1. हे याकूब के घराने, यह बात सुन, तुम जो इस्राएली कहलाते हो; जो यहोवा के नाम की शपथ खाते हो और इस्राएल के परमेश्वर की चर्चा तो करते हो, परन्तु सच्चाई और धर्म से नहीं करते।

1. Hear ye this O house of Jacob, Ye who call yourselves by the name of Israel, Yea from the waters of Judah, came they forth, Who swear by the name of Yahweh, And, by the God of Israel, call to remembrance Not in truth, nor in righteousness;

2. क्योंकि वे अपने को पवित्रा नगर के बताते हैं, और इस्राएल के परमेश्वर पर जिसका नाम सेनाओं का यहोवा है भरोसा करते हैं।।

2. For of the holy city, do they call themselves, And on the God of Israel, do they stay themselves, Yahweh of hosts, is his name.

3. होनेवाली बातों को तो मैं ने प्राचीनकाल ही से बताया है, और उनकी चर्चा मेरे मुंह से निकली, मैं ने अचानक उन्हें प्रगट किया और वे बातें सचमुच हुईं।

3. Things in advance, of old, I declared, Yea out of mine own mouth, came they forth, that I might let them be known, Suddenly, I wrought and they came to pass.

4. मैं जानता था कि तू हठीला है और तेरी गर्दन लोहे की नस और तेरा माथा पीतल का है।

4. Because I knew that Obstinate, thou wast, And, a sinew of iron, was thy neck, And thy brow, brazen,

5. इस कारण मैं ने इन बातों को प्राचीनकाल ही से तुझे बताया उनके होने से पहिले ही मैं ने तुझे बता दिया, ऐसा न हो कि तू यह कह पाए कि यह मेरे देवता का काम है, मेरी खोदी और ढली हुई मूर्त्तियों की आज्ञा से यह हुआ ।।

5. therefore told I thee in time past, Ere yet it came, I let thee hear, Lest thou shouldest say Mine idol wrought them, Yea, my carved image and my molten image, commanded them!

6. तू ने सुना हे, सो अब इन सब बातों पर ध्यान कर; और देखो, क्या तुम उसका प्रचार न करोगे? अब से मैं तुझे नई नई बातें और एसी गुप्त बातें सुनाऊंगा जिन्हें तू नही जानता।

6. Thou hast heard see it whole, And will, ye, not tell? I have let thee hear new things from the present time, Even secrets which ye knew not.

7. वे अभी अभी सृजी गई हैं, प्राचीनकाल से नहीं; परन्तु आज से पहिले तू ने उन्हें सुना भी न था, ऐसा न हो कि तू कहे कि देख मैं तो इन्हें जानता था।

7. Now, are they created, and not in time past, And, before to-day, thou hadst not heard of them, Lest thou shouldest say, Lo! I knew them!

8. हां निश्चय तू ने उन्हें न तो सुना, न जाना, न इस से पहिले तेरे कान ही खुले थे। क्योंकि मैं जानता था कि तू निश्चय विश्वासघात करेगा, और गर्भ ही से तेरा नाम अपराधी पड़ा है।।

8. Nay! thou hadst not heard, Nay! thou hadst not known, Nay! in time past, thine ear, was not opened, For I knew that thou, wouldst be treacherous, Yea a transgressor from birth, hast thou been called.

9. अपने ही नाम के निमित्त मैं क्रोध करने में विलम्ब करता हूं, ओर अपनी महिमा के निमित्त अपने तईं रोक रखता हूं, ऐसा न हो कि मैं तुझे काट डालूं।

9. For the sake of mine own Name, will I defer mine anger, And for my praise, will I restrain myself towards thee, So as not to cut thee off.

10. देख, मैं ने तुझे निर्मल तो किया, परन्तु, चान्दी की नाईं नहीं; मैं ने दु:ख की भट्ठी में परखकर तुझे चुन लिया है।

10. Lo! I have refined thee, but not as silver, I have tested thee, in a smelting-pot of affliction.

11. अपने निमित्त, हां अपने ही निमित्त मैं ने यह किया है, मेरा नाम क्यों अपवित्रा ठहरे? अपनी महिमा मैं दूसरे को नहीं दूंगा।।

11. For mine own sake for mine own sake, will I effectually work For how should it be profaned? And, my glory to another, will I not give.

