1. हाय, पंखों की फड़फड़ाहट से भरे हुए देश, तू जो कूश की नदियों के परे है;

1. Woe to the land which makes shade with [her] wings, which [is] beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:

2. और समुद्र पर दूतों को नरकट की नावों में बैठाकर जल के मार्ग से यह कहके भेजता है, हे फुर्तीले दूतो, उस जाति के पास जाओ जिसके लोग बलिष्ट और सुन्दर हैं, जो आदि से अब तक डरावने हैं, जो मापने और रौंदनेवाला भी हैं, और जिनका देश नदियों से विभाजित किया हुआ है।।

2. He who sends ambassadors by the sea, even in vessels of bulrushes upon the waters, [saying], Go, ye swift messengers, to the people scattered and peeled, to the people full of fears from their beginning, and until now, [a] people tired of waiting and trodden down, whose land the rivers have spoiled!

3. हे जगत के सब रहनेवालों, और पृथ्वी के सब निवासियों, जब झंड़ा पहाड़ों पर खड़ा किया जाए, उसे देखो! जब नरसिंगा फूंका जाए, तब सुनो!

3. All ye inhabitants of the world and neighbours of the land, when he lifts up a banner [as an example] on the mountains, ye shall see it; and when he blows the shofar, ye shall hear it.

4. क्योंकि यहोवा ने मुझ से यों कहा है, धूप की तेज गर्मी वा कटनी के समय के ओसवाले बादल की नाईं मैं शान्त होकर निहारूंगा।

4. For so the LORD said unto me, I will take my rest, and I will look forth from my dwelling place like a clear sun after the rain [and] like a cloud filled with dew in the heat of the harvest.

5. क्योंकि दाख तोड़ने के समय से पहिले जब फूल फूल चुकें, और दाख के गुच्छे पकने लगें, तब वह टहनियों को हंसुओं से काट डालेगा, और फैली हुई डालियों को तोड़ तोड़कर अलग फेंक देगा।

5. For before the harvest, when the fruit is perfect, and after the flower is past and the fruit is mature, then he shall both cut off the sprigs with pruning hooks and take away [and] cut down the branches.

6. वे पहाड़ों के मांसाहारी पक्षियों और वन- पशुओं के लिये इकट्ठे पड़े रहेंगे। और मांसाहारी पक्षी तो उनको नोचते नोचते धूपकाल बिताएंगे, और सब भांति के वनपशु उनको खाते खाते जाड़ा काटेंगे।

6. They shall be left together unto the fowls of the mountains and to the beasts of the earth; and the fowls shall summer upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall winter upon them.

7. उस समय जिस जाति के लोग बलिष्ट और सुन्दर हैं, और जो आदि ही से डरावने होते आए हैं, और मापने और रौंदनेवाले हैं, और जिनका देश नदियों से विभाजित किया हुआ है, उस जाति से सेनाओं के यहोवा के नाम के स्थान सिरयोन पर्वत पर सेनाओं के यहोवा के पास भेंट पहुंचाई जाएगी।।

7. In that time [the] present shall be brought unto the LORD of the hosts, the people scattered and peeled, the people full of fears from their beginning and until now, [a] people tired of waiting and trodden under foot, whose land the rivers have spoiled, to the place of the name of the LORD of the hosts, to the mount Zion.:
