1. मि के विषय में भारी भविष्यवाणी। देखो, यहोवा शीघ्र उड़नेवाले बादल पर सवार होकर मि में आ रहा है;

1. The burden of Egypt. Behold, Jehovah rideth upon a swift cloud, and cometh to Egypt; and the idols of Egypt are moved at his presence, and the heart of Egypt melteth in the midst of it.

2. और मि की मूरतें उसके आने से थरथरा उठेंगी, और मिस्त्रियों का हृदय पानी- पानी हो जाएगा। और मैं मिस्त्रियों को एक दूसरे के विरूद्ध उभारूंगा, और वे आपस में लड़ेंगे, प्रत्येक अपने भाई से और हर एक अपने पड़ोसी से लड़ेगा, नगर नगर में और राज्य राज्य में युद्ध छिड़ेंगा;

2. And I will incite the Egyptians against the Egyptians; and they shall fight every one against his brother, and every one against his neighbour; city against city, kingdom against kingdom.

3. और मिस्त्रियों की बुद्धि मारी जाएगी और मैं उनकी युक्तियों को व्यर्थ कर दूंगा; और वे अपनी मूरतों के पास और ओझेां और फुसफुसानेवाले टोन्हों के पास जा जाकर उन से पूछेंगे;

3. And the spirit of Egypt shall fail in the midst of it, and I will destroy the counsel thereof; and they shall seek unto the idols and unto the conjurers, and unto the necromancers, and unto the soothsayers.

4. परन्तु मैं मिस्त्रियों को एक कठोर स्वामी के हाथ में कर दूंगा; और एक क्रूर राजा उन पर प्रभुता करेगा, प्रभु सेनाओं के यहोवा की यही वाणी है।।

4. And the Egyptians will I give over into the hand of a cruel lord, and a fierce king shall rule over them, saith the Lord, Jehovah of hosts.

5. और समुद्र का जल सूख जाएगा, और महानदी सूख कर खाली हो जाएगी;

5. And the waters shall fail from the sea, and the river shall be wasted and dried up;

6. और नाले बसाने लगेंगे, और मि की नहरें भी सूख जाएंगी, और नरकट और हूगले कुम्हला जाएंगे।

6. and the rivers shall stink, and the streams of Egypt shall be diminished and drain away: the reeds and sedges shall wither.

7. नील नदी के तीर पर के कछार की घास, और जो कुछ नील नदी के पास बोया जाएगा वह सूखकर नष्ट हो जाएगा, और उसका पता तक न लगेगा।

7. The meadows by the Nile, on the banks of the Nile, and everything sown by the Nile, shall be dried up, be driven away, and be no [more].

8. सब मछुवे जितने नील नदी में बंसी डालते हैं विलाप करेंगे और लम्बी लम्बी सासें लेंगे, और जो जल के ऊपर जाल फेंकते हैं वे निर्बल हो जाएंगे।

8. And the fishers shall mourn, and all they that cast fish-hook into the Nile shall lament, and they that spread net upon the waters shall languish.

9. फिर जो लोग धुने हुए सन से काम करते हैं और जो सूत से बुनते हैं उनकी आशा टूट जाएगी।

9. And they that work in fine flax, and they that weave white stuffs shall be ashamed.

10. मि के रईस तो निराश और उसके सब मजदूर उदास हो जाएंगे।।

10. And her pillars shall be broken in pieces, and all workers for hire shall be sad of soul.

11. निश्चय सोअन के सब हाकिम मूर्ख हैं; और फिरौन के बुद्धिमान मन्त्रियों की युक्ति पशु की सी ठहरी। फिर तुम फिरौन से कैसे कह सकते हो कि मैं बुद्धिमानों का पुत्रा और प्राचीन राजाओं की सन्तान हूं?

11. They are but fools, the princes of Zoan, the wise counsellors of Pharaoh: [their] counsel is become senseless. How say ye unto Pharaoh, I am the son of the wise, the son of ancient kings?

12. अब तेरे बुद्धिमान कहां है? सेनाओं के यहोवा ने मि के विषय जो युक्ति की है, उसको यदि वे जानते हों तो तुझे बताएं।

12. Where are they then, thy wise [men]? Let them now tell thee, and let them make known what Jehovah of hosts hath purposed upon Egypt.

13. सोअन के हाकिम मूढ़ बन गए हैं, नोप के हाकिमों ने धोखा खाया है; और जिन पर मि के गोत्रों के प्रधान लोगों का भरोसा था उन्हों ने मि को भरमा दिया है।

13. The princes of Zoan are become foolish, the princes of Noph are deceived; and the corner-stones of its tribes have caused Egypt to err.

