1. योशिरयाह के पुत्रा यहूदा के राजा यहोयाकीम के राजय के आरम्भ में, यहोवा की ओर से यह वचन पहुंचा, यहोवा यों कहता है,

1. In the beginning of the reigne of Iehoiakim the sonne of Iosiah King of Iudah, came this worde from the Lord, saying,

2. यहोवा के भवन के आंगन में खड़ा होकर, यहूदा के सब नगरों के लोगों के साम्हने जो यहोवा के भवन में दण्डवत् करने को आएं, ये वचन जिनके विषय उन से कहने की आज्ञा मैं तुझे देता हूँ कह दे; उन में से कोई वचन मत रख छोड़।

2. Thus saith the Lord, Sande in the court of the Lordes House, and speake vnto all the cities of Iudah, which come to worshippe in the Lords House, all the wordes that I commaund thee to speake vnto them: keepe not a worde backe,

3. सम्भव है कि वे सुनकर अपनी अपनी बुरी चाल से फिरें और मैं उनकी हानि करने से पछताऊं जो उनके बुरे कामों के कारण मैं ने ठाना था।

3. If so be they will hearken, and turne euery man from his euill way, that I may repent me of the plague, which I haue determined to bring vpon them, because of the wickednesse of their workes.

4. इसलिये तू उन से कह, यहोवा यों कहता है, यदि तुम मेरी सुनकर मेरी व्यवस्था के अनुसार जो मैं ने तुम को सुनवा दी है न चलो,

4. And thou shalt say vnto them, Thus saith the Lord, If ye will not heare me to walke in my Lawes, which I haue set before you,

5. और न मेरे दास भविष्यद्वक्ताओं के वचनों पर कान लगाओगे, (जिन्हें मैं तुम्हारे पास बड़ा यत्न करके भेजता आया हूँ, परन्तु तुम ने उनकी नहीं सुनी),

5. And to heare ye wordes of my seruants the Prophets, whome I sent vnto you, both rising vp earely, and sending them, and will not obey them,

6. तो मैं इस भवन को शीलो के समान उजाड़ दूंगा, और इस नगर का ऐसा सत्यानाश कर दूंगा कि पृथ्वी की सारी जातियों के लोग उसकी उपमा दे देकर शाप दिया करेंगे।

6. Then will I make this House like Shiloh, and will make this citie a curse to all the nations of the earth.

7. जब यिर्मयाह ये वचन यहोवा के भवन में कह रहा था, तब याजक और भविष्यद्वक्ता और सब साधारण लोग सुन रहे थे।

7. So the Priestes, and the Prophets, and all the people heard Ieremiah speaking these wordes in the House of the Lord.

8. और जब यिर्मयाह सब कुछ जिसे सारी प्रजा से कहने की आज्ञा यहोवा ने दी थी कह चुका, तब याजकों और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं और सब साधारण लोगों ने यह कहकर उसको पकड़ लिया, निश्चय तुझे प्राणदण्ड होगा।

8. Nowe when Ieremiah had made an end of speaking all that the Lord had commanded him to speake vnto all the people, then the Priestes, and the prophets, and all the people tooke him, and saide, Thou shalt die the death.

9. तू ने क्यों यहोवा के नाम से यह भविष्यद्वाणी की कि यह भवन शीलो के समान उजाड़ हो जाएगा, और यह नगर ऐसा उजड़ेगा कि उस में कोई न रह जाएगा? इतना कहकर सब साधारण लोगों ने यहोवा के भवन में यिर्मयाह के विरूद्ध भीड़ लगाई।

9. Why hast thou prophecied in the Name of the Lord, saying, This House shall be like Shiloh, and this citie shalbe desolate without an inhabitant? and all the people were gathered against Ieremiah in the House of the Lord.

10. यहूदा के हाकिम ये बातें सुनकर, राजा के भवन से यहोवा के भवन में चढ़ आए और उसके नये फाटक में बैठ गए।

10. And when the princes of Iudah heard of these things, they came vp from the Kings house into the House of the Lord, and sate downe in the entrie of the new gate of the Lords House.

11. तब याजकों और भविष्यद्वक्ताओं ने हाकिमों और सब लोगों से कहा, यह मनुष्य प्राणदण्ड के योग्य है, क्योंकि इस ने इस नगर के विरूद्ध ऐसी भविष्यद्वाणी की है जिसे तुम भी अपने कानों से सुन चुके हो।
प्रेरितों के काम 6:13

11. Then spake the Priestes, and the prophets vnto the princes, and to all the people, saying, This man is worthie to die: for he hath prophecied against this citie, as ye haue heard with your eares.

12. तब यिर्मयाह ने सब हाकिमों और सब लोगों से कहा, जो वचन तुम ने सुने हैं, उसे यहोवा ही ने मुझे इस भवन और इस नगर के विरूद्ध भविष्यद्वाणी की रीति पर कहने के लिये भेज दिया है।

12. Then spake Ieremiah vnto all the princes, and to al the people, saying, The Lord hath sent me to prophecie against this house and against this citie all the things that ye haue heard.