12. हे याकूब, हे मेरे बुलाए हुए इस्राएल, मेरी ओर कान लगाकर सुन! मैं वही हूं, मैं ही आदि और मैं ही अन्त हूं।

12. Hearken unto me O Jacob, And Israel, my called one, I, am, the Same I, the first, yea, I, the last:

13. निश्चय मेरे ही हाथ ने पृथ्वी की नेव डाली, और मेरे ही दहिने हाथ ने आकाश फैलाया; जब मैं उनको बुलाता हूं, वे एक साथ उपस्थित हो जाते हैं।।

13. Surely, mine own hand, founded the earth, And, my right hand, stretched out the heavens, While I was calling unto them, they stood forth, at once

14. तुम सब के सब इकट्ठे होकर सुनो! उन में से किस ने कभी इन बातों का समाचार दिया? यहोवा उस से प्रेम रखता है: वह बाबुल पर अपनी इच्छा पूरी करेगा, और कसदियों पर उसका हाथ पड़ेगा।

14. Assemble yourselves all of you and hear, Who among them, hath told these things? he whom Yahweh loveth, will execute His pleasure, on Babylon, And his stroke on the Chaldeans.

15. मैं ने, हां मैं ही ने कहा और उसको बुलाया है, मैं उसको ले आया हूं, और, उसका काम सुफल होगा।

15. I I, have spoken, Yea I have called him, I have brought him in, and he shall make prosperous his way.

16. मेरे निकट आकर इस बात को सुनो: आदि से लेकर अब तक मैं ने कोई भी बात गुप्त में नही कही; जब से वह हुआ तब से मैं वहां हूं। और अब प्रभु यहोवा ने और उसकी आत्मा ने मुझे भेज दिया है।।

16. Draw ye near unto me hear ye this, Not in advance in secret, have I spoken, From the very time it cometh into being, there, am I, And, now, My Lord Yahweh hath sent me and his spirit.

17. यहोवा जो तेरा छुडानेवाला और इस्राएल का पवित्रा है, वह यो कहता है, मैं ही तेरा परमेश्वर यहोवा हूं जो तुझे तेरे लाभ के लिये शिक्षा देता हूं, और जिस मार्ग से तुझे जाना है उसी मार्ग पर तुझे ले चलता हूं।

17. Thus saith Yahweh Thy Redeemer, The Holy One of Israel, I Yahweh, am thy God, Teaching thee to profit, Guiding thee in the way thou shouldest go.

18. भला होता कि तू ने मेरी आज्ञाओं को ध्यान से सुना होता! तब तेरी शान्ति नदी के समान और तेरा धर्म समुद्र की लहरों के नाई होता;

18. Oh! that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments, Then had been, like a river, thy prosperity, And, thy righteousness, like the waves of the sea:

19. तेरा वंश बालू के किनकों के तुल्य होता, और तेरी निज सन्तान उसके कणों के समान होती; उनका नाम मेरे सम्मुख से न कभी काटा और न मिटाया जाता।।

19. Then had been, like the sand, thy seed, And, the offspring of thy body, like the grains thereof, Neither cut off nor destroyed had been his name from before me.

20. बाबुल में से निकल जाओ, कसदियों के बीच में से भाग जाओ; जयजयकार करते हुए इस बात को प्रचार करके सुनाओ, पृथ्वी की छोर तक इसकी चर्चा फैलाओ; कहते जाओ कि यहोवा ने अपने दास याकूब को छुड़ा लिया है!

20. Come ye forth out of Babylon, Flee from among the Chaldeans, With triumphant voice, tell ye let this be heard, Let it go forth as far as the end of the earth, Say ye Yahweh hath redeemed his servant Jacob!

21. जब वह उन्हें निर्जल देशों में ले गया, तब वे प्यासे न हुए; उस ने उनके लिये चट्टान में से पानी निकाला; उस ने चट्टान को चीरा और जल बह निकला।

21. And they thirsted not, when, through dry places, he led them, Waters out of the rock, caused hero flow out to them, Yea be cleft a rock and, there gushed out waters:

22. दुष्टों के लिये कुछ शान्ति नहीं, यहोवा का यही वचन है।।