14. यहोवा ने उस में भ्रमता उत्पन्न की है; उन्हों ने मि को उसके सारे कामों में वमन करते हुए मतवाले की नाई डगमगा दिया है।

14. Jehovah hath mingled a spirit of perverseness in the midst thereof; and they have caused Egypt to err in every work thereof, as a drunkard staggereth in his vomit.

15. और मि के लिये कोई ऐसा काम न रहेगा जो सिर वा पूंछ से अथवा प्रधान वा साधारण से हो सके।।

15. Neither shall there be any work for Egypt, which the head or tail, palm-branch or rush, may do.

16. उस समय मिद्दी, स्त्रियों के समान हो जाएंगे, और सेनाओं का यहोवा जो अपना हाथ उन पर बढ़ाएगा उसके डर के मारे वे थरथराएंगे और कांप उठेंगे।

16. In that day shall Egypt be like unto women; and it shall tremble and fear because of the shaking of the hand of Jehovah of hosts, which he shaketh over it.

17. ओर यहूदा का देश मि के लिये यहां तक भय का कारण होगा कि जो कोई उसकी चर्चा सुनेगा वह थरथरा उठेगा; सेनाओं के यहोवा की उस युक्ति का यही फल होगा जो वह मि के विरूद्ध करता है।।

17. And the land of Judah shall be a dismay unto Egypt: every one that thinketh of it shall be afraid for himself, because of the counsel of Jehovah of hosts, which he hath purposed against it.

18. उस समय मि देश में पांच नगर होंगे जिनके लोग कनान की भाषा बोलेंगे और यहोवा की शपथ खायेंगे। उन में से एक का नाम नाशनगर रखा जाएगा।।

18. In that day shall there be five cities in the land of Egypt speaking the language of Canaan, and swearing by Jehovah of hosts: one shall be called, The city of Heres.

19. उस समय मि देश के बीच में यहोवा के लिये एक वेदी होगी, और उसके सिवाने के पास यहोवा के लिये एक खंभा खड़ा होगा।

19. In that day shall there be an altar to Jehovah in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to Jehovah:

20. वह मि देश में सेनाओं के यहोवा के लिये चिन्ह और साक्षी ठहरेगा; और जब वे अंधेर करनेवाले के कारण यहोवा की दोहाई देंगे, तब वह उनके पास एक उद्धारकर्ता और रक्षक भेजेगा, और उन्हें मुक्त करेगा।

20. and it shall be for a sign and for a witness to Jehovah of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they shall cry unto Jehovah because of the oppressors, and he will send them a saviour and defender, who shall deliver them.

21. तब यहोवा अपने आप को मिस्त्रियों पर प्रगट करेगा; और मिद्दी उस समय यहोवा को पहिचानेंगे और मेलबलि और अन्नबलि चढ़ाकर उसकी उपासना करेंगे, और यहोवा के लिये मन्नत मानकर पूरी भी करेंगे।

21. And Jehovah shall be known to the Egyptians, and the Egyptians shall know Jehovah in that day, and shall serve with sacrifice and oblation; and they shall vow a vow unto Jehovah, and perform it.

22. और यहोवा मिस्त्रियों को मारेगा, और मारेगा और चंगा भी करेगा, और वे यहोवा की ओर फिरेंगे और वह उनकी बिनती सुनकर उनको चंगा करेगा।।

22. And Jehovah will smite Egypt; he will smite and heal: and they shall return to Jehovah, and he will be entreated of them, and will heal them.

23. उस समय मि से अश्शूर जाने का एक राजमार्ग होगा, और अश्शूरी मि में आएंगे और मिद्दी लोग अश्शूर को जाएंगे, और मिद्दी अश्शूरियों के संग मिलकर आराधना करेंगे।।

23. In that day shall there be a highway out of Egypt to Assyria; and the Assyrian shall come into Egypt, and the Egyptian into Assyria; and Egypt shall serve with Assyria.

24. उस समय इस्राएल, मि और अश्शूर तीनों मिलकर पृथ्वी के लिये आशीष का कारण होंगे।

24. In that day shall Israel be the third with Egypt and with Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth;

25. क्योंकि सेनाओं का यहोवा उन तीनों को यह कहकर आशीष देगा, धन्य हो मेरी प्रजा मि , और मेरा रख हुआ अश्शूर, और मेरा निज भाग इस्राएल।।

25. whom Jehovah of hosts will bless, saying, Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel mine inheritance!
