1. Comfort ye comfort ye my people, Saith your God.

2. यरूशलेम से शान्ति की बातें कहो; और उस से पुकारकर कहो कि तेरी कठिन सेवा पूरी हुई है, तेरे अधर्म का दण्ड अंगीकार किया गया है : यहोवा के हाथ से तू अपने सब पापों का दूना दण्ड पा चुका है।।

2. Speak ye unto the heart of Jerusalem, And cry unto her, That accomplished is her warfare, That accepted is her punishment, That she hath received, at the hand of Yahweh, According to the full measure of all her sins.

3. A voice of one crying! In the desert, prepare ye the way of Yahweh, Make smooth in the waste plain a highway for our God:

4. हर एक तराई भर दी जाए और हर एक पहाड़ और पहाड़ी गिरा दी जाए; जो टेढ़ा है वह सीधा और जो ऊंचा नीचा है वह चौरस किया जाए।

4. Let, every valley, be exalted, And every mountain and hill, be made low, And, the steep ground become, level, And, the chain of hills a plain:

5. तब यहोवा का तेज प्रगट होगा और सब प्राणी उसको एक संग देखेंगे; क्योंकि यहोवा ने आप ही ऐसा कहा है।।

5. Then shall be revealed the glory of Yahweh, And all flesh shall see it together, For, the mouth of Yahweh, hath spoken!

6. बोलनेवाले का वचन सुनाई दिया, प्रचार कर! मैं ने कहा, मैं क्या प्रचार करूं? सब प्राणी घास हैं, उनकी शोभा मैदान के फूल के समान है।

6. A voice saying Cry! And one said What should I cry? All flesh, is grass, And, all the grace thereof, like the flower of the field:

7. जब यहोवा की सांस उस पर चलती है, तब घास सूख जाती है, और फूल मुर्झा जाता है; नि:सन्देह प्रजा घास है।
याकूब 1:10-11

7. The grass hath withered The flower hath faded, Because, the breath of Yahweh, hath blown upon it! Surely the people is grass!

8. घास तो सूख जाती, और फूल मुर्झा जाता है; परन्तु हमारे परमेश्वर का वचन सदैव अटल रहेगा।।

8. The grass, hath withered, The flower, hath faded, But the word of our God, shall stand unto times age-abiding!

9. हे सिरयोन को शुभ समचार सुनानेवाली, ऊंचे पहाड़ पर चढ़ जा; हे यरूशलेम को शुभ समाचार सुनानेवाली, बहुत ऊंचे शब्द से सुना, ऊंचे शब्द से सुना, मत डर; यहूदा के नगरों से कह, अपने परमेश्वर को देखो!

9. To a high mountain, get ye up, O herald band of Zion, Lift high with strength your voice, O herald band of Jerusalem, Lift it high, do not fear, Say to the cities of Judah Lo! your God!

10. देखो, प्रभु यहोवा सामर्थ दिखाता हुआ रहा है, वह अपने भुजबल से प्रभुता करेगा; देखा, जो मजदूरी देने की है वह उसके पास है और जो बदला देने का है वह उसके हाथ में है।

10. Lo! My Lord, Yahweh, as a mighty one, doth come, And, his own arm, is about to rule for him, Lo! his reward, is with him, And, his recompense, before him;

11. वह चरवाहे की नाईं अपने झुण्ड को चराएगा, वह भेड़ों के बच्चों को अंकवार में लिए रहेगा और दूध पिलानेवालियों को धीरे धीरे ले चलेगा।।

11. Like a shepherd, his flock, will he tend, In his own arm, will he take up the lambs, And in his own bosom, will he carry them , Them which are with young, will he lead to a place of rest.

12. किस ने महासागर को चुल्लू से मापा और किस के बित्ते से आकाश का नाप हुआ, किस ने पृथ्वी की मिट्टी को नपवे में भरा और पहाड़ों को तराजू में और पहाड़ियों को कांटे में तौला है?

12. Who hath measured, with the hollow of his hand, the waters. Or the heavens with a span, hath meted out, Or hath comprehended, in a measure, the dust of the earth, Or weighed, in scales, the mountains, Or the hills, in a balance?

13. किस ने यहोवा की आत्मा को मार्ग बताया वा उसका मन्त्री होकर उसको ज्ञान सिखाया है?

13. Who hath proved the spirit of Yahweh? Or being his counsellor hath been giving him knowledge?

14. उस ने किस से सम्मति ली और किस ने उसे समझाकर न्याय का पथ बता दिया और ज्ञान सिखाकर बुद्धि का मार्ग जता दिया है?
रोमियों 11:34-35

14. With whom hath he taken counsel And he hath given him intelligence, And instructed him in the path of justice, And taught him knowledge, And in the way of intelligence, hath been giving him understanding?

15. देखो, जातियां तो डोल की एक बून्द वा पलड़ों पर की धूलि के तुल्य ठहरीं; देखो, वह द्वीपों को धूलि के किनकों सरीखे उठाता है।

15. Lo! nations, Are us a drop on a bucket, And as fine dust on a balance, are accounted, Lo! islands, like an atom, can he hoist;

16. लबानोन की ईधन के लिये थोड़ा होगा और उस में के जीव- जन्तु होमबलि के लिये बस न होंगे।

16. And, Lebanon, is not sufficient to burn, Nor, the beasts thereof sufficient for an ascending-sacrifice!

17. सारी जातियां उसके साम्हने कुछ नहीं हैं, वे उसकी दृष्टि में लेश और शून्य से भी घट ठहरीं हैं।।

17. All nations, are as nothing before him, A thing of nought or a waste, are they accounted unto him?

18. तुम ईश्वर को किस के समान बताओगे और उसकी उपमा किस से दोगे?

