरे संग स्थिर रहनेवाला और कोई भी नहीं है।।

21. But first I will tell you what is written in the Book of Truth. (No one helps me against these rulers except Michael, your leading angel.
