1. यहोवा याकूब पर दया करेगा, और इस्राएल को फिर अपनाकर, उन्हीं के देश में बसाएगा, और परदेशी उन से मिल जाएंगे और अपने अपने को याकूब के घराने से मिला लेंगे।

1. Yahweh will have pity on Jacob, he will choose Israel once more and resettle them on their native soil. Foreigners will join them, attaching themselves to the House of Jacob.

2. और देश देश के लोग उनको उन्हीं के स्थान में पहुंचाएंगे, और इस्राएल का घराना यहोवा की भूमि पर उनका अधिकारी होकर उनको दास और दासियां बनाएगा; क्योंकि वे अपने बंधुवाई में ले जानेवालों को बंधुआ करेंगे, और जो उन पर अत्याचार करते थे उन पर वे शासन करेंगे।।

2. Peoples will take them and escort them home, and the House of Israel will take them as slaves, men and women on Yahweh's soil. They will enslave those who enslaved them and will master their oppressors.

3. और जिस दिन यहोवा तुझे तेरे सन्ताप और घबराहट से, और उस कठिन श्रम से जो तुझ से लिया गया विश्राम देगा,

3. When that day comes, and Yahweh gives you rest from your suffering and torment and the grim servitude to which you have been subjected,

4. उस दिन तू बाबुल के राजा पर ताना मारकर कहेगा कि परिश्रम करानेवाला कैसा नाश हो गया है, सुनहले मन्दिरों से भरी नगरी कैसी नाश हो गई है!

4. you will recite this satire on the king of Babylon and say: 'How did the tyrant end? How did his arrogance end?

5. यहोवा ने दुष्टों के सोंटे को और अन्याय से शासन करनेवालों के लठ को तोड़ दिया है,

5. Yahweh has broken the staff of the wicked, the sceptre of rulers,

6. जिस से वे मनुष्यों को लगातार रोष से मारते रहते थे, और जाति जाति पर क्रोध से प्रभुता करते और लगातार उनके पीछे पड़े रहते थे।

6. furiously lashing peoples with continual blows, angrily hammering nations, pursuing without respite.

7. अब सारी पृथ्वी को विश्राम मिला है, वह चैन से है; लोग ऊंचे स्वर से गा उठे हैं।

7. The whole world is at rest and calm, shouts of joy resounding,

8. सनौवर और लबानोन के देवदार भी तुझ पर आनन्द करके कहते हैं, जब से तू गिराया गया तब से कोई हमें काटने को नहीं आया।

8. the cypresses, the cedars of Lebanon, rejoice aloud at your fate, 'Now that you have been laid low, no one comes up to fell us.'

9. पाताल के नीचे अधोलो में तुझ से मिलने के लिये हलचल हो रही है; वह तेरे लिये मुर्दों को अर्थात्पृथ्वी के सब सरदारों को जगाता है, और वह जाति जाति से सब राजाओं को उनके सिंहासन पर से उठा खड़ा करता है।

9. 'On your account, Sheol below is astir to greet your arrival. He has roused the ghosts to greet you, all the rulers of the world. He has made all the kings of the nations get up from their thrones.

10. वे सब तुझ से कहेंगे, क्या तू भी हमारी नाई निर्बल हो गया है? क्या तू हमारे समान ही बन गया?

10. They will all greet you with the words, 'So, you too are now as weak as we are! You, too, have become like us.

11. तेरा विभव और तेरी सारंगियों को शब्द अधोलोक में उतारा गया है; कीड़े तेरा बिछौना और केचुए तेरा ओढ़ना हैं।।

11. Your pride has been flung down to Sheol with the music of your lyres; under you a mattress of maggots, over you a blanket of worms.

12. हे भोर के चमकनेवाले तारे तू क्योंकर आकाश से गिर पड़ा है? तू जो जाति जाति को हरा देता था, तू अब कैसे काटकर भूमि पर गिराया गया है?

12. How did you come to fall from the heavens, Daystar, son of Dawn? How did you come to be thrown to the ground, conqueror of nations?

14. I shall climb high above the clouds, I shall rival the Most High.'

16. जो तुझे देखेंगे तुझ को ताकते हुए तेरे विषय में सोच सोचकर कहेंगे, क्या यह वही पुरूष है जो पृथ्वी को चैन से रहने न देता था और राज्य राज्य में घबराहट डज्ञल देता था;

16. 'When they see you, they will scrutinise you and consider what you have become, 'Is this the man who made the world tremble, who overthrew kingdoms?

17. जो जगत को जंगल बनाता और उसके नगरों को ढा देता था, और अपने बंधुओं को घर जाने नहीं देता था?