18. Unto whom then can ye liken GOD? Or, what likeness, can ye compare unto him?

19. मूरत! कारीगर ढालता है, सोनार उसको सोने से मढ़ता और उसके लिये चान्दी की सांकलें ढालकर बनाता है।

19. The image, hath been cast by an artificer, And a goldsmith, with gold, overlayeth it, And, chains of silver, he worketh.

20. जो कंगाल इतना अर्पण नहीं कर सकता, वह ऐसा वृक्ष चुन लेता है जो न घुने; तब एक निपुण कारीगर ढूंढकर मूरत खुदवाता और उसे ऐसा स्थिर कराता है कि वह हिल न सके।।

20. The needy offerer, of a tree that will not rot, maketh choice, A skilled artificer, seeketh he out for himself to construct an image that shall not totter,

21. क्या तुम नहीं जानते? क्या तुम ने नहीं सुना? क्या तुम को आरम्भ ही से नहीं बताया गया? क्या तुम ने पृथ्वी की नेव पड़ने के समय ही से विचार नहीं किया?

21. Have ye never taken note? Have ye never heard? Hath it not from the beginning, been told you? Have ye not been led to discern, from the foundations of the earth?

22. यह वह है जो पृथ्वी के घेरे के ऊपर आकाशमण्डल पर विराजमान है; और पृथ्वी के रहनेवाले टिड्डी के तुल्य है; जो आकाश को मलमल की नाईं फैलाता और ऐसा तान देता है जैसा रहने के लिये तम्बू ताना जाता है;

22. It is he who sitteth upon the circle of the earth, While the inhabitants thereof are, as grass-hoppers, Who stretcheth forth, as a curtain, the heavens, And spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in;

23. जो बड़े बड़े हाकिमों को तुच्छ कर देता है, और पृथ्वी के अधिकारियों को शून्य के समान कर देता है।।

23. Who delivereth dignitaries to nothingness, Judges of earth, like a desolation, hath he made:

24. वे रोपे ही जाते, वे बोए ही जाते, उनके ठूंठ भूमि में जड़ ही पकड़ पाते कि वह उन पर पवन बहाता और वे सूख जाते, और आंधी उन्हें भूसे की नाई उड़ा ले जाती है।।

24. Scarcely have they been planted, Scarcely have they been sown, Scarcely hath their stock, begun to take root in the earth, When he hath just blown upon them and they have withered, And, a whirlwind, as though they haft been chaff, carrieth them away.

25. सो तुम मुझे किस के समान बताओगे कि मैं उसके तुल्य ठहरूं? उस पवित्रा का यही वचन है।

25. Unto whom then, can ye liken me, or can I be equal? Saith the Holy One.

26. अपनी आंखें ऊपर उठाकर देखो, किस ने इनको सिरजा? वह इन गणों को गिन गिनकर निकालता, उन सब को नाम ले लेकर बुलाता है? वह ऐसा सामर्थी और अत्यन्त बली है कि उन में के कोई बिना आए नहीं रहता।।

26. Lift on high your eyes and see who hath created these, That bringeth forth, by number, their host, To all of them by name, doth call, Because of the abundance of vigour and alertness of strength, not one, is missing!

27. हे याकूब, तू क्यों कहता है, हे इस्राएल तू क्यों बोलता है, मेरा मार्ग यहोवा के छिपा हुआ है, मेरा परमेश्वर मेरे न्याय की कुछ चिन्ता नहीं करता?

27. Wherefore, shouldest thou say, O Jacob, or speak, O Israel, Hidden is my path from Yahweh, And from my God, my vindication, will pass?

28. क्या तुम नहीं जानते? क्या तुम ने नहीं सुना? यहोवा जो सनातन परमेश्वर और पृथ्वी भर का सिरजनहार है, वह न थकता, न श्रमित होता है, उसकी बुद्धि अगम है।

28. Hast thou not known, Hast thou not heard, That The God of age-past time Yahweh The Creator of the ends of the earth Fainteth not neither groweth weary There is no searching of his understanding:

29. वह थके हुए को बल देता है और शक्तिहीन को बहुत सामर्थ देता है।

29. Giving to him that fainteth, strength, And to him that hath no vigour, he causeth, power to abound?

30. तरूण तो थकते और श्रमित हो जाते हैं, और जवान ठोकर खाकर गिरते हैं;

30. Youths both faint and grow weary, And, young warriors they fall, they fall;

31. परन्तु जो यहोवा की बाट जोहते हैं, वे नया बल प्राप्त करते जाएंगे, वे उकाबों की नाई उड़ेंगे, वे दौड़ेंगे और श्रमित न होंगे, चलेंगे और थकित न होंगे।।

31. But, they who wait for Yahweh, shall renew their strength, They shall mount on strong pinion like eagles, They shall run and not grew weary, They shall walk and not faint.