13. इसलिये अब अपना चालचलन और अपने काम सुधारो, और अपने परमेश्वर यहोवा की बात मानो; तब यहोवा उस विपत्ति के विषय में जिसकी चर्चा उस ने तुम से की है, पछताएगा।

13. Therefore nowe amende your wayes and your workes, and heare the voyce of the Lord your God, that the Lord may repent him of the plague, that he hath pronounced against you.

14. देखो, मैं तुम्हारे वश में हूँ; जो कुछ तुम्हारी दृष्टि में भला और ठीक हो वही मेरे साथ करो।

14. As for me, beholde, I am in your hands: do with me as ye thinke good and right.

15. पर यह निश्चय जानो, कि, यदि तुम मुझे मार डालोगे, तो अपने को और इस नगर को और इसके निवासियों को निदष के हत्यारे बनाओगे; क्योंकि सचमुच यहोवा ने मुझे तुम्हारे पास ये सब वचन सुनाने के लिये भेजा हे।

15. But knowe ye for certaine, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood vpon your selues, and vpon this citie, and vpon the inhabitants thereof: for of a trueth the Lord hath sent me vnto you, to speake all these words in your eares.

16. तब हाकिमों और सब लोगों ने याजकों और नबियों से कहा, यह मनुष्य प्राणदण्ड के योग्य नहीं है क्योंकि उस ने हमारे परमेश्वर यहोवा के नाम से हम से कहा है।

16. Then saide the princes and all the people vnto the Priestes, and to the prophets, This man is not worthie to die: for he hath spoken vnto vs in the Name of the Lord our God.

17. और देश के पुरनियों में से कितनों ने उठकर प्रजा की सारी मण्डली से कहा,

17. Then rose vp certaine of the Elders of the lande, and spake to all the assemblie of the people, saying,

18. यहूदा के राजा हिजकिरयाह के दिनों में मोरसेती मीकायाह भविष्यद्वाणी कहता था, उस ने यहूदा के सारे लोगों से कहा, सेनाओं का यहोवा यों कहता है कि सिरयोन जोतकर खेत बनाया जाएगा और यरूशलेम खएडहर हो जाएगा, और भवनवाला पर्वत जंगली स्थान हो जाएगा।

18. Michah the Morashite prophecied in the dayes of Hezekiah king of Iudah, and spake to al the people of Iudah, saying, Thus saith the Lord of hostes, Zion shall be plowed like a fielde, and Ierusalem shalbe an heape, and the mountaine of the House shalbe as the hie places of the forest.

19. क्या यहूदा के राजा हिजकिरयाह ने वा किसी यहूदी ने उसको कहीं मरवा डाला? क्या उस राजा ने यहोवा का भय न माना ओर उस से बिनती न की? और तब यहोवा ने जो विपत्ति उन पर डालने के लिये कहा था, उसके विषय क्या वह न पछताया? ऐसा करके हम अपने प्राणों की बड़ी हानि करेंगे।

19. Did Hezekiah King of Iudah, and all Iudah put him to death? did he not feare ye Lord, and prayed before the Lord, and the Lord repented him of the plague, that he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great euill against our soules.

20. फिर शमायाह का पुत्रा ऊरिरयाह नाम किर्यत्यारीम का एक पुरूष जो यहोवा के नाम से भविष्यद्वाणी कहता था उस ने भी इस नगर और इस देश के विरूद्ध ठीक ऐसी ही भविष्यद्वाणी की जैसी यिर्मयाह ने अभी की है।

20. And there was also a man that prophecied in the Name of the Lord, one Vriiah the sonne of Shemaiah, of Kiriath-iarem, who prophecied against this citie, and against this lande, according to all the wordes of Ieremiah.

21. और जब यहोयाकीम राजा और उसके सब वीरों और सब हाकिमों ने उसके वचन सुने, तब राजा ने उसे मरवा डालने का यत्न किया; और ऊरिरयाह यह सुनकर डर के मारे मिस्र को भाग गया।

21. Nowe when Iehoiakim the King with all his men of power, and all the princes heard his wordes, the King sought to slay him. But when Vriiah heard it, he was afraide and fled, and went into Egypt.

22. तब यहोयाकीम राजा ने मिस्र को लोग भेजे अर्थात् अकबोर के पुत्रा एलनातान को कितने और पुरूषों के साथ मिस्र को भेजा।

22. Then Iehoiakim the King sent men into Egypt, euen Elnathan the sonne of Achbor, and certaine with him into Egypt.

23. और वे ऊरिरयाह को मिस्र से निकालकर यहोयाकीम राजा के पास ले आए; और उस ने उसे तलवार से मरवाकर उसकी लोथ को साधारण लोगों की कबरों में फिंकवा दिया।

23. And they fet Vriiah out of Egypt, and brought him vnto Iehoiakim the King, who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead bodie into the graues of the children of the people.

24. परन्तु शापान का पुत्रा अहीकाम यिर्मयाह की सहायता करने लगा और वह लोगों के वश में वध होने के लिये नहीं दिया गया।

24. But the hande of Ahikam the sonne of Shaphan was with Ieremiah that they shoulde not giue him into the hande of the people to put him to death.