17. He made the world a desert, he levelled cities and never freed his prisoners to go home.'

18. जाति जाति के सब राजा अपने अपने घर पर महिमा के साथ आराम से पड़े हैं;

18. All other kings of nations, all of them, lie honourably, each in his own tomb;

19. परन्तु तू निकम्मी शाख की नाईं अपनी कबर में से फेंका गया; तू उन मारे हुओं की लोथों से घिरा है जो तलवार से बिधकर गड़हे में पत्थरों के बीच में लताड़ी हुई लोथ के समान पड़े है।

19. but you have been thrown away, unburied, like a loathsome branch, covered with heaps of the slain pierced by the sword who fall on the rocks of the abyss like trampled carrion.

20. तू उनके साथ कब्र में न गाड़ा जाएगा, क्योंकि तू ने अपने देश को उजाड़ दिया, और अपनी प्रजा का घात किया है। कुकर्मियों के वंश का नाम भी कभी न लिया जाएगा।

20. 'You will not rejoin them in the grave, for you have brought your country to ruin and destroyed your people. The offspring of the wicked leave no name behind them.

21. उनके पूर्वजों के अधर्म के कारण पुत्रों के घात की तैयारी करो, ऐसा न हो कि वे फिर उठकर पृथ्वी के अधिकारी हो जाएं, और जगत में बहुत से नगर बसाएं।।

21. Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their father! Never again must they rise to conquer the world and cover the face of the earth with their cities.

22. सेनाओं के यहोवा की यह वाणी है कि मैं उनके विरूद्ध उठूंगा, और बाबुल का नाम और निशान मिटा डालूंगा, और बेटों- पोतों को काट डालूंगा, यहोवा की यही वाणी है।

22. 'I will rise against them, declares Yahweh Sabaoth, and deprive Babylon of name, remnant, offspring and posterity, declares Yahweh.

23. मैं उसको साही की मान्द और जल की झीलें कर दूंगा, और मैं उसे सत्यानाश के झाडू से झाड़ डालूंगा, सेनाओं के यहोवा की यही वाणी है।।

23. I shall turn it into the haunt of hedgehogs, a swamp. I shall sweep it with the broom of destruction, declares Yahweh Sabaoth.'

24. सेनाओं के यहोवा ने यह शपथ खाई है, नि:सन्देह जैसा मैं ने ठाना है, वैसा ही हो जाएगा, और जैसी मैं ने युक्ति की है, वैसी ही पूरी होगी,

24. Yahweh Sabaoth has sworn it, 'Yes, what I have planned will take place, what I have decided will be so:

25. कि मैं अश्शूर को अपने ही देश में तोड़ दूंगा, और अपने पहाड़ों पर उसे कुचल डालूंगा; तब उसका जूआ उनकी गर्दनों पर से और उसका बोझ उनके कंधों पर से उतर जाएगा।

25. 'I shall break Assyria in my country, I shall trample on him on my mountains. Then his yoke will slip off them, his burden will slip from their shoulders.'

26. यही युक्ति सारी पृथ्वी के लिये ठहराई गई है; और यह वही हाथ है जो सब जातियों पर बढ़ा हुआ है।

26. This is the decision taken in defiance of the whole world; this, the hand outstretched in defiance of all nations.

27. क्योंकि सेनाओं के यहोवा ने युक्ति की है और कौन उसका टाल सकता है? उसका हाथ बढ़ाया गया है, उसे कौन रोक सकता है?

27. Once Yahweh Sabaoth has decided, who will stop him? Once he stretches out his hand, who can withdraw it?

28. जिस वर्ष में आहाज राजा मर गया उसी वर्ष यह भारी भविष्यद्वाणी हुई:

28. In the year Ahaz died came this proclamation:

29. हे सारे पलिश्तीन तू इसलिये आनन्द न कर, कि तेरे मारनेवाले की लाठी टूट गई, क्योंकि सर्प की जड़ से एक काला नाग उत्पन्न होगा, और उसका फल एक उड़नेवाला और तेज विषवाला अग्निसर्प होगा।

29. All Philistia, do not rejoice because the rod which used to beat you is now broken, for the serpent stock will produce a viper, its offspring will be a flying dragon.

30. तब कंगालों के जेठे खाएंगे और दरिद्र लोग निडर बैठने पाएंगे, परन्तु मैं तेरे वंश को भूख से मार डालूंगा, और तेरे बचे हुए लोग घात किए जाएंगे।

30. While the first-born of the poor are grazing and the destitute are resting in safety, I shall make your stock die of hunger and then slaughter what remains of you.

31. हे फाटक, तू हाय हाय कर; हे नगर, तू चिल्ला; हे पलिश्तीन तू सब का सब पिघल जा! क्योंकि उत्तर से एक धूआं उठेगा और उसकी सेना में से कोई पीछे न रहेगा।।

31. Howl, gate! Shriek, city! Totter, all Philistia! For a smoke is coming from the north, and there are no deserters in those battalions.

32. तब अन्यजातियों के दूतों को क्या उत्तर दिया जाएगा? यह कि यहोवा ने सिरयोन की नेव डाली है, और उसकी प्रजा के दीन लोग उस में शरण लेंगे।।

32. What reply will be given then to the messengers of that nation? - That Yahweh founded Zion and there the poor of his people will find refuge.
