1. यहूदा का पाप लोहे की टांकी और हीरे की नोक से लिखा हुआ है; वह उनके हृदयरूपी पटिया और उनकी वेदियों के सींगों पर भी खुदा हुआ है।

1. Your sinne [O ye of the tribe of Iuda] is written in the table of your heartes, and grauen so vpon the edges of your aulters with a penne of iron, and with an Adamant clawe:

2. उनकी वेदियां और अशेरा नाम देवियां जो हरे पेड़ों के पास और ऊंचे टीलों के ऊपर हैं, वे उनके लड़कों को भी स्मरण रहती हैं।

2. That as the fathers thinke vpon their children, so thinke you also vpon your aulters, wooddes, thicke trees, hye hylles, mountaynes, and fieldes.

3. हे मेरे पर्वत, तू जो मैदान में है, तेरी धन- सम्पत्ति और भण्डार मैं तेरे पाप के कारण लुट जाने दूंगा, और तेरे पूजा के ऊंचे स्थान भी जो तेरे देश में पाए जाते हैं।

3. Wherfore, I wyll make my mount that standeth in the fielde, all your substaunce and treasure to be spoyled, for the great sinne that ye haue done vpon your hye places throughout all the coastes of your lande.

4. तू अपने ही दोष के कारण अपने उस भाग का अधिकारी न रहने पाएगा जो मैं ने तुझे दिया है, और मैं ऐसा करूंगा कि तू अनजाने देश में अपने शत्रुओं की सेवा करेगा, क्योंकि तू ने मेरे क्रोध की आग ऐसी भड़काई जो सर्वदा जलती रहेगी।

4. Ye shalbe cast out also from the heritage that I gaue you: and I wyll subdue you vnder the heauie bondage of your enemies, in a lande that ye knowe not: for ye haue ministred fire to mine indignation, which shall burne euermore.

5. यहोवा यों कहता है, स्रापित है वह पुरूष जो मनुष्य पर भरोसा रखता है, और उसका सहारा लेता है, जिसका मन यहोवा से भटक जाता है।

5. Thus saith the Lorde, Cursed be the man that putteth his trust in man, and that taketh fleshe for his arme, and he whose heart departeth from the Lord.

6. वह निर्जल देश के अधमूए पेड़ के समान होगा और कभी भलाई न देखेगा। वह निर्जल और निर्जन तथा लोनछाई भूमि पर बसेगा।

6. He shalbe like the heath that groweth in wildernesse: As for the good thyng that is for to come, he shall not see it, but dwell in a drye place of the wildernesse, in a salt and vnoccupied lande.

7. धन्य है वह पुरूष जो यहोवा पर भरोसा रखता है, जिस ने परमेश्वर को अपना आधार माना हो।

7. O blessed is the man that putteth his trust in the Lorde, and whose hope is in the Lorde hym selfe.

8. वह उस वृक्ष के समान होगा जो नदी के तीर पर लगा हो और उसकी जड़ जल के पास फैली हो; जब घाम होगा तब उसको न लगेगा, उसके पत्ते हरे रहेंगे, और सूखे वर्ष में भी उनके विषय में कुछ चिन्ता न होगी, क्योंकि वह तब भी फलता रहेगा।

8. For he shalbe as a tree that is planted by the water side, which spreadeth out the roote vnto moystnesse, whom the heate can not harme when it commeth, but his leafe shalbe greene: And though there growe but litle fruite because of drouth, yet is he not carefull, but he neuer leaueth of to bryng foorth fruite.

9. मन तो सब वस्तुओं से अधिक धोख देनेवाला होता है, उस में असाध्य रोग लगा है; उसका भेद कौन समझ सकता है?

9. Among all thynges, man hath the most deceiptfull and stubburne heart: Who shall then knowe it?

10. मैं यहोवा मन की खोजता और हृदय को जांचता हूँ ताकि प्रत्येक जन को उसकी चाल- चलन के अनुसार अर्थात् उसके कामों का फल दूं।

10. Euen I the Lorde searche out the grounde of the heart, & trye the raynes, and rewarde euery man accordyng to his wayes, and accordyng to the fruite of his workes.

11. जो अन्याय से धन बटोरता है वह उस तीतर के समान होता है जो दूसरी चिड़िया के दिए हुए अंडों को सेती है, उसकी आधी आयु में ही वह उस धन को छोड़ जाता है, और अन्त में वह मूढ़ ही ठहरता है।

11. The partrich maketh a nest of egges, which she layed not: he commeth by riches, but not righteously, in the middest of his life must he leane them behynde hym, & at the last be founde a very foole.

12. हमारा पवित्रा आराधनालय आदि से ऊंचे स्थान पर रखे हुए एक तेजोमय सिंहासन के समान है।

12. But thou (O Lorde) whose throne is most glorious, excellent, and of most antiquitie, which dwellest in the place of our holy rest:

13. हे यहोवा, हे इस्राएल के आधार, जितने तुझे छोड देते हैं वे सब लज्जित होंगे; जो तुझ से भटक जाते हैं उनके नाम भूमि ही पर लिखे जाएंगे, क्योंकि उन्हों ने बहते जल के सोते यहोवा को त्याग दिया है।

13. Thou art the comfort of Israel, all they that forsake thee shalbe confounded, all they that do depart from thee shalbe written in earth: for they haue forsaken the Lorde the very conduite of the waters of lyfe.

14. हे यहोवा मुझे चंगा कर, तब मैं चंगा हो जाऊंगा; मुझे बचा, तब मैं बच जाऊंगा; क्योंकि मैं तेरी ही स्तुति करता हूँ।

14. Heale me O Lorde, and I shalbe whole: saue thou me, & I shalbe saued: for thou art my prayse.

15. सुन, वे मुझ से कहते हैं, यहोवा का वचन कहां रहा? वह अभी पूरा हो जाए !

15. Beholde, these men say vnto me, where is the worde of the Lorde? let it come nowe.

16. परन्तु तू मेरा हाल जानता है, मैं ने तेरे पीछे चलते हुए उतावली करके चरवाहे का काम नहीं छोड़ा; न मैं ने उस आनेवाली विपत्ति के दिन की लालसा की है; जो कुछ मैं बोला वह तुझ पर प्रगट था।

16. Wheras I neuerthelesse obediently folowed thee as a sheephearde, & haue not vncalled taken this office vpon me, this knowest thou well: my wordes also were ryght before thee.

17. मुझे न घबरा; संकट के दिन तू ही मेरा शरणस्थान है।

17. Be not thou terrible vnto me O Lord: for thou art he in whom I hope when I am in perill.

18. हे यहोवा, मेरी आशा टूटने न दे, मेरे सतानेवालों ही की आशा टूटे; उन्हीं को विस्मित कर; परन्तु मुझे निराशा से बचा; उन पर विपत्ति डाल और उनको चकनाचूर कर दे !

18. Let my persecutours be confounded, but not me: let them be afrayde, and not me: Thou shalt bryng vpon them the tyme of plague, and shalt destroy them right sore.

19. यहोवा ने मुझ से यों कहा, जाकर सदर फाटक में खड़ा हो जिस से यहूदा के राजा वरन यरूशलेम के सब रहनेवाले भीतर- बाहर आया जाया करते हैं;

19. Thus hath the Lorde sayde vnto me, Go and stande vnder the gate wherethrough the people and the kynges of Iuda go out and in, yea vnder all the gates of Hierusalem,

20. और उन से कह, हे यहूदा के राजाओ और सब यहूदियो, हे यरूशलेम के सब निवासियो, और सब लोगो जो इन फाटकों में से होकर भीतर जाते हो, यहोवा का वचन सुनो।

20. And say vnto them, Heare the worde of the Lorde ye kynges of Iuda, and all thou people of Iuda, and all the citezins of Hierusalem, that go through this gate.

21. यहोवा यों कहता है, सावधान रहो, विश्राम के दिन कोई बोझ मत उठाओ; और न कोई बोझ यरूशलेम के फाटकों के भीतर ले आओ।

21. Thus the Lorde comaundeth, Take heede for your lyues that ye cary no burthen vpon you in the Sabbath, to bryng it through the gates of Hierusalem.

22. विश्राम के दिन अपने अपने घर से भी कोई बोझ बाहर मत लेओ और न किसी रीति का काम काज करो, वरन उस आज्ञा के अनुसार जो मैं ने तुम्हारे पुरखाओं को दी थी, विश्राम के दिन को पवित्रा माना करो।

22. Ye shall beare no burthen also out of your houses in the Sabbath, you shall do no labour therin: but halowe the Sabbath, as I commaunded your fathers.

23. परन्तु उन्हों ने न सुना और न कान लगाया, परन्तु इसके विपरीत हठ किया कि न सुनें और ताड़ना से भी न मानें।

23. Howbeit they obeyed me not, neither hearkened they vnto me: but were obstinate & stubburne, and neither obeyed me, nor receaued my correction.

24. परन्तु यदि तुम सचमुच मेरी सुनो, यहोवा की यह वाणी है, और विश्राम के दिन इस नगर के फाटकों के भीतर कोई बोझ न ले आओ और विश्रामदिन को पवित्रा मानो, और उस में किसी रीति का काम काज न करो,

24. Neuerthelesse, yf ye wyll heare me saith the Lorde, and beare no burthen into the citie through this gate vpon the Sabbath, yf ye wyll halowe the Sabbath, so that ye do no worke therin:

25. तब तो दाऊद की गद्दी पर विराजमान राजा, रथों और घोड़ों पर चढ़े हुए हाकिम और यहूदा के लोग और यरूशलेम के निवासी इस नगर के फाटकों से होकर प्रवेश किया करेंगे और यह नगर सर्वदा बसा रहेगा।

25. Then shall there go through the gates of this citie kynges and princes that shal sit vpon the throne of Dauid, they shalbe caryed vpon charrettes, and ride vpon horses, both they & their princes: yea whole Iuda and all the citezins of Hierusalem shall go here through, and this citie shall euer be inhabited.

26. और लोग होमबलि, मेलबलि अन्नबलि, लोबान और धन्यवादबलि लिए हुए यहूदा के नगरों से और यरूशलेम के आसपास से, बिन्यामीन के देश और नीचे के देश से, पहाड़ी देश और दक्खिन देश से, यहोवा के भवन में आया करेंगे।

26. There shall come men also from the cities of Iuda, from about Hierusalem, and from the lande of Beniamin, from the plaine fieldes, from the moutaynes, and from the wildernesse, which shall bryng burnt offerynges, sacrifices, oblations, and incense, and offer vp thankesgeuyng in the house of the Lorde.

27. परन्तु यदि तुम मेरी सुनकर विश्राम के दिन को पवित्रा न मानो, और उस दिन यरूशलेम के फाटकों से बोझ लिए हुए प्रवेश करते रहो, तो मैं यरूशलेम के फाटकों में आग लगाऊंगा; और उस से यरूशलेम के महल भी भस्म हो जाएंगे और वह आग फिर न बुझेगी।

27. But yf ye wyll not be obedient vnto me to halowe the Sabbath, so that ye wyll beare your burthens through the gates of Hierusalem vpon the Sabbath: then shall I set fire vpon the gates of Hierusalem, and it shall burne vp the houses of Hierusalem, and no man shalbe able to quenche it.
